The main camera of a mobile device is usually located on the back of the body and is used for taking photos and videos. Bluetooth is a standard for secure wireless data transfer between various devices of different types over short distances

Screen quality and price are two of the most important features of a tablet. There is no shortage of expensive, high-end tablets on the market with beautiful displays, but those with similar, impressive screens are virtually unaffordable. That's why the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L is a special case, because it offers a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels in an uncharacteristic price range.

And while it will set you back less than half the price of a high-end tablet, the Lenovo Tab 2 A10 offers more than half the quality. Priced from 18,000 rubles, the 10-inch tablet offers average performance in most aspects - like most other cheap tablets - except for one important feature: screen quality. This is one of the most affordable tablets with a Full HD panel, and in addition to the attractive picture, the Lenovo tablet also offers powerful Dolby-enhanced speakers for an extra sound experience.

On the other hand, the rest of the tablet is unremarkable. Its casual design is a bit thick, and the significant weight causes discomfort after prolonged use. Performance also does not exceed the average mark and is suitable only for average tasks, such as checking email and web surfing; the speed drops noticeably when loading applications and playing games with rich graphics.

But don't get us wrong, the new Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L is an attractive tablet. It's not cheap in the pejorative sense. The tablet actually costs less than its strongest competitors. With a sharp display and amazing speakers, you'll be hard-pressed to find any other that offers the same thing for less money. If you're not willing to pay a lot for a video tablet, then the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L should meet your needs. Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L review more...

DesignLenovo Tab 2 A10-70

If you haven't used skinny tablets like or before, you probably won't immediately notice the waist and weight of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10. This is by no means a brick; it's just that the tablet avoids the term "slim". For an inexpensive tablet this is common.

The very dark blue plastic back panel has a smooth texture with matte finish. Under certain lighting, a subtle metallic sheen appears on it. On the top of the back, you'll find the speakers, which span the entire width of the tablet, except for the camera in the center, which separates the two.

The edges of the Lenovo tablet are flat, a special edge is created to distinguish the back panel from the front. With no sharp edges or incredibly protruding edges, your fingers can rest comfortably on the sides of the tablet. From top to bottom, the left edge of the Lenovo tablet is covered by the power button, volume button, port Micro USB and a MicroSD slot. All alone, in the center of the tablet's top edge, you'll find a headphone jack.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L tablet we reviewed offers significant comfort. The rounded edges are a bit harsh, but after a while they fit comfortably into the palm. The tablet's weight of 499 grams becomes quite obvious during long hand-held sessions. Working with a tablet long time, I found myself constantly changing my grip. This isn't unusual for a mobile device of this size, but compared to other tablet designs, including the much more streamlined , Lenovo falls short. When you hold a tablet in your hands for hours at a time, whether you're watching a movie or chatting on social media, discomfort becomes an annoying aspect of an otherwise enjoyable tablet to use.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10 review: The buttons dutifully protrude from the left edge of the tablet.

Features of Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L

Not only ignored normal standards beauty, they also skimp on software features. The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L runs on an almost vanilla version of the tablet, unlike previous models, it has an application tray that collects all your applications in one place.

Lenovo also uploads some of its own applications, including Browser, Contacts and Calendar. Lenovo apps also include SyncIT and ShareIT apps. SyncIT lets you sync your contacts and also provides SD card backup or restore, while ShareIT lets you share with other tablets, phones, and PCs. Apps aren't essential solutions, but if you're a beginner, they'll complement the functionality of your new tablet due to their ease of use.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10 review: The app tray becomes a convenient centralized place for all your apps.

CharacteristicsLenovoTab 2A10-70L

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L tablet runs on a 4-core Mediatek MT8165 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal memory with a MicroSD slot that supports cards up to 64 GB. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and an accelerometer.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10 review: Light on the wallet, but not on the hands.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L performance

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L tablet is great for everyday use. you could write emails, check social networks, watch streaming video, everything is alright. It will provide a smooth, although not the most fast performance The tablet also slows down somewhat as application load gradually accumulates, although this happens with most tablets.

Mobile games like Angry Birds and Candy Crush played without a hitch. Most games take some time to load before the load levels off. If there are no applications open in background, review Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L works smoothly, although a little slower. Its performance is on par with the strongest competitors. Compared to Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7, it performed much better in gaming tests, although slightly worse than the Kindle Fire HD 10.

In games where I needed two thumbs on the screen, the Lenovo tablet felt unwieldy and difficult to navigate. This won't be a problem in one-handed games like Angry Birds. Indeed, big screen can be quite useful. Overall I wasn't disappointed with it gaming performance, however, its size and significant weight may make your experience less pleasant than you would like.

The Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L tablet offers a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. It's not the sharpest resolution for a tablet, but it's a pretty solid resolution for a tablet in this price range. HD video looks sharp and detailed with very clear images. Colors on the screen look accurate and rich enough for live images, but not oversaturated like on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7. Compared to the Kidle HD 10, the Amazon tablet's screen is dull and lacks color and sharpness. The Lenovo tablet's 10-inch screen also offers truly deep blacks, unlike its competitors, but both fall short when it comes to brightness.

Tablets have traditionally neglected speakers, and as a result, they encourage alternative use headphones, but Lenovo tablets have defied the trend. According to the manufacturer, new Lenovo The Tab 2 A10-70L carry "sound bars" on the rear panel. The two speakers separated by the main camera come Dolby-branded, but since they're located on the back of the tablet, the sound is directed away from your ears rather than towards them.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10 review: The screen is sharper and colors more accurate than comparable tablets.

Audio sounds better when you use the pre-installed Dolby app. You can change the audio optimization settings for movies, music, or games. When watching movies and games, the sound becomes more intelligible and, thanks to Dolby Atmos technology - which allows sound to dynamically spread through space - the sound effects are clear, immersive and crisp. This technology also helps the music, highlighting the vocals beautifully, but the bass is still lacking to give the melody an exciting charm.

Unlike its smaller counterpart, the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L's pair of cameras are quite good for a tablet. 8 megapixel rear camera Captures clear photos with accurate colors. It is capable of sharply focusing on close-range objects and distant landscapes. To the delight of selfie enthusiasts, the front-facing 5-megapixel camera also promises focus and ensures accurate colors, although colors can get a little washed out in bright rooms.

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L review: The midnight blue back panel looks subtle and classy.

The review of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L tablet was also not without tests; we launched a looped HD video (720p) at medium brightness in Airplane Mode, the tablet lasted 13 hours. For any tablet, especially a tablet with such big screen, this is an impressively long time.

Final word

Budget tablets that sacrifice good performance and snazzy design for a low price tend to be a tough sell. However, Lenovo Tab 2 A10 is one of the exceptions, thanks to its Full HD panel.

Amazon Kindle Fire HD 10 and Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 are the leading competitors of Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L. Kindle Fire HD 10 looks like a Lenovo tablet, great tablet to consume media content, but for a different reason. If you're an Amazon Prime member, the 10-inch Kindle HD offers easy access to an excellent media library, chock full of TV shows and movies available to stream or download. Its speaker audio systems are superior to Lenovo's, but while its screen is brighter, its resolution isn't nearly as high.

In 2015, Lenovo introduced its ten-inch tablet with 2 GB of RAM, it is called TAB 2 A10-70L. Since the company is known for manufacturing a wide range of devices ranging from smartphones to laptops, it is doing more than well in the tablet market. You can find a large selection of high-quality Lenovo devices from budget to premium. Today's copy was considered average at the time of release. price category. Let’s take a closer look at what this “fruit” is by producing Lenovo review Tab 2 A10 70L 16 Gb.

Equipment

The tablet is sold in a small cardboard box, which shows the device itself and describes it specifications. The diameter of the box is slightly larger than the tablet itself. The package is standard and does not contain additional accessories. So, in the box, in addition to the device itself, you can find a power supply, a cable for charging and connecting to a PC, and all the necessary documentation, including instructions and a warranty card, as well as a list of equipment on a separate sheet. The set is standard, as they say, nothing extra.

Design

The tablet has a simple design without any special features - everything is simple and concise. But this does not mean that he looks bad, quite the opposite. The main material of the case is matte plastic, it is quite durable. The device comes in two colors, namely white and dark blue.

On the front panel you can see a display with protective glass, above it on the side there is a camera and the company logo. It is by the location of the camera and logo that it becomes clear that landscape orientation tablet is the only correct one. And besides, the ten-inch device is in a different position and is not very convenient to work with.

At the top end there is a headset jack; there is nothing else there. On the left you can find the keys for adjusting the volume and turning off the device; they feel great, have a good response and do not creak. Next to the buttons there is a micro-USB input for connecting charging or synchronizing the gadget with a computer. On the same side there is a hidden slot for a memory card and SIM card; it is hidden under a special plug. There are no connectors on the right side, and only a microphone on the bottom.

Back panel Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L meets with another company logo in the very middle. The camera module is located at the top center, with two speakers and holes for them on its sides.

The tablet turned out to be large enough for a resolution of 10.1 inches. It could have come out a little smaller if the frames around the display were thinner, but this has the advantage of making the device more comfortable to hold, and there is no risk of false clicks. The case creaks a little, and the back panel is made of soft plastic and bends when you press it, but only by a millimeter. However, it is worth considering that this adds bending strength to the device. For those who prefer a hard back panel, you can buy a case with hard walls.

The tablet weighs just over 500 grams, but it cannot be said that the device is heavy. In addition, the device is quite thin, which makes the gadget more ergonomic. The back panel is susceptible to fingerprints, and if this is not so noticeable in the white version, then the smudges will stand out strongly against a dark blue background. All this suggests once again that it is better to use a case.

Display

Let's continue our review of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10 70L tablet by looking at the display features. The screen of the device has a diagonal of 10.1 inches and a resolution of 1920×1200 with an aspect ratio of 16:10. This permission is quite enough to get high-quality picture no obvious pixels. For this price category, the resolution is very good, which, undoubtedly, pleases and raises the device one line higher than competitors in the same price category.

The tablet has an air gap, but this is not such a big minus. This is forgivable for a mid-budget device. Color reproduction is natural, the screen is bright and rich, but the colors are realistic. The manufacturer has calibrated this setting well. The viewing angles are at the highest level, which also means that the display turned out to be excellent.

The tablet has a built-in MiraVision setting that allows you to adjust many screen parameters. This means atypical adjustments to brightness, but also sharpness, color balance, hue, as well as contrast and color saturation.

The display is bright enough for normal outdoor use, but in direct sunlight the quality may be slightly lost. The minimum brightness setting is too high, this leads to the fact that in the dark when using the tablet, the eyes may get tired faster and there is a desire to lower the slider even lower, but this is not possible. You can fix this using third-party applications.

There was no light sensor built in, so all brightness settings must be done manually. However, most users already disable it, so we can’t say that this is a big minus.

It is worth noting that it is still unknown what material is used to protect the display. There are opinions that this protective glass, however, sometimes it seems that the front panel is high-quality plastic. It is worth considering that the protective surface resists scratches well, but does not have an oleophobic coating, so fingerprints remain easily. Here it is better to use film.

As a result, we can say that the display turned out to be good and is clearly worthy of its price.

Sound

The device has two speakers, which are located at the top of the rear panel and distributed on the sides, which creates stereo sound or surround sound. The tablet has Dolby ATMOS technology built into it, which is designed to significantly expand the sound stage. We can immediately say that Lenovo managed to achieve this. The sound is loud and clear, bass and low frequencies are felt.

Since the speakers are located at the rear, you may feel that this degrades the sound experience. However, they have plenty of power to spare, which makes up for the lack of location. While holding the tablet, do not cover the sound holes with your hands.

In the mentioned Dolby ATMOS program, deep settings sound and there are several ready-made quality profiles.

Also a little about using the headset. If you turn on expensive headphones, their potential will be revealed at 100%. As a result, we can say with confidence that the sound of the tablet is at a high level.

Cameras

You shouldn't expect anything from cameras in tablets. And in general, few people use them except as a front camera for selfie photos or video calls. But everything in the reviewed tablet is pretty good. So, the main camera is 8 megapixels and has autofocus. In good daylight, the pictures are of acceptable quality, and the color rendition of the surroundings is normal.

But focusing takes quite a long time, and when you get closer, you can see that the detail in the photos is rather weak. If you take photos in poor lighting, the quality drops many times and noise appears.

In the application "Camera" There are many useful settings; if you tweak them, the quality of the pictures may improve slightly. Yes, the most interesting setting- This is HDR mode. It works quite well and is useful in many situations. However, during such photography, the camera must be stationary. It is also worth noting that there is no flash, which reduces the quality of photos in the dark. Videos are obtained even in high resolution at 1920×1080, but still the quality is a little lame, and pixelation appears. Despite the shortcomings in the camera there are also interesting features, for example, anti-flicker mode - allows you to record video from a monitor or TV screen without creeping bars.

The front camera is quite standard and is suitable for taking pictures of yourself or using for video calling, but the video quality will not be the highest.

Memory and memory card

The tablet is equipped with 16 GB of internal memory and 2 GB of RAM. If there is enough RAM to run applications and background processes, then the internal storage may not be enough. The fact is that it gets clogged very quickly, and in the version of the operating system installed on this tablet, not all applications are transferred to the memory card.

You can expand the storage with a flash drive up to 64 GB, which slightly improves the situation. In addition, there is a version with 32 GB of ROM.

Connection

Wireless modules are presented in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G/LTE. What we can say about Wi-Fi is that it works well and quite quickly, no problems were identified during testing - the connection is instantaneous, and the transfer speed is high. The Wi-Fi module supports all standards that exist on this moment.

There are GPS, Glonass and Beidou systems. They all work well with the cards.

When connecting an OTG adapter, you can not only connect a USB flash drive, but even a USB-Ethernet network card for subsequent use of wired Internet. This opportunity is not available everywhere.

Battery life and performance

The tablet uses a 7000 mAh battery. Despite the fact that the filling is quite economical, long-term operation will be ensured. The battery life was tested on PCMark, where the tablet lasted more than 9 hours with above-average brightness and Wi-Fi turned on. When the test was completed, there was still 19% charge left, which is enough for at least an hour under the same high load.

In general, it will take at least 2 days to discharge the tablet with normal use. Charging takes about 4 hours from 0 to 100%. It is recommended to use the supplied cable and power supply, which provide a current of 2A. With other power supplies, charging may take longer. During heavy games, the charging speed decreases significantly, so after 30 minutes of playing, the charging level increased by only 7%.

The “heart” of the tablet is a quad-core MediaTek MT8732 processor with a clock frequency of 1.7 GHz. This is a mid-range chipset that is quite power efficient. The video system used is Mali-T760 MP2 - a powerful video accelerator, which, however, in this version has only 2 cores, but can support much more.

Random access memory 2 GB, only half of it is available to the user. In Antutu, Lenovo Tab 2 A10 70L shows more than 34 thousand points, which is an average result. However, in reality the performance turns out to be higher than the tests show. The interface works smoothly and quickly, all applications open without the slightest delay.

Here in games the situation is average in every sense, so, in a fairly demanding game World Of Tanks Blitz It is possible to play comfortably only at low and medium settings, however, during difficult scenes there may be drops in the frame rate.

In well-optimized games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5, everything is quite good, it’s comfortable to play at medium settings, there are no obvious performance losses and no stutters either.

In simple three-dimensional games, using the example of various runners, the performance is at a high level, everything flies as it should. The situation is the same with 2D games; they have no frame drops.

From all this we can conclude that the tablet is, in principle, suitable for games, but playing particularly difficult versions will have problems, you will need to lower the graphics settings.

Software

Out of the box, the tablet comes with the Android 4.4 operating system, but immediately upon launch it can be upgraded to Android 5.0. To do this, you just need to connect to the Internet, after which the tablet itself will offer an update.

The proprietary shell is used Lenovo solution– Vibe UI. At first glance, there are not many differences from the standard version of Android; these are slightly redesigned settings and redundant shortcuts for standard applications.

There are no complaints about the operation of the system. Everything works quickly and smoothly. There are no slowdowns during transitions. The whole set Android functions works fully and flawlessly.

There are a few pre-installed applications, among which there are a couple of special ones:

  • SYNCit HD. This software Allows you to backup memory.
  • WPS Office. This office suite, it includes all the necessary applications for opening and editing documents, creating presentations, and a program for tables and calculations in them.

Bottom line

Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L is an interesting offer that fully justifies its price. Among the advantages, we can immediately note an excellent high-resolution screen, normal performance for many daily tasks and support for 3G networks. The most tangible advantage is excellent sound system, which provides truly high-quality sound, as well as high autonomy for a tablet with a 10-inch screen.

However, there are still some downsides. This is insufficient performance for “heavy” games, frankly weak camera modules and the absence of an oleophobic screen coating.

But a tablet is not a smartphone. In general, the reviewed gadget is clearly worth the money.

Video review of Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L

It’s better to get acquainted with the tablet and see with your own eyes how it works in the video review of the Lenovo Tab 2 A10 70L. The video will ultimately determine your impression of the presented device.

As soon as the announcement of this tablet appeared in the media, I immediately received several letters from our readers asking me to review it. The model really came out very balanced in terms of price-performance ratio, so it’s definitely worth talking about.

Appearance, materials, control elements, assembly

In terms of appearance, the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L does not have enough stars in the sky; it is a typical ten-inch Android tablet with slightly rounded corners and a black frame around the display.

On the front side there is a peephole of the front 5 MP camera and a light indicator (there is no light sensor).

On the left there is a volume rocker and a power button, as well as a microUSB port. At the top end there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack, at the bottom there is a speaking microphone hole for Skype and other programs.

The back cover is made of matte smooth plastic with a soft-touch coating. Thanks to it, the tablet is comfortable to hold in your hands, but it is important to remember that such material collects fingerprints very well. By the way, there is a flap at the back, under which slots for a memory card and a microSIM card are hidden.

You can also see the stereo speakers and the main camera peephole. This model has support for Dolby Atmos technology, and if we talk about the sound, it is really very good here, both in terms of volume and sound quality; the tablet will perfectly replace an inexpensive wireless speaker.

Two versions of the tablet will be available for sale: white and dark blue; we tested the latter.

Regarding the assembly, I noticed one thing about my sample: apparently, there is a small empty space between the lid and the insides, so if you press hard on it, you will feel it press down slightly. This cannot be called a serious drawback, especially since in normal use scenarios you are unlikely to notice it.

Dimensions

In addition to the increase in resolution and productivity of tablets, their dimensions are also decreasing every year, this is especially noticeable in terms of weight. Just a couple of years ago, a figure of 600-700 grams was considered the norm, but already in 2014-2015 it shifted to 450-500 grams, and Lenovo with its 509 grams looks great compared to its competitors.

It is convenient to hold the tablet for a long time with either one or two hands. As for the thickness, it is, of course, not at the level of the leaders, but this model did not seem thick to me either.

Screen

One of the key advantages of this tablet is its excellent quality display. It is important to note that few well-known manufacturers can offer you a ten-inch tablet with FHD resolution and an IPS matrix in the segment under 20,000 rubles.

And the screen in the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L is really good: viewing angles close to maximum, a wide range of brightness and good behavior in the sun. At the same time, thanks to the FHD resolution, it is very comfortable to read from the tablet; even small text looks very clear.

There is also an oleophobic coating here, although not as good as, for example, in the same Apple iPad Air or Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The finger glides well across the display, but fingerprints are not wiped off as quickly as with the mentioned models.

operating system

The tablet works under Android control 4.4.4 and the proprietary Vibe UI shell from Lenovo. There are rumors online that the model will be updated to Android 5.0, but keep in mind that rumors are not always confirmed. Eldar Murtazin has already talked about the features of Vibe UI in a separate article; those interested can read it at the link below:

Performance

In everyday use there are no complaints about the tablet. Tables are scrolled through quickly, the browser works without lag, and applications do not stutter.

But the situation with games is not so good. Although the same Asphalt 8 runs on maximum settings, drops in FPS are visible to the naked eye. This is worth considering if you plan to use the tablet for the most productive toys.

Another plus of the tablet is the location of the chipset; even in productive games you will hardly feel the heat, since only the upper half of the back cover heats up.

Autonomous operation

In our synthetic tests, the tablet shows simply excellent operating time, this applies to both watching videos and reading. With everyday use, you can safely count on 4-5 days of work, depending on the intensity of use of the tablet.

Camera

The tablet has a main 8 MP camera and a front 5 MP camera. Despite the high resolution, pictures from the main camera are of very average quality, you can see this for yourself in the examples below. The device records video in FHD resolution. As for the front camera, it is typical for similar devices, in the same Skype there is not much difference with 2 MP cameras.

Wireless interfaces

The presence of dual-band Wi-Fi has already become a common attribute of the mid-range tablet segment, as well as LTE support. But the relatively fast (for the MediaTek chipset) start of GPS was pleasantly pleasing, as was the presence of USB-OTG. By the way, voice calls are not supported by the device, and this is clearly an artificial limitation.

Accessories

I saw that you can buy a branded accessory for the tablet for 2,200 rubles. Keep in mind that the option without a keyboard costs this money; if you want a case with the same keyboard, you will have to pay about 5,000 rubles, which does not look like such an interesting offer.

Conclusion

Retail version of Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70 with LTE and 16 GB internal memory sold for 18,000 rubles. For this money you get a fast tablet with an excellent display, very good stereo speakers, relatively light weight and LTE support. The only downside I can highlight is the lack of voice calls and stuttering in Asphalt 8.

At the moment, this model has no direct competitors. None of the major brands will offer you a ten-inch tablet with FHD resolution and LTE support; there are only a few older models (the same Asus MeMO Pad 10 FHD), which have almost disappeared from the shelves of large retail chains. You can remember the Chinese, but it’s definitely not worth comparing them with the large Lenovo. And modern flagships like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5, although they outperform this model, are also significantly more expensive.

In the end, Lenovo succeeded good tablet with an excellent price-performance ratio without any significant drawbacks. If you are looking for a ten-inch Android tablet in the segment under 20,000 rubles, then I can confidently recommend this model.

10.1-inch tablet with IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1200, the latest 64-bit platform from MediaTek, 2 GB of memory, capacious battery and 3G/LTE support. All this on Android 5.0 and for under $300. Intrigued? Let's see how Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L, meeting all the listed criteria, will show itself in practice.

Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70 does not surprise with its sophisticated design. Externally, the tablet is simple and concise. The device body is made of plastic with a semi-matte finish. The device is offered in two color options – Pearl White and Midnight Blue.

The logo and front camera on the side are an unambiguous hint from the manufacturer that the tablet is best used in landscape orientation. Of course. For a widescreen camera with an aspect ratio of 16:10, this is rather a natural position. Especially considering that the manufacturer nominally positions the tablet for home use and entertainment.

If you hold the tablet in landscape mode, you can find a headphone/headphone jack on the top edge.

On the left edge there is a power key, a volume rocker, and a micro-USB connector for connecting charging or OTG cable. At the same edge there is a compartment covered with a plastic flap, behind which are hidden the connectors for the MicroSD and SIM flash cards.

There are no functional elements on the right side.

Only the microphone hole is visible on the bottom edge.

In terms of dimensions, the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L is a kind of compromise option for 10-inch models - 247x171x8.9 mm. At the same time, the tablet weighs 509 grams. That is, not thin and light, but moderately fit and strong. It doesn't look bulky, although there is a feeling that the device could be made even more compact. This is due to the rather wide frames around the screen. However, it is precisely this solution that allows you to avoid false positives when touching the screen with your palm.

When you pick up the tablet, it doesn't feel like you're holding a premium device. It would be strange to expect this from an entry-level model, but you always want more.

From time to time the case creaks, this cannot be taken away. By grasping a corner, it is not at all difficult to extract a characteristic sound. At the same time, the tablet withstands the torsion test with dignity - bends are minimal, although there are no metal structural reinforcements in the case.

The back cover bends in the central part. The stroke length is small - about a millimeter. During use, you quickly stop paying attention to it. Fans of the monolith will certainly prefer to equip the tablet with a hard-sided case that solves this problem.

A slight deflection does not affect the image in any way. Even with serious effort, there are no on-screen artifacts like those that occur on the iPad Air 2.

The rear panel with a semi-matte finish readily collects fingerprints, but on a white cover they are almost invisible, but on a blue one they will probably be more clearly visible.

Contents of delivery

Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L comes in a medium-sized box. The device is supplied with a power supply (5.2 V, 2 A), a cable and a set of documentation.

Screen

The tablet has a 10.1-inch screen with an IPS matrix and a resolution of 1920×1200. Please note that this is not Full HD. The aspect ratio is not 16:9, but 16:10. Additional dots are very appropriate for such a diagonal - the pixel density is higher, which means small details will look better.

In this case, we have 224 PPI, and this is a very good result. Relatively affordable 10-inch models have screens with HD resolution, even Full HD is a rarity for devices costing up to $400. And at 1280x800, at such a diagonal, graininess is visible to the naked eye.

The screen has an air gap. Yes, this is not OGS. The image does not float on the surface, but hides under the thickness of the protective panel. At the same time, I was pleasantly pleased with the wide viewing angles and natural color rendition.

According to measurements, the color gamut is almost the same as sRGB. Colorful temperature very stable over almost the entire range, only slightly exceeding the reference 6500K.

Subjectively, the image quality is very pleasant. You wouldn't expect to find a screen of this level on a device of this class.

The proposed contrast level is also frankly good – 1128:1. The gamma curve is not perfect, but the deviations are within reason.

You can try to adjust the image using MiraVision technology. The available parameters allow you to adjust color balance, contrast, saturation, sharpness, image tone, and enable dynamic contrast mode.

According to our measurements, the display brightness is adjustable in the range of 27–251 cD/m². The maximum value is not a record, but it is quite sufficient for you to be able to see the image on the screen outdoors, although not in bright sun - in such conditions the surface glares noticeably. But the minimum level is frankly too high. In the dark, with minimal external lighting, you may want to further reduce the screen brightness when the control is already at zero. In this case, you can experiment with software configuration utilities like Lux, but this is still not a full-fledged alternative.

There is no light sensor, the brightness is adjusted manually. To control the brightness, PWM is either not used at all, or a high frequency is used, which cannot be tracked visually. At least the tablet passes the “pencil” test without any problems.

As for the material from which the screen protective panel is made, the developer has added some intrigue here. Discussions about this are still ongoing online. In our opinion, in this case it is not glass that is used, but high-quality plastic. Time will tell how wear-resistant the material is. At first glance, it is quite durable. During testing it was not possible to scratch the surface. Although, of course, one can discuss this topic only after relatively long use.

There is no oleophobic coating, although fingers glide across the screen quite easily. The latter collects prints well, so perfectionists should immediately acquire microfiber cloths. To maintain perfect cleanliness, you will have to make an effort - the screen is reluctant to part with traces.

In the case of the white version of the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L, the tablet screen is edged with a silver insert around the perimeter. Acting as a decorative element, it also carries a practical load. The additional edge rises a fraction of a millimeter above the screen surface, providing minimal scratch protection when the tablet is placed on a flat surface.

The overall impression of the screen is positive. Without fear of repeating ourselves, we note that for its class, the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L has a very decent display. But this is often one of the main criteria when choosing a tablet.

Sound

The sound speakers are located at the top edge of the back side. The spectacular perforation in this area is not used by chance. In this case, three emitters are used, forming the so-called sound bar.

Using Dolby ATMOS technology, the manufacturer tried to expand the sound stage and partially succeeded. The speakers have a good volume reserve, but it is still worth considering that the emitters are located on the back side and are directed in the opposite direction from the user. In this case best effect is achieved if there is some kind of sound reflector nearby. The speaker placement used is a compromise. On the one hand, they cannot be closed by hand when holding the tablet in landscape orientation; on the other hand, higher power is required to obtain a comfortable volume level. The Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L definitely has no problems with this, although low frequencies very lacking.

The proposed utility for implementing Dolby ATMOS allows you to select several profiles for various tasks and voiceover conditions.

From interesting opportunities The tablet offers an FM tuner function. To listen to radio stations, you must connect headphones or a headset that will be used as external antenna. The reception is stable, the quality is quite acceptable.

Cameras

The tablet has two cameras. The rear 8 MP with autofocus takes photos of good quality, but you shouldn’t expect much from it.

The elaboration of details is quite weak, focusing is not very fast.

Trying to improve the quality of your photos, you can play with the settings. There are many options available here. You can adjust white balance, ISO sensitivity (100–1600), exposure (±3EV) or select HDR mode.

There is no additional flash, so you can only count on photos of acceptable quality in conditions of sufficient external lighting.

HDR is very useful in some cases.

The camera allows you to record video with a resolution of up to 1920×1080. The quality is not very high. Again, a lot depends on the shooting conditions.

Among the interesting features, we note the flicker compensation mode, which can come in handy if you are shooting video from a monitor screen or if there is a display in the frame on which “running stripes” are clearly visible.

The front camera is 5 megapixel without autofocus. She copes with her main task - creating selfies and transferring videos to Skype. Although, it should be noted that when shooting video, the resolution is limited to 640x480.

Operating system and software

Out of the box, the tablet is offered with Android 4.4. There is no need to wait for the update to Android 5.0 - it is already available. After connecting and setting up the network, the operating system can be updated to version 5.0.1. It was in this form that the tablet came to us for testing. In pristine condition with Android 4.4 used branded shell Lenovo Vibe UI. However, after the update, the original development of the manufacturer minimally reminds of itself.

Native Android 5.0 interface elements are used to a greater extent. There is practically no additional software. Let's mark the application for Reserve copy SYNCit HD, as well as WPS Office pre-installed.

Performance

The tablet's hardware platform is based on a MediaTek MT8732 processor operating at 1.7 GHz. This is a relatively new 64-bit mid-range chip that includes 4 cores with Cortex-A53 architecture. Nominally this model should operate at 1.5 GHz, but the manufacturer has slightly increased the SoC frequency. Note that after flashing Android 5.0.1, in many diagnostic utilities the processor is identified as MT6752. This is an identifier error. Alas, it is not yet possible to add 4 more computing cores just by changing the software.

The Mali-T760 MP2 is responsible for the graphics part. In terms of functionality, this is a very progressive video subsystem, but in this modification the GPU includes only 2 cores/clusters, so even the theoretical computing power is relatively small - 34 GFLOPS.

The tablet is equipped with 2 GB of RAM - a reasonable minimum for comfortable work in Android 5.0. After the system boots, about 950 MB are available for applications.

4510 points in the PCMark test indicate that no special problems are expected with the tablet's performance. There are no questions about the smooth operation of the interface. Minimal stuttering can be seen on very heavy pages in Chrome. Otherwise, the performance is quite sufficient for typical “tablet” tasks.

In 64-bit edition AnTuTu Benchmark v.5.7.1 the tablet scores about 34,000 points. Not so long ago, such values were typical for flagships, but by today's standards these are rather average indicators.

The tablet also receives very good marks according to the results of the GeekBench 3 test.

The speed performance of the internal storage is low. The linear read speed is very good - 142 MB/s, but I would like the sequential write speed to be higher - 12 MB/s. In random read/write operations, the drive shows 17/6.2 MB/s, respectively. Modestly, very modestly.

The Mali-T760 MP2 graphics supports OpenGL ES 3.1, allowing you to run the Sling Shot test from the 3DMark package in the most severe mode, in which the scene is rendered at a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels with subsequent scaling. Of course, the very ability to use such a mode is of certain value, but it is also necessary high performance, a graphics unit with two cores cannot provide this. The result is 260 points. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 on the Exynos 5433 chip with Mali-T760 graphics, but in the MP6 version (142.8 GFLOPS), scores 710 points in the same test. This suggests that Mali-760 in itself is a good sign, but in the case of MT8732 the video core is used in basic version, whose productivity is relatively low.

Well, let’s drive away despondency and frustration, look again at the price tag of the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L and continue the experiments. The tablet's results in various versions of the Ice Storm subtest are quite good, which gives reason for moderate optimism.

The performance in the classic Epic Citadel once again demonstrates that at maximum high quality The Mali-T760 MP2 graphics are not so easy to handle rendering, especially in the tablet's native mode. As the resolution decreases, performance increases noticeably.

At the same time, you can adjust fps by reducing the quality of graphics. In High Quality mode, even at 1920x1128, we got 54 fps, instead of 34 fps in Ultra High Quality. Obviously, similar techniques will have to be used in real games, which provide the ability to adjust the graphics quality. In maximum modes, the tablet will not always be able to provide acceptable performance.

A few words about the purely gaming capabilities of the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L. Performance in World Of Tanks Blitz largely depends on graphics settings. In mode Low quality We have very comfortable 45–60 fps with which it is a pleasure to play. On medium fps settings sags to 25–30, and with high ones you can see 10–15 fps, especially when using sniper mode. In general, performance in this game varies quite widely and greatly depends on the complexity of the current scene. Here, what is more important to someone: getting maximum smoothness with somewhat simplified textures or putting up with a not very high fps value, but with a more saturated and clear picture.

In Asphalt 8, a subjectively acceptable number of frames can be obtained by selecting a mode that assumes average quality. At high levels, the increasing sluggishness of control is already clearly felt. For such a dynamic arcade game you need more fps.

Modern Combat 5 is quite playable, although it feels like it could use more powerful hardware for complete comfort.

You can build a card strategy in Hearthstone for your own pleasure. During the gaming session, everything is quite cheerful. Small jitters occur during transient processes.

Something similar could be observed in game Need For Speed No Limits. There is some lag in the interface, while during races the frame rendering speed is quite acceptable. But the resolution for the game is automatically set noticeably lower than the native one.

Overall, the graphics performance is not bad, but if you are interested in the tablet primarily as a gaming platform, then it is better to look for a more powerful solution. Alas, it will cost significantly more than the TAB 2 A10-70L.

Autonomy

Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L has a 7000 mAh (26.6 Wh) battery. Considering a fairly economical platform, you can count on good autonomy.

In the battery life test from the PCMark package, the tablet lasted 9 hours and 28 minutes. At the same time, the screen brightness corresponded to 150 cD/m² (57%), and Wi-Fi was turned on. At the end of the test, there was still 19% charge left, which is at least an hour of work in approximately the same mode.

The common database of the Futuremark test application for a similar model stores results with 12 hours battery life. They may have been received with the brightness level at a minimum and wireless interfaces disabled. One way or another, we can say for sure that the Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70L will last more than 10 hours with a fairly high computing load. For a 10-inch model with classic dimensions and a high-resolution screen, the result is very good. To discharge a tablet in a day, you need to try very hard. On average, the charge will last for 2-3 days.

Due to the high capacity of the battery, it does not charge very quickly. It will take about 3.5–4 hours to replenish the charge from 10% to 100%. At the same time, the process itself proceeds evenly, there are no accelerations at the start. There is no event indicator, so you can find out about the status by turning on the tablet.

It is highly advisable to use a standard power supply and cable or similar chargers that can provide a current of up to 2 A. Less powerful smartphone power supplies can significantly increase the charging time.

When charging the battery during high load, the battery's vitality is replenished slowly. For clarity, after half an hour of playing Dead Trigger 2 with a power supply connected, the charge was restored by only 7% - from 12% to 19%.

Note that the USB connector is not located in the center of the panel, but is slightly shifted towards the top edge. In this case, it is convenient to hold the tablet in landscape mode even when it is connected to the charger.

Heat

Even under high gaming loads, the tablet body heats up very little. The upper left corner warms up the most; the processor is located approximately in this zone. After an hour-long session, the body temperature in this place increased to 42 degrees. If you hold the tablet in the recommended position, then the heat in the palm area is not felt at all.

Communications

The tablet is equipped with dual-band (2.4/5 GHz) Wi-Fi module, supporting 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 protocols. We did not observe any particular problems with Wi-Fi stability. During testing, the connection was interrupted several times, seemingly for no apparent reason, but it is quite possible that this is a feature of the operation of a particular tablet-router combination (TL-WR1043ND) or channel congestion. Everything was “treated” in the traditional way for such cases - by reconnecting the connection.

Paired with the fresh TP-LINK Touch P5 router, such questions did not arise at all. Moreover, with such a source it was possible to obtain very good data transfer speeds: reading – up to 85 MB/s, writing – up to 63 MB/s.

The TAB 2 A10-70L tablet version also supports 3G/LTE, however voice functions in this case disabled. Data transfer and SMS/MMS sending are available. The supported positioning systems are GPS, Glonass and Beidou.

OTG capabilities can be used to connect various peripherals. If necessary, this can be at least LAN card USB-Ethernet, which will allow you to connect via wired network(tested - works).

Price

In Ukraine, only one modification is officially offered at the moment - Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L with 16 GB of memory, which is equipped with a 3G/LTE modem. The recommended cost of this version is 7000 UAH. At the same time, in fact, devices intended for other markets are available for sale, which are noticeably cheaper. Note that versions without 3G/LTE are designated as TAB 2 A10-70F. These models use the MediaTek MT8165 processor, which differs from the MT8237 only in the absence of a unit for working with 3G/LTE.

Modifications of tablets with 32 GB of internal memory are also available. And this is very helpful. In 16 GB models, 11 GB are available to the user and this space fills up very quickly. Memory cards allow me to partially relieve the load on the main storage, but under Android 5.0 on external flash Not all applications can be transferred.

Results

Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L– 10.1-inch tablet with a very attractive price/functionality ratio. The model is built on a mid-class hardware platform, is equipped with a good IPS screen with a resolution of 1920×1200, has 2 GB of memory and a 3G/LTE modem. Yes, perhaps all this is wrapped in a not very impressive package, but for its class the tablet body is quite acceptable. If you look at the cost of the device and then try to pick up a similar tablet in the same price category, it turns out that this mission is impossible. For $200–$300, there are generally very few 10-inch tablet offerings that feature a screen with Full resolution HD+. If to important criteria selecting to add the presence of the current processor, Android support 5.0 and good autonomy, then the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L will not have any real rivals in the list of alternatives. The device has a number of disadvantages, and for some they may be critical, but the obvious advantages of the considered model are still more significant. In any case, if you are choosing a large tablet, but are not ready to spend a lot of money, the Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L is definitely worthy of being on the list of possible candidates for purchase.

Package

The tablet is sold in a white cardboard box, with an image of the device printed on the entire front part. WITH reverse side- specification and features.

Opening the box, we find a tablet, under which is the delivery package:
- Two operating instructions
- Two warranty cards
- 2 Amp charger
- Micro USB cable for connecting to a computer or charging
- A sheet with a list of equipment

Appearance and features

The tablet is made of plastic, the design has no backlashes or creaks.

Front 2-megapixel camera, no proximity or light sensors.

The case itself is made of Soft Touch blue plastic, pleasant to the touch and does not leave marks or small scratches. It doesn't slip in your hands and is easy to hold with one hand. In the middle is the manufacturer's logo and a sticker with technical information.

5 megapixel main camera with autofocus.

Now we're getting closer to one of the features of this tablet - these are two stereo speakers. One of the speakers has the Dolby logo on it, it's there for a reason. This company has introduced Atmos technology to improve the sound quality. Dolby Atmos is multi-channel audio without increasing the channels, giving the sound a surround sound experience. As I heard about this technology on one of the forums - “Dolby atmosphere”.

When describing the tablet, landscape orientation was taken as the most optimal.

On the right side there is a 3.5 mm mini-jack connector; when connecting headphones, Dolby Atmos technology also works.

And on the left side are located:
- Micro SD slot for memory cards up to 64 GB and a full SIM card for mobile Internet
-Micro USB connector
- Volume rocker and power button (even though they are located in unusual place, pressing them is not difficult at all, the pressing is smooth and soft).

A microphone is located above the camera. I would like to see 2 microphones, because, in my opinion, one is clearly not enough.

Screen

The tablet screen has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels, pixels are visible to the naked eye. Initially, the thought flashed through why they didn’t make 1920x1080, but, as it turned out, the processor does not support resolutions higher than 720p. The screen, in my opinion, is very bright, so much so that when exposed minimum value in complete darkness it hurts the eyes.

Viewing angles from any angle provide a good picture and do not distort colors.

Up to 10 simultaneous clicks are recognized, although clicks are not always recognized correctly.

None protective coating there is no screen, and if there is, it is very weak. The screen collects fingerprints and stains perfectly.

System and performance

The tablet has operating system Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). I hope this tablet will continue to be updated to newer ones Android versions. At the bottom of the screen there are three touch buttons - back, home, running applications manager, they are backlit. In some tablets, these buttons are not backlit, which causes discomfort in the dark.

The curtain familiar to everyone, in which you can go to settings, power manager, google profile and change the screen brightness. You can also turn on/off Wi-Fi, bleutooch, mobile Internet, airplane mode, sleep, auto rotate, geolocation, hotspot, alarm clock and a special Dolby application.

Of the pre-installed applications, I would like to highlight the most interesting:
McAfree Security is a free antivirus.
ES Explorer is a convenient file manager.
SYNCit HD is an application to backup/restore contacts, SMS and call log.
SHAREit - exchange of data/files via Wi-Fi.
Dolby is a specialized utility for tuning speakers.
I’ll tell you more about the latter.

In order to customize the sound of the speakers, it is proposed to select 4 profiles - movies, music, games, voice. If you are not satisfied with these profiles for some reason, you can always customize everything yourself by adjusting the equalizer and turning on or off additional functions. I want to say a little more about Dolby Atmos technology. The essence of this technology is that sound accompanies the picture. For example, the movement of a car from left to right is displayed in the speakers, and a surround sound effect is created.
The video is not in Russian, but you can understand the meaning.

You won’t be able to make calls from a tablet like you would from a phone, since this option is not implemented. On the other hand, who would think of calling from such a “colossus”, and most likely it would be inconvenient. But you can send SMS, but nowadays rarely anyone uses SMS, mostly - special programs for communication.

The processor installed is not “new” and its performance does not shine, but at the same time it practically does not heat up. If you use the tablet in games, the back of the case does not heat up. But I have a question regarding the processor frequency. On the Qualcomm manufacturer's website, this processor (Snapdragon 210 with an integrated LTE module) is listed with a frequency of 1.1 GHz. In our case, 1.3 GHz, perhaps some kind of boost was made to the processor or the characteristics were simply increased. The tablet itself, without third-party software, shows a frequency of 1.1 GHz. 11.13 GB of 16 GB of internal memory are available to us.

We also have the opportunity to configure our device to distribute the Internet, in other words, to organize an access point.

As for the test results, the tablet’s hardware doesn’t stand out in any way. The processor, like the video core, produces weak results. RAM 1 GB for regular user enough if you don’t open 15-20 bookmarks in the browser and other intensive tasks. Of course, 2 GB would be better. Overall, the tablet works quickly and without any lag. The graphics core is Qualcomm Adreno 304, which is only slightly faster in performance than the ARM Mali-400 MP4.

Despite the weak processor, you can play games comfortably, although only not very demanding ones. By the way, there are very few good games for Android devices. I can't wait to play on budget tablets computer games 2011. For now, we can only hope that the wait will not be long.

Camera

The main camera takes good pictures only in daylight hours days, in the dark it’s already bad, it’s already difficult to make out anything. This 5-megapixel camera takes pictures in a resolution of 2592x1944, and videos in 1280x720. The front camera also doesn’t stand out in any way, but it’s good for communicating via Skype or another instant messenger. It takes photos at 1600x1200 resolution and even shoots video at 1280x720. Not all devices have a front camera that can shoot video, especially in HD resolution.

Panorama shooting is also available, and for more detailed photos you can use manual settings: ISO, shutter speed and many others.

Another main feature of this tablet is its 7000 mAh battery. Typically, both in tablets and smartphones, manufacturers install a battery of up to 4000 mAh. Lenovo decided to go a different route by installing a high-capacity battery. Thus, the user does not limit himself in using the device. In the mode of watching videos and surfing the Internet continuously, the tablet worked for 10 hours 45 minutes. In standby mode it can work up to 117 days, which is a very impressive result. Also in the power manager you can see what exactly consumes the most energy.

There are no problems with orientation on the terrain either. The tablet confidently finds satellites and quite quickly.

Conclusion:

The tablet turned out to be quite good. A large, bright display paired with a capacious battery allows you to enjoy working on your tablet and not have to bother searching for the nearest outlet for a long time. And for lovers high-quality sound I was even luckier, because with such stereo speakers listening to music and watching movies is a pleasure. Dolby helped with this by introducing its technologies. There are no problems with the Internet either, if you want 4G, get it, LTE - yes, please. I would like the main camera to be better, but this is more my wish than a minus. Both work and entertainment are always at hand. Thus, this tablet can be safely recommended for purchase.

Pros of Lenovo Tab 2 A10-30

- Very good stereo speakers
- 7000 mAh capacitive battery
- Does not heat up during operation
