What antivirus software? What paid antiviruses are relevant? Paid antivirus programs - which antivirus is the best?

Every day, users wonder about security on their computer. In this article, we will figure out which antivirus to choose, what you need to start with, and what you should pay attention to first.

So, which antivirus should you choose? First of all, you need to decide for yourself whether you are ready to pay for your safety? Only after this can you start choosing an antivirus. Since I don't know about your choice, I'll look at both options.

Let's start with paid Antiviruses

Kaspersky (Kaspersky)— perhaps one of the most reliable antiviruses, has great amount fans, protects against all types of infection and has a lot of settings, which is not unimportant, be careful - an incorrectly configured Kaspersky antivirus can cause you a lot of inconvenience, and will be no more useful than a free one. If you are willing to pay for the safety of your PC, then you can undoubtedly purchase this antivirus on the official website, but I want to warn you that this antivirus is very “gluttonous”, it will be an excellent protector of your computer, but at the same time it will “eat up” a lot of power your PC. If you have old computer or its power leaves much to be desired, then this antivirus is not for you, otherwise it will simply become your headache.

Dr.web (doctor web)great program for use both on a home PC and for office use. Doctor Web antivirus has proven itself to be an excellent computer healer; it very quickly recognizes malware, spyware, Trojans, worms, spam advertisements and much more. A huge plus of this antivirus Given its resource intensity, the operation of the Dr.web program is practically unnoticeable, which makes it easy to use even on a very weak computer. Although many say that its resource intensity greatly affects its performance.

ESET NOD32 (nod 32)– a good antivirus for home use. A significant advantage of node 32 was its easy interface. Like Doctor Web, it does not consume many computer resources. But I often hear from many people that NOD32 does not scan the computer thoroughly enough, as if not so deeply and misses some directories that are located somewhere far away in your PC system. From this we can conclude that after such a check, worms and Trojans may remain that have penetrated deeper into the system.

Avast– in my opinion, Avast antivirus is the golden mean, this is the antivirus I use now. The reason for choosing this antivirus was habit, about 7 years ago I went to the Internet to download some free antivirus, then panda antivirus was advertised all around, but for some reason I downloaded avast and use it successfully, in fact it failed me several times , but only due to my negligence - I did not update it for a long time. The Avasta scanner scans threats quite well different categories, does not consume many resources of your computer. The downside of this program has always been one thing: it practically did not help if it was installed on an already infected PC; in essence, this meant that Avast did a poor job of treating infected objects. I would like to tell you that the other day I reinstalled friend windows and forgot to install the antivirus, within a day he runs back and says, Vanek, a lot of ads crash in my browser every time I open a new tab. I naturally responded to this - handsome, you found it quickly……… I was already thinking about changing Windows again, but I decided to try installing Avast first and my surprise knew no bounds when within 15 minutes the infected files were found and sent to quarantine.

So, the first conclusion is which antivirus to choose? If you are willing to pay and the computer is powerful enough, we buy Kaspersky antivirus. If the computer is weak or old, then we without a doubt download the Doctor Web or Nod32 antivirus.

If needed good protection and you are not ready to pay a lot and risk your safety, we download Avast antivirus.

I would like to draw your attention, no matter what antivirus you choose, you MUST update it daily, now they are updated automatically every day by default, you periodically need permission and that’s it, so when a sign appears in the lower right corner asking you to update the antivirus, we do not click on the cross with in words: ahhhh later, now there’s no time, but click allow update or install update. Modern providers provide fairly fast reception and transmission of data over the Internet, so it will take a few minutes, no more. Don’t try your luck by risking the safety of your computer; there will always be a smart guy who was just waiting for this risk from you.

Now let's look at free antiviruses

AVG (Aug) is one of the very common antiviruses that can be used for free. Based on the results of use, we can say that this antivirus works well and quickly finds most known vulnerabilities. But it wouldn't be a bad thing, the program makes too many requests and thereby causes a load, so many of the most weak computers they just start to freeze. You have to reboot to work normally again, so I would choose such an application only if the PC power allows it.

Avira (avira)– when I installed this antivirus, I was slightly at a loss, it looked for infected files perfectly, it worked like a “rapid fire”. But I was upset by the stories of many people that this antivirus very stupidly intercepts files on the fly and indeed it recognizes threats for the most part after infection. That is, he first allows my PC to be infected, and then finds this threat and eliminates it, I don’t know about you, but I was outraged.

Agree, it is not very good to first allow a problem to arise and only then begin to solve it. In fact, if someone wanted to get passwords from my PC, and they succeeded, and then they turned it off. The fact is that I will lose the data anyway. Therefore, this option will not triple me.

Avast– it’s a bit of a misconception, it seems like you just read about it in paid antiviruses, but the Avasta developers have come up with a cool feature, you download the demo version of the program and then literally go through it in a couple of clicks easy registration. We go into the settings and see that the period of official use has changed from 30 days to 365 days, that is, we received an antivirus for free for a year, I don’t know about you, but I really liked it. Read more about this antivirus, its advantages,
correct setting and the official free version is described.

The second conclusion is that if there is no paid antivirus on your PC, then I recommend installing Avast and not bothering. Many people call it a “blind kitten” - bullshit, often paid Kaspersky cannot solve the problem with the virus, just don’t forget to update. I told you my opinion, now the choice is yours. There is no perfect protection
but you can always choose the best of what is available. The most reliable protection has always been and will remain unchanged - this is your knowledge.

I hope you have understood your choice a little and were still able to choose something for yourself; in the future we will consider each antivirus in detail. If you like the article, I look forward to your comments, thoughts and additions.

Using the Internet, it is very easy to “catch” a virus or inadvertently download spyware or other software onto your computer. harmful, application. You need resources to protect your PC, including antivirus solutions. There are both free and commercial ones, and the choice is quite wide. What antiviruses are good? First, let's look at the features of some commercial offers. Let one of them be Russian, and the other foreign.

The main thing about Kaspersky

Among the most popular paid antivirus programs in the world is a product from Kaspersky Lab. The 2014 distribution is capable of protecting not only from viruses and Trojans, but also from spyware applications and advertising scripts. Just like most modern antiviruses, the Kaspersky program can identify threats for which information is not in the database. For this purpose, heuristic analysis is used.

The main functions of the program from Kaspersky:

  • tracking virus attacks, treatment of files in real time;
  • checking programs for reputation;
  • analysis and identification of malicious codes in Internet traffic (links);
  • monitoring the system for suspicious software actions.

The modern version of Kaspersky antivirus is compatible with the latest operating systems, such as Windows 8.1. The proactive protection policy implemented by this solution includes monitoring sites on which malicious modules are installed and warning the user in advance about identified threats when attempting to enter such web resources. Experts note the adaptability of the antivirus to optimal use PC resources.

Kaspersky program: activation nuances

For many years, special antivirus keys were required from Kaspersky to activate the distribution (using such a scheme is common). But since August 2013, the methodology of this process has changed. You can activate Kaspersky Anti-Virus only using a special code online, that is, Internet access is required. Prerequisite successful completion of this procedure is a correctly set system date.

Kaspersky and promotion from Yandex

There is an interesting precedent in the history of the Russian IT industry. Users had the opportunity to observe a rather unusual guise in which Kaspersky anti-virus was - the Yandex version of the product. In December 2011, two large Russian IT companies - Yandex and Kaspersky Labs - decided to carry out an unusual action.

Users from Russia and several other neighboring countries had the opportunity to use a full-fledged product from Kaspersky, released in a co-branded version with Yandex, completely free of charge. IN in this case It would be fairest to say that in this form, Kaspersky Anti-Virus is a trial version. The fact is that the validity period of the license for the program as part of the promotion was not very long - 6 months. Participants also had the opportunity to purchase standard antivirus Kaspersky with a 20% discount.

The promotion included a number of restrictions. In particular, for the version of the antivirus distributed through Yandex, there was no technical support. If the user had difficulties mastering the program, he was recommended to turn to the resources of the Kaspersky Lab knowledge base.

By now the action has ended. Now you can use Kaspersky Lab products for free only if you download trial antivirus, which works for 30 days.

NOD: strong competitor from Slovakia

One of the most famous competitors of the antivirus from Kaspersky Lab is a product produced by the Slovak company ESET. It's about about the NOD32 program (in Russia it is often called simply “NOD”). Its main functions are the same as those of most analogues: “catching” viruses, “Trojans”, advertising applications, protection against phishing, etc. The program has its own heuristic analysis algorithm called ThreatSense.

Users and domain experts information security note low level consumption of computer resources by the antivirus, as well as low intensity of Internet traffic use when updating databases and main software modules. The security system works, for the most part, in the background. Some experts believe that this antivirus is one of the best in terms of file scanning speed.

The ESET software package also includes Smart app Security. Its main functions:

  • email monitoring, blocking malicious scripts, spam filtering;
  • detection and removal of spyware email programs;
  • protects your computer from connections from outside (the application acts as a firewall).

Also Smart Security characterized by many experts as a solution that consumes a minimum system resources.

According to many experts, GOD is an antivirus that can easily be ranked on par with the world's leading products.

The only difficulty noted by antivirus users is that by default there is no option to select for scanning separate disks. However, this option can be enabled through the program settings menu. Additional features for antivirus users are available in large quantities in the paid version. Some users describe Lavasoft as not the most productive solution. Even in the background there is active consumption of software RAM.

AVG: simplicity and functionality

AVG is another free antivirus. The program interface, as users note, is very simple. It is a list of icons indicating a particular module antivirus protection. System scanning functions are located on the side panel of the window. Just like many other antiviruses, there is a Scan Now button, when clicked, a comprehensive scan of the entire computer is performed.

AVG package contains a large number of additional modules. For example, those that are designed to protect email, filter web traffic. Another drawback of AVG antivirus is its rather complex interface. You can get confused. In order to scan a specific disk or other storage medium, you have to perform several consistent actions. In addition, to use some options you need to enable special treatment, which is called “expert”, while in many other antivirus programs this option is available in the main menu of the program. There are, however, some disadvantages: it cannot scan email and does not contain anti-phishing modules. While other antiviruses even include such features in the free version.

According to users, the Microsoft product is characterized by an average level of performance.

Pros and cons of free antiviruses

Without claiming to be the ultimate truth, we will try to summarize the pros and cons of each of the free antiviruses in our review. Based, of course, on user reviews. We will not determine which antiviruses are good and which are not. We will highlight the strong and weak sides everyone.

If speed is important to the user, then it makes sense to pay attention to Avira, even despite the platform’s shortcomings in the form of confusing interface elements. According to some users, the creators of this antivirus should definitely work on appearance product. If they do this, Avira will have a great chance to get closer to the market leaders.

Avast antivirus may become optimal choice for those users who do not gravitate towards an in-depth study of program settings. The performance of the product is quite good. The interface is clear and pleasant. Advertising, if you do not pay attention to it, does not interfere with working with the program at all. Many users will want to get a free antivirus for 1 year with the functionality that Avast has.

Solutions from Lavasoft and AVG are praised by users for their good functionality. For some users, it is important which antiviruses are good in terms of the capabilities that their creators have endowed them with.

We focus on the rating

Users' opinions about certain software products subjective. Attempts are now being made to formulate an objective rating of antiviruses. Let's see who does it and what are the results of their work.

The research methods of the Safety-Gate portal are recognized by the Russian IT community as one of the most effective. Therefore, we will take the rating of antiviruses according to the experts of this organization. Satefy-Gate conducts tests of solutions from various global manufacturers every quarter. Testing sessions are called On-Demand (checking “on demand”, that is, in manual mode scanning). In the second quarter of 2014, the Safety-Gate portal tested the effectiveness of 26 solutions, both commercial and free. Let's look at the overall results and how the antiviruses in our review fare.

During testing, the programs had to identify as many of the 3,266 infected people as possible. malicious code files prepared by Safety-Gate specialists. The number of detected viruses was expressed as a percentage, rounded to the nearest hundredth. That is, if, for example, the program found 3000 infected files, then the result was recorded as 91.86%.

Let's look at the distribution of places in the top ten rankings.

  • The first place was taken by the Ashampoo antivirus, its indicator is 98.96% or about 3232 viruses found.
  • In second place (with a very slight lag) is the Slovak product ESED NOD32, which found 98.71% of infected files.
  • The third and fourth places were shared by solutions from TrustPort (Total Protection and Internet Security, respectively). The first received a result of 98.07%, while the second lagged behind, managing to find only 95.71% of viruses.
  • The top 5 ranking included the Emsisoft Anti-Malwre program with a score of 95.34%.
  • In sixth place is the antivirus from our Avira review. The program was able to find 95.22% of infected files.
  • The seventh result was shown by the 360 Internet Security antivirus, having managed to detect 94.76% of programs with malicious code.
  • Eighth place was taken by the Russian Dr.Web, showing a result of 94.3%.
  • In ninth place is HitmanPro antivirus, which was able to detect 93.63% of infected files.
  • The eScan Internet Security product took tenth place, showing a result of 93.57%.
  • What place does Kaspersky antivirus have? One of the most popular Russian solutions showed a rather modest result, taking 12th place. The program found 92.92% of infected files.

How do the remaining antiviruses in our review fare? Even lower.

AVG took 14th place, detecting 92.22% of infected files. Avast is in 16th place, having managed to find 91.64% of viruses. Microsoft Security Essencials and Lavasoft have not been tested by experts.

This is the rating of antiviruses according to the Safety-Gate portal. This is, of course, one of dozens or even hundreds of possible rankings, but it allows you to get a rough idea of the quality of solutions for protecting your PC from malicious codes. If you go by the Safety-Gate rating, then the best demons paid antiviruses The 2014 ones we reviewed were Avira and Avast. The first one was ahead of the decision from Kaspersky. The best paid antivirus from our review, judging by the test results, is Satefy-Gate, which is NOD32.

Having studied the general data on the leading antivirus brands and examined the test results, we can also pay attention to some expert advice regarding the criteria for choosing the optimal solution for protecting your PC from malicious codes.

Experts do not recommend using “hacked” (“cracked”) versions of antiviruses downloaded from free torrents and other portals of this type. It often happens that installation files These programs are already infected with malicious code. In addition, manufacturers of modern antiviruses have learned to build reliable algorithms for identifying pirated versions. Most likely, an illegal copy of the program will quickly be detected and will no longer be serviced (new databases and software components will no longer be downloaded). Experts note that due to the tightening Russian providers search results filtering policies regarding pirated copies programs, searching for unlicensed versions of antiviruses or “keys” for them will take a lot of time. Analysts advise spending money on purchasing a legal copy of the software and saving time.

IT specialists do not recommend choosing antiviruses based on the criteria of “lightness”: small amount of space occupied disk space, low rates of RAM consumption, low processor load, etc. According to experts, quality program protecting your computer from threats cannot be “lightweight”. An antivirus performs many functions, and this cannot happen without using system resources. Experts note that most modern computers equipped with sufficient RAM and hard drives in order to ignore the PC performance requirements recommended by software manufacturers. If it turns out that the system’s power is not enough, then it is preferable to upgrade it individual components than changing your antivirus to a less demanding one. The only difficulty is that by default there is no option to select individual drives for scanning, but this option can be enabled through the program settings menu.

We reviewed the main anti-virus programs, which, according to their criteria, occupy leading positions in the ratings. All of these programs are compatible with the Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. Of course, the main indicator when choosing antivirus software is the security and protection of data stored on the computer. But when choosing antivirus software, you should also consider the power of your computer.

Which antivirus is better to choose for Windows 7?

operating room Windows system 7 was created in such a way that it has built-in functional protection, which is several times greater than previous versions of the OS. And everything seems to be fine, but the “evil geniuses” who develop malware are one step ahead, and their pest programs penetrate the system, infecting and destroying everything in its path. Therefore, like any other version of the OS, Windows 7 needs additional protection. This means that you definitely need to install an antivirus program on your computer.

But what is the best antivirus program to choose? There is no clear answer to this question. Of the programs we have listed, all are considered good, but none of them guarantees 100% protection for you.

When choosing an antivirus, keep in mind that operating system can be 32-bit or 64-bit. Antivirus software is developed specifically for each type. And, of course, computer parameters. If they are very weak, then an antivirus like Kaspersky will simply slow down all the work.

Also, when choosing an antivirus, you need to decide what kind of work you need a computer for. If you use a computer to play games or surf the Internet, then Avast is suitable for you ( free version). If you also work on it, then, by the way, Kaspersky (paid) will suit you. So, the choice is yours!

Which antivirus is better to choose for Windows 8 and 10?

The Windows 8 operating system, like its predecessor, is equipped with a basic level of protection. Each new OS version has expanded and improved security features. Finally, we see that Windows 8 has reached the point where programmers claim that this system is so developed and debugged that it can easily protect itself without antivirus software. But after weighing all the pros and cons, we still recommend installing an antivirus on your computer.

Since Windows 8 is significantly different from previous versions, then not every antivirus program is suitable for this system.

And yet, which antivirus is best to install to ensure stable work systems and secure your computer? Hand on heart, we can safely say that Kaspersky antivirus is ideal for Windows 8. It was this company that was the first to “conquer” and adapt antivirus software for Windows 8. The system’s operation with this antivirus is stable and safe.

Antiviruses such as NOD32 and Avast have also performed well in terms of system protection and stability.

To summarize, we can conclude that the choice of antivirus program is yours personal choice and we have no right to impose our opinion on you, but please give advice on choosing a particular antivirus program. There is no need to chase popularity and brand, this is not always an indicator of quality. And also follow the reviews of friends and acquaintances, because every user praises the antivirus that he uses. But, be that as it may, the choice is yours. Make no mistake, read, take a closer look, because the security of your computer depends on your choice.

In this article I want to talk about which is the best antivirus to install at home. I prepared short review antiviruses that I use myself.

So, after analyzing antivirus products for a long time, I came to the following conclusions.

First on my list is Eset NOD 32

A pretty good antivirus, it has absolutely everything that will help protect your computer from malicious programs and files, and also ensure safe surfing on the Internet. At the program clear interface, there are detailed statistics,

computer scanning, very handy tool to view quarantined files. To go to settings eset nod 32, just press the hotkey – f5.

The antivirus does not slow down the system at all. For example, if you play a game and run a scan of your computer at the same time, you will not experience a noticeable decrease in performance.

Exceptions are also very convenient to configure.

This setting is needed in order to avoid the following situation: when installing a certain program, the antivirus “swears” that this program contains a virus. But you are one hundred percent sure that this is a normal, high-quality program and there are no viruses there. Open settings with hotkey f5 and add this program to the exclusion list (write the path where it is saved on your hard drive), and then proceed with the installation.

Also, this antivirus has an important advantage: it does not scream, does not throw you out of applications or games when it finds a virus, it simply blocks it, silently, without distracting you over trifles, you won’t even notice it if you don’t want to.

Advice: There are viruses that disable the services that run this antivirus, to avoid this, and to protect your computer by 99%, set a password in the nod 32 settings.

Let's move on to the next antivirus, Kaspersky Anti-Virus

Quite a good combine, there are many various functions, the purpose of which the average user does not even know.

Eat convenient statistics(reports), where you can find a lot of useful and not so useful information. It does its job perfectly, protects your computer well from malware and files, and allows you to surf the Internet safely without fear of infecting your computer. I advise installing this antivirus only for those who have a computer above average in terms of characteristics, because if you install it on a weak computer, your fast computer will become two or even three times slower than the previous one.

There is one more very serious disadvantage. Imagine that you are playing an online game and go to a raid (who is playing Online Games he will understand me =)) or watch a movie at night, with headphones on, and then a disgusting deafening screech is heard, this is Kaspersky telling you that it has discovered a virus. At the same time, it minimizes all applications and waits for your decision on what to do with this file.

It even has virtual keyboard, well, why is it needed?!

Download trial version for 30 days is possible.

Rounding out my list is Avast - any version

The most leaky of all antiviruses =) I have never seen such a sieve. He is generally silent to himself, does not bother anyone, provides best surfing on the Internet =) If you don’t believe me, infect your computer with a harmless virus on purpose, there are plenty of them on the Internet, but if you don’t find them, contact me, I’ll help =) Avast will ignore it, won’t even grunt, it’s been verified. Then tear down Avast and install Kaspersky or Nod 32, they will immediately tear this harmless antivirus to pieces. In general, I do not advise anyone to install this antivirus.

Let's summarize:

Eset Nod32 – Should be installed on weak machines. It’s also possible for strong ones. The antivirus is suitable for people who love peace and idyll at their workplace.

Kaspersky – Should only be installed on strong computers. Suitable for users who want to be aware of what is going on in their workplace, as well as those who like to dig deeper into the program and find a description of items they do not understand.

Avast - install only for your enemies.

In this article, you learned my opinion about three antiviruses; of course, it’s up to you to decide which one to install. I advise you to install it on your home computer Antivirus Nod 32, trust an experienced person.

Do not stand aside, dear readers, write what you think about this, your opinion is important to me. Share what antiviruses you use and why.
