Hi all! Today I want to tell you how to go to the beginning of a conversation on VK from your computer and phone in order to read the very first message in a dialogue or conversation. In fact, it can be really interesting to see what you talked about with a person many years ago. This is how I read the correspondence with my wife when we first met many, many years ago. Copy the above character set, but without the dot. And then go to your messages and select the dialogue that you want to watch from the very beginning.

After that, insert these characters at the end of the address bar so that you get something like this (see screenshot). Well, now just press Enter.

In a couple of seconds you will see the very first message that was written in this correspondence. From what you read, a smile should appear on your face, unless of course the first dialogue took place yesterday. When I tried to go to the beginning of the dialogue on VK yesterday from my computer, I searched through all the messages with people important to me. The fastest way to return to the beginning of the dialogue in VK

For example, I will want to read the first message that was written in a blogger chat (those who studied at Borisov’s school). I roughly remember that I got there at the end of 2016, that is, somewhere in December. This is what I will build on.

As it turned out, at that time we were already chatting with all our might, so these messages were far from the beginning of the correspondence. But I know for sure that it was December, so I won’t poke at the calendar again. Instead, you can simply hold down the PgUp (Page Up) button and wait a couple of seconds. There you go. As it turned out, on December 7, 2016, I entered into this conversation.

Of course, the method of jumping to an entry by date in this case is not the most convenient, but it also has a right to life. Still, admit that we came to the first message quite quickly.

Smartphone

Unfortunately, none of the functions presented above can help you go to the very beginning of the dialogue in VK. When calling the context menu there is not even a return function. I even tried logging in not through the application, but through the browser, but the result was the same. Even if you write the code &msgid=1 , you will again be left with nothing.

What to do then? The only way out that I see in this situation is to switch to the full version of the browser. And then work according to the three methods that I indicated above.

Especially if you have been on this social network for several years, it means you have a lot of correspondence. How to find the right messages, the right information on VKontakte very quickly?

Search for the desired message in all VKontakte dialogues

To search through all the dialogues on your VK page, you need to click on MY MESSAGES in the left VK menu, and in the search bar SEARCH FOR MESSAGES OR INTERLOCENTS, in this line you need to enter your search query.

How to go to the message you are looking for in dialogues?

After you have found the desired message, you need to go to the correspondence to which your found word or phrase relates, to do this, simply click on the text of the correspondence (message) itself.

Your correspondence will open with the message you were looking for found, the tab is called VIEWING DIALOGS.

If you want to return to your search, you simply need to click on the adjacent SEARCH RESULTS tab. Searching for keywords or phrases will open up right where you left off. To cancel the search, in the search bar on the right, click on the word CANCEL.

Go to the left menu, select MY MESSAGES, then click on correspondence with the person with whom you corresponded. At the top right, look for the word ACTIONS, click and the menu will appear, select SEARCH BY MESSAGE HISTORY

Next, enter the desired word or search phrase into the search window and press SEARCH.

The search results will appear to you, similarly to the search for all dialogs, if you put the searched word or phrase in quotation marks, then the words will be searched without changes. The search results will highlight your search results in dark gray.

If you know the approximate date of your correspondence with the person, you can narrow your search using the date search filter.

To do this, as I already wrote to you above, in the search bar next to the SEARCH button there is a picture of a calendar; by clicking on it, you can select a date to search for the required phrase or word.

After clicking on the calendar, a window will open with the calendar of the current month, here you can select the required date.

Also, by clicking on the inscription itself, in my case “August 2016,” you can select another month or even year to search. To do this, you just need to click on the arrows. To go to a specific year or month, you just need to click on it.

When you click on the date, month, year, the search you need will occur and the search results will appear in the window. In this case, the search results will include results up to and including the specified date.

By clicking on the calendar icon, below the numbers, you will see the inscription RESET FILTERING BY DATE - click to reset the date filter.

There are times when there is no need to search for a certain phrase or request, you just need to look at the correspondence for a certain date. I'll show you now how to do it.

The following search window will appear, where you can immediately select the date you are interested in for searching, and the search results will show messages up to and including the date you selected. The search will take place without taking into account keywords, but simply until a specific date.

If you were once sent any materials or files (photos, videos, etc.) in correspondence, you can find them and watch them again.

To do this, you need to go to MY MESSAGES, go into correspondence with a specific person and then click in the upper right corner ACTIONS - SHOW ATTACHMENTS

Next, you will need to select what you want to search for: photos, videos, audio recordings (music) or documents. On these tabs, the window will show you the files that you once exchanged with this person. The lists display a maximum of 300 files.

But you will not be able to find files or photos in this correspondence; if you shared with a person a certain photo, video or audio recording that you uploaded outside the dialogue, then after changing/deleting them, they will be changed/deleted from the dialogue. Therefore, the interlocutor, opening such material in the dialogue, will see the changes made or will not see it at all if it has been deleted. This rule does not apply to documents.

If you left the conversation (chat) or were excluded, you can find it in the list of your dialogues.

Just type the name of the chat (dialogue) into the search bar (similar to a simple search by message), if, of course, you remember the name of the conversation.

VKontakte remembers all names, but the results will display the most recent one. Also note that searching by name will not work if you have deleted the message history of the chat you are searching for.

In this case, you can find the desired chat (correspondence) using the address bar. You just need to copy the search link http://vk.com/im?sel=c#, and instead of the # sign, enter the conversation number (it is always displayed in the address bar when the conversation/chat is open).
