Antivirus recovery disk. License agreement on the terms of use of the Dr.Web LiveDisk software

Antivirus boot disk This is a disk with an operating system, mainly based on the Linux kernel, respectively, an antivirus program and other auxiliary programs and utilities. Why was the Linux operating system chosen? Because, due to their differences, viruses and malware for the Windows OS do not work (and cannot even theoretically work) in the Linux environment. Secondly, you don’t need to pay to use Linux source code in your developments.

You can download a boot disk mainly as an ISO image. Some people mistakenly just burn the file to a CD and then complain that nothing works. To burn a disk image, you need a special program that will unpack and burn it to CD. For this purpose, you can use the popular Nero program.

When used, a boot disk or flash drive is inserted into the computer and the computer starts from it. To do this, you need to reconfigure the BIOS to start the computer first of all from external media CDs or flash drives, and secondly from the hard drive. Starting the operating system from the disk may take some time depending on the speed of the CD drive or the amount of RAM. When the contents of the disk are fully loaded into RAM, the operation of the boot antivirus will be much faster. In this article we will look at the three most popular anti-virus boot disks.

Dr.Web LiveCD or a similar anti-virus for the Dr.Web LiveUSB flash drive is designed for emergency treatment of a computer without the need to start the operating system.

Doctor Web antivirus on disk can completely scan your computer. If you have an active Internet connection, you can update your anti-virus databases to improve scanning efficiency.

Kaspersky Lab has its own anti-virus boot disk called . It similarly has a Linux platform and an antivirus scanner. You can also update virus definitions if you have an Internet connection.

It works on a similar principle. It is possible to run the antivirus from the command line without starting the graphical operating system.

Many more antivirus developers have free bootable disks. They all have a similar principle of operation, differing only in anti-virus scanners.

Boot disks with antiviruses are used to scan computers for viruses, bypassing the operating system. If they are used, the OS installed on the PC does not load, but the antivirus starts. The advantages of this approach are that the virus in this case does not start and does not block the program, so antivirus programs can completely scan the computer.

Many have come across similar applications from Kaspersky or Doctor Web, but there are many more of them. Almost any popular antivirus has similar utilities in its arsenal. In this article we will look at the most popular products from this series.

Antivirus Kaspersky Rescue Disk

Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 is a free boot disk from Kaspersky Lab for scanning and treating a computer infected with viruses. System infection can be so serious that using conventional antiviruses running on a “sick” operating system does not produce any result.

It is no secret that when actively working on a computer, when accessing the Internet, the operating system is exposed to potential danger. Attackers have come up with many different types of viruses that can get onto your computer in different ways.

An antivirus installed on your computer will not always save you from the danger of infection. This is objective: threats appear first, and only then is counteraction to new threats developed.

In severe cases, the computer may not function normally. Therefore, you cannot use antivirus solutions that run directly on the Windows operating system.

If Windows does not boot, or the system is paralyzed, the antivirus installed on the computer, or an antivirus scanner downloaded from the Internet, will not be able to do the job of detecting and neutralizing malicious software.

In such cases, Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 will come to the rescue - a special version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus that boots from removable media running the Linux operating system. Malicious software located on a Windows hard drive will not be able to use the computer while Linux is running, and therefore will not prevent system recovery.

Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10: rescue disk functionality

Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 is a boot disk for scanning and disinfecting your computer in situations where it is impossible to use other antivirus applications on the computer. The rescue disk from Kaspersky will help the user boot the computer from the emergency recovery disk to perform the necessary work to treat the computer and restore the system.

Key features of Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10:

Conclusions of the article

Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 is an emergency disk for checking and treating your computer in case of a serious infection. If you cannot use other antivirus programs, a bootable antivirus disk will help neutralize malicious software on your computer.

When your computer is infected with viruses to such an extent that the operating system no longer even starts, there is only one way out - SCAN IT WHEN LOADING.

That is, we need to scan it even before the operating system boots, find all the malicious programs and remove them.

Then reboot our PC and again enjoy its working condition. The fact is that when I first encountered a problem when the computer was infected with a virus and the operating system refused to start, I was simply horrified. Usually, if there is a virus on your computer, you simply find it using an antivirus program and remove it. And then the system did not boot at all. Just after turning on the computer, a window appeared asking how to send an SMS as usual, enter a code, and so on. In short another!

DIVORCE FOR MONEY What did I decide to do right away? I immediately came to the conclusion that it was necessary. I did this and was horrified when the virus again prevented the system from starting. How so? What to do if?

REINSTALLING THE SYSTEM DID NOT HELP Salvation can be scanning your computer for viruses

when loading it! It’s great that I remembered about this, but I had never used it before.

We need to burn an image of an antivirus program to a disk or flash drive. Such images can be found on the official websites of antivirus developers such as Kaspersky, Doctor Web, and so on.

In this lesson I will tell you how to take an image of Kaspersky antivirus, write it to a USB flash drive and scan all disks on your computer, removing all viruses. So now we'll start creating.

Bootable USB flash drive with antivirus

For this we need:

1. Formatted USB flash drive.

2. Image of Kaspersky antivirus

3. A program for writing an image to a flash drive.

I hope you already have a flash drive, all you have to do is download the necessary programs.

Then in the window that opens, specify the folder to unpack the program, or leave it as default, then it will be unpacked in the same place where it is. Click the "Install" button

After unpacking, the program will automatically start. Click the “Browse” button.

We indicate on the computer where the Kaspersky ISO image is located.

After the path to the image is specified, you need select USB drive, onto which Kaspersky anti-virus will be recorded, and click the “Start” button.

Our flash drive must be formatted for the FAT or FAT32 file system. Therefore, if we previously formatted it in NTFS, a window will appear where we must confirm formatting in FAT32. Click “Yes”.

The recording has started. We are waiting for completion.

After the bootable USB flash drive with the antivirus is created, a window with the text will appear: Kaspersky Rescue Disk was successfully written. Click "OK".

Now we need to prepare the computer for booting fromUSB storage device. You need to go into the BIOS and set it to boot from a flash drive. I'll show you using my BIOS as an example. It may be different for you, but the process will be similar, anyway!

We reboot the computer, do not remove the flash drive with the recorded antivirus from the computer.

When rebooting the PC, we need to go into the BIOS; to do this, press the DELETE or F2 key on the keyboard; it depends on your motherboard.

After entering the BIOS, find the Boot tab, select the item Hard Disk Drivers.

We put USB first.

We save the settings made using the F10 key and exit.

Now our computer boots from a flash drive.

If we did everything correctly, then Kaspersky will launch in a few seconds. Here we are asked to press the “Enter” key. Let's press.

Then, using the arrows on the keyboard, select the language “Russian”.

Accept the terms of the license agreement by pressing the 1 key.

If you have recently purchased a computer and are just getting acquainted with the device, I recommend that, in addition to the installation media with Windows, you create a boot disk with utilities on which to place an antivirus program. If you have a question regarding the need for such a drive, I will answer. In a situation where the operating system does not start due to virus infection, having a protective disk or flash drive can easily defeat them even under such conditions.
Modern antivirus programs

The created drive, when connected to a computer and at the time of startup, scans local disks for the presence of virus programs. If detected, it is blocked or deleted. The antivirus will scan the removable media. When the problem is resolved, the user restarts the computer and sees that it works correctly.

Recorded on portable media is a sure way to get rid of malware that blocks the machine from starting. Developers of advanced programs create multi-component programs with additional options and file managers.

Next, I will present a brief overview of common and little-known programs to the average user that can be used to create bootable disks. They will save your computer and saved information in unexpected situations.

Kaspersky antivirus program

The Kaspersky company invites fans to acquire the useful Rescue Disk 10 program. Its purpose is to find and remove malicious and potentially dangerous programs. It works normally when installed on a computer, monitors download files, visits to pages on the Internet, and warns the user about possible dangers. While removing the virus, it does the job without causing damage to root files and multimedia. It is recommended to download the antivirus onto a flash drive to check hard drives when the PC boots.

Fig 1. Antivirus Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

Antivirus Defender is provided to users free of charge. Paid editions are available, but for home use the standard skills of the program are sufficient. The program is known to 98% of users, half of them believe that the program negatively affects the operation of the computer, but tests show the opposite.

If the user wants to find a virus that slows down work, a banner, etc., feel free to download the utility. The Kaspersky rescue disk program is not the only component; the utility includes a set of functions, including:

  • open access for making adjustments to the register;
  • supports Internet browser and network;
  • file manager included;
  • The user has two operating modes available: text and graphic.

To create Kaspersky you will need a disk image, which we download from the Internet or look for on the developers’ website. Through the program we record to a disk or flash drive. After the media is ready, we connect it to the damaged computer via a floppy drive or USB output (if you created a Kaspersky usb), in the BIOS we enable the boot mode taking into account the interface of the installation device, restart and wait for the program to analyze the data. If suspicious, potentially dangerous or virus programs are detected, the user will see a report. Further actions suggest two options:

  • removing harmful files;
  • moving the virus into quarantine.

Advice! If you don't like Kaspersky, an alternative option is the avast rescue disk.

Protecting your computer with Dr.Web LiveDisk

Next I present dr web rescue disk - a worthy program and rightfully considered one of the best in the field of virus search and protection. The developers position the utility as an “ambulance”. The latest version of the program is always available on the website, there are demo developments for review and paid ones. The program easily finds infected files, disinfects them or moves them to quarantine.

To ensure maximum system protection, the user can create bootable anti-virus media and scan the computer at startup.

Fig 2. Dr.Web LiveDisk protection

This antivirus program leads the parade of my favorite security programs; the dr web utility, like the previous antivirus program, contains additional components:

  1. File managers, two pieces;
  2. Able to make adjustments to the register;
  3. Built-in Internet browser Mozilla Fireforks;
  4. Terminal.

To quickly scan and detect danger, users are offered dr web cureit antivirus. Its advantage is the daily update of the virus database.

If you have created a disk with the utility and boot from a hard drive, it will automatically search for connected hard drives and connect to the Internet.

Avira Rescue System - reliable protection for your computer

The Avira antivirus program is provided to users in two formats, which is a definite advantage over its competitors. If the user does not want to bother and create an anti-virus boot disk, then you can use the program in .exe format.

Fig 3. Avira Rescue System program

The user only downloads the application and inserts the media into the drive, then the program automatically detects the device and offers to create a healing disk. First, do not forget to double-click on the program icon and start burning the CD. The program scans Windows, finds and deletes malicious files, and can create backup copies of files.

Defender Offline from Microsoft

You may be surprised by the new knowledge. Yes, not everyone knows about the existence of an official program to protect Windows from malicious applications and files.

Attention! The healing utility must be downloaded exclusively from the developers’ website.

Figure 4. Defender Offline utility

So, the following options are available to the user:

  • burning the program to a CD;
  • installing antivirus on a flash drive;
  • recording a program image.

Through simple analysis, we understand that if the task is to install an antivirus from a disk, you need to choose the first option for creating media. Once the selection is made, the program will continue to work automatically. During the process, viruses will be detected or not detected, and a total scan of installed applications and downloaded files will be performed.

While Defender is running, the computer does not open system applications: command line or registry.

Cloud Panda

The presented antivirus is known to many users. In addition to the fact that it is famous for its cloud type, the developers took care of the presence of the SafeDisk utility. It allows you to solve the problem of a computer that won’t start if the cause of the problem is virus programs or files. If required, you can install an antivirus on the flash drive.

Using Panda and the utility of the same name is quite simple. The user needs to select language support, launch the antivirus, and wait for the computer scan to complete. If threats are detected, they are removed automatically. The user can update the program when connected to the Internet.

Fig 5. Panda SafeDisk program

As usual, we download the antivirus from a trusted source or developer’s website.

Bitdefender Rescue CD - solution for unbootable computers

The program is developed on such a principle that it is recommended to use it on computers that courageously resist starting. The user must perform a few simple steps: insert the disc into the drive, start the computer, and comply with the program requirements.

Figure 6. Bitdefender Rescue CD utility

When everything is done, the system analysis will begin. If malicious files are detected, they will be deleted, quarantined or disinfected. You can run antivirus from a flash drive.
