Download Kaspersky new version. Free Antivirus Kaspersky Free: review

To find out the answer to the question of how to install Kaspersky Anti-Virus, we have to go through four steps. Each of them should be performed as prescribed to avoid trouble.

Download the installer

In order to download the installation package of the program, you need to go to the official website of the developer via the link www.kaspersky.com and select the appropriate version. We recommend downloading the file from here so that no one slips a virus into your archive. The file weighs between 120-150 megabytes. Next is the process of installing the antivirus.

Removing old versions

Now you need to remove all old versions of antiviruses previously installed on your computer. This can be done through the Control Panel, which is located in the Start menu. There you need to select “Add or Remove Programs”, where you can remove old programs. Kaspersky does not support other antivirus packages and various types of security programs, so this step must be completed. You can view the list of programs that are not compatible with Kaspersky Anti-Virus at this link www.support.kaspersky.ru.

Installing antivirus

Let's proceed directly to installing the antivirus. This stage can be divided into several more steps.

Step 1: When you run the downloaded file, the Kaspersky Anti-Virus Installation Wizard will open. To start the standard installation, click on the “Next” button.

Step 2: Be sure to read the license agreement that will appear in the next window. If you are happy with everything, click “I agree” and proceed to the next step. If not, the “Cancel” button is at your service, which will immediately complete the installation.

Step 3: Now the program will prompt you to participate in Kaspersky Security Network. If you agree to the proposed conditions, the antivirus will be able to send to Kaspersky Lab data about viruses detected on your PC, as well as information about new possible threats. In addition, system information and a special identifier are sent that the antivirus assigns to your computer. The program does not send any personal data. So if you agree with all the points of the agreement, click “I accept the terms of participation”, and then click on the “Install” button.

Please note that when installing an antivirus on the Windows 7 operating system, a message may appear from the UAC - User Account Control service. In this case, to continue with the installation, you will need to enter the administrator password and click “Yes”.

Step 4: Check the checkbox next to “Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus” in the next window and confidently click on “Finish” to complete the installation of the program.

Activate the application

You can activate the program in three different ways, and which one is, of course, up to you.

Option 1: You can first activate the trial version of the antivirus for 1 month. When 30 days have passed, you can download a program on the Internet called “Registry Key,” which resets the counter in the antivirus. Thus, this operation with the program will have to be performed monthly.

Option 2: For activation, you can also use a special key downloaded on the Internet. There is often a lot of hassle with keys, as they fly out. However, this is one of the ways to install Kaspersky antivirus for free.

Option 3: If you don’t want to waste time searching for keys and registries, buy a license. It costs about $25 per computer, so that works out to about $2 a month. Agree, not that much money. The security of your files stored on your computer is more important.

After activating the program, you will see a window in which the antivirus will quickly analyze all installed applications on the computer. After analyzing, you will be prompted to restart your PC, which is what you should do. After this, be sure to:

  • update the antivirus databases (this can be done through the program itself or download the databases in another location, for example, on a local network).
  • perform a full scan of your computer (in the main program window, find the item responsible for checking all files stored on your PC). This may take a long time, depending on the number of files being scanned.
  • check the computer's protection status - this is also done in the main antivirus window.

So, let's summarize. Now you know how to install Kaspersky antivirus on your computer. You know there are two ways. One is simple, which comes down to paying for a software package, the other is more complex. Remember that in trying to find the answer to the question of how to install Kaspersky anti-virus for free, you are putting your computer at risk. After all, along with the same keygen, you can catch a virus.

Good afternoon friends! Today I want to tell you how you can install Kaspersky antivirus for free for a whole year. To be honest, I have never installed antivirus software before. I thought that the ability to carefully use the Internet was enough to feel protected. But now that my computer is not just an entertainment center, but my place of work, I have to think about security.

Just recently I got a new neighbor. As it turned out, he works as a system administrator at Sberbank. By chance we started talking about viruses. He was very surprised when he found out that I do not protect myself from viruses in any way. And I was very surprised by his surprise, because I had never had any viruses in my life (not counting advertising ones). I managed somehow without antiviruses. Well, we talked and forgot.

Later, in the process of forming and developing this site, I learned in one of the video courses that a site can be lost easily and quickly if an antivirus is not installed on your work computer. That is, it is not enough to be sure of reliability, because danger can lurk on any side of the monitor.

And then I remembered my neighbor and thought, “Aren’t there too many coincidences in such a short period of time? Maybe this is a sign? And the neighbor was just saying something about how Kaspersky Lab now provides services free of charge under certain conditions.

Well, I certainly won’t harm myself if I install the official free version of Kaspersky antivirus.

How to install the free version of Kaspersky antivirus?

That's how! Go to the official Kaspersky Lab website. In the “DOWNLOAD” tab, select the “Free services” item.

On the page that appears, you will see many free products that Kaspersky Lab kindly provides you. We are interested in the very first one - Kaspersky Free– download!

After downloading, start installing. By the way, during the installation process you will create an account in Kaspersky Lab. Just in case, remember or write down the email you used to create your account and password. You never know, maybe it will come in handy again. And in general, keep records of all sites, logins and passwords on which you are registered. Sooner or later, this habit can really help you out!

After installing the antivirus

Oh yes, I almost forgot. The antivirus will offer to install add-ons for your browsers. Do it. Useful thing.

When I wrote, I had to install the VK Music plugin to test it. Then I went to my website and saw a warning from Kaspersky that there were double links on the site. I didn't understand at first. It seems my links are normal. Well, encrypted through a script so that search engines do not see outgoing links in articles, but they are not double.

Then I accidentally hovered my mouse over the “Make money online” navigation menu and saw a pop-up window with advertising. Well hello! I got scared. Let's think about what we did before. But in fact, apart from the plugin, I didn’t install anything and wasn’t anywhere. I removed the plugin and everything went away. But Kaspersky immediately warned – “Bad plugin! Don't install it! Now I will listen.

Bottom line

In general, I shared a little story with you. Learn from other people's mistakes. Install the free Kaspersky antivirus, install all updates if they arrive, and install Kaspersky add-ons in your browser. This free version of the antivirus will last you for a year. And then we’ll see, they might extend it.

There are many antivirus solutions from Kaspersky Lab, such as "Kaspersky Internet Security", "Kaspersky Total Security", etc. But for a home computer, I consider the version of “Kaspersky Anti-Virus” to be the most optimal. Kaspersky Anti-Virus is a basic solution for a home computer that protects against major Internet threats, which is why we will install it in this lesson.

The first step is to download the installation file. To do this, go to the website. In the upper right part of the page that opens, hover your mouse over the “Download” menu item, and then follow the link “For home: trial versions.”

On the newly opened page, you need to go down a little to the block with “Kaspersky Anti-Virus” and follow the “Trial version” link.

After this, the download of the installation file will begin. Save this file to your computer.

As soon as the file is downloaded to a folder on your computer, you need to launch it by double-clicking on it with the left mouse button. A new window will open. On the first page, click "Continue".

On the next page, click "Install basic protection."

After this, the download of files necessary for further installation will begin.

Once all the necessary files are downloaded to your computer, the installation will continue. In the new window that opens, click the "Install" button. Next, on two pages, click the “Accept” button in order to accept the license agreement for using the program. At the very end, the installation of the program on your computer begins.

The latest information window will open indicating that the antivirus was successfully installed. Be sure to leave the "Launch Kaspersky Anti-Virus" checkbox and click the "Finish" button.

Congratulations, you have the latest version of a popular antivirus installed on your computer. Now all we have to do is follow the link “No license” in order to activate the free trial license for 30 days, and then go to the “Update” section to get the latest anti-virus database. I hope there won't be any problems with this. In the next article I will tell you how to renew Kaspersky Anti-Virus on your computer for free.

This question has already been raised by me in one of the articles in which I talked about a special utility called CureIt from the Doctor Web company. Of course, it cannot be that Kaspersky itself does not have such a tool. Of course it is and it is also absolutely free.

Most likely, you have already come across suspicious links that you are asked to follow to view this or that information or download this or that file. If this is verified information or a reliable site, then it is clear that you will not doubt the reliability of the link you need to follow. But what to do when you doubt?! After all, by clicking on one of these links you can get to dangerous sites that can damage your computer with viruses and other dangerous programs, for example, pop-up banners.

In the last lesson, we talked to you about how you can check the website pages you want to visit using a tool from Doctor Web - an online scanner, by the way. In this lesson, it’s time to look at another useful thing from the same company, such as a browser extension that allows you to check links and website addresses for viruses without going to a special website, but directly from the browser.

Yes, you read that right. This is a free version of the famous Kaspersky Free antivirus. In one of the previous lessons, I already talked about how you can renew Kaspersky Anti-Virus for free using journal keys. In the same lesson, we will analyze the first free solution from a renowned laboratory, which became available in mid-January 2016.

Windows Defender is a special program from Microsoft designed to protect your computer from malware. Its main purpose is to scan your computer, detect malicious code and remove it. It only protects against spyware (Trojans), so you usually need to install an antivirus in addition.

Nowadays, many people actively use the Internet. For some users, it is the main source of information; it is also used for work, entertainment and other purposes. However, various viruses and spyware are very common on the Internet, which can enter the computer system at any time while browsing Internet resources or while downloading various files. To protect computers from viruses and spyware, special antivirus programs are used to constantly protect computers from “infection.” Most antivirus programs are paid and require periodic purchase of license keys for their daily use. One of the most common antivirus programs is a product from Kaspersky Lab. Some users may have difficulty activating this program. To apply a license key for Kaspersky Anti-Virus you will need:

— installed Kaspersky antivirus();

— product license key.

Instructions

  1. This manual will discuss the activation process for Kaspersky Internet Security 8, but all other versions of the program are activated in the same way (perhaps individual items will have a different name in different versions of the program). Open the main window of Kaspersky Anti-Virus by double-clicking on the corresponding tray icon. The main antivirus window is divided into two columns. The left column contains links to the main program settings tabs:
  • Protection;
  • Update;
  • Examination;
  • License.

Kaspersky Free - a free Kaspersky anti-virus released by Kaspersky Lab, provides high-quality basic computer protection against malicious threats. Free Kaspersky Anti-Virus provides protection against various types of virus threats, network attacks, and fraudulent activities.

Kaspersky Free Antivirus contains only the most necessary components that act as the main protection for your computer. Therefore, the antivirus has become much lighter and faster; now Kaspersky Free can be used on the same computer along with other antiviruses. Kaspersky Free Antivirus may report other "incompatible" antivirus programs, but in fact it gets along well with other antiviruses on the same computer.

Another question is, does it make sense to keep another antivirus with similar functionality on one computer? As a second antivirus, along with Kaspersky Free, you can use second-line antivirus programs, such as .

The head of Kaspersky Lab, Evgeny Kaspersky, said the following about the free antivirus Kaspersky FREE:

The release of the free version of Kaspersky antivirus did not happen spontaneously. Kaspersky Lab has been researching this issue for a long time. They came to the conclusion that there is little overlap between the audience of paid and free antivirus products.

Users of paid antiviruses need features that are not available in the free version of the antivirus (parental controls, protection of online payments, technical support, protection against identity theft), so they are willing to purchase a paid product. At the same time, some users of the free version, after using Kaspersky Free, will want to increase the overall level of security of their computer. To do this, they will switch to the paid version of Kaspersky antivirus. Migration from the paid version to the free version will be minimal, since few people will agree to lower the security level of their computer.

The free antivirus Kaspersky Free was initially released in Russian for Russia and Ukraine. At this point in time, the antivirus has entered the global market and is available to all users.

Look at the table comparing the main features of Kaspersky Free and Kaspersky Internet Security (this antivirus is installed on my computer).

You can download the Kaspersky Free web installer from the official website of Kaspersky Lab.

First, a window will open with a message about preparing to launch the program, and then the “Activation” window will open. After receiving data from the server, activation of the antivirus will automatically complete.

You will be prompted to create an account. If you do not want to register, then ignore such messages. The detailed installation process for the free Kaspersky Free antivirus can be seen in the video, which you can watch under this article.

Basic settings of Kaspersky Free

The main window of Kaspersky Free displays information about the computer’s protection status, in this case: “Computer is protected.” There are two active buttons in the main window: “Check” and “Update”. The “Safe Payments” and “Parental Controls” buttons are not active, since these components are available in the paid version of the antivirus - Kaspersky Internet Security.

The status of your computer's protection in Kaspersky Free is indicated by an indicator that changes color:

  • green color means the computer is protected
  • yellow color indicates security problems
  • red indicates a serious threat to your computer's security

Click on the "More details" button. The Notification Center window will open, in which you need to perform the necessary actions. It is recommended to update databases and program modules, and install Kaspersky Protection in the browser.

The Kaspersky Protection extension is necessary for full browser protection. Agree to install the extension in the browsers installed on your computer. In the browser window, if you see a message about the need to install an extension, agree to install Kaspersky Protection, and then activate the extension.

To start scanning your computer, click on the “Scan” button. The Scan window starts a manual scan of your computer. By default, automatic scanning in real time is enabled in Kaspersky Free.

Immediately after installing the antivirus on your computer, you must perform a full scan of all areas of the computer.

The scan is started manually. The following scanning options are available in Kaspersky Free antivirus:

  • Full scan - scans all areas of the computer
  • Quick scan - checking objects loaded when the operating system starts
  • Custom check - checking objects added by the user
  • Checking external devices - checking external devices connected to the computer

Using the "Task Manager" you can control the progress of the scan and receive reports on previously performed scans. The scan (full or quick) can be performed on a schedule. To do this, in the “Scan Schedule” window, a schedule is created according to which the antivirus will scan the computer.

To update the anti-virus databases, click on the “Update” button.

Anti-virus databases and anti-virus components are updated automatically and at certain intervals. In the “Update” window, you can update anti-virus databases and software modules manually at any time. To do this, click on the “Update” button.

You can manage your antivirus from the notification area. To do this, right-click on the Kaspersky Free icon and select the required action in the context menu.

Kaspersky Free settings

To go to the Kaspersky Free settings, click on the “Settings” button on the bottom panel.

The “General” tab contains settings for the operation of the free Kaspersky anti-virus. By default, protection is enabled, interactive protection and antivirus autorun are running.

The antivirus has the ability to set password protection in order to prevent changing settings, shutting down or uninstalling the antivirus.

Using the “Manage Settings” setting, you can: “Import Settings”, “Export Settings”, “Restore Settings”, to change the settings of the program parameters.

After clicking on the “Default Settings” setting, you can change the antivirus settings.

The following security levels are supported:

  • “Maximum level of protection” - recommended when working in cases of high danger; this mode consumes significant computer resources
  • "Optimal security level" - recommended for most users
  • “Minimum security level” - ensures high computer performance with minimal protection

The “Protection” tab contains the main antivirus components: “File Antivirus”, “IM Antivirus”, “Mail Antivirus”, “Web Antivirus”.

  • “File Anti-Virus” - scans all opened, saved and launched files, protects the computer’s file system
  • "IM-Antivirus" - checking Internet messenger traffic for malicious and phishing links
  • "Mail Anti-Virus" - checking incoming and outgoing messages for the presence of dangerous objects
  • "Web Anti-Virus" - scans incoming web traffic and prevents dangerous scripts from running on your computer

The Anti-Phishing component is built into Web Anti-Virus and IM Anti-Virus. The on-screen keyboard included in the antivirus protects against data interception and does not allow you to entrust access to information that an attacker can obtain using screenshots.

In the “Performance” tab, you configure the operation of the antivirus when performing application tasks. The energy saving mode is turned on, the game profile is activated, and the rules for using computer resources are set.

Using the “Pause File Anti-Virus” setting, you can stop the file anti-virus for a certain time, or when specified programs are launched.

In the “Check” tab, you can change the security level by moving the slider to your preferred position: high, recommended, or low. Here you configure the parameters of what Kaspersky Free will do when a threat is detected, and when external devices are connected.

Virus scanning can be performed on a schedule. Click on the “Scan Schedule” setting, then select the scan type: “Full scan” or “Quick scan”, and in the window that opens, select the time interval between scans.

Advanced antivirus settings are recommended for experienced users. You must understand what you are doing so that if you configure it incorrectly, you will not reduce the level of protection of your computer. By default, Kaspersky Free is configured optimally, so changing antivirus settings unless necessary is not recommended.

Possible selection of advanced configuration options:

  • Setting up a full scan
  • Setting up a quick scan
  • Setting up custom scan
  • Vulnerability Search Scope
  • Run scan tasks with user rights

Using additional parameters, you can flexibly configure each scan option.

In the “Advanced” tab, you can access other program parameters: “Update”, “Threats and exceptions”, “Self-defense”, “Network”, “Notifications”, “Reports and quarantine”, “Additional protection and management tools”, “ View".

In the main Kaspersky Free program window, click on the “More features” button.

In the “Tools” window, in “Protection Extension” you are prompted to switch to Kaspersky Internet Security.
Log in to the “Cloud Protection” window to view Kaspersky Security Network data.

To launch the on-screen keyboard, which protects against data interception, click on the “On-screen keyboard” button.

Log in to “Quarantine” in order to gain access to objects quarantined by the antivirus.

When a virus is detected, Kaspersky Free disinfects the infected object. If the file has been disinfected by an antivirus, you can continue to use the disinfected file on your computer. If treatment is impossible, the antivirus will delete the infected file from the computer, and a copy of the file will be quarantined. The problem file placed in this special isolated area (quarantine) is securely isolated. An infected file cannot harm your computer.

You can delete the file from quarantine, or, conversely, restore it (not recommended).

Virus scanning in Kaspersky Free

In the Scan window, in the Scan section, run a full scan of your computer.

A full computer scan will check the following areas:

  • system memory
  • system backup storage
  • hard and removable drives

A quick scan can be launched from the main program window. The following objects will be checked:

  • disk boot sectors
  • system memory
  • loaded objects when Windows starts

Custom scanning is launched from the context menu or from the main program window. Custom scan is used to scan a specific file, folder or drive. To scan a file, right-click on it, and then select “Scan for viruses” in the context menu.

Upon completion of the test, you can view the result.

Uninstalling Kaspersky Free
