Design, construction
I would like to remind you that the first Tour was the calling card of Beats, the model became widely known thanks to its participation in films, videos, it could be seen on various musicians - I myself used the Beats Tour until I lost it. The 2013 model has changed significantly, and this applies to literally everything. Starting with the design, the old Tour had a metal area around the speakers, but here we use flexible plastic. Why? Apparently to avoid damage. Although the reason may be banal savings. If you look from the side, you get three layers: the base, where the pad with the letter b is located, clearly visible in the ear (for many this is important), a layer of matte translucent plastic where the speaker is hidden, and the last part with the attachment for the tip. The model in the review has already been discontinued; now on the official website there are headphones in black, gray and red. The cable is red everywhere, the color of the headphones themselves changes. Of the modern ones, I like the classic ones, black headphones with a red letter b. Although my Tours also look great - white “droplets”, red cable. The cable does not get tangled, this feature remains. I really like how the 3.5 mm plug is made, a minimum of plastic, it doesn’t get in the way in your pocket, it doesn’t cling to anything.
There are a lot of questions about how to spot a fake. These headphones came to me almost by accident, but from a source where there are no fakes. On the official Beats website you can now identify the original by the serial number, but this only applies to Urbeats and the Powerbeats Wireless sports headset.
You can check the authenticity. As for the Tour, I found the serial numbers (SN letters) on the box, on the instructions and somewhere else, and they were all different. And I don’t have a demo sample, but serial headphones. As in the case of the first Beats, my advice will be simple: if you buy headphones secondhand, rely more on your instincts - before that, look at the model in a store like “Restaurant”, where there are definitely no fakes. Because let me remind you what happened with the first “tours”: there was one very popular video where a person unpacked the Tour and talked about the differences from fakes, and then it turned out that it was another batch of original headphones with slightly changed packaging and design. It’s gratifying that the company is taking steps to easily identify original models (check the number on the website), but it’s a pity that this is only for modern headphones.
Continuing with Beats, you may not like the plastic, but wearing headphones has become more comfortable in winter. And in general, in terms of comfort they are preferable to the old Tour.
Wearing method
I decided to talk about this in particular; on the official website they write about new “horns”, supposedly they are much more convenient. I picked up the silicone tips the old fashioned way and started listening to music. I feel somehow uncomfortable. The plastic rubs the earlobe, and the apotheosis was during a flight to Hong Kong, when after a couple of hours of wearing it I simply could not insert the headphones - it was painful. Here I once again complained about my inattention, like many other users, you consider yourself the smartest, don’t read the instructions, and then you suffer. The kit includes horns of three sizes; they are put on the earphone, and the nozzle sits on top. The horns are made of pleasant silicone, there are left-right designations, the size is indicated, choosing a pair is not difficult. And with these horns the real fun begins. The headphones are not felt, you can wear them for hours, the flexible earbud fixes the cup in the ear, and this has a positive effect on the quality of playback.
Don't ignore the instructions, friends. Completely different impressions of the thing. A few more words about carrying, the kit includes a convenient hard capsule case for the Tour and attachments; you can carry SIM cards or memory cards here. There is a Velcro strap so you can wind up the cable if you put the headphones away for a long time. There is a movable jumper on the cable to select the desired length. In general, everything was provided for.
Remote control
The standard remote control for modern Beats headphones, the old Tour ones had a different one. The modern one is better, there are more buttons, the click is very good - moderately soft, moderately elastic. The remote control works with all Apple devices, but it may or may not work with Android devices - it all depends on the pinout.

People often don’t believe me that Beats has good sound quality, and I’m not going to prove anything to anyone here - you shouldn’t listen to grandmothers and people in the street, it’s easier to go and listen yourself. Yes, Tours cost a lot. But I personally like the signature style, and the style here is clear, these are low frequencies in all their glory. If you listen to electronic music, rap, and other youth genres, then it’s worth a try. The Beats website is silent about the driver characteristics. Maybe it’s right - this company works not for a dozen audiophiles, but for music lovers all over the world, so there is no need to provide people with useless information.

3 pairs of “secure fit” silicone wings of different sizes and an additional three pairs of droplets (two of which are small and large, respectively, as well as one pair of medium size, but of a different shape) P.S. The headphones in the box have a pair of medium-sized droplets on them.
An elastic band was carefully provided for the slider so that it does not just dangle. It's a small thing, but nice.
The quality of packaging, components, as well as the build quality and materials of the headphones themselves are a solid 5+ out of 5.

Now I propose to move on to the main thing - the sound. The sound source was MacBook Air late 2014, and the amplifier was FiiO E11K Kilimanjaro 2 (Flac audio track format). According to the manufacturer, the headphones play in the range from 20 to 20,000 Hz. The picture as a whole is excellent. No extraneous noise. At full volume the sound is virtually undistorted. If there are instruments in the track, they do not merge into a nasty mess. Good sound insulation (at 3/5 volume the subway noise will definitely not be audible). The lows in the headphones are decent, but not that much exaggerated. The highs don't squeak at full volume. The middle is good. Good, but for the price of $150 I would like something more. The sound has been greatly reworked since the first version of Beats Tour and for the better. Far better. In general, the sound can be safely given 4/5. If the headphones cost $100 or less, they are a must have, as they say, but this is the Beats brand. I repeat, the official price for headphones is $150 in America.
Conclusion: The headphones are ideal for rap, club music, hip-hop. Well suited for rock, clean vocals, pop and classical. I haven’t really listened to other genres, it’s hard to say for sure. I did not use the equalizer when listening to music. The quality of the materials is excellent (mine have been in use since December 2013, they are in perfect condition, I always carry them with me in my pocket without a case). Design and comfort 5/5.
