Deliveries have now become especially in demand. After all, people are increasingly using online services, in particular, ordering various kinds of goods on online platforms, among which Aliexpress has become the most popular. At the same time, many people prefer to independently carry out tracking throughout the entire stage of cargo transportation.

And this is very correct, because thanks to this option you will be able to find out in time what delays are occurring, what procedures and points, stages of verification are being carried out or will only be carried out.

In general, thanks to tracking you can get detailed information about delivery. However, to do this, you need to know what tracking statuses mean. Only them correct understanding allow you to benefit from tracking.

At international deliveries you can often see the status “Export from the country of origin”. Many courier service clients are interested in what this phrase means. We will consider its meaning within the framework of this article. However, first you need to understand what exporting international mail itself means.

Export is

The word “export” itself comes from the Latin exporto. This same word, in turn, has the meaning of “export of goods and services from the port of the country,” if we talk about its literal meaning. Buyers of these same services and goods will call the country an importer. That is, when tracking a parcel, it is important to correctly understand the statuses:

  • Export means that something has gone outside the country.
  • Import means that something, on the contrary, arrived in the country.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated here.

The meaning of the status Export from the country of origin

This status is second in order. It is issued at the delivery stage, when the goods are exported outside the sending country. You can also understand the message this way: there is still time before receiving the goods.

To make it easier, let's look at an example: Ivan bought headphones from Aliexpress and ordered delivery. The product is located in China, but it needs to be delivered to Russia. When, during tracking, Ivan sees “Export from the sending country,” this means: the headphones were exported from China.

Russians in Lately People are increasingly ordering goods from other countries, especially on popular sites such as Aliexpress, Buyincoins and Ebay. It also happens that someone has relatives or friends abroad, and they send gifts or simply parcels to you in Russia. Delivery of goods throughout our country is carried out by Russian Post or other postal companies, and within the sender’s territory the goods are transported by local carriers. When approaching the recipient, the status of the shipment changes, which is displayed in the online parcel tracking service. In the article we will tell you what the status “export from the country of departure” and all the others mean, as well as what to do if the parcel is missing or “stuck” somewhere.

Through which services can you track postal items?

The most common and popular service created by Russian Post, it is called “Russian Post. Tracking postal items". There you need to enter the parcels and confirm that you are not a robot. The system will show where in this moment the parcel is located. But, unfortunately, recently, on the same Aliexpress, parcel numbers have begun to be issued in such a way that it is impossible to track them through the Russian Post website. You can use others instead.

So, there are websites for tracking goods specifically from China, since parcels from there are now very a large number of. It’s called Track24 and is located on the website of the same name; there are also 17track and ALITRACK. The last 3 do not request verification of the robot, but immediately search for the location of the parcel using the entered postal item number. The 17track service also shows the approximate date of arrival at the recipient's post office.

If an item has disappeared from the tracking service or is stuck somewhere at one point for a long time, then it is possible that they forgot to add it to the program and you will no longer be able to track its movements until you receive a notification from the post office that the package has been delivered. In this case, you can write to the seller, attaching a screenshot from the Russian Post service. Tracking mail items or any other service that shows the problem. After the delivery period has expired, the seller, with your consent, or you yourself can extend the delivery period or return the money for an obvious reason. Money is usually returned quickly (within 3-5 days) to the card or account from which the payment was made, although not the first time. Sometimes the seller has to write several times to get the money back, or even contact the support service, because the seller does not make contact. It also happens that the money is returned or the product is ordered again, but the one that was lost arrives.

Preparing for shipment

This means that a package consisting of one or more items is being assembled or already completed and prepared for shipment. The preparation process also includes paperwork and labeling of parcels. Also at this stage, the seller checks whether payment for the purchase has been made and passed.

"Export from country of origin"

This is the second status that the parcel acquires during transportation, unless otherwise provided by the seller or transport company. “Export from the country of origin” literally means export from that country. This means that the parcel has a long delivery journey ahead.

The time given to deliver the goods to the buyer usually begins to count precisely from the “export from the country of departure” status. How long to wait for a parcel is often written when placing an order: some goods arrive within 30 days, and some within 90. Therefore, you should carefully read the delivery conditions when placing and subsequent payment for the order. If the parcel is sent by your friend from another country, then the wait is much less; these usually arrive in 10-20 days.

Arrival at destination country

When export from the country of departure is completed, i.e. the goods have left the seller’s country and crossed the border, the status of the parcel changes. There can be 2 options: either the goods immediately end up in the capital’s sorting center, or they will be located in a border, but already Russian city, next to the border that they crossed. One way or another, it will have the status “arrived in the territory of the Russian Federation” or “imported to the country of destination” in tracking services.

Arrival at the sorting center

Sorting centers are huge premises in a large city into which parcels and letters are received for further distribution and sending to smaller points or regional post offices. When a product is exported from the country of departure, it has already been determined where it will go next, to which city, sorting center and post office.

At the sorting center, parcels are processed automatically, since it is almost impossible to process a huge number of boxes and packages manually, so it is important that the index is written correctly (the address is not read here), otherwise the parcel will go to another place.

Arrival at the pick-up point

When the purchased product has gone through all stages of transportation, it arrives at the post office closest to the buyer. Within a few days, postal employees issue a notice of receipt and bring it to the recipient at Mailbox. If the addressee does not arrive within a week, a second notice is issued. A parcel that has been lying unclaimed for a month is sent back.

If a person tracked the parcel through online services and saw that it was there, he may not wait for a notification, but come to the post office with the shipment number and, having named it and presenting his passport, receive a box with the purchased goods.

If he missed all the notifications and did not monitor the status for a long time, then when trying to understand where the parcel is, he may see the status “export from the country of departure” again, but now this country will be Russia, which means the purchase has been sent back. Only a dialogue with the seller will help here; he can stop the return shipment or send the goods again. But not all sellers agree to this, so if you are waiting for a parcel from abroad, do not rely on notifications from the post office, but check the location of the goods yourself.

Many people order goods from free shipping from China and, by chance, use the exotic services of such Asian post offices as China Post Air Mail, Hong Kong Post, Singapore Post, etc., where often stores and sellers provide a tracking number by which you can track the parcel and more or less predict when it will fucking arrive. Postal statuses of China Post are essentially Chinese letters and a mere mortal can hardly figure out how to decipher it all. To do this, below I will try to explain what the statuses mean in China Post, which you see when tracking a parcel by track number.

Parcel tracking statuses from China (postal items statuses - China)

Status Collection收寄局收寄 or Acceptance - means that the parcel has arrived at the China Post Office.
Status Opening出口总包互封开拆 (The parcel has arrived at the transit point) - this status means that it has arrived at the transit point (nothing to do with opening or opening the parcel)
Status Dispatching出口总包互封封发 (Arrival at MMPO, Processing) - the parcel is sent from one transit point to another
Status Departure from outward office of exchange出口总包直封封发 (Export, Total Export) - the actual sending of a postal item outside of China, that is, the parcel has departed from China and after some time will arrive in the country of the recipient of the parcel. But the nuance is that this status can be repeated many times until the parcel is actually loaded and sent.
Status NULL交航 - no accurate information, most often means that the parcel has cleared customs and left China, in rare cases it may mean that it has been returned to the sender.
Status: The item is pre-advised- means that the track number was ordered/purchased electronically (online pre-order), and the parcel has not yet been delivered, i.e. has not arrived at the post office (the sender has not yet delivered the parcel to the post office and it has not been sent).

Parcel type status Russian Federation: Unknown attribute when tracking a parcel from Aliexpress, this is just the most common status that could not be automatically translated into English or Russian. To understand where the parcel is and what is happening with the parcel, track without translation, so that the statuses are displayed in Chinese (for example) and then insert these hieroglyphs into Google translator and translate into English, then you will get a normal status with an adequate translation. In short, this is just an error in translating the status of the parcel, but everything is fine with the parcel itself, so don’t worry..

There are also three-letter designations (Loacation), these are airport codes, often these are CAN(Guangzhou), PEK (Beijing) or PVG(Shanghai), although there are others.. To decipher them, enter in your browser http://www.flightstats.com/go/Airport/airportDetails.do?airportCode=ABC where instead of ABC enter your 3x character code or the second method, go to the IATA website (international aviation agency) http://www.iata.org/publications/Pages/code-search.aspx and in the middle of the site you will see a search form, where in the drop-down list select Location code, and in empty field, enter your three-digit code and click on the Search button, generally as in the picture:

Parcel statuses in the destination country

Upon arrival in the destination country (for example, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine), the status of the parcels is more clear. By the way, sometimes the parcel does not reach your city immediately or locality, but is in transit through other cities, just like when sent from China, the parcel can even go through neighboring countries, so there is no need to panic or worry, everything is fine, this is mail. So let’s look at the typical statuses of parcels upon arrival in the destination country; for most countries everything is approximately the same:

Import(Import) – the parcel has arrived (arrived) in the destination country, it is being processed for transfer to customs.
Reception at customs- transfer to customs for clearance.
Customs clearance. Customs release– the parcel has passed everything necessary customs clearance and prepares for release from the sorting point MMPO(Place of International Mail Exchange)
Left the place of international exchange of MMPO– the parcel left customs and was handed over to the post office for further dispatch.
Left the sorting center– the parcel is sorted and sent to its destination.
Came to the place of delivery– the parcel has arrived at the post office, which means that the parcel has arrived at your local post office and you can go receive it even without notification, or you can wait for the notification (usually they are delivered to the mailbox, the one in your password).
Delivery to the addressee(Product Delivered) – the parcel has already been delivered to the recipient, receipt of the parcel is confirmed by the recipient.

Problematic and unpleasant parcel statuses

Above we described standard statuses parcels, they mean that the parcel is on the way and is traveling (eating, flying, sailing) to the recipient. It happens that a parcel may get stuck in a loop or get stuck on one status, statuses may be repeated, sometimes it may miss some statuses, this is normal and in most cases everything arrives normally (sometimes with delays). But there are statuses that make you worry and mean problems:

Return. Other circumstances- this status means that there is something wrong with your parcel. And it is returned to the sender. What's wrong can be found out by calling hotline mail or to your local post office and indicate the track number (tracking number), they will tell you what to do and possible reasons return the parcel.
Return. Return to customs– this status means that at the customs stage, your parcel was turned back, most often if the address is not written legibly or there are some prohibited goods in the parcel (for example, spyware or something from the prohibited list), this status can also be if customs clearance was required, and the recipient refused to pay and clear the parcel.
Unsuccessful attempt of delivery– this status is most often accompanied by clarification about the reasons for failure. This may be an incorrect (incorrect) address, an inaccurate address, an incomplete address, the addressee has dropped out, etc. In such a situation, it is important to have time to pick up the parcel from the post office before the parcel storage time expires (depending on your country, this is no less than 5 and no more than 30 days, you can check this with your post office). Sometimes it happens that it is indicated incorrectly postcode and the parcel arrived, but not to your post office, but to some neighboring one (call the post office, tell them the tracking number and they will tell you at which address to pick up the parcel). Sometimes if you don’t pick up the parcel on the first day, then this status may also appear, so it’s possible postal notification is already lying in your mailbox.
Return. Expiration date– most likely you forgot or did not manage to receive the parcel on time and it was returned back to the sender.
Dosyl. Submission– most likely the parcel arrived at the wrong post office and was redirected to another. Don’t worry, this is not a problem and means that the parcel is moving on, but we recommend that you monitor this process and this situation, and then ask what the problem was so that all your subsequent parcels go without such delays and nuances.
