Where to get your iPhone repaired. Special project: myths and reality of repairs in service centers. Video instructions: how to distinguish original spare parts from copies on an iPhone

You can be indignant as much as you like, but it’s better to pay extra than to cry.

Eat folk myth: if you try, you can find a service center where they can fix your iPhone for half the price!

What then do you become slave(and in general a narrow-minded person), not everyone knows. And who knows, he may not always believe it.

Therefore, gentlemen, I hasten disappoint. Here are the real ones repair prices iPhone, they will be confirmed by any master who understands the topic.

Fact: adequate, high-quality repairs iPhone can't be budget, “profitable” and will never become cheaper. Devices and spare parts are becoming so complex that the work of a technician becomes more expensive, and the risks of unqualified repairs grow exponentially.

But how then do some “services” manage to keep the price of services low? That's right - they “shoe” their client. And they do it skillfully.

1. They supply the lowest class spare parts.

The main method of profiting from underservices is from incoming “cheap people I want” – clients who want to return a $650 microcomputer to its original form for 1000 rubles. If the service is normal, it simply will not “bend”, because the prices for qualified repairs are not taken from the ceiling and include normal work, and a good spare part, and amortization of the warranty period.

But in various basements, they can easily slip the worst things into an iPhone for a crumpled piece of paper. Because the client is not respected.

Eat 4 types of spare parts for iPhone, Mac and so on. I advise you to understand them so that an unscrupulous service cannot deceive you.

Original taken from new devices. Taken from new, not used. This is done in industrial scale in China and then goes on sale around the world. The price of these spare parts is the highest, but the quality is also maximum. In fact, this is the “true” original.

Original without company logo. The lack of official Apple branding makes them cheaper. In fact, they are exactly the same originals installed in the new iPhones. It's no secret that Apple does not produce most of the hardware, but simply assembles devices from spare parts from large factories. The batteries come from Sony or ATL, the cameras come from LG and Sony, and the barometer comes from Bosch.

“Originals without markings” are not easy to obtain, but they are always available from serious services that value themselves and their clients.

Spare part – “analog”. No longer original, but at least factory produced. This is done by large Asian companies with 2000+ employees, with clean rooms and so on. For example, analog displays for the iPhone come from the Tianma factory, which has about 10 factories. They make screens for everything, including radios, thermometers, e-books and so on.

A good service uses only displays and touchscreens from “analog spare parts”, and always warns the client that this is exactly what analogue. And then it either gives a limited guarantee or does everything without a guarantee.

Spare part Low quality– artisanal. A la plywood display at the Savelovsky market using liquid glue (has a “Chinese” sheen) or film glue in unsterile conditions - this means dirt, dust, and a high probability of static shock to the phone.

There are plenty of such “Savelov’s markets” in China, and, accordingly, there are also a lot of similar spare parts from there. The quality is worse than ever, defective almost everywhere. But they are the cheapest and therefore are used by basement services. The consequences are known to everyone, but the thirst for profit or savings often overwhelms common sense.

As a result budget service will install you spare parts of the 4th type, and in best case scenario- 3rd. And he will also lie that it is “original”. The rest is too expensive for cellars and kills margins.

2. They make you their slave by breaking your iPhone during the repair process.

Man is a lazy, often masochistic creature. If he finds a “basement renovation” around the corner, he is guaranteed to return there, and more than once.

In the basement, the iPhone will be repaired so that it’s next will break many times. The guys know how to milk all the money out of the owner of a buggy smart phone, because they themselves ruined everything. This is their warm “bread” with guaranteed delivery to the window.

Life truth: 95% of breakdowns that occur after initial repairs are due to the negligence of the repairman. When he is paid little, he does his job somehow, and his insides the most sophisticated iPhone They begin to die out like a house of cards.

You love it when your good work is rewarded objectively? They love it too, but the 100 ruble margin on repairs doesn’t make them want to do everything as it should be. But to deceive and put it on the counter is very possible.

Large shopping centers are grateful for the existence of such kulibins, because after them they receive up to 60% of the clientele who want to prematurely end the 7 circles of glitchy hell and interrupt regular trips to “Uncle Vasya’s basement.”

The most frequent breakdowns in progress bad repair and after it:

  • Touch ID dies due to a broken cable, cannot be restored
  • The display squishes, the insulating ring is dented and damaged
  • dust appears under the front or rear camera, sealant is broken
  • the case begins to make noise when shaking, the components are not secured correctly
  • The buttons and the silent mode lever are unstable
  • display sensor is glitchy and works without touching
  • The microphone or speakers begin to wheeze or work poorly
  • SIM card slot is not level

This list can be continued for a very long time. Moreover, a minor “glitch”, such as touchscreen errors, can hide severe damage to components. This means a new renovation, a new visit... and the same thing slavery.

Sometimes it can't be stopped. Reputable service centers often refuse to work on smartphones that have been repeatedly and unsuccessfully repaired by a handicraftsman. In professional jargon, such devices are called "dug".

The components of the recovered iPhones are in such a terrible state that any service center will not take responsibility for repairing them. Except guess who! Ay, daragoy, come in for repairs...

3. They don’t remember about the guarantee, but you will. And you'll regret it

One reader recently shared in the comments a classic “wiring” from a basement service.

He sent his iPhone in for repair to replace the battery, which had expired. When the device was returned, I noticed a “memory effect” on the screen: when the picture changed, some parts of it remained motionless for a short time.

A month later, he went to another service center, where they noticed that the device had low quality replica display. That is, a prefabricated “clone” of low quality. This is because the original was simply damaged during repairs, or someone in bad service he turned out to be “more necessary.”

A time-tested service center would never allow this to happen. The attempt to convict the “basement guy” of forgery failed, they threw up their hands and said that they didn’t know anything, and that foreman had already quit. A man ended up with a spare part worth 8-10 thousand rubles!

How this could have been avoided: initially go to service, which does not dump and includes a real guarantee for all work in the price, not to mention the cost of normal spare parts and a good fee for the master.

Last thing. Don't trust mobile technicians

Field engineers are a huge risk for the client, primarily due to the lack of a normal quality guarantee.

Who do they hire in such offices? The youth. The average training time is a couple of days, and voila, the “engineer” is ready. Then these guys drive around the city, doing repairs at random. Or they cheat/break/stolen.

The main problem is not even qualifications, but responsibility, which does not exist. Such companies often do not have an office, and if something goes wrong, it is almost impossible to find someone to blame.

There are also those who operate on the principle of shell companies selling reassembled iPhones. Today there is one site and service, and after 2 weeks there is another. And you won't dig it.

Fact: no self-respecting service center will stoop to knee-jerk repairs. Choose only those that work stationary, in the SC. And only with normal equipment.

The normal option is regular couriers. They will pick up the device from the client, bring it to the service center, wait for it to be repaired, and then take it back. This way the quality of services will not suffer.

We choose only normal prices. By the way, what are they now?

Don't repeat other people's mistakes. Never contact unqualified semi-basement workshops that offer to repair your iPhone, iPad, Mac or anything else at half the price. This is fiction.

Hello! No equipment can be insured against manufacturing defects and the iPhone, unfortunately, is no exception. Everyone has problems - there is no escape from them. That is why, in matters warranty service What comes to the fore is how the manufacturer solves these same defects. This is where the true face of the company is revealed... At Apple, in my opinion, everything happens for real top level- repairs are almost never made, and in most cases the user receives the new gadget to replace the defective one.

Great? Yes, I think so. But this replacement still needs to be “arrived” in some way. And although there is nothing special or complicated in the process of handing over an iPhone to service under warranty, there are still some important points, which are extremely important to pay attention to.

What kind of moments are these? But this is what we will talk about today. Let's go!

So, your iPhone is broken, and guarantee period() is not over yet.

Where should I take my iPhone under warranty - to a store or service?

The very first thing is to decide where we will take our iPhone for warranty repair. Here the choice will be small:

  1. To the store where the device was purchased.
  2. To an authorized service center.

The buyer has every right go where it is more convenient for him. But even if you take your iPhone to a store, it will eventually be sent to a service center. And this will be convenient only in one case - when it is not possible to visit the ASC on your own (for example, but it is very far away).

In all other cases, it is better to take the iPhone to the service center yourself. Why?

  1. In 99% of cases it is much faster. By law, the store has 45 days to fix the defect in your smartphone. As a rule, this is the number of days you will be without an iPhone (well, maybe a little less). Yes, you can ask for a replacement phone number, but not everyone knows about it. And they don’t always give it, preferring to pay a fine.
  2. In the service itself, all issues are resolved much faster.
  3. In a store, you can spend a long time explaining and arguing with salespeople about why you brought your iPhone back. In some cases, they won’t even want to accept it :) For example, today their program, printer, is not working, there is no person who does it, you need to bring a check, an application, an invoice, a bunch of other papers, etc. In this sense, the service is simpler.

Of course, everything written above is greatly exaggerated, but general meaning, I think, is clear. Therefore, if possible, then return your iPhone to warranty repair It’s better to go directly to the service - it will be faster (that’s for sure) and you’ll waste less nerves (this is in question).

What should I take with me and do I need a receipt for purchase?

Here again, a lot depends on where you go with your broken iPhone. If you go to the store, you may need anything:

  1. Full set.
  2. Cash receipt and sales receipt.
  3. Passport.
  4. Anything else:)

It is clear that the same receipt and complete equipment are not needed when handing over for repairs - Article 18 of the Labor Code:

The consumer's absence of a cash or sales receipt or other document certifying the fact and conditions of purchase of the goods is not grounds for refusal to satisfy his requirements.

But again, a lot depends on the seller and the store.

If you take it directly to the service center, we take with us:

  1. The device itself.
  2. Passport.

Just bring your iPhone (no receipt, headphones, box, charger, stickers, instructions) and that's it. In the service they look at serial number Is the warranty still valid and do they take the phone for repair ().

There are several nuances to keep in mind:

  1. If this is not your first time using this device and “repair by replacement” has already been performed on it, then a receipt for the previous use may be needed to confirm the warranty.
  2. If you are applying for the second year of the warranty (and this happens!) and the first year has already passed, then the receipt will still be useful (as proof of the date of purchase). Another thing is that, with this very second year service Everyone is confused - including Apple itself. It won't be easy to get it.

What should you do with your iPhone before going to a service center?

No supernatural actions are required. Minimal manipulations:

  1. Just in case, do it backup copy your data. Perhaps they will update the iPhone software- the information will be lost. If the iPhone is replaced, then your photos, videos, etc. “will go” to the factory along with the old device.
  2. For the same reason, if there is any confidential or very personal data, it is better to erase it in advance. It is possible through.
  3. Disable the Find My iPhone function and remove the password on the lock screen - if this protection is activated, the device will simply not be accepted at the service center.
  4. Remove jailbreak. - modified software may be a reason for denial of warranty service.

Covers, films and glasses (in case you can reuse them) are also better to remove.

Will the service accept an iPhone with physical damage?

It would seem that everything is ready - you can safely go and change your iPhone under warranty. But we look at the device and see that it has a few scratches and even a small dent. What to do now? Will our gadget be accepted or “deployed”?

You must understand that the service center has special instructions in this regard. And this is called natural wear and tear of the device. No one expects you to bring your iPhone in perfect condition for repair. Some things are completely acceptable and are not grounds for denial of warranty service.

I similar instructions I met you a long time ago (back in iPhone times 4 and 4S) and remembering, I can note that they were talking about even minor cracks (as minimal damage passable for warranty repair), and not just about “ordinary” scratches and abrasions.

Therefore, if there is no nail sticking out of the screen of your iPhone, then it may well be accepted for warranty repair and subsequently replaced with a new one ().

These are all the main points you need to know before returning your iPhone under warranty to a store or service center. But if I forgot something or have questions, welcome to the comments. Let's try to figure it out together.

P.S. By the way, it is absolutely not forbidden to like or click on the social network buttons (below the article). I think they even work. But here we need to check - we can’t do it without your help!

Your iPhone is broken - what should you pay attention to when choosing a service center?

The best place to start is to ask your friends. Often, a quarter of repair company clients come to a particular center based on recommendations. Another 25% turn to services again - these are a kind of “regular customers”.

Pay attention to the reviews of a specific service center: on the official website, on pages in in social networks. But don't forget that you can filter this too. in the right way: If you only see positive reviews, you should think about the company's honesty. It's good when comments are from former clients do not consist of short sentences like: “Great fix. Nice guys!" Of course, there may be such ways of expressing emotions. But how true are they if they are repeated every 2-3 comments?

Also reviews about service centers can be found on platforms like iRecommend. It is convenient to choose a workshop through specialized units such as Pedant (http://pedant.ru): all workshops are conveniently collected there in one column. But the lowest is not always a guarantee good quality, so don’t chase the minimum.

What gadgets break down most often and does this affect pricing?
The screen is the most unprotected part of the iPhone. It is its repair that is the most common in practice and one of the most expensive. Only more expensive motherboard: for example, for iPhone 6, its replacement will cost about 20 thousand rubles. But this is justified, since the board forms the core of the phone and its existence is impossible without it.

Repair companies, in addition to the usual screen replacement, have a “re-gluing” service. This is a slightly cheaper repair option, but, in turn, more risky. In this case, there is no 100% guarantee of the result, and you need to understand that they are installing a used part on your phone.

Nowadays “on-site” repairs are flourishing - why is its price the same as the classic one? How are travel expenses for the technician paid?

Repairs in large cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg have evolved, “on-site” is already new standard. Basic breakdowns (screen, buttons, cables) can be repaired on site - the repair will take about half an hour. Other, more complex work (soldering, electronic diagnostics, recovery after drowning) is best done at a service center.

Apple doesn't make original parts - so what do they replace broken ones with? What to do if you really want original spare parts?

It is common knowledge that Apple and their subcontractors do not produce parts for sale. Therefore, it is impossible to legally purchase the screen that is on your iPhone or iPad. However, a broken screen (or any other part) can be replaced with a real and new one if you remove it from another original Apple product. Thus, we receive an original “donor” part for our mobile phone or tablet.

Where to get donor part?

Option 1: buy new phone/ tablet and remove the necessary part from it. Resell the rest of the gadget. Then, for example, the original glass for an iPhone 6S today will cost about 15 thousand rubles. If they offer you something cheaper, you should think about it. Option 2: Buy an “original” part from a company that does repairs. Real parts are also produced, but not in the most legal way. According to rumors, they can be bought from those who work for mass production"Apple" technology in China (usually they work according to a similar scheme repair services). So, it turns out that Apple factory workers produce the same components, but only at night, when production is officially closed. These same people then resell them to individual buyers.

Service centers offer “copy” and “Original” type parts - what is the difference? Tell us about the gradation of copies (AAA, AA, A) and what is their difference?

A copy is a product produced by those companies that have learned to create pseudo-Apple components by “copying” technology. They, in turn, may differ in certain technical specifications. For example, the copy screen will have a different color rendering: more pink or blue, while the original will have a yellow glow. But, in turn, the same screens will be identical in resolution and other characteristics. Gradations of copies are determined at the same factories where suppliers produce them. And I will say from experience that there is not always logic in this gradation.

Is it better to order original spare parts on AliExpress or e-Bay?

You can, but at your own peril and risk. If a client comes to the service center with his own “part,” the repairman has the right to refuse to provide him with a warranty because he cannot guarantee its quality.

The bullseye logo on the train is quite easy to fake. Such fakes are not always of high quality and visible to the naked eye. When buying “original” spare parts from online stores like AliExpress or e-Bay, you are unlikely to receive any specific guarantees. The same applies self-repair according to YouTube videos - at your own peril and risk.

Apple announced that it will open an official service center in Russia - what will this change?

Apple doesn't need the repair market itself. The entire company exists on a huge myth that it has created around its project. The myth that the iPhone itself is not just a phone, but a super-object. Starting to repair it means destroying that very myth. Let them go behind the scenes and reveal everything as it is.

According to the court (we are talking about the claim of Dmitry Petrov - Note edit.) Apple was obliged to build an official service center in Russia, but the question remains: how far will it go? It is unknown whether the company will a full-fledged system with all the main services or create a department for a tick with at a high price, long-term repairs and work in accordance with all conceivable internal standards. On the other hand, if Apple does open own service, then it is unlikely to cost less than those that exist now. The company will raise prices for its own repair services at the expense of the supplier’s brand and guarantees.

Apple says it doesn't supply original parts because installing them requires a special factory that goes through an arduous "calibration" process. How do they repair everything?

The so-called “calibration” is nonsense. It can be verified in practice that a common person, who repairs iPhones, is able to fix basic breakdowns: replace glass, sticky buttons or a burnt-out battery. The “special plant” and secret “calibration” methods are also part of the myth about the exclusivity and unique “cosmic” origin of Apple technology.

How will this affect existing companies that are repairing equipment today?

In this case, the repair “standards” established by Apple will indicate the exact price tag for third-party service centers. Thus, such companies will be able to set their own, lower price, and approximately the same guarantees for repairs and maintenance.

This circumstance will also increase competition, during which weaker and insolvent companies are unlikely to be able to resist. But those that remain will provide services at a fairly decent level. And, perhaps, such an “unofficial” service will be much more effective due to several factors: the repair will take less time and, presumably, will be cheaper.

It is important to choose a reliable, modern and high-quality service to repair your iPhone. The company must have:

  • - Free diagnostics, delivery of gadgets and a technician visiting your home,

Rising prices for Apple technology I did it twice topical issue its repair. And where there is a service center, there are a lot of myths and prejudices associated with both the process and its organization. Read on for a few popular myths, prejudices and urban legends on the topic of renovation, answered by our friends from ModMac.

This story is familiar to everyone. They believed the sign, hurried and gave their device to incompetent repairmen and “foggy” offices. We received the device back either with a defect or not repaired at all - and they also paid a lot of money for no clear reason. To choose the right service and don't get scammed, we invite you to get acquainted with the 7 most common myths about service centers and “repair” kiosks.

1. Lowest prices

But economical...

Myth: Low prices are good! There is no point in overpaying for work. There is no difference in the master and spare parts, which means that where it is cheaper is where you should go.

Reality: Low prices have never been a good indicator of the performance of a service center. If prices are below average, then we can assume that the workshop is saving on something. On rent? Most likely no. On an engineer? In this case, there is a suspicion of poor quality repairs. On the equipment? Maybe, since low-quality equipment is quite common, and it is difficult for the client to understand that a lot depends on it. For spare parts? Now judge for yourself. Cheap spare parts are not always high quality.

Advice: A beautiful website and office are the merit of programmers and management, but in no way an indicator of the skills of engineers and the quality of components. Expensive equipment, qualified staff and time-tested suppliers of spare parts are a real indicator. But for most clients this remains in the background, since they do not see or know the entire repair process.

To avoid making mistakes, read reviews of the most discussed service centers (not on their website, but in other places), listen to the advice of friends who have visited this or that workshop, and communicate with engineers - they will never refuse to explain the essence to you Problems. Before heading to an unfamiliar service center, check by phone the full cost of repairing your device. Marketing moves - the website describes the cost of just repairs, and the price of the spare part will be announced to you after the work has been completed - can be an indicator not only of the center’s dishonesty, but also of the low quality of the repairs.

2. We only use original components

Myth: Original spare parts...
-...simply necessary! You just need to install them.
– ...exist only in new iPhone! In service centers they only put “China”.

Reality: There is no doubt that it is necessary to put only the “original”! Just try to find it first. Original Apple components are usually available from workshops, but in limited quantities. They are divided into two groups: “factory original” and “original from the device”. Factory spare parts are supplied only by trusted suppliers, and their cost is high, unlike “Chinese” parts of any quality gradation - A, A+, AAA, etc. Basically, factory parts are used when replacing the display, back cover, body, battery and camera module.

The second myth is partly true. After all, almost everything we use is made in China. And components for Apple are no exception. Here it is important to know that “China” can be different. In addition to the “garbage,” there are good companies that produce cables, microphones, speakers, and power connectors. Their products are no worse than those installed in your device. A good service center can connect you with the best suppliers available. And then clients will not be offended.

Advice: Original spare parts are installed only in those service centers where they value their reputation.. We, in turn, if the client is not ready to pay for original spare parts, we try to install the most proven components and let us compare spare parts of different quality, so that the client can be convinced that for that he pays money.

3. Misleading diagnostics. We have discovered a new defect...

Myth: in the service center they are diluted during diagnostics.

Reality: Maybe they will scam you :) It depends on which service center you contact. But this should not affect the process itself. And even more so to scare away. Diagnostics is an integral part of the process necessary to achieve a positive result during repairs. To professionally fix a problem, you first need to find out what caused it: find out the background, test the device on various equipment.

If the client is not ready to wait and wants to pick up the device faster, he himself risks getting poor quality repairs. Those who have read various advice on the Internet, a person may not realize that his problem could be something else. To exclude such a situation, diagnostics are carried out. Another thing is that small service centers can “weave” in order to make money additional problems with the device or simply perform an expensive procedure and convince you that it is necessary.

Advice: The work of diagnosing a device is based on the client’s trust in the service center he contacted. We try to clearly and competently explain to the person the essence of the problem, set approximate deadlines for the work and announce the cost. If you have a serious problem with your phone, we strongly do not recommend that you go to a little-known repair shop.

4. Theft of original spare parts from the phone

Myth: In the service, they remove original spare parts from phones and install fake ones.

Reality: Unfortunately, this procedure really practiced. Fortunately, this only happens in those workshops where it is very difficult to purchase quality products and there is a need to replenish stocks of original components. A large and qualified service center will not commit such a crime, since this procedure on their scale is devoid of benefits. A self-respecting service has all the necessary spare parts in stock various quality– both original and good copies.

Advice: IN in this case everything again depends on the reputation of the service center. For example, when we accept a device that has been in another service for repair, we immediately notify the client about visible replacements of components and missing parts in order to nip in the bud the poor quality work of previous repairmen.

5. We do it the fastest*

Myth: The faster the better! I can change the glass myself in half an hour, following a video on YouTube. The master should do this much faster!

Reality: Remember the proverb? “If you hurry, you’ll make people laugh.” Electronics repair has a lot in common with the life of a jeweler. This fine work, requiring professional approach and concentration. The time it takes to complete the work depends on the craftsman’s accuracy, cleanliness, experience, thorough inspection after assembly, and so on.

Getting your iPhone repaired quickly is always possible, but not advisable. Exists human factor, because we are not robots at the Foxconn plant. If it concerns complex work, like soldering microelements, then such work is done wisely and requires not only patience and perseverance. This is partly why many service centers refuse to carry out serious work. Time spent on them goes against philosophy make quick money and “quick replacement of displays.” And when they receive a device that cannot be done without soldering, such centers quietly redirect the device to the hands of more qualified craftsmen and workshops. And this takes a lot of time.

Advice: Wait patiently for the service center to complete its work. The better they install this or that spare part, the less nerves and money you will spend on correcting blots. If a device is returned with a breakdown, its owner is informed of adequate repair times based on the experience of thousands of other similar operations. But don’t forget about the workload of the craftsmen, this really happens.

6. Ordering spare parts

Myth: If they said that you have to wait two weeks for a spare part, they are lying, they are just delaying the deadlines and want more money. I'll go to others.

Reality: From time to time, any service center needs to order rare or expensive spare parts. There is no point in stocking several spare motherboards from each existing model Mac. Unlike cables and other “trifles,” motherboards are probably the only spare part in Apple technology that the Chinese cannot yet “replicate” on other equipment. Accordingly, all replacement motherboards are “removed” from donor devices.

Buy new board quite difficult. All deliveries from China undergo border controls, and quite strong ones at that. Often the speed from delivery to receipt is delayed by customs, and not by the supplier or service. If it seems to you that they are still trying to deceive you or are simply lazy, you can call another service center and ask if they have the necessary spare part in stock. This is better than refusing after diagnostics and announcing a deadline: not only are you setting up the service center, which could have already ordered the necessary spare part for you, but you also risk waiting exactly the same amount of time elsewhere.

Advice: Before going to the service center, we recommend checking by phone whether the necessary spare part is in stock, finding out the quality of the components, the timing and full cost of the work, and only after that making a decision about whether to send the device to this particular service.

7. Saving on accessories

Myth: There is no point in overpaying for the original lightning cable and other accessories from Apple. I bought a cord at the crossing for 300 rubles - zero differences from the real thing.

Reality: The cheaper the cable, the less your device will last you. Cheap charging device and cords are one of the main causes of premature iPhone breakdowns, iPad and mobile gadgets generally. Many people think that overpaying for accessories is a thankless task, but at the same time they use a smartphone with a premium markup. Funny and sad at the same time. If you bought an iPhone for $1000, take it and high quality USB cable, as well as the original power supply.

“Overpaying” for original accessories includes a multiple reduction in the risk of one day taking a dead device out of your pocket. Replacing a burnt-out power chip is not an easy procedure, sometimes requiring the purchase of a solid motherboard at a huge cost. Moral - do not spare a penny so as not to pay tens of thousands.
