Where to start creating a poster with chocolates and inscriptions with your own hands

You can go in two ways: write a list of goods in advance, come up with interesting phrases for them and only then go to the store, or first buy various goodies, and then dream up and write text while working. Ideas will come to your mind on their own. For inspiration you can look finished works other craftswomen or the examples shown in the photographs in this article.

Having assessed the scale of the work, you can go to the store for whatman paper of a suitable format. It's better to buy a large poster and cut it if necessary than a small one that won't fit much.

Instructions: how to make a poster with chocolates and inscriptions

  • When all the goodies, other goods for the poster and materials have been collected, you can start creative process. For convenience, it is better to lay everything out on the floor or big table. Now it's time to evaluate your purchases.
  • Place whatman paper in front of you and place goodies and other interesting things on it. Move items as necessary until you are happy with the result. If ideas for writing accompanying phrases come to your mind, be sure to write them down. Don't rely on your memory, as you will forget them later.
  • On another sheet of paper, write down how everything is laid out for you, or just take a photo.
  • Think about the design: what the background will be like, how you can fill in the empty spaces.
  • Assess how much space there is for phrases. The text should not be small, especially if you are making a large poster with chocolates and inscriptions with your own hands, and not a small organizer folder.

  • Color the background if necessary. Let it dry.
  • We glue presents and printed wishes. If you want to write the text by hand, then do it carefully. Otherwise, the recipient, instead of rejoicing, will parse what is written. Observe the height and slope of the letters; a ruler will help with this. If you are not confident in your abilities, first draw with a simple pencil, and only then paint. For expressiveness large phrases You can circle it with a black marker.
  • Fill the voids with paints or beautiful pictures.

The congratulatory poster is ready!

How to give a “delicious” poster

  • Arrange a surprise. Just leave the poster you made with chocolates and do-it-yourself inscriptions for your loved one in a visible place. The recipient will find the gift himself.
  • If you plan to give a gift during the feast, then present the poster when everyone is assembled. Let the hero of the occasion read out the wishes himself. Such a gift can be made in advance together with all guests.
  • Surprise in delivery. Ask a friend to play the messenger and deliver the gift. Or you can order delivery. This is especially true if the recipient does not live nearby, and you do not have the opportunity to congratulate him personally. Usually packages intrigue people when they are not expecting them.

Before you go for another postcard with a standard and impersonal wish, think that a person will be more pleased not with a purchase on a quick fix, but a gift made with love especially for him.

Posters surround us everywhere - we see them every day on the streets or in printed publications. This is mainly advertising and, less often, announcements of any events. A political poster appears in our field of vision immediately before elections, when campaigning begins and is therefore quite rare. What should a good poster be like? First of all, the poster must be informative. People need to read the message instantly - and the designer's job is to present the poster's idea in the best possible way. in an understandable form. And it doesn’t matter at all by what means this will be done - the main thing is that people immediately understand what they want to tell them.

Typically, poster design begins with choosing its size. In this regard, there are no restrictions - the poster can be small, for example, A4 format, or vice versa, gigantic, the size of a house wall. Of course, there are certain size standards, but this is not a question of design, but a question of the capabilities of printing technology. Poster orientation can be either vertical or horizontal, but vertical orientation is most often used.

How to distinguish a good poster from a bad one? This is, of course, a matter of taste, but a properly designed poster has certain characteristics. FreelanceToday brings to your attention 10 signs of a good poster.

GOOD READABILITY

Let's say we have a poster that announces an upcoming event, such as a concert by a popular artist. Key information, placed on a poster, should be read from afar and attract people's attention. Accordingly, there should be a visual hierarchy in the text of the poster. If there is a lot of text, then there must be at least three hierarchical layers.

Heading. This is the most important and largest text design element. It should be contrasting with the background and typed in a font that is clearly visible even from a long distance.

Details. What? Where? When? All such information is located at the second level of the hierarchy. A person who is interested in the poster will definitely want to familiarize himself with detailed information, so it needs to be presented in a clear, but at the same time concise form. For the second level the font is used smaller size, rather than in the header, since there is no need for this information to be read from afar.

Small font. On the third level there is Additional Information. Very often, small print is found on movie posters and advertising posters.

CONTRAST

Designers have only one opportunity to attract the viewer's attention. Therefore, the poster must be “catchy”. This can be achieved using contrasting elements. On the web, you can create a pale illustration with a smooth gradient and fashionable thin fonts - this method is not suitable for a regular poster. The sharper the text or illustration contrasts with the background, the more noticeable the poster. When starting a design, you first need to decide on the contrast of the elements and constantly check it while working. If the designer is working on a color poster, you need to periodically check how it looks in shades of gray - the contrast of the main elements should be clearly visible in this mode.

SIZE AND POSITION

Very often the designer knows in advance where his poster will be placed. Based on this information, he must select the correct poster size. It is important that the message of the poster is not interfered with by various visual interferences - it should occupy a dominant position. Concerning color range, then here you also need to proceed from reality - if you know that the poster will hang on a wall painted in green color, then it is better not to use shades close to green in the poster.

THE POSTER WORKS REGARDLESS OF THE SIZE

Very often, novice designers refuse tasks that require them to create a large poster, say 10 by 6 meters. For some reason, it seems to them that creating such a poster is much more difficult than some poster the size of an A4 sheet. This is a big misconception. If a poster is laid out correctly, it will look equally good regardless of size and will not be affected by scaling. If a designer has been commissioned to create a poster that will then be used in advertising and will be produced in a variety of sizes and formats (including digital), he should think first of all about the composition and main idea and not worry about where it will be placed his creation.

BIG IMAGES

If a poster uses an image, it should occupy a dominant position, just as in the case of text. The image should be clearly visible from afar, and it is very important to take care of recognizing the image. There is no need to overly complicate the visuals - you need to use as many elements as required to convey the main idea. This principle applies to all types of posters, including movie posters, which are sometimes too overloaded with details.

NEGATIVE SPACE

A poster is not a painting, so the designer simply needs to work with the available space. You should not try to fill the entire poster - you need to “leave some air.” There are a few effective ways increase the readability of the poster. For example, you can increase the space between letters. Tight kerning may look good on a postcard, but for a poster, readability is still more important. If the letters are located too close, then the text becomes difficult to distinguish from afar, which is highly not recommended. You can also increase the distance between the lines - this will also benefit the poster.

CALL TO ACTION

The purpose of any poster is to get people to take some action, for example, visit a show, exhibition, buy a product, or go to the polls. The call to action is the most important, central element of the poster and the designer should pay primary attention to it. Unlike web design, graphics do not work interactively, so its principles cannot be used in a regular poster. U graphic designer other tools to convey the message to people and he must make every effort to ensure that the call to action is clear at a glance.

UNUSUAL TYPOGRAPHY

A poster is exactly the genre where you can safely experiment with typography. Some of the most famous posters are made without illustrations and graphic elements and at the same time perfectly express the idea. Using high-quality typography will give the poster personality - the main thing is that the designer does not overdo it. You shouldn’t use 10 fonts in one poster – it won’t make the design any better. It's best to pay attention to visual hierarchy and the use of negative space. The letters themselves carry a certain message and correct understanding typography principles will allow designers to create emotional and memorable posters.

HANDMADE

Appearance computer graphics clearly did not benefit the art of the poster. Previously, the designer worked with living materials and the posters looked completely different than they do today. Today, the sign of a good poster is its execution technique. And it doesn’t matter that the designer created it on a computer - if the poster has soul and it looks like the designer drew it by hand, then it’s a good poster. Well, if the poster went into print as before, with physical media– this is absolutely wonderful.

Audacity

Any good poster has a certain shocking quality – this greatly enhances the emotional message. So don’t be afraid to go beyond the boundaries and use unusual elements in your poster. By breaking some established rules, the designer draws attention to the poster, and this is exactly what is needed.

CONCLUSION: Poster is a very interesting type of graphics that allows designers to give free rein to their imagination. Besides this great way master new technology or improve your skills. Sometimes creating a poster is very difficult because you need to convey an idea using a minimum of means. But in any case, it’s interesting – especially when the poster turns out well and attracts people’s attention.

Today we will create a retro poster with a space theme. You can print this poster and please your fellow astronauts =)

Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin, the Soviet pilot-cosmonaut, was the first to go into space when his Vostok spacecraft orbited the Earth on April 12, 1961. In this Photoshop tutorial, we'll create a colorful retro poster inspired by Yuri Gagarin's journey to space. We will combine stock photos ( available photos their various resources), textures and brushes with techniques and filter blending modes. If you're ready to get started, then let's get started!

This is what you should end up with:

Step 1.

Open Adobe Photoshop and create a document according to your desired dimensions. Don't forget to set a high DPI (150-300 dpi) and color mode CMYK if you plan to print your work. For this tutorial I created a document measuring 800x1200px, RGB colors at 72dpi (dots per inch) for web use.

Step 2.

Download and open starry sky image , use free movement ( Free Transform) by holding down the Ctrl+T keys, this will allow us to rotate and scale our image so that it fits on our poster.

Adjust Color background as shown in the picture below:

Step 3.

Download a photo from the Internet astronaut . Open it in Photoshop and enlarge it. Using your tool Pen Tool(P), outline the astronaut. After that, copy it onto the space background.

Apply scaling on the astronaut against the background of space. You should end up with an image similar to the one below:

Adjust Color tone so that the astronaut looks natural against the background of space:

Create a duplicate of the astronaut layer by pressing Ctrl + J. After that, open the "Filter" tab, hover over the "Blur" tab and select the "Gaussian Blur" filter. Set the filter radius to 1.4 px and set the layer opacity to 50%.

Step 4.

Download an image from the Internet Earth and open it in photoshop. Use the tool" Oval area" and select the outline of the Earth. Copy it onto our poster and place it behind the astronaut.

Adjust the saturation so that the Earth is darkened. Set the value to -40.

Clamp Ctrl button and click on the image of the Earth. You will highlight it. Create new layer and fill the selected area with black. Move the filled black circle to the right so that only part of the Earth remains visible.

Now let's use the Gaussian Blur filter on the selected black circle. Set the radius value to 30 px. By darkening the Earth in this way, we will introduce realism to our work.

And now let's set the opacity of the black layer to 80%.

Step 5.

Now let's add some highlights to our poster. Create a new layer and fill it with black. Open the filters tab at the top of the screen and hover your mouse over "Rendering". In the tab that opens, select "Highlights". Select "Start Movie" and set the "Brightness" to 100%. After that, place the flash of light so that it is at the edge of the Earth, and there is a glow in the middle.

Step 6

Download online cloud image and place it on our poster. Turn them into black and white by holding down the Ctrl+Shift+U key combination. Apply scaling to this image.

Now let's adjust the color of the clouds. Press Ctrl+L and set the brightness values as in the image below.

Let's add some flair to our poster. In the constellation Monoceros there is a protoplanetary nebula called "Red rectangle" . Let's download its image from the Internet and open it in Photoshop. Let's desaturate it, select it, and press Ctrl+T to place it on our poster. An example you can see in the figure below:

Select the nebula. In the "Layers" tab, select the "Screen" mode.

Go to the "Layer Mask" menu and select "Show All". Change the Foreground color to black. Press G to select the Gradient Tool. Use it to soften the edges of the nebula.

The shade we'll use is #640775. Select the Brush tool and use a large soft brush to smooth out the nebula.

Change the layer's blending properties to Multiply. Then press Alt+Ctrl+G to create a clipping mask. Press Ctrl+J to create a copy of this layer. Change the layer blending properties to " Soft light".

Now we need to find and download on the network satellite image . After that we will open it in photoshop. Put it on our poster.

If you double-click on a layer, the "Layer Style" menu will open. Let's apply the Color Overlay effect.

Now duplicate the satellite layer and apply the Gaussian Blur filter with a radius of 1.4 px. After that, change the layer blending properties to “Soft Light”. Set the opacity to 90%.

Step 7

It's time to add a planet to our poster. The easiest way to do this is from a texture. Let's find and download from the network rust texture and open it in photoshop.
Select part of the texture with the Oval Area tool and place it on our poster.

Press Ctrl+T and make our planet smaller.

Now apply a filter to the layer with our planet. Select "Distortion" and then "Spherization" in the filters tab. Set the filter value to 100%. This way we will make the planet more voluminous and realistic.

Let's move the planet to the left top corner and add some layer style effects.

Now let's create a shadow of the planet using the method described in step 4. This is what we should get:

Let's create a new layer. Now let's select unsaturated pink color(#eebbfb). Now with the help soft brush let's create a spot.

Now apply a Gaussian Blur filter with a radius of 130 px to this layer. Let's set the opacity to 70% and move the effect back.

Let's create another green layer. Now let's place another spot, only this time at the top of the poster.

Apply a Gaussian Blur to this layer with a radius of 150 and set the opacity to 50%.

Step 8

Press Ctrl+A to select all objects, and then, opening the “Editing” tab at the top of the screen, select “Copy combined data” from the menu. Copy these objects twice to a new layer and set the blending mode to multiply.
Select the layer that is located immediately after the original one and apply the “Edge Enhancement” filter to it, located in the “Stylize” tab. Set the opacity to 20% and set the blending mode to Overlay. As a result, we should get an image similar to the picture below. The topmost layer on it is disabled.

Now we need to select the topmost layer and apply the “Edge Glow” filter to it, located in the “Stylize” tab. Set the parameters listed below.
Edge width - 2
Edge brightness - 8
Smoothness - 10

We need to desaturate this layer using Shift+Ctrl+U.

Let's invert the colors by pressing Ctrl+I

Let's set the opacity to 40%.

Go to the bottommost source layer and apply a Noise filter on it with a value of 20%. Select the Gaussian distribution and check the box next to the "Monochrome" mode.

Set the blending mode to “Soft Light”

Download retro texture and put it on our poster. Set the opacity to 25% and the layering method to Linear Light.

Step 9

Now we need to download the fonts League Gothic And Deftone Stylus After that they need to be installed. Let's write the word Journey.

Select “Soft Light” in the overlay properties. After that, duplicate the layer and set the blending method to “Overlay”.

We will use this method for all the text elements on our poster.

Step 10

We moved on to last step. Let's go to the "New Adjustment Layer" tab, which is located inside the "Layer" menu and select "Gradient Map". The gradient value should be from #1c004b to #fa9900. Set the opacity to 40%.

We have finished creating the poster. We hope that you learned a lot of new and interesting things. See you again!

Turn on the computer. The lightest and effective method to draw a poster - resort to the help of a computer and a graphics program, for example, Photoshop, in which we will draw our first example. And if you don’t have such a program, you can use others graphic editors- for example, GIMP and Pixlr (both, by the way, are free). Although the steps below are specific to Photoshop, most editors have the same or similar features.

Let's launch Photoshop. When the program is fully loaded, you can start creating a new document using the specified parameters:

  • Width 200 mm
  • Height: 265 mm
  • Resolution: 300 pixels per inch
  • Color scheme: CMYK
  • Background color: white
  • The established parameters are the approximate size of an A4 sheet, with a pixel density of 300 per inch, which will allow you to get a clear printed image. We chose color scheme CMYK (Cyan - cyan, Magenta - magenta, Yellow - yellow, blacK - black), because printers work with such ink colors, while monitors are designed for color RGB scheme. If the application you're using doesn't support CMYK, don't worry—even though the printed colors will differ from the screen image, they'll still look great.
  • Remember: if you can use the services of a printing house, do not stop at A4 format. It is better to call the specialists and clarify the maximum size of paper used for printing and set the document to the appropriate size.
  • Select a background color. You want a bright, eye-catching color, but it's important not to overdo it so that the brightness of the background doesn't overwhelm the main image. Don't worry if it doesn't work out right away - you can always change the color. If the poster is made for a specific event, the design can be made in appropriate colors. For example, if your school colors are burgundy and gold, you can use the latter for a nice, bright background.

Add pictures or graphics. And if you're not confident in your artistic skills, look online free pictures, which you can add (with or without modifications) to your poster.

  • Come up with a catchy title. Choose a large, eye-catching font for it. And more detailed description You can type it in a smaller font.

    • Achieve maximum readability. Experiment with font and color, but in any case limit yourself to 2-3 different fonts - no more.
  • Adding details. Since we have already attracted the reader's attention, it is time for the “fine print”. But the details must be formulated as well as the title. Although the text here may be longer and the font may be slightly smaller, keep it concise. The fewer messages placed on a poster, the better they achieve their goal.

    • Please note: the smaller the font, the simpler it should be. In the header we use bold yellow borders, in the “Tie Week” area the font is smaller and the borders are much thinner. Finally, we don’t use borders or shadows at all in dates.
    • It is also important to remember about the layout: all text is aligned horizontally to the left and vertically to the top edge - this is necessary for a harmonious look of the poster. Unless, of course, your goal is crazy design.
  • Very often marketers use posters in their advertising campaigns. Let's look at how to make it, what to pay attention to when designing, and where it's best to place it.

The poster is real art. Marketers, designers and artists around the world compete in the beauty, effectiveness and uniqueness of their masterpieces.

But creating a poster is not as easy as it might seem. Designers need to consider a ton of details both during the creation process and after. We read, save and learn new things.

The Frenchman, according to many, is an artist of relatively small talent, which, however, did not prevent him from becoming the creator of a new genre. In 1866, he opened a workshop for the production of lithographic paintings, which was the beginning of the poster.
