MSI Potential

Another gaming modification that needed a review. Overclocking the MSI GTX 1050 Ti is worthy of attention, as it showed good results. The model belongs to the Gaming X line. This option also received increased frequencies from the factory. 1290 became 1354 MHz. The memory is still 7 GHz. As in previous model, there are special profiles that regulate the speed and power of the accelerator.

There is also an increased power limit. This means that even the most heavy loads do not allow energy consumption to rise to the maximum. Since overclocking of this model takes place thanks to proprietary utility, softvolt mod support opens ample opportunities this process.

However, it was not comfortable to play; the processor was constantly loaded at 100%, and the game froze. Lowering the settings and disabling Nvidia HairWorks did nothing, performance remained the same. This means that in The Witcher 3 the Pentium G4400 does not reveal the GTX 1050 Ti.

Sniper Elite 3


Sniper Elite 3 turned out to be less demanding on hardware. The processor power was enough for her: even at the highest settings (with anti-aliasing), the processor was not loaded to the limit, while the video card had enough work, and it produced an average of more than 30 FPS. Disabling supersampling had a very positive effect on performance. GeForce GTX 1050 Ti was able to produce consistently high FPS: minimum 80, and average 103 frames per second.

Metro: Last Light

Metro Last Light is not a very new toy, but even by today's standards it is quite demanding. It has a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, when turning on maximum settings and SSAA anti-aliasing, it was almost impossible to play. FPS almost never rose above 20, which is very low. The minimum threshold we saw was 13, the average was 18 FPS.

Disabling antialiasing made a huge difference general position. At maximum settings, but without SSAA, the minimum FPS was 30, and the average was 50.

Reduce graphics quality to SSAA 0.5x allows you to play comfortably even for those for whom 50 FPS is not enough. In this mode The frame rate does not drop below 51, and on average the video card is capable of delivering 70 FPS.

GTA V

GTA V is a rather contradictory game in terms of requirements. On the one hand, it is well optimized and adapts to any hardware, delivering a tolerable frame rate. Its minimum value was 31, and the average was 35 frames per second.

However, not everything turned out to be so simple: in the swamps, near military base, due to the abundance of grass and water, the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti showed that it had a hard time. In this place, the FPS indicator did not rise above 30, and sometimes dropped to 21-23 frames per second. Playing with the graphics settings did not give any noticeable results, the average FPS was about 40. But as soon as the city population and population diversity were reduced, performance increased significantly.
