How to use nero startsmart essentials. Burn a disc using Nero Burning ROM

Nero is one of the most the best tools to control your computer's functions. It will help you perform any operations with your files - music, images and video files. Let's try to look at how to use Nero. Of course, it is impossible to describe all the functions that these programs perform. We'll talk about the main features.

Using Nero's main launch window Start Smart, we get access to all components of this set of programs. Here we can choose what we need - create a DVD or CD, record or edit audio, etc. This start window is a huge help for beginners. In order not to remember the names of all Nero tools and what each of them is intended for, you just need to select necessary task. Then you just need to follow the instructions. Let's look at just a few tools:

Nero Wave Editor– for working with audio files. Using this tool, you can record sound or music using the microphone built into your laptop or connected to your computer. Having launched the program window, we will see the work area. If we drag a file there, we will see its hologram relative to the time line. Having selected the desired area, you can distort it, trim it, glue it, or perform other operations, just as you would do with a simple piece of fabric. All necessary operations are located in the tabs: tools, effects and improvement. At the bottom there are buttons like those of a player for rewinding, playing and stopping the sound. In order to mix audio, Nero provides a separate tool - Nero SoundTrax. You can access it either from the program list or by selecting the command – Mix Audio CD.

If you need to write down new disk, then you need to select the appropriate program. Let's describe this using the Nero Express tool as an example. First you need to select the disk type. Then you will see a window where you will need to drag and drop the files you want to record. The graph below will show how much of the disk is already full. It is important that it is green. If it turns yellow or, worse, red, this means that there are too many files and they will not fit on the disk. Next you will be offered several settings. For example, write speed. It's better not to use it maximum speed, since most likely you will ruin the disk. For example, if the disk speed is 32x, then select 16x. You can set this parameter in the column on the left. You can also use the imitation function before recording a real disc. This way you can check whether you can write these files. This will help you save money and not spoil it. extra disk. The function “verification” of data is needed to verify your project. Having set all the parameters, you can safely press the “Burn” button.

You will find others in the list of Nero programs. Over time, you will gain enough experience to try all of these tools. Like a good carpenter who uses everything at his disposal, with all these programs you can create what you need.

Nero is one of the most powerful disc burning programs. It has many functions built into it, although most often people don’t use half of what it’s capable of.

We will learn to burn to blank CDs and DVD disc and through the Nero Express program, since it is the simplest and most convenient.

To open it, click on the “Start” button, open “Programs” (All Programs), find “Nero” in the list that appears and open Nero Express.

To begin with, the program prompts you to select the data type (Data; Music; Video/Pictures; Image, project, copier).

We will burn to a CD or DVD using the “Data” item. The fact is that this option is universal: you can record text, pictures, music, and video through it. Moreover, such a disk will open on any other computer (not only on yours).

Click on the “Data” item. WITH right side Nero select the disk on which you want to burn the information - CD or DVD.

Just don't forget to paste blank disk to the computer.

A new window will open.

Click on the "Add" button on the right.

A window will open overlaying the Nero program. Find the files and folders in it that you want to burn. Please note: on the left side you can select a different location (Computer, Documents, etc.).

When you find in the window necessary files and folders, add them. To do this, left-click once on the file or folder you want to record and click the “Add” button at the bottom.

You can add as many files and folders as you like, the main thing is to make sure that the disk does not become full. To do this, the Nero program has a bar at the bottom. As long as there is enough space, the strip is filled with green. Make sure it doesn't turn red. This will mean that the disk is full.

After this, the window will change.

Click the Record (Burn) button.

And wait. The recording process is in progress.

When the disc is burned, it will most likely pop out of the computer itself, and a small window will appear in the center of the Nero program in which it will say “Burning completed successfully” or something similar. Click the "OK" button in this window, then the "Next" button at the bottom right and close the Nero program.

In the lesson How to burn to disk. CD burning we learned to burn files and folders from our computer onto a blank CD. This way you can burn to disk from any computer, without special programs. But, alas, it will not be possible to record information on a DVD disc this way. The computer simply “doesn’t know how” to do this...

For reference: some versions operating systems(For example, Windows Vista or Windows 7) still “know how” to burn and erase DVD discs. But, frankly speaking, they are not doing it very well.

So how do we burn the necessary files and folders to a DVD disc? After all, only 700 Megabytes can fit on a CD, but five or even ten times more can fit on a DVD.

How to burn to DVD

There are many programs with which we can write down to empty DVD disc. In this lesson we will learn how to use the most popular program for recording discs. It's called Nero.

Many people already have this program on their computer; you just need to learn how to use it. Now we will check if you have it. Click on the “Start” button and select “Programs” (or “All programs”) from the list. Will open quite big list. Look carefully at his points. If the Nero program is installed on your computer, then in this list there should be an item called Nero.

If you have not found such a program on your computer, then there is no point in reading the next part of the lesson. A lesson “Free program for burning discs” has been prepared especially for you.

In the meantime, some students are learning to burn DVDs without Nero, we, the happy owners of this wonderful program, will learn how to use it.

Nero is one of the most powerful disc burning programs. This program has many functions built into it; it “can” and “can do” a lot of things. True, most often, people do not use even half of what this program is capable of. And therefore, in our lesson we will look only at the basic features of Nero, and leave everything additional for next time.

Burn DVDs using Nero Express

Open the program Nero Express. To do this, click on the “Start” button, open “Programs” (or “All Programs”), and in the list that appears, find the “Nero” item. If additional options open, select “Nero” again and finally open Nero Express. You may have a slightly different sequence of actions, but the result should be the same - the Nero Express program will open. Express, and not some other Nero program!

Nero Express- the simplest and convenient program for recording discs. It looks something like this:

Nero Express program (Fig. 1)

True, it happens that more than old version this program and it looks like this:

Old version of Nero Express (Fig. 2)

Instructions for those who have Nero 7 and higher (Figure 1)

To begin with, Nero prompts you to select the type of data that you will burn to the disc (Data; Music; Video/Pictures; Image, Project, Copier).

In this lesson we will burn to a DVD using the “Data” item. The fact is that this item is universal: through it you can write text, pictures, music, and video to disk. And such a disk will open on any other computer (not just yours). We will “try” other types of discs (Music, Video/Pictures, etc.) another time.

Click on the “Data” item. On the right side, Nero “asks” us whether we are going to burn to a CD or DVD. Since we are learning how to burn DVDs, we click on the “DVD with data” item.

Just remember to insert a blank DVD into your computer.

A new window will open.

Click on the "Add" button on the right.

A window will open overlaying the Nero program. In this window, find the files and folders you want to burn to disk. Please note that on the left side you can select a different location (My Computer, My Documents, etc.).

When you find the necessary files and folders in the window, add them to the disk. To do this, left-click once on the file or folder that you want to burn to disk and click the “Add” button at the bottom.

You can add as many files and folders as you like, the main thing is to make sure that the disk does not become full. To do this, the Nero program has a bar at the bottom. As long as there is enough space on the disk, this strip is filled green colors. Make sure that this strip does not turn red. This will mean that the disk is full.

The process of burning discs in Nero is very simple and accessible even to a novice user - now you will see this. Let's burn a disc with your favorite mp3 music in Nero. Fortunately, anyone can download it for free.

Two steps away from the goal

First we insert into optical drive PC or laptop blank CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW disc. You can immediately select the destination drive and name the disc to be recorded. In our case, this is “Music”.

The first is by using the +Add button, the second is by simply dragging files and folders into the Nero workspace. Pay attention to the line below - it shows the maximum possible volume of data written to the disk and the current volume of files “thrown” into the program for further recording.

Before you start, check the recording speed mode - minimum, safe, automatic or maximum - and you are ready. All that remains is to click “Record”.

Other features of Nero

The Nero program also allows you to copy data from disk to disk. To do this, insert blank media of the above types into each drive. In the source drive - the disk from which data will be copied, and in the destination drive - target disk for copying. In this case, the volume of such a disk must be at least equal to the volume of data copied to it. Ready? Then click “Copy” and drink coffee! Nero will do everything herself.

The developers did not forget about “single-drive” users. For them, when copying, you first need to insert the disk from which you will copy into the drive and click “Copy”. Nero will create a temporary image that will be written to the disc you insert into the drive next.

Moreover, as in other Nero versions, you can create disk images in .nrg format. The recording scheme is the same: add the necessary files to the compilation field and select Image Recorder as the destination drive. Specify the folder to save the image and get new image.nrg format.

Nothing complicated

Burning discs with Nero is as simple as free program, called Nero Free or Nero StartSmart Essentials. This program is distributed free of charge and allows you to perform only basic operations of burning and copying discs. The program does not take up much disk space and does not load the system.

Even a beginner can install Nero Free and understand how to use Nero. Moreover, all the functionality of Nero Free is concentrated in the left column of the interface in the form of buttons for writing data and copying discs.

First there was a fire...

In July 64 AD, ten of the fourteen quarters of Ancient Rome were burning with bright flames. According to legend, the initiator of the Great Fire - this is how history remembers this tragedy - was the emperor and ruler of Rome Nero himself. Knowing no compassion and brutally killing his mother, aunt, teacher and closest associates, he set fire to Rome in order to admire the extraordinary beauty of the city blazing with a fiery glow from the high Maecenas Tower. The history of Ancient Rome has always been famous for its “good” people...

Program Nero Burning Rom is easy to learn but powerful program for burning CDs. This program has a convenient user interface, the language of which can be easily changed, including into Russian. This makes the program attractive to those people who do not know English language or others foreign languages. The program's capabilities are such that they allow you to burn CDs of all currently existing standards, including audio and video CDs. Both files on your computer and other CDs can serve as sources of information for burning discs. When using this program, the risk of spoiling the workpiece is minimal, since the program provides various means, increasing the reliability of recording. The presence of an assistant makes using this program even more convenient. Additional feature programs are built-in tools for encoding audio files into popular format MRZ.

Introducing Nero Burning Rom

Before you start recording various disks using this program, it is recommended to familiarize yourself with its working window and the basic principles of operation.

Working window of the program and basic principles of operation

When burning CDs using Nero Burning Rom, the concept of a project is used. A project is a disk recording task that includes a description of the disk format, a list of files to be written, and some service information. First you create new project, then issue the write command this project. It is possible to save the project for later modification. The remaining terms used in the program do not differ from the generally accepted ones. These terms were described in the first part of our book.

Select the Nero Burning Rom command in the main Windows menu, and the program will be launched. By default, the program is configured to use the assistant, and its first dialog will appear on the screen. We won't use it now, so click the Close Wizard button. After this, a window will appear asking you to select the type of disk to be created. Features of disc creation various types We'll look at this later, but for now, click the New button to close the dialog. Now it will appear on the screen working window programs.

The working window of the program contains standard components Windows windows, such as the window title and menu. Below the menu is a toolbar consisting of buttons indicating various frequently performed actions during operation. The toolbar is divided into several groups.

The main group is located on the left side of the panel and is used for working with projects. Using the tools in this group, you can open, save, or create a new project. To perform various operations within the framework of the edited project, tools are provided in large group located in the center of the toolbar. They are used to perform operations with the buffer Windows Exchange, as well as all operations related to recording discs and selecting devices for recording. And finally, everything related to tips and help is combined into separate group located on the right side of the toolbar. As with other programs running under Windows control, all commands associated with toolbar buttons can also be accessed by selecting the appropriate menu command.

IN work area Two windows can be opened - the project window and the explorer window. The first of the windows is intended for combining various files into the project, which will then be written to disk. The second window allows you to select files for the project being created on various drives on your computer. Working with it is no different from working with Windows Explorer. At the bottom of the working window there is a status bar and tips, as well as a volume scale, which clearly shows the volume of the created project and allows you to control it so as not to exceed the maximum volume that can be burned to a CD.

For normal operation The program requires a CD burner on your computer. If there is no such device, the program will create virtual device records. Using this device, you can create a disk image as a file and burn it later.

The disc creation process begins with the formation of a project. This indicates the type of disk being created, as well as various parameters, if they are necessary. After defining the project parameters, the project and explorer windows appear in the working window. As you work on a project, you must transfer the files you want to burn to disk from the Explorer window to the project window. You can create your own in the project window own folders your choice, and add or remove files. Working at this stage is very similar to working with Windows Explorer. The volume scale located at the bottom of the working window shows the current volume occupied by the project on the intended disk. In this case, you should monitor the volume scale and do not exceed the maximum amount of information that can be written to the disk.

After creating the project, you need to configure the recording parameters. The main parameters are speed and recording method. You can also run a recording simulation to evaluate your computer's speed when recording a given project. After necessary settings the command to start recording is given, and the information is transferred to the CD. This process does not require any additional actions. You will be notified when the CD has been burned.

Obtaining and installing Russian language support

First of all, you need to obtain a file with the program components necessary for Russification. This file is called neXXXXru.exe. All necessary components are located in one self-extracting archive. Since there are different versions programs, each of them needs its own Russification file. The file name indicates the program version using four digits XXXX. For example, the file ne5038ru.exe is a Russification file for the program version 5.0.3.8.

This file can be downloaded from the Internet from the Nero Burning Rom support page. This page has the address www.ahead.de. By following the links on this page, you should be taken to a page for downloading new versions of the program and updates. Next, you select the desired file and download it to your computer. After the Russification file has been rewritten, you need to run it. An unpacking dialog will appear.

You need to specify the folder where the archive contents will be unpacked. The default folder for temporary files, used by Windows, but you can change the folder name to anything else. This can be done by entering a name in the input field or clicking the Browse button. In the latter case, a selection dialog will open. After selecting the folder, click the Unzip button to begin unzipping. Once unpacking is complete, a dialog will appear informing you about this.

Click the OK button of this dialog to close it. Next, click the Close button to close the unzip dialog.

The resulting archive contains several files that must be manually copied to the folder where the program is located. To do this, you can use, for example, the Explorer program. Launch the Explorer program and find in the left window of this program the folder where you unpacked the contents of the archive.

Click on this folder to open its contents in the right window. Now in the left window you need to find the folder where Nero Burning Rom is installed. Moving through the folder tree, find in the left window Program folder Files\Ahead. Please note that there are two more folders in it: Nero and CoverEditor. We must place some of the files in the first folder, and some in the second. Select two files named Neurorus but with different icons and move them to the Nero folder. Then move the file named Crussian to the CoverEditor folder. After you have moved the files to required folders, you can close the Explorer program window.

Despite the fact that the program interface will change, you will not find Russian hints. This happens because the program developers do not supply a hint file in Russian. You can use tips in English.

You can now launch Nero Burning Rom. Please note that the program interface has become Russian automatically.

Changing the interface language while working

If you follow the above procedure for Russifying the program while it is running, the interface language will not change. To change the language while the program is running, use the setup procedure.

First, you should close all auxiliary program windows. Press the X button on the right upper corners project windows and explorer windows to close them. Next, select the File>Preferences menu command to display the dialog of the same name. Click on the Language tab to go to the corresponding tab.

This tab presents in list form various languages, which can be selected as the interface language. By selecting the appropriate element in the list, you can change the interface language. At the very beginning, there is only one element in this list - English, but after performing the language support installation described above, the Russian element will appear in this list. Select Russian from this list.

If you wish, you can change the font for the names of shortcuts, menu commands, and so on. For these purposes, you should click the Select Font button, but we will not do this. Click OK on the settings dialog to close it. Now you can start creating discs, and the easiest way to do this is to use the assistant.

Using Nero Assistant

The assistant greatly simplifies the process of creating CDs, taking care of all the subtleties of setting parameters. All you have to do is answer questions to tell the program what you want to do. First of all, to use the assistant, you need to enable it. To do this, select the Help menu command. In the secondary menu that appears, make sure that the checkbox next to the Use Nero Wizard command is selected. If necessary, select this checkbox by selecting this command from the secondary menu.

To start working with the assistant, you need to create a new project. Click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>New. The first assistant dialog will appear.

This dialog offers you a choice: either create a new disk or copy an existing one. The choice is made by setting the switch. By answering this and the following questions, you can easily prepare your project for burning to CD.

Creating a new disk with files

Set the switch for the first Nero Assistant dialog to Compile a New CD, and then click the Next button to continue. The following assistant dialog will appear, specifying which disk you want to create.

Since we want to create a disk with files, we should set the switch to the Data CD position. After that, click the Next button to continue. The following wizard dialog will appear, asking you to specify whether you want to create a new disk, or continue an existing disk.

To create a new disk, set the dialog switch to Compile a New Data-CD and click Next to continue. The final assistant dialog at this stage will appear. It gives you detailed instructions on what to do next. Click the Finish button to close this dialog. After closing last dialogue Nero Assistant will display the Explorer and Project windows in the work area. Now you need to find in the Explorer window the folder with the files that need to be burned to disk.

Once the folder with the files is found, drag the required files from the Explorer window to the project window. Moving is done by dragging the icons with the mouse. Move your mouse pointer to the desired file in the Explorer window, click and hold left button mice. Move your mouse pointer into the project window, positioning it over the contents of the folder where you want to place the file. Release the mouse button and the selected file will be added to the project. Remember to keep an eye on the volume scale and do not exceed the maximum.

Remember that according to the standard, six hundred and fifty megabytes of information can be stored on a recordable or rewritable CD. IN Lately blanks have appeared on which seven hundred or more megabytes of information can be recorded.

After moving all the necessary files, click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>Burn CD (File>Write CD). The assistant dialog will appear again, prompting you to set recording parameters.

Using the switch in this dialog, you can select the type of entry. Test recording allows you to check the operation of the program by recording a disc, without actually writing information to the workpiece. This is to ensure that the computer can transfer data from the required speed during the entire recording process. Most CD burners support this mode. In this case, the computer believes that the data is being recorded and all actions occur, as in a real recording. Data is transferred to the device at the required speed, but the laser does not turn on and no actual recording occurs. Beginner users are recommended to use this mode of operation of the program.

Real recording or burning (Burn) turns on the laser in the recording device and transfers information to the workpiece. The intermediate position of the switch indicates that it is necessary to record in two stages. First, a test recording is carried out, and if everything is fine, then burning follows. It is best to choose this mode, but if you have already burned a lot of discs and are confident in the capabilities of your equipment, you can choose simple burning. This will cut your recording time in half.

Next, you should select the recording speed. This is done by selecting an element in the drop-down list of the same name. This list contains all the speeds at which your device can record information. Modern devices for recording CDs, they can record information at different speeds. The writing speed, like the reading speed of CDs, is measured in multiples of a single speed, corresponding to 150 kilobytes per second. However, no one burns CDs at speed 1 these days.

One of the most big problems When recording to CDs, it is an interruption in the data flow during the recording of a disc or session. The data flow must not be interrupted under any circumstances. If at some point it is necessary to write data, but it is not yet available for some reason, then the matrix will be damaged. The speed at which a computer can transfer data from a disk to a recording device depends on many factors. One of the reasons that reduces this speed is the load on the computer with other operations. To somehow stabilize the data flow, CD burners have a built-in buffer large capacity, but this doesn’t always help.

Modern CD burners support special technology protection against interruption of data flow, but not all devices are equipped with this technology.

The higher the recording speed, the faster the process. At speed two, burning a full CD takes about thirty-six minutes, and at speed eight, it takes nine minutes. Please note that high recording speed is not always the best solution. At high speed recording, the storage reliability of the recorded data may be lower. Although often recorded on an eighth or more high speed allows you to create high-quality discs. It should also be taken into account that various workpieces are designed for different speed records. This is usually indicated on the cover of the envelope with the blank. Speeds below fourth are practically never used. If you are using high speeds, check with test recording that your equipment can transfer data to the CD burner at the required speed.

If you select the Create Image checkbox, burning will not be performed, but a CD image file will be created. You can then burn a disc from this image. More information about creating and using disk images will be discussed below.

After everything required parameters installed, click the Burn button. A dialog will appear to select the recording device. In some cases this dialog does not appear, but required device is selected automatically. This dialog displays all CD burning devices found by the program. If this dialog appears on your screen, select the desired device from the list and click OK to close the dialog and begin burning the disc.

If at this point there is no blank blank inserted into the recording device, the recording device tray will automatically open and a dialog will appear indicating that a blank needs to be inserted.

In this case, place the workpiece on the tray and push it in. The dialog will automatically close and the recording process will begin. If a disc has already been inserted into the device before starting recording, a dialog about inserting a disc will not appear, but a dialog will immediately appear illustrating the recording process. This dialog shows various information about the recording process. You can find out the amount of information being recorded, the name of the current operation, the state of the buffer, both the program and the device itself. Using a progress indicator, the degree of completion of the operation is clearly demonstrated. Once the CD burning operation is complete, a dialog will appear indicating that everything was successful.

Click OK to close the dialog. Now you should click the Cancel button, which will appear in the recording process dialog. This is necessary in order not to save a report on the past recording. The dialog will be closed and you can start creating a new project.

If errors occur during burning that cause the process to stop, you will be informed about this. Errors most often occur when the computer is unable to deliver information at the required speed. In this case, take another workpiece and record again at a lower speed.

Adding information to an existing file drive

There is often a need to save information on recordable discs in small portions, for example, when creating backups important data. Typically, such portions are less than the full capacity of the disk and when the usual way free place, remaining after recording a piece of information would be lost.

To solve this problem, use the method of recording to disk using multiple sessions. Each new piece of information is recorded using a new session in addition to the previous one. In this case, you can replace old files with new ones. Naturally, old files are not deleted; the mention of them is simply erased from the table of contents of the disk. Such discs are called multi-session or multi-session.

Please remember that when creating multi-session discs, each session requires extra space on disk, so the total amount of information that fits on a multi-session disk is less than when using a single session. Some outdated devices CD readers cannot work with multisession discs. By default, when you use the Nero assistant and create a new disk with files, it is created as a multi-session disk. Let's look at how to add new files to such a disk.

Click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>New. The first assistant dialog will appear. Set the switch for the first Nero Assistant dialog to Compile a New CD, then click Next to continue. In the next dialog, set the switch to the Data CD position. After that, click the Next button again to continue working.

The following wizard dialog will appear, in which select the radio button to Continue an Existing Data-CD. Click the Next button to continue. The final assistant dialog at this stage will appear. In this dialogue you are given detailed instructions on what to do next.

Click the Finish button to close this dialog. After the assistant completes its work at this stage, a dialog will appear to select a session to which a new session with your files will be added.

If any information was previously recorded on the disc, a list of tracks will appear in the dialog window. Typically, the last track is automatically selected to continue recording, and we do not recommend changing this. If the last track is not selected, select it by clicking on it. Once the track is selected, click OK to close the track selection dialog.

Remember that the program remembers the disk being created the name of the folder from which the information was recorded. If the source folder exists when adding information to disk, files from it will automatically be added to the project. This feature is convenient to use for regularly saving archives or creating backup copies of information.

If there are folders from which a previous recording to the disk was made, the program will check them for the presence of new or changed files. If new files are found, a dialog will appear indicating this.

Click OK to close the dialog. After this, the project and explorer windows will appear in the work area. Move the desired files from the Explorer window to the Project window. When you have finished moving the files, click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>Burn CD (File>

This way you can add your files to the disk and track changes in versions of the recorded files. This can be done at any time as long as there is free space on the disk.

Creating an Audio CD from pre-prepared material

Music CDs, or Audio CDs, are a special class of compact discs. Their peculiarity is that such discs can be played not only on a computer, but also on household music centers. Let's look at how to create such disks.

Click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>New. The first assistant dialog will appear. Set the switch for the first Nero Assistant dialog to Compile a New CD, then click Next to continue. In the next dialog, set the switch to Audio CD. Click Next again to continue. The final assistant dialog at this stage will appear. In this dialogue you are given detailed instructions on what to do next. Click the Finish button to close this dialog.

After this, the project and explorer windows will appear in the work area. Typically, the source material for recording a music CD is music files, having the extension wav. Move the desired files from the Explorer window to the Project window. If the file of this type cannot be recorded on music disc, the program will warn you about this in a special dialog.

Files in MP3 format can be used as source material. The program itself converts them into required format when writing to disk.

When moving tracks into the project window, remember to keep an eye on the volume scale and do not exceed the limits. Remember that according to the standard, seventy-four minutes can fit on a recordable or rewritable CD audio information. Recently, blanks have appeared on which you can record eighty or even ninety minutes. When you have finished moving the files, click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>Burn CD (File>Write CD). An assistant dialog will appear asking you to set recording parameters.

If necessary, change the speed and other recording parameters, and then click the Burn button. The recording process will begin, accompanied by the appearance of the corresponding dialogue. When the recording is complete, a dialog will appear indicating that the recording is complete. Click OK to close the dialog. Now you should click the Cancel button, which will appear in the recording process dialog.

You can now play the recorded disc on various devices. It should be remembered that some household music centers do not play recorded CDs reliably. You may need to change the stock you are using or burn discs at a slower speed.

Copying an existing disc

Sometimes it becomes necessary to make a copy already existing disk. You can rewrite its contents to HDD, and then write to a new workpiece. However, there is an easier way to copy disks, implemented in the program. Moreover, you can copy discs of any format. Let's look at how this can be done in the Nero Burning Rom program.

Click the button on the toolbar or select the menu command File>New. The first assistant dialog will appear. Set the switch for the first Nero Assistant dialog to Copy CD and click Next to continue. An assistant dialog will appear prompting you to select copy options.

This dialog is intended for selecting the device from which copying will be made. If you only have one CD-ROM reader installed on your computer, it will appear in this list. If you have multiple CD drives installed, you can select any one of them. Additionally, if you have multiple devices that can read CDs, the Fast Copy checkbox becomes available. If you check this box, copying will occur from the device with the original to the disc writer directly, bypassing the computer's hard drive. If you have one device, then such an operation is impossible and copying will occur in two stages.
