We select an alternative to Nero (InfraRecorder). Download Russian version of InfraRecorder

Lately I have been looking for programs for working with disks (burning, copying, images, etc.). I would like to find something easier and freer than Nero. I haven’t had this monster for a long time, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to tolerate its presence even on other people’s computers :)

Of course... there is no truth to be told, the vast majority of free programs do not have the functionality that the package from Ahead Software AG can provide. But you have to look. Have to search!!!

So, contender No. 1 is .

I wonder why this program is so little known? , the best free disc burning program Consider CDBurnerXP. This may be true, but I'm used to testing software a little before recommending it to anyone. But I was not able to use the latest version of CDBurnerXP. After launch, a window with an error message appeared and the program collapsed. InfraRecorder works stably and surprises with its capabilities.

This is a free disk management solution CD And DVD. This program provides a wide range of powerful tools, has a nice and simple interface, and integrates well into Windows Explorer.

The program was designed and created by Christian Kindal (GNU General Public License (GPL)) for the Google Summer of Code programming competition in 2006. Christian Kindal himself ( Christian Kindahl) is also known for its other program - the archiver TUGZip.

Main properties and capabilities of InfraRecorder:

Creating your own projects with data, audio, video and mixed files and then recording them onto physical disks (or to create images).
- Recording support double layer DVD.
- Erasing rewriteable (RW) discs four different ways.
- Burning disc images(ISO and BIN/CUE)
- Making copies of discs on the fly and using a temporary disk image.
- Import data from a multisession disk with the ability to add new data and subsequent recording.
- Closing a session (writing special information to disk to prevent subsequent recording).
- Scanning SCSI/IDE buses to detect installed devices and collect information about them.
- Displaying information about the disk.
- Import audio, video and data into files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso).

Included with the main InfraRecorder program is a module - a quick task selection panel, slightly reminiscent (in principle of operation) of the Nero Express panel:

Perhaps this will help users who are accustomed to Nero to quickly get used to “in a new place.”

As you may have already noticed from the screenshots, InfraRecorder has Russian and Ukrainian translations of interfaces, which of course greatly simplifies the work for those users who do not yet know enough English :)

The top block is occupied by traditional buttons for all programs: file, edit, actions, view, options, help. Just below are buttons for quick access to main functions. This is where information is written to disk and deleted. You can also create a virtual image of digital media, make a temporary copy of the image, or view information about the current process. The largest block of icons is located at the bottom of the window. With their help, you have access to tools for creating different types of discs. From here you can also start the copying process.

You can start working with this application by clicking the “File” button. A list of functions will appear, from which you need to select “create a project”. Thus, the user will create a layout of his image on the hard drive, having previously named the folder in accordance with his own preferences. Afterwards, a menu with settings for recording to physical media or creating an image will appear on the screen. Having completed all preparations, the user confirms the start of the procedure by clicking on the “Yes” button. Or, after saving the project, press the “Actions” button and select the required operation.
