What is Word Art? Word Art Objects

To create artistic graphics such as headings, a word processor Microsoft Word 2000 has a special software tool WordArt. It can be accessed in two ways: either through the WordArt toolbar ( View –> Toolbars –> WordArt), or using the button Add WordArt on the toolbar Drawing.

Graphics inserted into Text Document using WordArt, can be printed along with the document on a printing device, can be displayed as part of an electronic document distributed in Microsoft Word format, and can be displayed on Web pages.

To insert WordArt into a document, follow these steps:

Create a document based on a template Ordinary.

Enter document text.

Team View –> Toolbars –> WordArt Enable display of the WordArt toolbar.

Click the button Add WordArt– launch will occur WordArt Wizards.

In the window WordArt Collection choose the desired design style.

In the dialog box Changing WordArt Text select the desired size, style and enter the text of the title to be created.

After clicking the button OK the created object will be inserted into the document.

Further control of the shape and location of the created object is carried out by the toolbar controls WordArt. In order to make changes to an object, just double-click on it with the mouse, after which the toolbar will be activated WordArt.

Entering formulas

The need for a means to enter mathematical expressions into a text document is typical for scientific and technical documentation. IN Microsoft program Word is such a tool is the formula editor Microsoft Equation 3.0. It allows you to create formula objects and insert them into a text document. If necessary, the inserted object can be edited directly in the document field.

To launch the formula editor, use the command Insert –> Object. In the dialog box that opens Inserting an object you should select the item Microsoft Equation 3.0– the control panel will open Formula, presented in Fig. 4.37. In this case, the menu bar word processor is replaced by the formula editor menu bar (Fig. 4.38).

Before using the formula editor, you must configure it. The setup consists of assigning fonts to the various elements included in the formulas. This is done in the dialog box Styles opened by the command Style –> Define.

This setting is mandatory - the formula editor will not work without it, but you only need to do it once.

The formula editor toolbar contains two rows of buttons. The buttons on the bottom row create unique templates containing fields for entering characters. So, for example, to enter a common fraction, you should select the appropriate template, which has two fields: numerator and denominator. Filling out these fields can be done either from the keyboard or using controls top line. Transitions between fields are performed using the cursor keys.

Entering and editing formulas is completed by pressing the key ESC or closing the formula editor panel. You can also left-click anywhere in a document field outside the formula entry area. The entered formula is automatically inserted into the text as an object. Then it can be moved to any other place in the document via the clipboard ( CTRL+X- cut out; CTRL+V- insert). To edit a formula directly in the document, just double-click on it. This automatically opens the formula editor window.

Formula Editor Features:

Formula editor Microsoft Equation 3.0 represents separate component, therefore, when installing a word processor, you must specifically indicate the need to connect it.

When working with the formula editor, you should strive for maximum completeness of the entered expressions. So, for example, an expression (formula) may contain components that can be entered without using the formula editor, but for ease of use and ease of further editing, you should enter the entire formula in the formula editor, without using other means.

The key does not work in the formula editor SPACE, since the necessary spacing between characters is created automatically. However, if the need to enter spaces does arise, they can be entered using the button Spaces and dots Formula toolbars

Working with Elements

After entering the desired text the “Format” tab will appear on the program toolbar, with which you can edit the text style and add desired effects. You can also set the frame for the text using the available colors and effects through the Shape Styles section.

It is possible to fill the background of the text, adjust the thickness of the outline and add the effects “Shadow”, “Reflection”, etc. By clicking on the small arrow button at the bottom right of the block, you can open a window for the work additional settings and setting other display options. So, you can change the shape and frame of the entire object by clicking on the “Shape” item and selecting the most appropriate option.

In the “WordArt Styles” section, you can add the desired design for the letters themselves. Having configured and required parameters its style, you can edit the result using standard features, available to change regular non-WordArt text. Removal

To delete a WordArt object, left-click on its frame, and then click Del keyboards(Delete). After completing the procedure, the unnecessary block will be deleted and you can add text with new parameters at any time if you wish.

How to work with WordArt

WordArt app is not independent program and starts with a button Add WordArt. When you select this command, a list of possible objects appears on the screen (see illustration).

Then you need to enter the text of the inscription, selecting the font, its size and character style. We get curly text.

If you need to set the fill and outline color, use the drawing toolbar buttons Fill Color and Line Color.

If you need to change the shadow settings, use the Shadow button on the drawing toolbar.

If you need to change volume parameters, use the Volume button on the drawing toolbar.

It is possible to display the toolbar using the command View - Toolbars - WordArt(see illustration).
