Video on the topic

It is known that the desktop interface in OS Windows is an open large folder. The user gets used to this and over time completely loses sight of this circumstance. However, it is still necessary to remember this. Especially when, after turning on the computer, instead of the usual desktop, you see only the wallpaper, while all the shortcuts and the panel with the Start button have disappeared without a trace.

Monitor with beautiful wallpaper looks good in itself, but for practical work hardly suitable. To restore your usual desktop pattern, try restarting your computer. There is hope that this is a temporary problem and after a reboot everything will fall into place. But as practice shows, reboot rarely helps in such a situation.

Since the desktop is a large folder, it is logical to assume that Explorer is responsible for its functioning and design, and more precisely a file Explorer.exe. Unsuccessful loading of this particular file results in the absence of the usual shortcuts and panels. But the problem is that Explorer.exe itself rarely takes liberties, unless it is one that, once on the computer, penetrates the system registry. Such a virus either damages Explorer.exe or completely removes it from the registry entries. For example, almost all so-called SMS blockers, viruses that require payment via SMS to unlock your computer, work on a similar principle. Of course, no messages will help, but the money in your account will be significantly less.

In order to get rid of the consequences of virus activity on your computer and restore your desktop, you need to gain access to the Windows OS registry editor. Press the Alt+Ctrl+Del buttons. Launch the system task manager, in which you need to find the “file” item. In the submenu that opens, select the line “ New task", then click on the inscription regedid.

In the Windows OS registry editor that opens, find and delete the keys that were placed here by malware. They usually refer to the Image file execution options parameter and look something like this:
Hkey_Local_Machine/Software…. Image File Execution Options / explorer.exe
Hkey_Local_Machine/Software…. Image File Execution Options / iexplorer.exe

Pay attention to the “shell” parameter, that is, Shell. Here the virus could also leave its traces. This registry setting should only be equal to the explorer.exe value. Any other values must be removed. Now restart your computer and enjoy the familiar appearance of the icons and panels that have returned to your desktop.

Shortcuts located on the desktop table, are intended to receive quick access To the necessary folders and applications. If the user frequently logs into the network, it is easier to withdraw icon Internet to the desktop, rather than accessing the folder where it was located during installation each time.

Today, to find out what time it is, people most often look at the phone screen, rather than at the dial of a real watch.

I went through many different beautiful Russian clock widgets for the Android desktop screen: weather and clocks, alarms, timers, digital, analog, Slavic and so on.

For Android, you can install simple screen additions, as well as advanced applications, thanks to which you will always be “on time”.

In the Play Market you can choose a wide variety of applications - from simple “timers” to advanced stylistic alarm clocks.

Only the choice should be based on your desires - if you are only interested in watches, then downloading applications of several megabytes does not make sense.

Below you will find my selection - best widget watch. I tested it on Android 4.4, Android 5.1 and Android 6.0.

The most popular clock widgets for Android

The Clocksync clock widget can synchronize with an atomic clock.

In the settings you can also enable automatic update time after a certain time interval.

“Retro Clock Widget”, as the name suggests, is an imitation of a vintage clock. They really lack transitions between numbers, but they are beautiful and offer the ability to display time and date.

Interesting widgets for displaying the current time, which first of all look beautiful on the desktop screen - Digi, Simple Clock Widget and Minimalistic Text: Widgets.

The first widget "Digi" is simply digital clock- no more, no less.

The second “Simple Clock Widget” is a little unusual - current time and the date presents an interesting shape on a transparent background.

The latest “Minimalistic Text: Widgets” won the hearts of many users with its uniqueness - instead of numbers or a clock face, the current time and date are presented in text form.

You can set the direction of the font and text display - it has been installed by more than one million users.

What if none of the clock widgets meet your expectations? Maybe it's better to make your own widget?

If you study a little (the information is free on the Internet), you can create your own clock, weather widget, and even get information about the status of your phone’s battery.

All of this can be adjusted to "any angle" - font size, color, shades and transparency can be adjusted to your liking. At the same time, you will be sure that the size will fit beautifully on your desktop.

Of course, almost no one will create it on their own. Therefore, below I provide two of my favorite clock widgets - you can download them immediately on this page, of course for free.

Beautiful big clock widget for Android

Installing a beautiful clock widget is not difficult and free, but after experimenting, I chose Timely.

It is an alarm program, clock, stopwatch and timer in one. Moreover, it has a minimalist, simple and clear interface.

The application itself consists of three screens. The first one has alarms that you can easily manage and set for the appropriate days of the week. Of course, you can also choose personal melody signal.

On the second screen classic watch. Their appearance can be changed: style and background. The last screen provides access to the stopwatch and timer.

You can easily switch between these functions using vertical gestures. There is also wonderful animation built in.

Switching between timer and stopwatch looks amazing. As if that weren't enough, every change of numbers on the watch display looks crazy.

Never before has a watch app been so eye-catching. It may sound funny, but using a timer has never been more fun.

The applet can be downloaded for free from Google Play or here below. Only free version does not have all the personalization options.

If you want to unlock additional themes, additional alarm ringtones or disable ads you will have to pay.

There is another way to unlock the pro version - recommend the program to others so that they install it using a special link.

This way you will unlock all functions professional version. This is a very smart move. People who don't use pirated software, but don’t want to spend money, they can use this option.

Best digital clock widget Chronus

Another, available to all Android owners (or at least versions 4.1 and later) Chronus.

At first glance, Chronus is another standard widget hours. In fact, the application can do much more, and this is one of the most attractive elements.

Not only is the program a highly customizable widget, but it also provides weather information and can display calendar event information.

Thus, you get three functions, and at the same time it looks beautiful and has extensive settings.

The user has the choice of two types of clocks - digital and analog. Visually, they largely resemble native widgets for Android.

The digital version can decide whether you want to condense hours or minutes, and also determine their color. You can also display information about scheduled signals (and, of course, customize it).

The weather forecast function is based on the Yahoo service. You will have options such as update interval, selection of units and locations, as well as two charts - color or monochrome.

Nothing stands in your way and change the font color used to inform you about the current weather.

Information about upcoming events in the calendar is also customizable. Here you can select the categories from which data should be collected and determine which items will be displayed.

In addition, the application can highlight upcoming events, when approaching the deadline. Just as in the two previous cases, you can specify the font color.

The widget works very well. Its appearance may not be particularly original, but it fits well into the Android interface.

If you're looking for a solution that can replace the other three widgets while still allowing you to create an advanced configuration, then Chronus is definitely worth a look.

It is encouraging that the application will be constantly developed and thus will not lose its functionality. Good luck.
