Instructions for updating software on Supra Smart TVs

Important! Pay special attention to the reliability of the TV connection to the power supply. Even short-term interruptions in the power supply during software updates can lead to irreversible malfunction of the TV.
Reinstalling the system software will lead to the loss of all user data and pre-installed programs in the Android TV module. After the software update is completed, you will have to reinstall and configure the programs you need.

Prepare a blank SD card, preferably with a capacity of 2 to 4 gigabytes. Format it with the FAT-32 file system. Make sure there are no recorded files or directories on the card. Open the file with the software archive with the new firmware in an archiver program or in a file manager.

In the opened archive you should see 3 files and one subdirectory:

Copy all these files and directory to the root of the SD card, maintaining the directory structure:

Turn on the TV into operating mode and select the smart module as the input source. Wait for the Android operating system to load and turn off the TV using the power button on the remote control or on the TV body. Disconnect the TV from the power supply using the mechanical power switch on the TV body or by removing the power cord from the power outlet. Insert the SD card with the new software into the SD card slot located on the back of the TV ( Please note, the exact configuration of the Android module may differ from that shown in the photo):

Take a ballpoint pen, a sharp pencil, a match, a straightened paper clip, or any similar object of small diameter and press it on the Android module reset button located behind the round hole near the Ethernet socket:

While continuing to hold the reset button pressed, turn on the power of the TV and 10...20 seconds after the TV goes into standby mode, turn it on with the power button on the remote control or on the TV body. Wait for the “little green man” Android or another similar picture to appear on the TV screen, symbolizing a software update:

After the software update picture appears on the TV screen, you can release the reset button and wait for the operating system update to complete. During the software update, a software update progress indicator will be displayed on the TV screen:

Once the update is complete, the TV will reboot on its own.

After rebooting the TV, go to the operating system settings (Settings), open the “Backup & Reset” item and select the “Factory data reset” mode.

On the settings page that opens, click on the “Reset device” button.
Confirm the reset by clicking the "Erase everything" button in the newly opened confirmation window:

The TV will reset all Android settings to factory defaults and reboot automatically.
This completes the software update process.
You can use the new version of the Android operating system.

Errors during the update.

The software update process is entirely dependent on the integrity of the data read from the SD card during the device update process.

Therefore, to avoid possible failures:

· Try to use a verified SD card for updating.

· Whenever possible, use a full-size SD card. Try to avoid using a micro-SD card with an adapter.

· The total volume of update files on the SD card does not exceed 200 MB. Therefore, do not try to use large capacity cards, on which the likelihood of file read errors may be much lower.
On the other hand, old memory cards of small capacity may not be compatible with the device. Therefore, the optimal size of an SD card intended for software updates is usually from 2 GB to 4 GB.

· If the software update fails, a window similar to the one below will appear on your screen.

In this case, repeat the entire software update procedure from the beginning.

· If the software update fails again, use another SD card and repeat the procedure again.

Attention! Never turn off the power to the TV until the software update process is complete. Otherwise, the functionality of the Android module may be impaired and you will have to contact a service center to restore it.

Updating the software (firmware) of your equipment is carried out only in cases where any problems arise, or the update will add useful functions to the device. Flashing devices unnecessarily is not recommended, because... During the firmware update process, there is a possibility of equipment failure. If you are not sure that you can handle updating the firmware on your own, we recommend contacting the appropriate service center and qualified specialists.

As a result of faulty memory chips or network failures, the program located in the chip itself may be damaged. To update or replace the memory contents (flashing), it is necessary to have a memory dump from a specific TV model. In this section, you can download the files we collected (TV dumps of EEPROM and FLASH memory). Before updating, it is highly recommended to save the old dump in case of incompatibility between software versions.

How to flash a Supra TV

In modern Supra TVs, firmware updates occur via the USB interface. In older models, this is done using a programmer via the SPI interface (for FLASH), or via the I2C bus (for EEPROM).

Keep in mind that despite the general similarity, each brand has its own firmware features. Inside many archives there is a detailed description of a specific model. If you have additional questions, ask them in our forum, where the main visitors are repair specialists.
