Settings for mail programs to use an IMAP server. For other email programs and mobile phone email programs

Today I want to configure my email client to Samsung smartphone. And I want to configure it for postal service freemail.ukr.net. I'll start in the most usual way - I'll just go to the help of this service. On wiki.ukr.net you can see the settings we need. They look like this:

1) Before accepting letters from the mailbox with your mail program, enable access to the mailbox for mail programs. This means that you need to go to the settings via the web interface - POP3 and SMTP settings, and check the box next to "enable POP3 and SMTP".

2) Necessary settings:

incoming message server (POP3): pop3.ukr.net

normal connection (unprotected)

outgoing message server (SMTP): smtp.ukr.net

connection type - secure SSL or TSL.

Are you impressed? Incomprehensible SMTP ports And so on. These are the ports where mail server waiting for connection. One port for incoming messages (those messages you receive from recipients) and one for outgoing messages (those messages you send to recipients). SSL and TSL are cryptographic protocols for encrypting connections. If such a structure is difficult to understand, just imagine a mailbox with two boxes in it. You pick up letters from one, and put them in the other. And two postmen arrive. Should they know which box to put in and which to take out? So imagine that the number 110 is drawn on one box, and 465 on the other. In general, I won’t go too deep into the theory. Let's move on to the settings. Click on the familiar envelope icon on your smartphone. The application will open. We enter the settings and go to the account settings. go to the "options" tab.

In the parameters, enter the account name (any name is possible), name, for example, mailing address elka(at)ukr.net, means the name is elka. Then, sequentially enter the server parameters (the “incoming mail” and “outgoing mail” tabs).

In the tabs we do it as in the pictures. In the "username" field, enter the full address of the mailbox, and in the password field, enter the password for the mailbox. The SMTP server must be set to SSL security type. Other settings concern appearance and signals. You can change them as you like. You can connect and use mail. Advice. Set the "Delete email from server" option to "never".

I'll add pictures with the settings mail client for smartphone with Android 6.

Security concept @UKR.NET prohibits transfer of user data (including login and password), as well as any information contained in the user’s electronic mailbox, to third parties (including third party services), except in cases expressly provided current legislation Ukraine, as specified in paragraphs. 11 and 17 FREEMAIL Email Agreements.
