Cipher1070 is a handheld contact image scanner. Installing the scanner in COM port mode and setting the prefix

You purchased a barcode scanner, opened it, unpacked it and connected it to your PC or laptop. We launched the program, went into the sales document and scanned our product. The program found the product, added its sale, but the search bar for the product was not cleared. This means that the scanner is configured in USB-HID, that is, it works like a regular keyboard. At first glance, this is a trifle, but it will cause you a lot of inconvenience. For comfortable work in the OPSURT program, you need to configure the scanner to operate in virtual mode.

Step-by-step instructions for setting up the scanner:

  1. We connect the barcode scanner from the PC.
  2. It is defined as standard device input or USB/HID keyboard. To check you can open any text editor, for example, NOTEBOOK. And try scanning your product. As a result, you should see barcode numbers in the notepad. If everything is so, then the scanner is detected in the system. Let's move on to the next point.
  3. Necessary . you need to print the downloaded file
  4. We scan the barcode from the printed file from the very last section “Selecting the USB-VC interface type (CDC driver CipherLab)” from top to bottom (here you enter the programming mode, select the emulate COM connection type and save the settings)
  5. Disconnect the scanner from the PC. We wait 5-10 seconds
  6. Install the driver ().
  7. Connecting the scanner to the PC
  8. The scanner is installed as a "com port" device and will be assigned a com port number, for example com4(you need to remember the port number). If this does not happen, and a window appears asking you to install the driver, then you should select manual installation driver and specify the path to the driver file.

Now the scanner is configured and you can proceed to setting it up in the OPSURT program

  1. Restart the OPSURT program (if it was running)
  2. Enter the barcode scanner settings by clicking on the button with the image of a barcode scanner
  3. The barcode scanner settings window should appear. Here, check the “Device in use” checkbox and select the COM port used by the device (the one you remembered earlier)
IN Lately It is observed that after setting up, the scanner beeps, but the barcode does not enter the program. There is a fix on the OPSURT program website, but if this does not help, then you need to do the following. We repeat the steps according to the instructions, only with these changes: Point 4.
  • We scan the barcode from the printed file from the very last section “Selecting the USB-VC interface type (SILICONLABS)” from top to bottom (here you enter the programming mode, select the emulate COM connection type and save the settings)
  • Point 6.
  • Install the driver ().
  • The remaining points are according to the instructions. If you have any problems with connection and setup, you can contact us ( site torg-kkm ru) for advice or help in setting up.

    Connecting CipherLab to 1C usually does not cause any difficulties. The equipment of this company is characterized by stable operation, its own drivers are well tested. CipherLab is a world leader in manufacturing commercial equipment. The brand's assortment includes products for scanning, reading and automating business processes in trade.

    Algorithm of actions

    All equipment of this brand is connected to the system in accordance with a certain algorithm. This method works not only for products of this brand, but also for many others.

    The sequence is as follows:

    1. The connection interface is determined. This is a keyboard break or port;
    2. If you decide to connect via a port, it may be busy or unavailable, so you should take care of its availability and functionality. Sometimes they buy special cards. They require drivers. When the port is working normally, you can move on to the next step;
    3. Installing the CipherLab hardware driver. Always included disk is coming with driver. If it is lost or the disk does not work, the driver can be downloaded from the company’s official website;
    4. Once the driver is installed, it should be tested. You need to go to the “Start” menu, then to “All Programs”, and there will be “Hardware Test”. It may be that the Test is hidden in the CipherLab folder. Open it and try to do something. Here you can configure the basic parameters of the device;
    5. Now you can move on to working with 1C. Open the program and in the “Tools” or “Administration” menu, find external processing. The commercial equipment driver is always configured through external processing. Set the driver operating parameters that were found through the use of the Program Test;
    6. Check if the CipherLab device works correctly in 1C.

    Installing the scanner in keyboard break mode

    In this mode, the scanner does not need to install a driver. He can work right away. You just need to configure a prefix for it to work in 1C. Typically, in typical program configurations, the barcode scanner starts when you press the F7 key.

    When operating in this mode, it is not recognized by the system as a barcode reader. It emulates a keyboard, that is, it gives the same signals. The keyboard does not require drivers, so the scanner works without them when turned on this way.

    This method has features:

      The connection is the simplest possible;

      In operation, the keyboard break mode is not entirely convenient, since you need to monitor whether the keyboard layout is correct and whether the cursor is in the right place, otherwise the prefix will not work and the code will not be recognized;

      Sometimes characters are lost, so the scanner does not fully recognize the code.

    If the letters change case when read, and this may be important, then in the parameters you should enable the mode of character-by-character transmission rather than batch transmission.

    Installing the scanner in COM port mode and setting the prefix

    It's more convenient and quick method. The recognized code is transmitted to the program regardless of what keyboard layout is on or what form element is selected. The setup is quite simple: you need to install the driver and specify the port in the settings.

    It is useful to set the prefix for any connection, since sometimes the given parameters it can be recognized as the first character - this is fraught with errors in the barcode. To select a prefix in 1C, you should open the instructions for the CipherLab device and see what value is indicated there.

    Programming of the scanner itself is also used, for this you will need instructions. The sequence of codes is indicated there. They must be read in order to change device settings.

    Attention! For this scanner model 1070, in addition to standard Win drivers for a virtual Com port, CipherLabs also offers alternative virtual Com port drivers own production.
    They have a name CDC drivers (CipherLab Driver Com).
    This version of CDC drivers is officially certified by Microsoft, and will be included in the future as part of the driver package for new service packs of various operating systems.
    Fundamental differences these drivers from standard drivers SiliconLabs does not.

    Attention! Please note that when setting up the 1070 scanner for USB-VC operating mode, what is in the instructions There are 2 options for setting barcodes for working with a virtual Com port.
    1st option - for subsequent installation of CDC drivers, 2nd option for working with SiliconLabs drivers.

    Attention! If drivers are used SilLabs version 6.0 and higher, you should update the scanner software with the latest versions, which are posted on our website, otherwise the drivers will not be installed and Error 10 will appear in the driver properties.
    If it is difficult for you to flash the firmware on your own, use an older driver
    version 5.4.29 .
    All of the above is true only for those cases when the drivers are not installed and Error 10 appears Most scanners sold since the end of 2011- already flashed with new versions and do not need mandatory update firmware for USB interface.

    Attention! After purchasing a scanner, before you start using it, you need to initially configure the scanner for your interface type. Download the instruction file, where you read sequentially from top to bottom 4 installation barcodes.
    If interface option 307 USB2.0 HID is used, the settings for the interface must be read keyboard break (KW). If you use a 308 USB2.0 VirtualCom interface, you need to read the settings for the RS232 interface.

    Attention! To check the functionality of a scanner with an RS232 or USB VirtulCom interface, after configuring it (see above), run standard program HyperTerminal in WinXP OS or download it from our website if you are using Windows7.
    Set the standard speed on your PC and in this program to 9600, try reading the barcode.
    The digital value of the read barcode will be displayed on the monitor screen.
    After making sure that the scanner correctly reads and transmits data to the PC, only then proceed to the 1C settings for working together with the scanner.

    Attention! For collaboration with 1C the USB VirtualCom interface type is required.
    Be careful when choosing the interface type when ordering a product!

    Attention! If when operating the scanner with an interface USB VirtualCom from 1CYour 1C freezes- necessaryuse DLL library ScanOposwhichcreated in our company "Scancode". For 1C7.7/8.0/8.1 - ScanOpos v8.0.8.20 is used. For version 1C8.2, ScancodeScanopos v8.0.8.22 is used. Other DLL versions- do not work with these scanners. You should put this library in the default folder where the original version of ScanOpos is located and register it if necessary.
    Attention! If your scanner was purchased with an RS232 interface type, please note that after initializing it to work with this interface type, by default the scanner sets the data transfer rate to the PC to 115200 baud. For correct operation it is required in the "Device Manager", in the settings COM port your computer, set the same speed - 115200. Otherwise, instead of correct barcode data, you will receive a random set of special characters.

    Attention! To have the most latest opportunities scanners, which are described in the latest English versions user manuals, which are available for download on our website, and also have fewer software defects - you should update the firmware versions to the most latest versions. If for some reason the firmware is not available on our website, upon request to the technical support email address, we will send a ready-made set for updating. Or contact our Service Center to update your scanner software.
