jetAudio HD Music Player

Mp3, .ogg, .flac, . m4a, .mpc, .tta, .wv, .ape, .mod, .spx, .opus, .wma*, .mid**, etc.). Besides

JetAudio is a player with wide support for formats (.wav, .mp3, .ogg, .flac, .m4a, .mpc, .tta, .wv, .ape, .mod, .spx, .wma, .mid, etc.) . In addition to the presence of an equalizer, it involves adjusting sound and effects.

The desktop version of JetAudio takes top positions in application download ratings, the mobile version is also popular (more than 5 million downloads). JetAudio is successful partly because it allows you to fine-tune the sound (as far as the phone's hardware allows). First of all, we mean a 20-band graphic equalizer; it is available in the paid version of the player. The equalizer comes with other audio add-ons: Balance, Fade, Fade, Pitch Correction, X-Wide, Reverb, and Gain. low frequencies(X-Bass). You can also adjust the speed during playback.

The player interface is well laid out and looks great in portrait and landscape mode. Thanks to the convenient sidebar, you can quickly navigate through your library: artists, albums, genres, SD directories or internal phone memory. There is a tiled viewing mode, gray and light design themes. The style of tiles in lists, the display of covers for compositions, albums, etc. can be configured separately.

At the same time, the JetAudio interface is not only pleasing to the eye, but also informative: opposite the line with the album name, the number of tracks, year and other data is indicated. You can edit tags and add a cover from the Internet. Obviously, a lot of attention is paid to metadata.

The playback control buttons are small, but quite convenient. It will be convenient to connect widgets for management - 14 various formats as an alternative to standard ones (jetAudio Plus). Gestures and switching by shaking the device are supported.

[+] wide support for audio formats

Fusion music player - free audio player, the idea of which is “no barriers between the user and the music.” There are no advertisements in the application; the player itself is made in the style of Ice Cream Sandwich and is not complicated by excessive functionality.

A 12-band equalizer with presets is provided to customize the sound. There are effects (bass boost and 3D surround for headphones) and visualization - a somewhat dubious feature on a mobile device.

Fusion music player offers very simple library organization. The music collection is grouped by albums, artists, a separate tab provides a list of all compositions, without any division.

Navigating through the media library is optimal in landscape mode: in this case, viewing artists and albums is more convenient. If there is accompanying metadata in the composition, covers can be downloaded from the Internet. There are three design themes, all of them have a dark tint.

Other navigation features include shaking playback control (if there is an accelerometer), and there are widgets for the lock screen and notification panel.

Despite the fact that the player controls do not cause any particular complaints, main screen Fusion needs some tidying up: at the moment the buttons additional functions located chaotically. For example, when searching for an equalizer, you have to look for it among the social functions.

The built-in editor will be useful for editing tags, but its capabilities are noticeably limited compared to any of the participants in the review. In this case, you can edit only existing fields, without adding new ones, and set a composition rating.

Regarding the online functions of Fusion, there are options for publishing, last.fm scrobbling, integration with Youtube (playing video for the current song). If you wish, you can post information about the composition on social services Facebook and Twitter. The link may include a cover or a link to the song.

The Shoutcast module is designed for listening to online radio. There are approximately 7,400 radio stations available. Even here, attention is paid to the visual component: covers are displayed for the tracks being listened to.

Some of the functions (besides those listed) can be called unnecessary: for example, online search, rating, or trimming a composition - it will be useful, perhaps, only for ringtone lovers.

Rocket Music Player supports standard Android formats audio and video. The Premium edition also includes ALAC, APE, Musepack, flac, True Audio, wav, WavePack and wma. The advanced version of the player includes downloading covers, editing tags, batch operations and other options that are not available in the free version.

The Rocket Music Player interface is stylish and minimalistic, made primarily in dark colors. There are 5 themes to choose from and a separate one for the lock screen widget.

Similar to the Cubed player (see the previous part of the review), a cube is used to switch songs in a list or random order; It rotates only on the horizontal axis. As experience suggests, this is not the optimal navigation option, but there are no alternative options.

To customize the sound, Rocket Music Player provides a 5-band equalizer. However, although the description indicates that it is available for Android platforms 2.3 and higher, in fact it was blocked. Other options include fading and audio focus. When you unlock Rocket Player, you also have access to a crossfader (for smooth transitions between songs), gain, and an equalizer extended to 10 bands - individual for different genres, artists and playlists.

By going to the library, you can familiarize yourself with its contents. The usual division into songs, artists, albums, playlists, genres, etc. is used here. The video tab is separately available - as already noted, the player reproduces well-known system formats. It’s easy to rescan the library by including or excluding certain formats during the search, manually adding files and folders, and exporting playlists. The free version of Rocket Music Player does not allow you to download album covers from the Internet, but you can add an image from a local source.

PlayerPro Music Player is a music player with expanded functionality due to add-ons downloaded from Google Play. Similar to Rocket Music Player, the player supports video playback. The trial version of PlayerPro is available for 10 days.

PlayerPro defaults to a recognizable dark interface and, remarkably, is not flat, as in most cases. More than 20 themes are available as downloadable add-ons. The necessary widgets are present. In addition, there is a set of widgets for the home screen.

The interface is relatively static and lacks interactivity in places: in particular, the transition between compositions when scrolling through the cover is not obvious. At the same time, you can use gestures and shaking to navigate.

In the sound effects section of the application there is a 5-band equalizer, presets with ambient effects (with the ability to create custom ones). Other options: bass boost, stereo widening, reverb, crossfader. Dolby and SRS sound effects are also available for HTC devices.

Through the settings section, it makes sense to download the free PlayerPro DSP pack add-on, which activates a 10-band equalizer and additional audio add-ons.

In the PlayerPro Music Player library, you can view music by albums, artists, genres, playlists, folders and other sections. There are dynamic playlists: recently added, listened to, based on ratings. From auxiliary functions media libraries - search, sort, search for duplicates.

The player integrates a fairly functional tag editor (for MP3, OGG, FLAC, WMA, WAV, M4A, MP4 formats) with the ability to individually and batch edit: title, album, artist, track, year, genre, comment. You can manage covers (download from the Internet or add from a local source), search for song lyrics using song id3 tags.

DeaDBeeF is a well-known player for GNU/Linux, BSD, OpenSolaris and other UNIX systems. The mobile version is catching up desktop application(having an indirect relation to it) and provides a wide range of listening tools.

A wide range of formats are supported: mp3, ogg, aac/mp4, alac/mp4, flac, ape, wv, wav, tta, mpc, sid, mod, s3m, NSF, files with sampling rates up to 192 kHz, including 24-bit and multichannel. Back in 2010, DeaDBeeF implemented lossless support, but, as you know, in Android 3.1 and higher, some lossless formats are supported by default.

One way or another, when you first launch it, you are prompted to download and install a package with free plugins - DeaDBeeF Free Plugins Pack. It is necessary to play all declared formats. DeaDBeeF can also “pick up” video files and play them in a playlist along with audio.

Music to be played must be placed independently; for this, the source is indicated and the files are added to the listening list. Unfortunately, there is no library, it is only supposed to create playlists. Actually, the adding process also takes time - despite the fact that searching for audio files through the navigator is inconvenient.

The sound is adjusted using a 10-band equalizer, there are presets (with the ability to create your own). Additional options- volume equalization (replay gain), peak scale (preventing overload), “seamless” playback (for a more authentic sound of songs, without pauses) and audio focus.

DeaDBeeF's control buttons are a bit small, which may be inconvenient for some. The widget in the notification panel does not contain control buttons, and gestures are not supported. As a result, you have to be distracted once again by switching tracks, returning to the main screen of the player.

[+] support for lossless formats
[+] video playback
[+] seamless playback
[−] inconvenient playback controls
[−] lack of a media library and tag editor

Meridian plays standard video and audio formats, including lossless.

To customize the sound, you can use a 5-band equalizer; there are also a dozen presets in the corresponding section (saving custom settings is not available).

The Meridian media library is convenient because you can use folders of various nesting levels when adding and scanning. Easily create playlists including both audio and video. There is a tag editor.

Now about the disadvantages. The library, on the one hand, contains the necessary sections, but is inconvenient in its structure. The video tab may seem superfluous, and in “Music” it is difficult to navigate by the inscriptions (at least speaking about the Russian localization of the application). Extra folders can be disabled in the settings, but this does not save from other interface features.

Meridian's design is quite outdated, in some cases it is overloaded with icons, and “heavy” colors complicate perception (for example, when editing tags). There are no themes available. For the lock widget, you can choose one of two styles, but the widget in the notification panel is practically useless because it does not contain control buttons.

From additional tools- removal of duplicate files, genres, etc. The PRO version allows you to download covers and synchronize ratings.

[+] support lossless formats and video
[+] gesture support
[−] intrusive advertising
[−] outdated and inflexible interface

Conclusion

JetAudio, perhaps one of the best music players for Android. The program is based on - fine tuning sound and convenient organization of the media library. The interface contributes to this to a large extent: it adapts perfectly to the user’s needs.

The main advantage of the player Fusion- simple functionality with an emphasis on online capabilities. Some of them, however, may seem useless (visualization, online search, etc.). In general, this player requires active user attention: watching videos, receiving information and publishing on social networks.

A functional player with wide support for audio (including lossless) and video formats, a well-thought-out interface and easy navigation on the media library. Main disadvantage- inconvenient playback screen.

It offers basic functionality on a paid basis, while add-ons are available free of charge and in sufficient quantities - which will be useful for adapting the player to user needs.

Player DeaDBeeF interesting as a minimalistic player with the ability to customize sound and a sufficient set of appropriate options. Will appeal to lossless supporters and owners of old firmware. There are serious shortcomings in terms of ergonomics: there is no media library, you cannot quickly manage playlists.

Although it is positioned as a functional and customizable player (which is true), the implementation and awkward interface hinder the user.

Android devices from various manufacturers already have their own music players. However, as far as I know, these standard players do not always provide the necessary functionality or do not meet user requirements for high-quality music listening. Also they don't always lose necessary files or formats. After some testing by users, a few of the best ones were selected.

1. PlayerPro

PlayerPro Music Player is a powerfully featured music and video player for Android. This application includes a wide variety of various functions, such as:

  • various options for playing music
  • ability to read album contents and reviews about the artist
  • ability to download songs
  • changing the user interface and player skin
  • change playlist viewing style
  • 5 band graphic equalizer
  • displaying the status of songs, including rating, number of plays of a song, time of last play and addition to the list
  • creating smart playlists
  • various lock screen screensavers and desktop widgets

In addition, PlayerPro supports the following music formats: mp3, ogg, flac, wma, wav, m4a, mp4.

This app works great and provides good quality sound, which can be adjusted using the equalizer. But it has one significant drawback: unfortunately, it will have to be reinstalled every 5 days (this is the operating period trial version) or purchase a full license.

2.PowerAMP

PowerAMP is one of the most popular music players for Android users. It plays a very wide range of music formats such as: mp3, mp4/m4a (including alac), ogg, wma, flac, wav, ape, wv and tta. It also provides the following useful functions:

  • 10-band optimized graphic equalizer
  • smooth transition between tracks (something that is not found in other such players)
  • blocking screensavers and widgets
  • tag editor
  • visualizer
  • various additional settings

Many users prefer this player because large quantity different settings, user interface piled high with them plus the sound quality is excellent.

But there is also a big disadvantage - the free version is only valid for 15 days.

3.Winamp

Winamp is the oldest music app, which has been playing music files on personal computers since the 90s, is now available for Android. In addition to standard music player features such as artist information, playlist support, locking screensaver, and desktop widgets, this app supports the following additional features:

  • playing a music stream from Winamp for desktop
  • multi-language interface
  • wireless and synchronization via data cable with Winamp for desktop PC

This is a free application with a large set of additional functions, especially if you are already using its analogue on your personal computer. However, if you use another player on your computer, then many of these functions will be simply useless.

4.MixZing

MixZing has all the features of other such music players, including a graphic equalizer, tag editor, lock screensaver and widgets, and playlist support. Additionally, this app records the music you listen to and offers you relevant recommendations. Unfortunately, MixZing does not have a queue or play duration feature, which limits its usefulness.

5. Google Music

Google Music is a completely different player from all previous ones. He has everything standard features, as in other players, and can play most files and music formats. However, it is a streaming music service that uses music that is pre-loaded on Google Music Beta. So, this app lacks a lot of additional features that other similar apps have, but if you store your music on Google Music servers and have constant access to it, then Google Music is ideal for downloading songs for your Android . Of course, we must not forget that streaming audio requires good internet channel (3G or wifi).

Conclusion.

All of the above music players have their own advantages and disadvantages, some of them are paid, but have good functionality, others require constant good wireless Internet channel, which in turn is not a cheap pleasure for us and is not always practical. Therefore, the golden mean among all this is the familiar Winamp. But this is my opinion, and yours may be completely different, write, comment...

Hi all!

Today I would like to talk about media players for Android. "How is it?" - you ask. Firstly, similar review on Habré seemed incomplete to us, and secondly, we recently made a video about the Poweramp player, which we really liked. Therefore, we asked ourselves: are there many decent players for Android?

By the way, here is the video itself:

I invite all android owners and their sympathizers to the cat...

So, our first number is Poweramp (Android 2.1+, $3.99). A complete listing of its capabilities would take a couple of pages, so I’ll limit myself to only the main ones:

  • Formats: MP3, MP4/M4A (including lossless ALAC), FLAC, OGG, WAV, TTA, WMA and APE/WV
  • Built-in 10-band graphic equalizer
  • Adjusting Tone, Bass/Treble and Pre-Amp
  • Creating/editing presets, tags and playlists
  • Metadata.cue file support
  • Excellent sound quality, quick library search, 8 interface languages (including Russian), low power consumption, flexible settings, built-in coffee maker, automatic download album covers and much more.
Usability deserves special praise - the player supports beautiful themes designs and widgets on the desktop, interface elements are arranged very logically, and music is sorted by artists, albums, genres, playlists, and even a playback queue created by yourself. In addition, folders can be viewed in two modes - hierarchically or as a list.

Actually, the only negative that we found is that it is paid. The trial version of the player works fully for two weeks, and then starts asking for money. However, it is worth the money. No wonder Poweramp often appears in the Top 10 applications on Google Play.
