Popular VPN extensions for Mozilla

Hello, friends! If you are faced with a situation where your favorite page on the Internet is blocked - either by a provider by government decision, or by a system administrator at work, do not worry, now we will look at several VPN extensions for the Mozilla Firefox browser that will help in this case.

VPN is a virtual private network. If you enable VPN in your browser, that is, you have one of the corresponding add-ons running, then the connection to the site will not occur directly, but through a third-party server located in another country. Your Internet IP address will also be changed.

For example, select the country Canada in the extension. After this, you will connect to the server of this country, your IP will be changed and the site you open will determine your current location as if you were in Canada.

The extension for Mozilla friGate, which allows you to enable VPN, is free and does not require registration. Find it in the list of available browsers via search and click “Add to Firefox” next to it. Then restart your browser to ensure it is fully installed.

The friGate icon will appear to the right of the address bar. It's quite easy to use. Open a page to which access is blocked. Then click on the friGate icon and select “site NOT from the list” - “add site to list”.

This way, you can add to the list the necessary pages that you want to access via VPN. The add-on also has a generated list of popular addresses to which access is blocked. When you click on any of them, friGate will be turned on automatically.

After that, click on the extension icon again and select “enable.” proxy for sites from the list." Now reload the browser page - click either the circular arrow to the right of the address bar, or F5. The page should be accessible.

That is, add a site to the list and access to it will appear, because the extension will automatically work when you go to any address from the list. If necessary, you can delete any site you added to the list - to do this, go to its page and select the corresponding item in the extension menu.

Through friGate you can only connect to servers in the UK or France. You can also see the server load of the selected country at the moment. If pages load slowly, try changing your country.

AnonymoX is a completely free extension with unlimited traffic that allows you to change the IP address you are using on the Internet. There is no need to register; the interface, although in English, is very clear.

The AnonymoX icon in Mozilla looks like a blue cross. Next to it it is shown through which country’s server you accessed this site, and what your current IP address is. For each site you can set the necessary settings.

Open the blocked page and click on the add-on icon. Next, from the top drop-down list, select the site that you opened. There should be a checkmark in the “Active” field. This means that the extension is working and VPN is enabled in the browser. In the “Identities” list, you can select any of the available servers. The settings you make will only apply to this page.

If desired, you can enable the removal of cookies. To do this, in the “Cookies” field, select either “Delete from this website” - delete only for this site, or “Delete all” - delete all cookies.

You can configure the add-on for each site separately, or you can leave the default settings for the open page. If AnonymoX is not needed on any site, then in the extension menu in the top field, select the desired address from the list and uncheck the box next to “Active”.

Browsec VPN

Another great extension for Mozilla for visiting blocked pages on the Internet and changing IP is Browsec VPN. Find it in the list and install it in your browser.

It's very easy to use. There are no menus or settings in it. Just go to the blocked site and click on the icon of the Browsec VPN extension itself at the top, to the right of the address bar. If it is gray, then the add-on is turned off.

After this, reload the page (press F5) and connect to the selected site through a third-party server; The IP address you use on the network will be changed; and you will get access to the desired page. If Browsec is running in the browser, its icon will be colored - a green shield on a blue square.

The user is only required to control his work on certain sites. If you need to enable VPN in Mozila for an open page, click on the extension icon to enable it. If you open a page where there is no such need, turn off Browsec VPN.

Hotspot Shield

In the list of extensions the full name is Hotspot Shield free VPN Proxy. Clear interface, no need to register. It’s enough to simply control which sites to enable VPN and which not.

Enable it in your browser by clicking on the icon in the upper right corner. To do this, drag the slider to the right. After this, the icon will turn green. The server you connect to will be selected automatically. If you want, you can select it yourself - click on the flag of the desired country from the proposed list.

If you need to turn off the VPN, click on the extension icon and drag the slider to the left. The disabled Hotspot Shield extension icon is red.
