How to remove Kometa browser, Amigo and Unity Web Player

Today we will talk about a fairly common problem - installing unwanted software on your laptop or computer, or rather, how to get rid of these programs.

Recently, the Internet has become very, very dirty - in the truest sense of the word. Everywhere you go, there are a lot of incomprehensible advertisements, everywhere you go, some incomprehensible tabs open, pop-up windows appear, but the worst thing is that recently on the Internet there have been more and more cases of automatic installation of malicious programs, even if you have good anti-virus protection installed!

Someone downloads cheats and mods for World of Tanks, someone downloads games, and someone downloads music or math workbooks, but in the end, instead of what they wanted, they get a headache in the form of side panels from Comet that came from nowhere ", dubious browsers "Amigo", "Kometa" and "Search on the Internet". In parallel with these programs on the computer, you can often see all kinds of “missiles”, the “PC Performer” program and other supposed performance boosters, but perhaps the most harmful are Chinese anti-virus protections, which are not so easy to remove.

Earlier, on my blog, I already talked and showed about one of these programs -, but now a bunch of its analogues have appeared, among which may be:

  • Rising Antivirus
  • Kingsoft
All of these programs, along with Kometa, Amigo and Unity Web Player, are installed on the computer automatically and, most likely, unconsciously.

In this article I will tell and show how to remove Kometa browser, how to remove Amigo browser and Unity Web Player from your computer once and for all. And in the next two articles we will talk about how to remove Rising Antivirus and – two Chinese anti-virus protections. All 3 materials are closely related, so I highly recommend familiarizing yourself with each of them.

And so, in order to remove unnecessary browsers “Comet” and “Amigo”, click the “Start” button on your computer or laptop and select “”.

In the control panel we find the line “”.

If suddenly your menu looks different, pay attention to the viewing option in the upper right part; perhaps you have selected “Small icons” or “Large icons”, but it should be “Category”. Or, as an option, look for the “Programs and Features” item - in general it’s the same thing.

After this, you will see a list with all the programs installed on your computer. Find in this list the program you want to remove - in our case it is Comet browser, Amigo browser, sidebar - Comet and application Unity Web Player. In some cases, the “Automatic Software Update Service” from the publisher “Mail.ru” may still be installed on the computer, which should also be removed.

Now right-click, for example on “Amigo” and select “Change-Delete”. When deleting these unfortunate browsers, the message “Are you sure you want to remove Kometa or Amigo” may appear? In this window, be sure to check the box next to “Also delete browsing data.” You can set any of the remaining ones on your computer as the default browser - of course, this is at your discretion.

In more detail, so don’t be lazy - watch my video on how to remove these programs from your computer.

After cleaning my computer from unwanted programs and browsers, I strongly I recommend cleaning the system partition using the CCleaner program and reboot.

This rubbish is probably already over, and in the next post I will talk about
