Mouse settings via Windows 10 Settings

There are not many ways to adjust mouse sensitivity on Windows 10. The first method is to use the capabilities of the “Options” section. The setting in this case will be as follows:

  • Click “Start” and select “Settings”. A new window will open. Select the “Devices” section.
  • From the menu on the left, select “Mouse and Touchpad”. Here you will need to set several settings. The first is to set the left button to the main one.

  • If you set the scroll wheel to “Several lines at a time”, the slider below will become active. We can set the number of scrollable lines. It is better to set a small amount so that the content on the site does not slip through. We also recommend setting scrolling for inactive windows.

  • The next point only applies to the touchpad. By clicking on the drop-down menu, you can select a delay for the touchpad. In this case, we chose “Medium”, although the delay can be completely turned off.

This completes setting up the mouse through the “Settings” section on Windows 10.

If your mouse does not work as expected, you can configure its operation through the “Control Panel”. To do this, do the following:

  • Right-click on the “Start” button and select “Control Panel”.

  • A new window will open. We will adjust mouse sensitivity through the “Mouse” section.

  • Go to the “Mouse Button” tab. Several options are given here. If you check the “Change button assignments” checkbox, the left mouse button will be responsible for the actions of the right one and vice versa.

  • Next we move on to the speed of double-clicking. Drag the slider to the desired position to adjust the parameter.

  • In the same window there will be a “Sticky mouse” option. However, we do not recommend touching this parameter.
  • Go to the “Index” tab. Select the type of mouse icon.

  • The most important tab is “Pointer Options,” which stores settings for sharpness and mouse cursor speed. Here we check the box “Enable enhanced mouse pointer precision” and drag the slider to the desired position.
