With the advent mobile communications people have even less personal freedom. And really being in touch all the time and knowing that they can reach you at any moment creates a feeling of slight discomfort. With the advent of Skype, freedom has become even less. And in some situations you simply want to limit your social circle to one, or maximum two, subscribers. For this purpose, Skype provides special function or stealth mode. What does it mean? How to enable invisibility in Skype and is it possible to determine that someone is using these settings and is online. Let's find out!

What statuses are there in Skype and what is it for?

In the Skype program itself, for the convenience of users, network statuses, which indicate to a possible interlocutor the user’s desire and readiness to communicate, and very simply and quickly. The program also automatically tracks latest information about subscribers. This allows you to provide comprehensive information about those users who are in your notebook on Skype. Now let's tell you in more detail.

Availability of a subscriber in the network. In recent Skype versions The following statuses are set: “Online”, “Away”, “Do Not Disturb”, “Invisible” and “Offline”. Each of these statuses has its own functions and purpose. But the most popular is "Invisible". This status allows you to do everything necessary functions and even receive text messages, but at the same time your subscribers will see that you are not online.

Time last login on Skype. Another useful feature. To determine exactly when the subscriber you need was on Skype, simply hover your mouse over his status circle. The program automatically tracks and updates this information.

Connection type. Some users use for communication mobile phone. Skype program It has useful function recognizing this. Usually, in this case, an additional icon with a drawn smartphone will appear near the subscriber. To call such a subscriber you will need.

All these features can significantly increase the convenience of communication on Skype. Moreover, if there is a need to limit the possibility of communication, you can set the status of invisible. Moreover, this will block only you, but leave all other functions.

Carefully! There is a Skype invisibility check. If a user suspects that you are on Skype and wants to find out for sure, all they need to do is send you a text message. If it was sent, it means you are online and simply using “cover.” Therefore, if you need to completely isolate yourself from intrusive users, it is better to choose a different mode or completely exit Skype.

How to set the status to invisible?

So, we have established what invisible means on Skype. If you need to use this particular status, you should follow these steps:

  1. Find Skype icon on function panel on the left side at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Click on it right key mice.
  3. In the window that appears, select the network status tab.
  4. There, click on “Invisible”.

I would like to remind readers that this status does not limit the ability to correspond and receive text messages, but here functionality Messages related to receiving calls will not be available to your subscribers. You, on the other hand, can call anyone from your contact list if necessary. It is also worth considering that you can easily track whether you are actually on Skype, so if you need to take a break from intrusive calls, it is better to close the program altogether.

Battle.net now allows you to hide your status and be invisible so your friends don't know what game you're playing or what you're doing. You can completely hide your presence. How to enable it?

Communication on Battle.net includes all Blizzard games, so we can stay in touch with friends from other Blizzard games. Each of your friends can see what game we're currently playing, what our character name is, where we are in the level we're at in the world, or what mode we're playing. He can also write to us even if he doesn't have this game or is currently playing something else .

For many people this level of integration is definitely too much . For years players have been asking for invisible mode, which would allow you to enable the game client without appearing in the Battle.net service, like approachable person. After all, everyone sometimes wants to play alone, in peace and quiet, without receiving private messages or intrusive invitations. This took several years, but fortunately it is now possible. Blizzard has finally added a mode that is invisible to the Blizzard Battle.net client.

Stealth mode in Battle.net

Invisible mode allows you to hide our status from all your friends on Battle.net. Allows you to enable the Battle.net Launcher client without announcing your presence to all and sundry, and allows you to play all Blizzard games in stealth mode.

When you enable this mode, your friends will not see that you are currently logged in, nor the game we are playing in this moment. For them, we are simply unavailable on the list, just like we had the Battle.net client delisted and they were taken offline.

However, you must remember that stealth mode only works with Battle.net friends added via Real ID, simply hiding our status from them. That's all. Stealth mode no longer contains communication elements unique to a given game, so it may work differently depending on what we are playing. This is especially true for World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft has its own built-in communication system, based not only on Battle.net, but also on character names. If someone added us to their friends in World of Warcraft via Real ID (by e-mail), yes, we will be invisible to it because it is a Battle.net related feature and we are hidden there. However, if someone added us to their friends by entering our hero's name, then of course inside the game we will see that we are available, because the invisible mode no longer interacts - this is an internal communication function of a particular game.

The same applies to the guilds we belong to in World of Warcraft - the mode invisible in Battle.net does not hide us in the list of people in the guild, because those two things have nothing mutual friend with a friend. Invisible mode hides our Battle.net status against friends added using Real ID. It doesn't physically hide us in games against people who, for example in World of Warcraft, belong to the same guild or stand next to us in the city.

It must be said, however, that in other Blizzard games this is much less than in World of Warcraft. The new titles are fully integrated with Battle.net communications, so setting up stealth mode will almost completely hide us in other games, unless one of your friends accidentally lands in the same lobby or engages us as an opponent in Hearthstone.

How to enable stealth mode in Battle.net?

You can switch to invisible mode at any time using the status window. All you have to do is click on your username on the right top corner Blizzard Battle.net Launcher window, and then select from the drop-down list "Invisible".

Your presence will be hidden from your Battle.net friends. Now your friends won't see what you're playing. To them, you will be listed as unavailable.

You can enter stealth mode even before entering the launcher. All you have to do is click the gear icon on the login screen.

In the drop-down list, you will find options that allow you to select which status should be set immediately after logging in. This could be the last status you had before logging out or just invisible status. Check the box "Invisible".

Now when you log in to the Battle.net Launcher client, you will notice that your status is automatically set to invisible. You can change your status at any time by clicking on your name and choosing your visibility level.
