Voice commands available only for Russian language. With their help, you can open websites in your browser, run programs on your computer, open folders and files, and turn off your computer. For Yandex.Strka to execute a voice command:

Say the phrase "Listen, Yandex", "O'Key, Yandex" or "Hello, Yandex". Wait for the Row activation sound.
Say a random phrase or command:
- If you say an arbitrary phrase, String will interpret it as a search request in Yandex.
- If you say a command, String will recognize it and execute it. Examples of supported commands:
  - Open the site.
  - Open file/folder.
  - Go to sleep mode.
  - To restart a computer.
  - Turn off computer.

To find information on the Internet, say a query, for example "height of Elbrus". Yandex.Stroke will open a request in the browser that is used on the computer by default.

To open a site, say its name, for example “VKontakte” or "open VKontakte". Yandex.Stroke will open the website www.vk.com in the browser.

If String doesn't recognize the spoken name of a site, it will open it in the browser as a search query.

To open a program, say its name, such as "open Excel." Yandex.String will open the named program.

If the program cannot be found, String will offer a list of files, folders and programs on the computer whose name contains the spoken name.

To open a folder, say its name, for example "Open the Documents folder". Yandex.Stroke will open the Documents folder.

If the folder cannot be found, String will offer a list of files, folders and programs on the computer whose name contains the spoken name.

Say "turn off the computer". Yandex.Stroke will begin the shutdown process. If you change your mind, press the Esc key.

Check microphone

Click on the microphone icon on the right side of Yandex.String and say any phrase. If at the moment of speaking the yellow circle in the program window blinks, the microphone is configured correctly. If the circle is not blinking, check the microphone operation:

Open the Windows Control Panel.
In chapter Equipment and sound click the Sound link.
In the dialog box that opens, go to the Recording tab.
Check the microphone:
- If the microphone is not in the list of devices, check that it is included in the correct jack.
- If the microphone is in the list of devices, but is not used by default, click on it right click mouse and select the command Use as default.
- If the microphone is in the list of devices and is used by default, check that it is working.
