Therefore, when there is a need to send data to someone, we try to do it in small parts. There are a variety of options for how you can separate files of various formats. This is what we will talk about today. So how to combine files into one file?

Text and picture

This problem is much easier. If you need to combine files into one file, and they are text files, you will need any editor - Notepad, WordPad, Microsoft Word. In order to do this, you need to open both files in different windows, and then do the following.

In the first document, place the cursor anywhere in the text.
Press "Ctrl+A". You will see all the text highlighted.
Press "Ctrl+C". This action will copy the information.
Now go to the second window and place the pointer at the end of the file.
Press "Ctrl+V". The copied text will be pasted.
Now click “Save as...” and create a new file, which will be a combination of the previous two.

Everything is a little more complicated. The higher the quality of the image, the more complex programs should be used to combine images. Of course, if you don’t care about the quality of the result, then you can simply use Paint. It will look something like this.

Let's try to analyze this special case of union. There are two ways to carry out this operation.

Online. Yes, there are services that allow files. You simply upload documents online and then download the result. Unfortunately, this method is not always effective, since the files in this format are quite large, and if at least one of them contains about 50 pages, the process may take a long time.
Offline. All you need to do is download and install the full version of Adobe Acrobat. And follow the following instructions:

first, on the main panel, click “Create”;
then "Combine PDF into one file";
add the necessary files from your computer and sort them;
click "Combine";
That’s it, you can save the finished file on your PC.

Well, or not really viruses. The fact is that there are applications that allow you to “glue” files of different formats. For example, you can write a program and save it in .exe format, and then paste it into a graphics file. Then the person who opens the picture will automatically launch your utility. MergeFil.es is not without its flaws, but overall it is a useful working tool. We were unable to find information on limiting the number of files and their size. Apparently, everything fits within the framework of ordinary everyday needs. But the list of supported formats consists of PDF, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Images, Html, txt.

The minimalistic design of the service immediately prompts you to upload files for merging. But you can only select them from one single folder. Not entirely convenient, but there are no options yet.

After waiting for the files to be uploaded to the server, you will see a list of files being merged and their size in table form. At this stage, you have the opportunity to set the order of files in the general document. Yes, there is also a switch for compressing the output file, but we were not able to get it to actually work.

Pros and cons

The most popular function of MergeFil.es seems to be the creation of a PDF file. We fed the service the most typical files in everyday use: text documents Word and Notepad, a picture and the same PDF. The result was not very satisfying. The creation of the shared file went quickly, but the image turned out to be cropped, and the Cyrillic alphabet from Notepad was displayed as gibberish.

When we repeated the experiment, we changed the image orientation from landscape to portrait, and also assigned DOC as the output format. The image has not been cropped. The PDF file was recognized as text, and as a result became editable using Word.

conclusions

Of course, MergeFil.es is still a long way from working its magic. But for quickly gluing documents related to the same topic, the service is quite suitable. You do not need to install specialized software; everything is done online. The downloaded data is temporarily located in the service’s cloud storage, is gradually deleted and is not transferred into the wrong hands.

Free program for combining several files in FB2 format into one. The program was successfully tested on the Microsoft Windows Vista OS and unsuccessfully on the Microsoft Windows XP OS (we still did not see the result). The program can be downloaded from http://lib.rus.ec/software/mergeFB 2.exe.

There is no need to sort the files before starting the program, since the program will do it itself. To create an FB2 file merge, select only one source file. Pick up this file with the mouse and drop it on the program icon (Fig. 282). Never select multiple source files. Firstly, this is completely useless, since ALL FB2 files in this folder will be merged. Secondly, when selecting more than 20 files, we constantly received an error message, but not directly that this could not be done, but in the form of an incomprehensible message, albeit in Russian. Confirm the creation of the merged file (if the PC security system prompts you). After this, the program icon appears in the system tray and the countdown begins. Merging files is quite fast.

The merged file is saved as output.fb2. The figure (Fig. 283) shows the title page of the merged file: the Antologie cover and table of contents are created. The table of contents is collected based on the titles of FB 2 books, combined into one. The FB2 book title is always on the first line of the book.

When several books are merged into one, the structure of all component books changes: covers and annotations are removed and replaced with their own, except for the annotation, but the user can create his own annotation using XML tags. The Anthology drawing is used as the cover, and a table of contents is created from the incoming books as the annotation (do not forget to change the English template text to the Russian word Table of Contents or Contents). If you still need to use cover designs, then use the AlReader reading program, with which you can also edit the entire structure of the FB2 book. Instead of a cover tag, use an image tag. The picture tag must appear before or within the book text. To learn XML tags, get a textbook on the language. It is completely useless to describe this language here, since the XML textbook is a huge, thick book.

By default, the program combines books in ascending alphabetical order: symbols, numbers, English letters and, finally, Russian letters in file names. Sometimes when merging books, you need a different merge sequence. For example, we decided to combine all the classic books about the musketeers: The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After and The Vicomte de Bragelonne. Any other sequence is not allowed. To force the program to weld books in exactly this sequence, you need to change the file names - at least temporarily, only for the period of welding. Call these books: 1The Three Musketeers, 2Twenty Years Later, and 3The Vicomte de Bragelonne. Now the program will cook the books correctly. In the table of contents of a merged book, book titles will be taken from the titles of the books, rather than from their names. Therefore, there will be no numbers there. After welding the books, change the names of the original books to the same ones. These changes do not pose any difficulty, since the changes made are minimal.
