The Russian-speaking part of ESO players has long been hoping to see the game in an official Russian translation. But so far the developers are not eager to create a Russian localization of their brainchild.

The fans took it upon themselves to solve this problem. The creators of the popular TES resource have created a crack for the online version of Skyrim.
The following were translated: frames, game assistant, descriptions of abilities, a large number of books. The main storyline, all available guilds, alliances of the Daggerfall Covenant and the Ebonheart Pact have been translated 100%.

Also translated are the expansion packs: Shadows of the Hist, Horn of Reach, Clockwork City, Dragon Bones, Wolf Hunter, Morrowind and Summerset. Translation of additions means that they are completely reworked into Russian. Starting from character names, ending with books and achievements.

Instructions for installing the cracker

The installation process of the cracker should not take much time. It comes down to copying files to the game folder and editing some files. Let's look at the installation in more detail.

  • First of all, you need to download the game to your computer, then log in and exit. This is necessary for the game to add files and register configurations on the computer for normal operation in future.
  • Then you should download the archive with the crack through the official website of the RuESO project
  • The archive will contain three folders. For convenience, you can unpack them onto your desktop. The contents of the container should be moved to the game folder at: C:\Users\<Имя>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns – for Windows and ~/Documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/AddOns – for Mac users
  • When copying is complete, you need to open the file UserSettings.txt with notepad, located at Elder Scrolls Online\live
  • Minor adjustments will need to be made to this file, namely: SET IgnorePatcherLanguageSetting – set the value to “1”, and in line SET Language.2 write “ru”
  • If the steps were completed correctly, after launch the user will see an interface translated into Russian

But even after the localization has been installed, you can change the language. To do this, you need to go to settings and select the required language. You should know that when the user makes this change, the game, the next time it is launched, will be in the previously selected language.

But console players weren't so lucky. You won't be able to install RuESO on the XboxOne and PlayStation 4 consoles. And in the near future, the possibility of localization is not expected.
By the way, on the project website there is also a counter that displays the readiness of the project. At the time of writing, game content has been translated to 61.59 percent

Setting up translation

  1. Have installed game The Elder Scrolls Online.
  2. Download the archive from RuESO.
  3. In the archive you will find three folders and executable file. All three folders must be copied to the C:\Users\ directory<Имя>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\AddOns or C:\Users\<Имя>\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns (depending on the selected game megaserver). Executable file when correct installation The game can be launched from anywhere on your computer, but we recommend placing it in the The Elder Scrolls Online Launcher folder.
  4. Now you need to enter the game ( in the usual way), go to the Add-Ons menu (you can find it by pressing the Esc key) and make sure that there is a checkmark next to the RuESO add-on.
  5. Next you need to exit the game. All further launches of the game must be carried out through the executable file RuESO_Helper.

Instructions for those who do not want to use a third-party executable file to run:

Open configuration file games (C:\Users\Alex\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\liveeu\UserSettings.txt or C:\Users\Alex\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\UserSettings.txt), find the SET Language.2 parameter in it and change its value to "ru". Eventually given line should look like this:

Save and close the file. All further launches of the game must be done not through the TES Online launcher, but directly through the game executable file eso.exe (located in the folder \Path to installed game\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client or \Path to installed game\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client). Please note that after each launch of the game, not directly, but through the TES Online launcher, you will need to modify the configuration file again.

Localization does not in any way violate Terms of use and cannot lead to the blocking of the accounts of players using it - if there was even the slightest chance of a ban, we would not release RuESO.
