How to sync phone contacts with google. Google contacts synchronization: how to transfer contacts from your phone to the network

Previously, we had to write down contacts in special phone books and notepads, and those of us who could boast of excellent memory simply memorized them. Those old phones we used a little less than 10 years ago had too little memory to hold all the familiar phone numbers.
Those whose positions were supposed to have many contacts used organizers. “Planners” were inaccessible to ordinary people - they were expensive.
As soon as the first models of mobile devices that had software for iOS and Android began to appear, synchronization was in the air. And only with the advent of the fourth version of Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) and iOS, we learned to understand this mysterious word.

In this article we will tell you how you can synchronize contacts on smartphones with the Google Android and Apple iOS operating systems.

Google - Android

We learned about the possibility of synchronization in Google Android when accounts appeared in email addresses. With the account we could:
  • go to the application store;
  • navigate in time;
  • synchronize contacts;
  • look for your mobile device if it gets lost;
  • and this is not all the possibilities.
You don’t have to have an account, but then the owner of the smartphone is deprived of many benefits. And the user will learn about the capabilities of the mobile device only after activating a Google account.

Contacts on Android syncs with Google to keep everything you have across all your mobile devices in one place. This is very convenient if you have several devices. For example, your smartphone, iPad, smart watch and a couple of other gadgets store different phone numbers. It seems like there shouldn't be any problems, but...

You urgently need to make a call, but the tablet on which this contact is stored is out of access or discharged. And now the question arises: how to prevent this situation from arising? It's as simple as merging all the phone numbers from all your mobile devices and moving them into one place - your Google account. How to do this, read on.

Go to settings, scroll down until you see the appropriate item.

Click on it and you will see the “Add account” button. Click again and move on.

Here you will see all the programs that are already preinstalled. All require an account (entering a password and nickname). Things may look slightly different on your device. For example, if you use the free calling program, Skype, it will be displayed for you.

What is important to us here is not the number of pre-installed programs, but the Google account. Click on your account.

If you have one, enter your password and nickname, if you don’t have one, register.

We recommend that if you do not yet have an account, register on a personal computer or laptop rather than on a mobile device. When registration is completed, log into your account and click on the icon with arrows in the right corner. The synchronization process is complete.

Open the Contacts tab on your mobile device.

Call the context menu (special button with settings) and click as indicated in the picture below.

Where will you synchronize the numbers from: from a SIM card or smartphone memory? Once selected, click “Next”.

Select your email account as the new contact storage.

You can transfer any contacts to cloud storage. Click on the required ones, click on the icon and wait for the procedure to complete.

You can check the success of synchronization in your email by going to: . On this page you will see all the phone numbers that were stored on your devices.

Edit all contacts to your taste, dividing them into groups. And if critical errors occur when updating the software, you will not lose a single phone number, since they are all uploaded to cloud storage.

iOS - Google

Owners of an iPhone with the iOS operating system also use Google search engine services.

To synchronize or simply transfer all contacts from your iPhone to your Google email service, you need to do a few simple steps. Open apps and find settings.

Select "Mail". Click on this item and go to the tab where you can add an account.

You will be offered several mail services. Select Google Mail.

Carefully fill out all fields, especially the second and third. The first field is for a nickname or name, and in the description field you can give the name of the new phone book.

Click on synchronize contacts.

You won't see anything in your contact list. To complete the transfer (copy) procedure, contacts must be synchronized back.

Go to the settings of the mail service and find the section with contacts. Click on “Contacts from mail”.

Open contacts and wait for the synchronization procedure to complete. Everything went well.

Make it a habit not to clutter the memory of your mobile devices with hundreds of numbers. Storing contacts on the cloud will allow you to:
  • save space in the device memory;
  • do not be afraid of flashing;
  • do not be afraid of accidental deletions;
  • create groups of people.
Contacts on the cloud can be edited as you wish. It is much more convenient to do this from a computer than from a mobile device.

Uniting all mobile devices in one account is a convenient innovation that will allow you not to lose contacts and always have access to them.

Sooner or later, every phone owner is faced with the problem of transferring data from one device to another. It can be any combination. This is most often relevant for copying data from a phone to a computer or tablet, but there are many other devices with which you can “pair” your device. Sometimes it turns out that you need to establish contact between two phones. Let's talk about this.

In order to transfer data from one device to another, synchronization is needed. The difference from standard protocols is the presence of an external server for data storage. It all depends greatly on what kind of phone you have and to which one you need to transfer the information. In this article we will look at how to synchronize phones on the Android and Apple platforms.

Synchronizing Android phone books

Let's look at this problem using the example of synchronizing the phone books of an old and new phone. In order to synchronize them on this platform, you will need to create an account with Google. Everything is very simple here, if you have a Gmail email, then you are already registered and can proceed to the next step. Registration in such services as:

  • YouTube;
  • blogger;
  • Documentation;
  • Picasa.

If you have an account on the listed sites, just go to your mail. All of these resources were developed by Google, as was the Android platform itself, so they have well-developed synchronization schemes using accounts.

Next, let's work a little with the old phone. First of all, your phone book is information that is stored in memory in a certain form. In order to download this data first to Gmail, and then to the new phone, you need to format the contacts so that the resource can accept them. CSV and VCard are two formats suitable for this situation.

You need to go into the phone book of your old device and select all the contacts there. Next you need to copy them to the memory card. During this process they will automatically change the format. After that, you can find them on the memory card by going to the “General” folder and then “Contacts”. The last step in this step is to import this information into your Gmail. You need to copy contacts one at a time.

Now that we have the phone book in our Google account, we need to transfer it to a new device on the Android platform. Moreover, using synchronization, you can set up automatic data transfer. For example, if you deleted or added a contact in the mail, the phone will receive this data and do the same.

Taking a new phone, we proceed like this:

  • Go to Settings.
  • We look for the Accounts item, click - a menu appears.
  • In the pop-up window, the question “Add an existing account or create a new one?” appears at the top, and answer options appear at the bottom. Select "Existing".
  • Enter the Gmail details where your contacts are saved and log in.
  • Then we synchronize and get a ready-made phone book on the new phone.

Having completed all these steps, you can quickly retrieve the information you need on your new device, be it a phone, tablet or other device. This is very convenient in any situation and life-saving if you lose your device.

Android Snap Sync

Photo synchronization was mentioned in passing in a review on how to clear the memory of an Android phone. All photos from Google Photos can be uploaded, if there is a connection, to a network Google Drive, visible to everyone who has access to it (set by the account owner). To do this, you need to enter the Google Drive application on your phone, select the top left menu, enter the settings and set the Auto-add option.

The reverse process is supported by Google Photos. You need to go into the application, expand the menu in the upper left corner of the screen, select Startup and synchronization (support.google.com/photos/answer/6193313?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid&hl=ru). Please note that the instructions only work for older builds. In new versions of Google Photos there is no such item. The authors rolled back the updates for this application to factory settings (version 1.11.0.110496109), and then the option appeared.

More detailed options are set as follows:

Here you can configure roaming settings, give preference to free WiFi, and specify the size of photos. You can sync most documents through Google Drive. Opposite those of them that have not yet been uploaded to the server will be a crossed out cloud.

Peer-to-Peer synchronization

Many companies offer free and commercial versions of synchronizers. For example, Resilio offers a client for data transfer using Peer-to-Peer technology, widely used in torrent clients. A server is created with a dedicated hard drive, where synchronized subscribers upload information. You can download the application for your computer on the company's official website.

The mobile phone accesses the information by scanning a QR code, which must then be opened.

We used the BitTorrent Sync application from Google Play as a client. Although the software is quite young, it still managed to collect a lot of positive reviews.

It is possible to work with Google Drive. To transfer files, a request is sent to your account email, which you need to confirm by clicking on the link, or ignore.

Instead of paid synchronization

Google gives 15 GB of space for free, and you need to constantly ensure that there is free space. Instead, it is sometimes easier to transfer files over wireless protocols without the involvement of mobile networks.

BlueTooth

This interface did not take root in personal computers. Meanwhile, in automatic mode, it allows you to pair not only smartphones, but also regular phones without operating systems. This is the best and fastest way to convey a small amount of information. This allows you to upload beautiful photos and high-quality music to simple equipment. What is important for developers is that the interface specification is available for free download (bluetooth.com). This means that anyone who wants to (and knows how to program) can start writing applications for connecting devices right now. This is an important fact, because many standards (including ANSI) are sold at a very decent price, and it is not possible to find them in the public domain.

The name was chosen in honor of the ancient Viking king Harald Bluetooth. Known not only for his conquests and attempts to unite the lands, but also for the installation of runic stones to describe his territory, and the construction of fortresses. Just as stones without the king's inscriptions are rock, phones without BlueTooth software cannot communicate with each other properly. Harald I at one time managed to unite the kingdoms of Denmark and part of Norway. The developers from Stockholm, of course, read the ancient sagas and hoped that their interface could do what BlueTooth did for its subjects in the 10th century AD.

Like WiFi, the interface operates at a frequency of 2.4 GHz, and therefore expansion card modules are often combined. Both protocols can be used. This is very convenient, because both technologies are very popular, although, as is obvious, WiFi is gradually replacing its counterpart. In the fight against signal fading, the channel is constantly looking for more suitable frequencies, which provides a certain flexibility and adaptability of the interface.

Unlike WiFi, the protocol speed is not very high, barely exceeding 1 Mbit/s. But this is quite enough to transfer small files between phones. For example, a high-quality 4K resolution photo can weigh about 5 MB. That is, the transfer will take 10 seconds. Most phone cameras have a much lower resolution, therefore, information is transmitted almost instantly. BlueTooth 5, released in pursuit of WiFi, is much more productive, the bitrate reaches 50 Mbps at a distance of up to 230 meters. To synchronize two phones you need to do the following:

Data transfer is carried out through the menu of these folders, the second option is to go to the directories and act from there. Some phones will additionally need to accept an OPP data transfer profile to complete the operation successfully. This happens automatically, but requires user approval.

Using WiFi

Under Android, it is possible to directly transfer data via WiFi Direct. All phones that have enabled the option will see each other. The menu is located in the WiFi network settings.

But sometimes it is more convenient to communicate through friendly applications. For example, the WiFi Transfer application is installed on Alcatel Onetocuh. We couldn't find it on the Play Market, but it's definitely present on many phones. The interface can be confusing when you first turn it on.

To a user accustomed to Windows, it seems logical to click images using the dot pointers at the bottom of the screen. But nothing happens! Only the Android user will guess that you need to drag to the left, then the next screen will appear.

Finally, on the third screen a prompt appears to start working... In particular, the system requires that there be no anonymous users in it. For presentation, use the user’s own nickname and an avatar to choose from from nine preset ones. Those interested can upload any photo.

After this, all that remains is to create your own group or join an existing one to begin transmitting information.

As can be seen from the screenshots, you can transfer music, videos, drawings, etc. Another common program is Share.it. We talked about it in the section on how to transfer photos from your phone to a computer (that does not support WiFi Direct).

Apple Sync

An iOS device can be synced wired using a special iTunes program. This is done using the original USB cable that comes with the phone itself and a computer.

All devices of this brand are synchronized with iTunes. Every time you update your device, adding or deleting new data, images or music, you will need to sync it with your computer so that all the information is copied there. Already from a stationary machine, you can transfer information in the opposite way to any Apple device. Let's look at this in more detail.

  • To sync you need the latest version of iTunes. Open the program and make sure all updates are installed.
  • Using a USB cable, connect your phone to the computer through the appropriate connector.
  • find the list of connected devices on the program control panel and select the one you need to work
  • then open this menu, on the left you will see a list of tabs that you can transfer to your computer
  • In order to synchronize devices, you need to click on the corresponding button at the bottom of the window.

A similar connection to a computer is also possible in reverse. You can also connect and synchronize without a cable. This can be done via wireless Internet, which, with good speed, is much more convenient.

By following these simple steps, you will make your life much easier when purchasing a new phone or any other device from the listed companies. If you are still tormented by the complexity of the question “how to sync phone to phone?” leave it. Just a few minutes of wasted time will save you whole hours of useless torment over technology in the future.

2 ratings, average: 4,00 out of 5)

Modern phones are capable of storing quite a large amount of information. This includes music, games, photos and videos, various programs and personal user data. However, as practice shows, the most expensive thing for users is a phone book with phone numbers recorded in it. Very often, people grieve not because of the loss of a mobile device or erased progress in a toy, but rather because of phone numbers, especially now when it has become extremely easy to lose data. Therefore, every user simply must know how to synchronize contacts from Android to Android.

It is important!

How many people value their phone book? and losing it can be tantamount to death. After all, there are treasured combinations of dear and close people, work colleagues, business partners, distant relatives, friends, etc. And the fact that a good half of these phones can no longer be found increases the value of the contact book many times over.

What could pose a threat?

It’s quite easy to lose treasured contacts, especially with the advent of smartphones, which can already compete with many computers. And the reasons for the loss may be the following:

  • theft, loss or breakdown of a mobile device;
  • problems with the Android operating system, as a result of which a flashing is required;
  • the smartphone is blocked by a virus program or by the user himself, as a result of which it is necessary to reset to factory settings;
  • problems with the phone as a result of a system failure (for example, sometimes Sony Xperia smartphones begin to constantly reboot when Bluetooth is turned on);
  • accidental formatting of mobile device data by the user himself (due to careless handling) and much more.

This is why you need to know, since it is clear that there are quite a few ways to lose all the data from your phone. In addition, these incidents can happen at any time, so you should not be so arrogant and think that this will not affect you.

How to synchronize contacts from Android to Android?

You can do this in several ways:

  • using a computer;
  • without the help of a computer.

There are several ways to synchronize contacts without using a computer:

  • through the phone book;
  • using your Google account.

Synchronizing with Google

Every Android smartphone user has a Google account. At least it should have it, since without it it is impossible to go to the Play Market and, accordingly, install any game or application. If for some reason the mail in Google is not created, then we run to the official website google.com and quickly register and log into Google Play under the same account. This is simply necessary, since you can synchronize contacts on Android using your Google mail account.

Next, the procedure is as follows: open the phone settings, look for the “Accounts and synchronization” item. Here you can see all accounts from all applications, including gmail. Go to it, find “Synchronize contacts” in the list and click on this item. That's it, all phone numbers were successfully synchronized. How to synchronize contacts from Android to Android LG, for example, after this? On the new gadget (to which you need to transfer the data), we also log in to the system under the same account and synchronize.

Transferring contacts

Each Android device can save a copy of the phone book. You can do this like this: open “Contacts”, click on options (or functions), and then select “Export”, “Backup” or “Back up contacts” from the list of functions. By the way, this is a great way to do it without Google.

Now we choose where the phone book will be saved: on a SIM or memory card. If saving to a SIM card, then mark the required phone numbers or select all of them, and then transfer them. If we transfer it to an SD card, the smartphone itself will indicate in which directory the file with numbers will be saved.

Having saved the phones to the SIM card, you need to do such a thing as synchronize contacts from Android to Android Sony (or a gadget from any other company). This is done in the simplest way: by moving the SIM card from one phone to another and importing the numbers. It is done in exactly the same way as export, so there should be no problems with this.

Exporting to an SD card somewhat expands the possibilities of transferring a phone book, at least in that this file will be located on a flash drive and can be transferred in any convenient way:

  • move the flash drive to another device;
  • via Bluetooth;
  • by email;
  • using cloud storage (Yandex.Disk, Cloud Mail, etc.);
  • using social networks, Skype and other means of communication;
  • and, of course, transfer it from one gadget to a PC, and from it to another smartphone.

Let's summarize

In principle, these two ways of synchronizing contacts from Android to Android will be enough to save your contacts from accidents. And if you call on everyone’s favorite computer for help, then the number of ways to save the necessary phone numbers increases several times. But, as you can see, even without it this can be done quite quickly and effectively.

Extending the lifespan of a smartphone

As you know, 90% of the causes of computer breakdowns are sitting in front of the monitor. The situation is exactly the same with mobile devices. Most problems arise due to the fault of the user, with subsequent explanations of what happened “itself.” To protect yourself from device breakdowns and problems with the operating system, you need to follow a few simple but extremely important recommendations:

  • It is best to download applications and games from Google Play and avoid unknown sources, as such utilities may contain viruses.
  • For the same reason, you should refrain from connecting your gadget to unknown computers.
  • Having received root (super administrator rights), you need to be extremely careful, since there is a possibility of seriously harming the system, which will require you to either reset to factory settings or reflash Android.
  • A backup copy of data, and contacts in particular, should always be saved and re-saved to a newer one from time to time, so that at any time you can restore lost data and continue to live peacefully.
  • You also need to be extremely careful with your device, as it will not make a hole in the asphalt if it falls. Most touch screens are fragile and a small drop will definitely hurt them.

What can you do with contacts on Android?

Managing contacts is both difficult and easy at the same time. The fact is that modern smartphones receive contacts applications from the manufacturer, which may differ from each other. To begin with, I would like to look at the key features using one example.

As a rule, contacts are not represented by a separate system application, which is placed on the main desktop. Accompanied by an appropriate name and an informative icon. Finding a list of contacts is not difficult.

Opening it, we get a list of contacts sorted by name, complemented by a fairly clear interface. Here, in addition to names, are the most necessary functions:

  • finding the right contact;
  • “Plus” icon to add a new number;

Additional options can be obtained by holding your finger on one of the contacts for a long time. In the context menu that opens, we can delete, change, move to a group or send a contact. Everything is very clear.

The function of adding new names is also easy to organize. On modern ones it is much more diverse than phone books on old push-button dialers. Here, in addition to the phone number and name, you can specify a bunch of useful information about the subscriber.

Information in contacts
  • Full name, titles, jobs.
  • Mobile, home or work number (you can create a new type yourself).
  • Where would we be without email or fax?
  • Set a separate melody, set a photo or picture, add it to a group - all this can also be done.

As you can see, the functionality of even a standard tool is very wide. Imagine what third-party applications are capable of, in which you can save contacts. Although no, don’t imagine. We will tell you about them now.

Where can you store contacts on Android?

When creating a new contact, you have the option to choose where it will be saved. Until recently, we had to limit ourselves to the memory of SIM cards and phones, but today applications and cloud services have been added to them.

It is clear that the easiest option for many users will be to save contacts directly in . In this case, you will not have to create accounts anywhere or download any applications - by default, the save will be made to the phone. However, there is a fairly noticeable drawback to this storage method. No manufacturer can guarantee that a smartphone will not fail one day, and all data, including contacts, cannot be restored.

To ensure the safety of contacts, special applications are being developed. They will introduce new opportunities and ensure reliable safety through special cloud services. However, you shouldn’t run to Google Play or websites and look for applications - everything is already thought out in the Android system.

Sync contacts with Google

The search giant is constantly trying to improve its operating system, expanding the user experience. For various tasks, the developer offers a set, as well as the ability to save Android contacts.

This feature itself is needed so that the user can access the list of contacts on any device by linking it to their Google account. It doesn’t matter whether your phone is broken or you bought a new one - the list will always be with you. If you use synchronization, contacts are stored not only on your smartphone, but also on the company’s servers, which you can access at any time.

Creating a Google Account
  1. you need to go to the device settings, where you find the “Accounts and synchronization” item (can be located in additional settings);
  2. in a new window you need to select “Add an account”, and select Google from the proposed list of services;
  3. You will be given two options to choose from: add existing account information or create a new one;
  4. following the prompts, create a new account (or enter the login and password of an existing one) - anyone can figure it out.

Basically, everything is ready. All that remains is to go to the added accounts (“Settings” – “Accounts and synchronization”), select Google. A list of applications that can be synchronized will open (Contacts, Calendar, Documents and others) - just click on those from which you want to save information on the server (or click the “Sync” button to do it for everyone).

An automatic synchronization function is also available (you need to activate the switch next to the corresponding item in the account settings), which will save new Android contacts for you. You just have to remember that it requires an Internet connection.

Google Contacts

After the first synchronization, your list will appear in Google Contacts ( www.google.com/contacts), where you can access even from a personal computer. Here you can view and edit information about subscribers, add new ones.

Google Contacts is a truly worthwhile company service that can greatly simplify the process of saving and transferring contacts. The advantages include:

  1. the method is free;
  2. very simple;
  3. comfortable;
  4. functional;
  5. the ability to manage contacts from any device.

However, I would like to highlight the disadvantages:

  1. firstly, if an attacker gains access to your Google account, then he will have, in addition to other information about you, a list of contacts;
  2. secondly, if you listen to paranoid users, then any large corporation is trying to collect more information about us. And you can see a bit of truth in this.

More applications for working with contacts on Android

For the average user, a standard phone book with its functionality, supplemented by the capabilities of Google Contacts for reliable storage, is quite enough. However, in some cases, the device manufacturer provides the user with a very bad default application that runs with a lot of errors. If you are one of the unlucky ones, then we recommend the following third-party applications.

Contacts+

An interesting application for working with your contact list, which attracts with its colorful interface. The user has the opportunity to change themes, assign avatars, and sort names according to specified parameters. It is distributed free of charge, but the application itself has a purchase option. In addition, Contacts+ offers a backup function that saves subscriber numbers, SMS and call logs. However, in the free version you can save up to 2000 contacts.

VCF Contacts

This application is interesting, first of all, for its way of saving contacts. Instead of the usual database, “VCF Contacts” creates a file with the .vfc extension, which is convenient to use when importing/exporting a list. It will be especially useful in cases where you urgently need to restore your Android contact list from a backup. Otherwise, it is not very different from standard tools.

Simpler Contacts Dialing

The application is ready to offer the most extensive opportunities. In addition to the phone book, it includes a dialer and SMS editor. A plus to this will be the backup function, which allows you to save a copy to your smartphone’s memory or to cloud storage.

How to transfer contacts

The Android operating system, bypassing many competitors, provides convenient ways to transfer contacts to other devices.

Transfer contacts from Android to Android

The easiest way to copy all contacts from one Android smartphone to another is to use a Google account. You haven't forgotten that every device running on Google's OS can be linked to a single account, right? We only need to perform a few steps:

  1. both smartphones must be linked to the same Google account;
  2. Both smartphones need to be synchronized.

So, in a matter of seconds, contacts from one phone will move to another. However, both devices must be connected to the Internet.

In approximately the same way, sending a contact through instant messengers, social networks, cloud storage, SMS, MMS, and so on occurs.

Finally, you can use a rather old transfer method using a memory card or SIM. For this:

  1. you need to find the “Import/export contacts” item (via the context menu (three dots at the top right) or in the device settings (the “Contacts” item);
  2. select “Export” and where you need to save the copy - SIM card, memory card or internal storage;
  3. install the media (SIM or memory card) into another smartphone and again go to importing and exporting contacts, only this time select the second one, specifying the path to the location of the copy.
Transfer contacts from Android to iPhone (and vice versa)

You'll have to use Gmail to get your contact list to move from your Android device to your iPhone. So, by default, the phone book on the iPhone is linked to iCloud. We need to change the selection to Gmail without losing our contact list. To do this, in the iPhone accounts settings you need to disable contact synchronization withiCloud, selecting the “Keep in phone” option in the pop-up window. This way your entire phone book will remain untouched.

Then, right here in the iPhone settings, we make Gmail the default account for contacts. After a short period of time, synchronization will occur and the contacts will appear on the device.

For this, you can create a VCard file that will contain a database of numbers. For this, a personal computer and the iCloud service are used. You can save the VCard file on your PC and then transfer it to your Android device. After which the contacts are imported, as we described just above.

Transfer contacts from Windows Phone to Android

The easiest transfer method in this case would be to use an Outlook account. The fact is that Windows Phone is tied to Microsoft, and all records are stored in Outlook. We just need to install the official Outlook application from the Google Play store and add an account in the settings, then select contact synchronization. The method is very simple, but with a drawback - in some cases you cannot edit contacts.

You can go another way: create a CVS file on Outlook.com, which will contain a copy of the phone book. This is done in the “Management” item, where you can export and save the file to your computer. After that, in order not to mess around for a long time, you can log into Google Contacts directly from your PC, click on the left “More”, “Import” and select “From a CVS or vCard file”. All that remains is to synchronize in the Android account settings if it does not happen automatically.

The possibilities of Android OS have no limits. The operating system offers many useful options that not everyone knows about. There are several “tricks” related to the phone book.

Contacts from FaceBook, VKontakte and instant messengers in the phone book

Did you know that in the phone book you can display all your friends from social networks with their phone numbers, photos, dates of birth and other information? No, then remember the instructions:

  1. go to the device settings, then – “School records and synchronization”;
  2. go to the list of available accounts and select the one you need (FaceBook, VKontakte or others);
  3. click “Contact synchronization”;
  4. from the options, select what you want to synchronize;
  5. complete the process by clicking the “Synchronize” button.

After a couple of moments, your phone book will be replenished with new entries.

Restoring contacts

The best way to recover contacts on Android is to back up and sync with Google in advance. Even a specialist is not ready to guarantee the restoration of a completely deleted contact. However, some applications promise to help the user with this problem. A striking example is the Data Doctor Recovery program, which performed quite well in its work. Also popular are MobileDev360, Restore Contacts, Deleted Contacts, available for free download from Google Play.

It’s not a fact that applications will help either: a lot depends on the load on the system and how long ago the deletion took place. The solution may be to contact the operator with a request for call details for a certain period.

Conclusion

On this note, perhaps, let’s draw a line under our article today. The contact list, as you may have already understood, is not such a simple function as it seems at first glance. Modern technologies provide access to all sorts of options and tools that turn the phone book into a repository of important information about subscribers. And various kinds of services make it easy to transfer contact lists from device to device, as well as securely store them on remote servers. We hope our material will help you unlock the full potential of your phone book.

The Android mobile operating system, like almost any modern platform, provides functionality that ensures the safety of the user’s personal data. One of these tools is synchronization of contacts, passwords, applications, calendar entries, etc. But what if such an important element of the OS stops working properly?

One of the common problems in this case is the lack of synchronization of the user's contact list. Such a failure may be short-term, in which case after a certain time the exchange of data with the Google cloud is restored.

It's another matter when the termination of contact synchronization is permanent. We will talk further about how to correct such an error in the system.

Before performing the steps described below, you should double-check whether the device is connected to the Internet. Just open any page in a mobile web browser or launch an application that requires mandatory network access.

You should also be sure that you are logged into your Google account and there are no problems with its operation. To do this, open any application from the “Good Corporation” mobile application package, such as Gmail, Inbox, etc. Better yet, try installing any program from the Play Store.

And the last point - auto-sync must be turned on. If this function is activated, the necessary data is synchronized with the cloud automatically without your direct participation.

To find out if this option is enabled, you need to go to "Settings""Accounts""Google". Here in the additional menu (vertical ellipsis at the top right) the item should be checked "Auto-sync data".

If all of the above points are in perfect order, feel free to move on to ways to fix the contact synchronization error.

Method 1: Manually synchronize your Google account

The simplest solution, which in some cases can be effective.

If after performing these steps, synchronization begins and completes successfully, the problem is solved. Otherwise, we try other ways to resolve the error.

Method 2: Removing and Re-Adding Google Account

This option is even more likely to fix the problem with syncing contacts on your Android device. You just need to delete your authorized Google account and log in again.

Our next step is to add the newly deleted Google account to the device again.

By adding a Google account again, we start the data synchronization process from scratch.

Method 3: Force Synchronization

If the previous troubleshooting methods do not work, you will have to “cheat,” so to speak, and force the device to synchronize all data. There are two ways to do this.

The first method is to change the date and time settings.

As a result, your contacts and other data will be forcibly synchronized with the Google cloud.

Another option for forcing synchronization is using a dialer. Accordingly, it is suitable only for Android smartphones.

In this case, you need to open the Phone application or any other “dialer” and enter the following combination:

As a result, you should see the following message in the notification bar indicating a successful connection.

Method 4: Clear cache and delete data

A very effective method of dealing with contact synchronization errors is to completely delete them and clear the associated data.

Now let's start clearing the cache and contact list.

Method 5: Third Party App

It may happen that none of the methods described above will fix the problem with contact synchronization. In this case, we recommend using it from a third-party developer.

The “Fix for contact synchronization” program is able to identify and correct a number of errors that lead to the inability to synchronize contacts.

All you need to do to fix the problem is press a button "To correct" and follow further instructions of the application.
