I showed an example of two pages. Here they are in one document.

Hello friends! Many of us probably use a scanner (usually a flatbed) at work to convert paper documents into electronic form. We need electronic scans of documents in order to send them by email to various places, store them on a computer in an archive if required, and share them via the Internet.

This is how most organizations operate today. We send reporting to the bank, payment slips for services, reconciliation reports, and a bunch of other electronic papers to counterparties, statistics, and so on. Originals by regular mail. All scanners can make electronic copies in pdf format. It is more familiar, and a pdf scan usually “weighs much less” compared to the jpeg format. Today I will talk about three ways to save PDF documents into one file and why it is useful to do so.

The main disadvantage of flatbed scanners is the inconvenience of scanning - you can only scan one sheet at a time. Accordingly, we get the number of received electronic documents equal to the number of scanned sheets. Of course, we will send them all with attachments to the addressee.

But imagine yourself in his place. For example, you received six files by mail and you have to print them one by one. And here the human factor comes into play - you missed some sheet when printing it, you have to re-open the mail, look through the entire parcel again from beginning to end until you find the missing part... If these are monotonous bank accounts, then you quickly get tired of this activity. Sound familiar? So, a lot of time is wasted and concentration is strained when printing.

And it’s a good idea for yourself to be able to save scanned documents in one file. At the right time I sent it to the right place or printed it out. And there is no need to collect the document in parts, they are afraid that the sheet was not reported. I store scans of all important documents in one file - passport pages, and so on. And by the way, it helped out more than once. I scanned it once and that was it. I printed it out and gave it to the place of request.

We combine PDF files into one document online

So, you need to combine several scanned sheets into one file. And you have them on your computer in the form of several PDF files. The first thing that comes to mind is online services.

If you have the Internet, then you can try to find some good online service. In the top search engines today is ilovepdf.com, we haven’t looked into it yet. We type this name in the search bar and get to the page:

Go to the “Combine PDF” tab. Select the required documents by clicking on the corresponding “Select PDF files” button. Through the explorer, select the ones you need:

All documents are selected at once in Explorer by pressing the Shift key on the keyboard + left mouse button. First, click on the first file as usual, then hold down the Shift key and, without releasing it, select the lowest one in the folder with the mouse. This way you can select everything you need. If you need only two (or three) documents, press the Ctrl key + left mouse button and, without releasing it, select the required number.

All our selected pages appeared on the screen at once. You can drag them with the mouse relative to each other, remove unnecessary sheets, and sort them. After completing these manipulations, click “Combine PDF”

You've probably had to deal with the need to turn a paper document into an electronic one. If you do not have a scanner at hand, then you have to go to a special institution where all the necessary operations will be performed for you for a reasonable fee. However, do not forget that you have Android in your pocket, which means you can easily handle this task yourself.

In this review you will find several applications that will replace your scanner and allow you to create a copy of a document in PDF format. They all work on the same principle: you take a picture of the original with the built-in camera, and then the program, using its algorithms, processes the resulting picture and gives you an electronic copy of it. Of course, to successfully complete a task, with this approach, the capabilities of your camera are of great importance.

CamScanner

CamScanner is one of the most popular mobile applications for scanning documents, notes, and business cards. The application can automatically correct the perspective, crop, and improve the quality of the resulting image in order to obtain a more presentable and easy-to-read file. Scans can be saved in JPEG or PDF formats, depending on your preference. Registered users can use the cloud service to store and share their documents. In addition, there is a premium subscription ($4.99 per month or $40 per year) that provides additional features, including text recognition.

Google Drive

Google Drive is typically used to access Google's cloud service and office suite, but the app can also serve as a quick and easy-to-use document scanner. In the main program window, next to the buttons for downloading and creating files, you will see a button Scan. Like the previous application, Google Drive can significantly improve your photo, correct incorrect proportions and crop white margins. The resulting PDF file is saved directly to cloud storage and becomes accessible from any of your devices. But the most important thing is that there is the ability to recognize text, which means you can additionally edit it, save it in other formats, use search, and so on.

Genius Scan

If for some reason you did not use the previous two applications, then give Genius Scan a chance. It is quite simple, but effectively copes with the assigned task. A gentleman's set, in the form of auto-correction of perspective, recognition and cropping of fields, correction of photo quality, is present here. But besides this, there is a paid version of the program with expanded integration with Box, Dropbox, Evernote and other cloud services.

  • Avoid photographing documents at an angle, as this may leave parts of the image out of focus.
  • Try to fill the space in the frame as best as possible.
  • Place the document on a well-lit surface. Use your phone's flash if required.
  • If the document is inside a plastic file, remove it. This will eliminate reflections and result in a better photo.
