Do you need a multicooker with a bread maker function or is it better to have separate devices? Choosing between a bread machine and a multicooker

Homemade baking requires attention, patience and time. Most families buy bread at the store, because life dictates its own conditions, and not everyone can please their family with fresh baked goods. But help comes with modern household appliances for the kitchen. For example, a multicooker can take on most of the responsibilities for preparing dinner and give a woman some free time. A bread machine will help you bake homemade fragrant bread.
You get two appliances, which is convenient, but not always, especially when the kitchen has a small area. But today this is not a problem either; manufacturers offer a multicooker with a bread maker function.

Bread machine capabilities
The bread maker can bake a wide variety of bread - white, rye, honey mustard and French baguette. In addition, she can also make muffins and Easter cakes. Maintains a certain temperature and time. She kneads the dough herself, calculates the proofing time, and in front of you is the finished bread without any hassle.
Multicooker with bread maker function
You can only have a bread machine, but not everyone is comfortable. A multicooker with a bread maker function will provide you with more options. Two appliances in one significantly save space in the kitchen.

Bread mode and bread machine function

These are completely different things. Simpler models of multicookers may have a “Bread” mode or program. What it is? Here you can also bake bread, just find the right recipe, but you will have to make the dough “by hand”. Once the dough is ready, place it in the bowl and select the program. It works on the following principle - you set the time for proofing the dough yourself, 1.5 - 2 hours, and only then bake, where you can also choose the time.

If we talk about the second option, then here the manufacturer offers more possibilities; in front of you is a full-fledged bread maker. Choose a recipe, load the ingredients in a certain sequence and install the program. The smart device will do everything itself - knead the dough, give it time to proof and bake. All you have to do is remove the finished product from the multicooker. Undoubtedly, a multicooker with a bread maker function is the best choice.

Advantages of combining devices

More functionality, you have the opportunity not only to cook soup, pilaf and other dishes in a multicooker, but also to entrust it with the complete preparation of bread, with your minimal participation.
Save space, it is more rational to use one device instead of two. Ideal for small-sized kitchens where literally every centimeter of free space is valued.

Disadvantages of combining instruments
Not all manufacturers offer such a convenient model, but the cost is much higher than a regular multicooker. If you prefer real homemade bread, but you are sorely short of time, this multifunctional model is for you. You can cook in a slow cooker not only porridge for breakfast, but also pamper your family with delicious pastries. Homemade bread is much tastier and healthier than store-bought bread, you can see what it is made from. Many people are stopped only by the cost, but it pays off in literally a year. The health of your family and yours is priceless.

Another multicooker will give a 100-point head start to a bread maker for a reason. No matter how long we have looked at the market, the request “3D heated bread maker” is deprived of the opportunity to please with tangible results. You can set the color of the crust, we’re surprised how! It is logical to equip the bread machine with more than one curved heating element passing under the bowl - a network, so that there is light from all sides. Professional bakeries do this. Is the oven floor deprived of heating (optional). The wheels of the racks with baking sheets are equipped with a rubber coating. Heat from below will destroy the material. Infrared rays from below are powerless to convey light to the loaves, and from above... A multi-cooker with a bread machine function, the better. Let's talk so that the desire to take an additional device disappears or, on the contrary, appears!

Differences between a multicooker and a bread maker

First, forums are asking how a slow cooker bakes bread. The conclusion is dictated by:

Use a tabletop mixer to make a batch. Then turn on the heat in the multicooker. Once the dough has risen, the Baking mode starts and the finished product is obtained. More often the cook turns the loaf over after a predetermined time.

Let's look at the hidden aspects waiting for those who want to benefit from friendly advice:

  • The mixer will knead the dough, professional bakeries do this! The appearance of a large vat, inside the planetary trajectory is outlined by the rotating petals of the corolla. Can anyone afford to buy a professional mixer? Household ones are also not cheap, they have restrictions, and sellers carefully keep mum. Duration of continuous operation. The operating mode of household appliances with electric motors is short-term. Skipping refrigerators and vacuum cleaners, let's discuss miniature kitchen gadgets. Many mixers do not have built-in protection against overheating (any refrigerator is equipped with it). The housewife works vigorously for 10 minutes, and at the eleventh minute, surprised, she notices: the buzzing has disappeared, there is a smell of smoke. He scolds the manufacturer, it’s not the factory’s fault - the management indicates the restrictions, there’s too little time to read. Will you definitely wait 10 minutes? Do you know how long to wait to restart? 30 minutes and up to an hour! We believe that a good mixer alone can cost as much as a bread machine.
  • The second point is the need to know the correct technology for preparing the dough. Recipes for baked goods include the addition of raisins and nuts. Do you know how to do it right? A bread maker with a dispenser knows better. The main thing is that the equipment will do it according to the schedule, automatically. Mix the ingredients, add nuts and raisins. Proofing will occur according to the program, baking will begin. The bread maker is different in that it bakes and kneads on its own. The ingredients are placed in a bowl, the dispenser is filled with nuts and raisins. Pressing a button is a slight exaggeration; in fact, you set several options - after a certain number of hours, excellent bread is obtained. Set the crust color.

Finally, please note: it is recommended to proof the multicooker in the Yogurt or warm mode. 40 ºС heat. You will have to choose the time yourself. It is possible to use the Multicook mode; parameters (time, temperature) are set separately. It turns out to be a hassle. A subtle point arises.

Pay attention to the option of bread machines for baking gluten-free dough products. What a beast. Gluten! Contains wheat and other grains. A grey, tasteless protein that gives dough its viscosity. Forming is simplified. Anyone who has tried to make dough that is too dry will understand what the authors are saying. A mason needs viscosity in a solution, especially a baker. The epic began with the clarification of a scientific fact: 1% of people on Earth are powerless to tolerate gluten (the second name for gluten), and attempts began to replace the ingredients of bread (corn). This caused a deviation in the cooking technology.

The bread maker does not support gluten-free dough - in a multicooker using the above methods, you are guaranteed to find a solution to the problem. It is possible that you will have to suffer, the first option is unsuccessful. Reprogramming the processor is beyond the power of the average user. It’s not a fact that the company’s service engineer can handle it. A bread maker without gluten will not function properly. Take note before choosing to find out whether your family suffers from a disease called celiac disease. By the way, Yandex issues a request, there is a comprehensive answer. Cooking bread is possible, the cook will just have to rack his brains when choosing modes.

It is known that in expensive multicookers you will find the option of proofing the dough. We believe the result depends on the recipe. Therefore, it is better to make inquiries in advance, avoiding paying for unnecessary functions. The multicooker comes with a recipe book and rules for using the equipment.

Another significant difference is the shape. The multicooker is equipped with a round bowl, the bread maker is equipped with a rectangular bowl (rounded). In the latter case, a set of molds is used, sometimes blanks of two to eight products are placed. Allows you to obtain bakery products of various types. Ask your dealer for a complete description; don’t be afraid to experiment. Bread machine users praise the resulting product. The point is to automate the process 100%. The only thing we recommend is to stock up on scales, maintaining the recipe with lightning precision (avoid hitting the same place twice). A multicooker with a baking function has much more modest functionality. The manufacturer avoids focusing on the features of the device, we would venture to guess: simple bread, at most one type of roll.

Remember two provisions that will help you put what you have learned in its place:

  1. A slow cooker is simply a bowl that maintains the correct temperature. Unable to knead, will help proof the dough, bake the product.
  2. A bread maker is a complex device that kneads, proves, and bakes. Attention, human assistance is not required for the equipment.

A separate advantage is the presence of a window in the bread machine, through which we observe the process. The slow cooker has no abilities. A special touch is the choice of crust color.

Price comparison of bread machine and multicooker

The advantage of multicookers is limited by their low price. As for primitive models, even in the latter we will find a heating function that helps the dough rise. For 3,500 rubles, if you get a Redmond RMC-M4502 multicooker, you will find:

  • 3D heating;
  • Baking program;
  • Dough program.

The sequence of operations looks like:

  1. The ingredients are taken and the kneading is carried out manually. Filler is added if necessary.
  2. The dough is proofed by the program and baking begins. The time is set according to the recipe.

The kit contains a book that teaches you how to use the options. Not bad if you’re pressed for time... If you want fresh baked goods in the morning so that it’s done overnight, this option is, to put it mildly, inappropriate. We take products from the same company. We find RBM-M1902 on the counter. We see: the dispenser is zero, the sound signal for adding ingredients is set to sound. We believe that when the bread machine needs nuts, the equipment will cheerfully signal. We get for 4500 rubles:

  1. Cooking without gluten.
  2. Working with durum wheat (slow carbohydrates). Nutrition is considered healthy, the absorption of nutrients is extended over a long period of time, and less fat is deposited.
  3. The bread maker is equipped with a Turbo option; we would recommend leaving it in accelerated mode.
  4. The weight of a loaf is up to a kilogram; the device cannot cook any special types of baked goods.

Having added 1000 rubles, we discard some of the problems, see for yourself whether the raisins are important so that the operations occur automatically! The chosen bread machine will knead the dough, proof it, and bake it itself. By adding the desired price to 7,000 rubles, we get RBM-M1900. The bread maker comes equipped with a dispenser, allows you to finely regulate the weight of products, remembers the program when the power goes out for up to 7 minutes, and is equipped with a rich set of preset programs.

When choosing a device, look at the capabilities. You will see bread machines for French rolls and Borodino bread. Find a device that suits your gastronomic preferences. A multicooker with a bread maker function of more modest capabilities. We recommend asking for a recipe book if in doubt. It is written in detail how to use the programs and what the product represents. A bread maker is bought to get some tasty dietary supplement. Gastronomic preferences come first. No matter how diverse the functions of multicookers are, they are powerless to replace the automatic cooking process of a bread machine:

  • no dispenser;
  • no kneading paddle;
  • the number of programs and ingredients has been reduced.

A separate problem is the lack of a recipe book. Everything you find in the multicooker instructions is an instruction to pour out the ingredients and bake according to “your recipe.” It is with a small letter, as if 100 chefs had gathered to read the booklet. Bread machine manufacturers are 100% aware of the task of explaining recipes. You will feel the difference instantly.

This time we are testing a hybrid device - a multicooker-bread maker. The set includes a bowl for baking bread with a paddle for kneading. There are two heating elements in the model's body - the bottom one, for working in multi-cooker mode, and the side one, for working in bread machine mode. The software part is also functionally separated. In the multicooker mode there are 18 automatic programs, “Multicook” and “Multicook Plus”, in the bread machine mode - 12 automatic ones and “Multicook Bread”.

The idea of this hybrid is quite clear - few people can boast of spacious kitchens with work surfaces extending beyond the horizon. And the market offers more and more household appliances that you want to own, but have nowhere to put them. Therefore, everything that is called multifunctional and combines several items at once attracts the keen interest of the buyer. A bread maker is a rather bulky device, but it takes some effort to fit it comfortably in the kitchen. In short, this device is for those who use a multi-cooker and would not mind baking bread, but don’t have room.

The multicooker has a stylish design and touch controls; the display is not on the lid, like Polaris 0523AD, but on the front panel of the casing. In addition to the usual accessories, the kit includes a measuring spoon with two containers for adding ingredients to the dough when baking bread.

Preparation for use

When cooking in the multicooker mode at this stage you will not find anything unusual. Place a container to collect condensate on the back wall of the device. Wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth, just in case, boil a lemon, driving out the possibility of a plastic spirit.

In bread machine mode, the most important thing when preparing the device for operation is to remember to remove the protective screen from the lid.

Cooking

We begin to test the device in multicooker mode. We have already tested Polaris with similar software, so we are checking first of all the modes that the manufacturer focuses on. These are “Multipovar” and “Multipovar Plus”.

Beef in beer

For the “Multi-cook” mode, we chose veal in beer, using the official representative of Polaris in Russia. We pre-marinated the meat for a day, then proceeded according to the recipe. However, it was not possible to completely follow the instructions from the monitor screen; for example, we are asked to fry the beef in a spoon of vegetable oil until dark in 5 minutes. Of course, during this time in a multicooker operating at 160°, the beef is not fried, no matter how much we would like. But in 10 minutes - yes, we got some semblance of quickly fried meat. In general, no matter how well the software part of the multicooker works and no matter what material the bowl is made of, fast frying is not the strong point of multicookers. But after cooking, you don’t need to wash the stove and the surrounding area - numerous forum users oppose us.

Tasters' verdict. The multicooker did its job well, the meat was stewed, it was soft enough, but did not disintegrate into fibers. But we had doubts about the recipe itself: as a result, around the meat we get a lot of very thick and not very interesting-tasting sauce made from beer, broth, onions and flour.

Next we tested Multicook Plus. This is a mode where you can program several stages, each having previously specified the desired time and temperature. The recipe was taken from the included recipe book (there are very few recipes for this program, both in print and online). Cocotte eggs were prepared in a two-stage mode with a temperature change of 40 °C.

Cocotte eggs

To prepare this dish, you need to have two small heat-resistant vessels (they are called cocotte makers, but craftsmen also cook in cupcake molds). Having placed the ingredients (eggs, cream, grated cheese) in the cocotte makers, you need to pour water into the bowl so that it half covers the containers with the products. Then you need to program “Multi-cook Plus” into 2 stages: the first - 10 minutes and 100°, the second - 10 minutes and 140°.

Tasters' verdict. We prepared this dish twice and not because the test failed the first time, but, on the contrary, because we really liked the result. The number of ingredients and combination of steps in the recipe are calculated correctly. By the way, we don’t know how it is with cupcake molds, but the amount of ingredients indicated in the attached book fits perfectly into the cocotte maker.

Bread maker

We spent a lot of time testing the bread maker mode in the Polaris 1601D, since this is the “feature” of the model. Just like a regular bread machine, the Polaris 1601D performs all the stages itself: kneading, proofing, baking. The task of the equipment operator is to collect all the given ingredients in the required quantity and put them in the bowl in the specified sequence. There is a delayed start: the components for the test can be prepared in the evening, and the whole process will start closer to the morning. On average, the entire procedure, from the first kneading to the end of baking, takes 3.5 hours.

When calculating the time, it is also worth remembering that cutting the bread immediately after taking it out of the oven is not recommended. This violates its not yet fully formed structure: the number of voids, softness, elasticity, density. According to bakery technologies, loaves are stored open after baking for up to 12 hours, then packaged. There are no GOST standards in households and the rules are different, but it’s still worth waiting an hour after baking. It is best to place the bread to cool on a grill rack from the microwave, then the bottom of the loaf will also “breathe” and will not become soggy.

We prepared 4 types of bread using different programs: Italian bread with rosemary, onion bread, wheat bread with pumpkin seeds, Darnitsa bread. Programs differ in the time and speed of kneading, the number of kneading, the combination of kneading and proofing. According to our observations, bread made from wheat flour without adding dark flour (for example, rye) turns out better in this bread machine. Dark bread comes out quite heavy, not very well baked inside. The bread with the seeds was well baked, but the paddle in the bowl ground the pumpkin seeds into particles invisible to the tooth.

Additional ingredients must be placed in the mold after the second kneading - a sound signal indicates the onset of this time, but we did not find any information about this in the instructions or in the recipe book. In the Polaris 1601D bread machine mode, you can select the weight of the loaf (700 or 900 g) and the crust (3 levels). At the first level the crust is barely noticeable, but even at the third it is quite pale. That is, our experimental subject does not create the oven effect as convincingly as a regular bread maker. This is probably due to the power of the tubular encircling heating element and the distribution of heat throughout the volume of the internal space of the device.

During cooking, we made two typical mistakes of novice bakers: we forgot to remove the protective screen (the bread was damp on top and did not rise well) and we left the bread on the heater overnight (the bread was damp on the bottom).

Multicooker care

The inner bowl, bread pan and steam container can be placed in the dishwasher, this is clearly stated in the instructions. This is good news, because often with different models you have to guess about this by studying information on the Internet about the material of the bowl. The manual also warns that after some time after the start of use, the coating of the bowl may change color, and this is normal.

The steam valve can be easily removed and washed under running water. The protective screen (also known as the inner cover) snaps on and off easily. It's easiest to wash by hand, and the instructions don't mention putting it in the dishwasher.

But there are problems with the container for collecting condensate. It's easy to install on the back panel and easy to remove, but for some reason it doesn't do its job. At the end of the cooking process, we find that the container is empty and condensation is pouring from the lid. Reinstalling the container according to the manual and common sense does not save you from this bug.

Ease of management

Since the programs for the two functional parts of the model are different, it is worth describing them separately.

Multicooker mode

The multicooker has touch controls; the panel with the display is located on the front body. The display at the top shows the temperature and cooking time, as well as the cooking stage for the Multicook Plus program. The rest of the display is reserved for the list of programs; there are 19 of them, excluding “Multi-cook Plus” (there is a separate button for it). There is a color indicator for the power-on sensor with a single signal and a “Heat/Cancel” sensor indicator that lights up after cooking is complete.

The controls are intuitive, with the exception of programming the stages, all in the same “Multi-cook Plus” mode. The point here is not even the complexity of the interface, but the fact that the user’s actions go beyond the “autopilot” behavior, so it’s worth checking the instructions at least for the first time. The “Start/Cancel” button is protected from accidental clicks and children’s experiments: the sensor must be held for 2 seconds. However, as practice shows, it is children who are primarily interested in what will happen if they hold their finger on this button with a flashing light for a long time.

The following modes are available:

  • Multicook
  • Multicook Plus
  • Warming up
  • Double boiler
  • Frying
  • Yogurt
  • Extinguishing
  • Baking
  • Deep frying
  • Groats
  • Oatmeal
  • Paste
  • Languor
  • Sausages/dumplings
  • Cottage cheese
  • Pizza
  • Milk porridge

All programs have the ability to adjust time in different steps. There are no temperature compliance tables for automatic programs. The ability to change both the cooking time and temperature from automatic programs is given only by “Frying”; the primacy of the will of the owner over the technical mind is possible in the range from 100 to 160 degrees and from 10 to 40 minutes in 5-minute increments. In the “Multi-cook” and “Multi-cook Plus” programs, time adjustment is carried out in the range from 1 minute to 12 hours in increments of up to 45 minutes - 1 minute, from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours - 5 minutes, from 1.5 to 3 hours - 10 minutes, from 3 to 12 - 20 minutes.

The temperature changes as follows: general range - 35°-160°, 5° increments from 35° to 90°, 2° - from 90° to 110°, 10° - from 110° to 160°. For temperatures below 80°, switching to the “Heating” mode is not provided. The maximum number of stages in Multicook Plus is 9. The transition between stages is automatic. The number of the current stage is shown on the scoreboard.

Bread maker mode

When the bread pan is installed in the device, it automatically switches the interface to the “Bread Maker” mode. The display shows cooking time and temperature, loaf size, selected crust color (numbered 1 to 3) and a list of programs. In bread machine mode, the device has 12 automatic programs and a “Multi-cook bread” mode for independent programming of the stages of kneading, proofing and baking. After the program is turned off, the bread maker goes to heat up. There are separate buttons on the panel to select the crust and loaf size.

The following modes are available in this version:

  • Multicook bread
  • Sweet bread
  • Traditional bread
  • French bread
  • Whole white bread
  • Gluten free bread
  • Whole rye bread
  • Accelerated baking
  • Italian bread
  • Milk bread
  • Jam
  • Dough

All programs except “Multi-cook bread” are automatic and do not allow you to select the temperature and cooking time. There is a delayed start.

The interface in bread machine mode is even simpler than in multicooker mode. The most important thing is to follow the recipe and the sequence of placing the ingredients in the mold. After this, you need to select the size of the loaf and the color of the crust (by default, 900 grams and 2 are set, respectively) and select the desired program. The order of products for the test is indicated in the table of each recipe from the book. The instructions tell you about the basic principles of interaction with the future test and warn against the most common mistakes; it will be worth reading this section.

In bread machine mode, the appliance prepares jam. The user puts fruits or berries, water and sugar into a container according to the recipe, and the magic pan itself heats and stirs. Each bread machine has the same functionality, being equipped with a stirring blade and heating element.

Instructions and recipe book

The manual is quite good, although far from perfect. Items related to the interface, management skills, and cleaning methods are described in some detail. There is a summary table of programs for the “Multi-cooker” mode, indicating the range of parameter adjustment for each program. There is a table of the most common mistakes in making bread. But it’s a dry and difficult read, with blurry eyes, no interesting facts about the temperature limits of automatic programs and the material of the bowls, as usual, no pictures or conversations. However, it is recommended to study before using the multicooker for the first time.

The recipe book is large and beautiful. In fact, only the part that describes the preparation of different breads is useful. There are tables with the amount of ingredients per serving of 700 and 900 grams, the products are listed in the order in which they should be put. In the section with recipes for multicookers, there are many dishes with interesting names, which are mostly stewed meats.

When purchasing household appliances for the kitchen, many housewives have the problem of choosing among a large number of different appliances. Which is better: a bread maker or a multicooker - this is one of the questions, the answer to which will allow you to make the right choice.

What factors should you consider when choosing between these devices?

First of all, it is worth noting that each of them, despite its extensive functionality, has its own priority purpose, which is clear even from the name.

Thus, a bread maker is primarily aimed at baking bakery products, and a multicooker is aimed at preparing first and second courses. As for other functions, they can be considered as an additional bonus for equipment owners.

Bread machine capabilities

Depending on the model and cost, devices have a different set of programs (3 or more). Using the oven you can cook:

  • dough for various dishes (manti, pies, etc.);
  • bread, muffins, Easter cakes;
  • jam, preserves;
  • yogurt, baked milk.

An important advantage is that the stove works based on the oven principle, that is, its bowl does not have direct contact with the heating elements. This allows you to get evenly baked bread with a golden crust on top – the kind we are used to seeing on store shelves.

Another advantage is that to prepare a brick of bread you do not need to pre-knead the dough - just place the ingredients specified in the recipe into the device, and after a certain time, take out the finished product. At the same time, kneading the dough using this technique ensures that there are no lumps in it, which has a positive effect on the quality of baked goods.

Almost all bread machines have a useful option delayed start, which allows you to load the necessary ingredients into the device in the evening, and in the morning get a hot brick of fresh bread for breakfast.

A set of multicooker options

The scope of application of multicookers is more extensive. Using this kitchen device, you can do:

  • liquid dishes (soups, borscht, etc.);
  • porridge with water and milk;
  • fried foods;
  • stews;
  • steamed foods;
  • yogurt;
  • bread.

Most models have the function of maintaining the temperature of the finished dish and allow you to sterilize and pasteurize food. Delayed start allows you to cook or heat food at the appointed time.

Despite their greater functionality than ovens, multicookers are significantly inferior to them when baking baked goods.

First, you have to make the dough manually, which is less convenient, as it requires effort and time. Secondly, it will not be possible to end up with a loaf of bread with a light bottom and edges and a golden brown crust on top. The reason is that the bottom of the multicooker bowl is in contact with the heating element, so the temperature affects its contents differently. As a result, the bun may be unevenly baked, with the bottom portion becoming browned while the top portion remains pale.

Which device should you prefer?

As you can see, some of the options for the described items are similar, but despite this, they have completely different purposes.

It is impossible to say unequivocally that one type of technology is better or worse than another - it all depends on what is expected from the device.

A bread maker is a highly specialized device that allows you to produce high-quality flour products that require baking. A multicooker is a multifunctional thing, with a range of options that is significantly superior to stoves, but inferior to them in terms of preparing bread.

Therefore, the choice of device should be made based on what are its functions will be used most often. If it will be baking, then it is better to opt for a bread maker, and if you plan to prepare a variety of dishes, then you should buy a multicooker.

Manufacturers of kitchen appliances try to take into account the culinary preferences of a wide range of consumers. Lovers of healthy steamed food will be interested in a steamer, connoisseurs of crispy bread crust will be interested in a bread maker, and practical buyers who value the versatility of appliances can choose a multicooker.

Multicookers often have the function of making bread. But it’s fair to note that some models cannot replace a full-fledged bread machine, while others surpass it in baking quality. In this rating, we have collected the best models of multicookers that can bake bread. All of them received positive user feedback.

1st place – Polaris PMC 0517AD (4.8-6 thousand rubles)

This multicooker is old and has been on the market for over five years. But even such a long period of time does not do any harm - this model today is one of the highest quality, reliable, functional, and most importantly - affordable. And we use it every day in our reviews.

The device has specific advantages: there are the most necessary programs that are needed in cooking and there are no completely unnecessary ones. It has an excellent 5-liter bowl with a ceramic coating, and the multicooker itself operates silently and copes perfectly with any available recipe. It is very easy to clean, which is a key choice for many. In a review of multicookers with ceramic bowls, it took first place (the rating itself is available).

Considering the fact that this model is a bestseller and is very popular, you will find many interesting and proven recipes on the Internet, so the culinary possibilities with it will be quite wide. As for bread, it also turns out well, like any other baked goods. The bread maker here is quite good, otherwise we would not have included the device in 1st place in the rating.

Flaws: the quality is not perfect. Considering the price, it's foolish to expect impeccable quality. If you need an extremely reliable and unique device, then look towards the Korean-assembled model, which will cost 30-40 thousand rubles. For 5-6 thousand you get the Polaris PMC 0517AD model (made in China), so you shouldn’t expect anything supernatural.

When boiling for the first time, there may be a smell, so we recommend boiling the lemon and the smell should go away.

And yes, this is one of the best multi-cooker bread makers with flattering reviews.

Video review:

2nd place – Panasonic SR-TMH18LTW (7-10 thousand rubles)

No less good is the SR-TMH18LTW model from Panasonic. It is available in the widest price range. You can buy it for 7 thousand rubles from one seller and for 10 thousand from another. Therefore, be vigilant and choose the seller where the model is available for around 7 thousand rubles.

Now to the point. Characteristics:

  1. Power 670 W;
  2. Bowl volume 4.5 l;
  3. Teflon coating;
  4. 6 cooking programs (this is much less than usual, but quite enough for full-fledged cooking);
  5. Steam cooking. In the TOP of multicookers-steamers, the device is in second place (details).
  6. Timer, delayed start.

Panasonic SR-TMH18LTW is an exceptionally simple and intuitive multicooker with the most useful set of programs, including a bread cooking program. By the way, the baking turns out excellent - users write about this in their reviews. But other programs also work fine: frying, boiling, steaming.

Possible disadvantages:

  1. The bowl is easily scratched. And if you suddenly lose your vigilance and accidentally stir the potatoes with a metal spoon, you will almost certainly scratch the Teflon coating. Be sure to use silicone spatulas;
  2. The heating element may become dirty;
  3. The bowl absorbs odors and even extensive washing does not help;
  4. After cooking, the heating turns on automatically, and this sometimes causes great harm. For example, you set porridge to cook, come back, and it’s been just simmering on automatic heating for half an hour, which makes it overcooked;
  5. Cooking is slow;
  6. The timer does not apply to all programs. For some reason it doesn’t apply to baking.

Yes, there are shortcomings, but even despite them, the device is one of the best, because... copes perfectly with its direct task. Plus, it makes great bread. That's why he gets 2nd place.

3rd place – REDMOND RMC-M4502 (6.3-8.5 thousand rubles)

Another old model, which has also been on the market for more than 5 years and has been in demand and trusted by customers all this time.

Options:

  1. Power 860 W;
  2. Teflon bowl (5 liters);
  3. 3D Heating;
  4. Metal durable and reliable body;
  5. 16 cooking programs;
  6. Timer;
  7. “Multi-cook” function and the ability to manually configure programs.

In addition to being reliable and efficient in cooking, the device also copes well with bread. But, of course, to make bread you need to knead the dough, and during the cooking process the loaf will need to be turned over. This is the difference from a full-fledged bread machine. However, multicookers do not have a device for kneading dough (only bread machines have one).

But in general, the capabilities of this model are impressive - any dish, if the recipe is followed, turns out delicious.

The drawback, or rather the weak point, is the lid close button. Handle it carefully, because... at one point it may stop holding the lid (there are corresponding complaints). Of course, the service center will replace it, but it can still break. In any case, we recommend handling the device with care.

Also, the display is not backlit, there are no handles on the bowl, so you have to wait until it cools down, and only then can you take it out. There is cheap plastic on the body - a small thing, but it spoils the impression.

4th place – REDMOND RMC-M90 (6000 rubles)

Inexpensive, multifunctional and reliable model with 17 cooking programs, including baking. It has classic characteristics: standard power 860 W, ceramic bowl with handles with a capacity of 5 liters, 3D heating, multicooker and timer.

So in two sentences we talked about all the parameters of this model. One of the relevant advantages is the ease of washing. Because a bowl with handles, it can be easily removed (even when hot) and placed in the dishwasher (however, it is highly recommended not to wash ceramic-coated bowls in the dishwasher). There is never a “swamp” of broth on the sides, and there are no hard-to-reach places. And in our review of multicookers under 5,000 rubles, it took second place. See details.

The second advantage is the functionality - there are really a lot of different programs + a multivar. Even automatic heating can be turned off initially, which is rare. All available programs are really useful and, if you follow the recipe, the dishes turn out delicious. As for baking bread, there is nothing special here: there is such a mode, and it is not much different from baking in other models.

There is a smell after cooking (onions, cabbage), but after extensive washing it disappears and does not affect the next dish in any way. Also, the menu is not very convenient (it takes a long time to select the desired item), the kit comes with bad and hard plastic utensils, and they can damage the pot. We recommend purchasing silicone spatulas separately.

Verdict: The model is not bad, but it is not much different from hundreds of other multicookers. But because The device is well promoted, is in great demand and collects a lot of positive reviews, we put it in 4th place.

5th place – Panasonic SR-TMH10ATW (7 thousand rubles)

The size of this model immediately catches your eye. You can't see it in the photo, but this device is miniature.

It uses a 2.5-liter Teflon-coated bowl, the power is 490 W, 5 cooking programs are available, including baking, and there is also a delayed start function. And these are all the parameters.

Advantages: ease of use, presence of a container for collecting moisture, easy-to-clean bowl, low energy consumption, cooking efficiency, absence of unnecessary programs that increase cost. A dubious advantage is the small bowl capacity and high power. As a result, the speed of cooking greatly increases.
