DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV multiplexes in Moscow

Multiplex (English multiplex - mixture, mixed) is a digital combined package of TV channels in digital broadcasting. TV channels are mixed before being transmitted over a transport channel, followed by separation on a subscriber's receiver or television with a built-in digital tuner.

Definitions of multiplex

There are two similar, but nevertheless not identical, interpretations of multiplex in digital TV:

In digital terrestrial television DVB-T2 Moscow and Mo - transmission over the same frequency band of several SD, HD TV channels generated by different signal sources. Plus, the multiplex can even include radio channels, subtitles, teletext and a TV guide.

The first multiplex of digital terrestrial TV DVB-T2 in Moscow (RTRS-1) is a package of publicly accessible digital channels and radio channels of digital television, the list of which was approved on June 24, 2009 by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 715 “On all-Russian mandatory public television channels and radio channels”
March 3, 2012 According to the Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 287-r, starting from 2012, digital broadcasting of the first multiplex in Moscow is carried out in the new DVB-T2 standard. TV channels of the first multiplex in Moscow are broadcast in SDTV format.

The first on-air multiplex is broadcast in open (free) access for reception (FTA), in the first DVB-T2 multiplex the conditional access system is not used. For non-terrestrial commercial television broadcasting, the concept of the first multiplex is not directly defined; all television channels are publicly available and mandatory. Subscribers of various paid networks (cable, satellite and IP television) throughout the Russian Federation can receive free TV channels that are included in the first multiplex, without resorting to means of receiving digital DVB-T2 television.

The first digital television multiplex in Russia includes 10 TV channels and 3 radio channels

DVB-T2 digital TV channels of the first multiplex can be received in Moscow and Moscow Region under one of two conditions:

The second multiplex of digital terrestrial DVB-T2 television of the Russian Federation “RTRS-2” is a package of all-Russian digital television channels in Moscow, which was formed as a result of a number of competitions of the Federal Commission on Television and Radio Broadcasting.

By the decision of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies on December 15, 2009, the frequency-territorial plan of the second multiplex for digital DVB-T2 broadcasting in the range 470-862 MHz was approved in the Russian Federation. The network of the second digital multiplex covers border regions, regions of the Far East, as well as large populated centers of Russia with a population of 100 thousand inhabitants or more. Unlike the first digital multiplex, the second one was initially launched in the new DVB-T2 standard. Broadcast format - standard definition (SDTV).

The second digital on-air multiplex is also open and free for reception (FTA), the signal encryption system is not used. After amendments were made to the law of the Russian Federation “On the Mass Media,” the television channels of the second multiplex Dvb-t2 received the status of publicly available. TV channels of the second DVB-T2 multiplex became mandatory for broadcast by various television broadcasting operators in an unchanged form at their own expense, and paid operators (cable, satellite, IP television) were able to receive TV channels included in the second multiplex for free in Moscow and the cities of the Moscow region.

Digital TV channels DVB-T2 of the second multiplex in Moscow can be received in Moscow and Moscow Region under one of two conditions:

The third multiplex of digital terrestrial DVB-T2 TV - federal-regional package of digital TV channels

According to the principles approved at the meeting of the Government Commission for the Development of Television and Radio Broadcasting, the third digital terrestrial DVB-T2 multiplex in Moscow is formed from the following TV channels:

Broadcasting digital terrestrial television of the DVB-T2 standard covers almost the entire territory of the Russian Federation. As we already know, you can check the availability of airwaves on the map. If broadcasting is carried out in a given region, then for reception you will only need subscriber equipment of the required standard, in our case - DVB-T2.

But the following may happen. You bought reception equipment (or already had it), but you can’t set up digital terrestrial channels. What could it be problem? The most common are:

The antenna is not intended for receiving digital terrestrial television (does not receive the UHF range);
Your hardware software is not up to date;
The equipment does not support the DVB-T2 standard.

Not all antennas are capable of receiving digital terrestrial television signals. Most often, people who connect their equipment to their home antenna encounter a lack of signal. There is no way to guess whether this antenna supports UHF reception. You need to call the organization servicing the house and find out. You can immediately buy an antenna and enjoy digital television reception. Let us remind you that there are no There are no special antennas for digital TV . If you are close to the transmitting equipment, then you can.

If your equipment has outdated software, it may also not receive a digital terrestrial television signal. This problem can be solved either by reflashing the device yourself, or by taking the device to a service center.

If you decide to update the software of your device yourself, then download the firmware from the manufacturer’s official websites.

Well, of course, if your equipment does not support the DVB-T2 standard, it will not receive the signal.

Also, even with the correct equipment settings, the image may “scatter into squares.” Most often this is due to a low-power antenna or a large distance from the transmitting station. In this case, a more powerful UHF antenna will help you.

When setting up the equipment, point the antenna to the side and turn it to the maximum value of the “quality” scale on the set-top box/TV.

The table shows the channels that can be received from the Ostankino TV tower in Moscow and the Moscow region. The list is divided into two groups - digital DVB-T2 and terrestrial analogue. Operating frequencies, numbers, characteristics are indicated. All federal channels are broadcast free of charge. Coded or paid services are not yet provided. Digital program packages are distributed among multiplexes, each with 10 channels, 20 are already running as normal, and the third multiplex is being tested. First and Russia 1 come in high definition HD quality. Breaks in broadcasting are regulated by the prevention schedule. Search and configuration are possible in automatic or manual mode. Most apartment buildings have cable television, and in the general list you will only find the list provided by the operator. In this case, for reception, you will need an external or internal independent antenna.

"About the media"

Distribution of specialized radio and television programs of an erotic nature without signal coding is permitted only from 23:00 to 4:00 local time, unless otherwise established by the local administration.

For the purposes of this Law, a mass media specializing in messages and materials of an erotic nature means a periodical publication or program that generally and systematically exploits interest in sex.

Retail sales of media products specializing in messages and materials of an erotic nature are permitted only in sealed transparent packaging and in specially designated premises, the location of which is determined by the local administration.

The installation of a TV antenna, available to all TV viewers, allows you to receive digital television in Moscow; broadcasting is carried out in the dvb-t2 standard. The analogue broadcast system is becoming a thing of the past and will be completely switched off in the near future. The reason for this is the improvement of radio frequency technologies. If previously no more than 18 programs were broadcast from the Ostankino tower, then in 2016 there are already 30. The channels operate digitally and are grouped in groups of 10 on one frequency, this package is called “Multiplex”.

  1. First multiplex Ostankino TVK 30, frequency 546 MHz
  2. Second multiplex Ostankino TVK 24, frequency 498 MHz
  3. Test third multiplex Ostankino TVK 34, frequency 578 MHz

For local repeaters, broadcast parameters may differ. The Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation provides for the widespread launch of twenty federal, free channels. You will find towers under construction and operating in the Moscow region in the right block of the current page.

Reception of digital television in Moscow is possible on any television, with the difference that for older models you will need a dvb-t2 receiver. This is a small set-top box with a separate remote control through which it is controlled. The signal from the antenna is supplied to the receiver, and you can connect it to the TV using a “tulips” or “skart” cord. How to set up the receiver is described in the user manual. In new types of flat TV panels, the tuner is already built-in, look for dvb-t2 in the specifications and try to find digital channels. If it doesn’t work, check the cable connection and find out if you have regular cable TV in your home.

The main part of the equipment set is the antenna; the quality of terrestrial television reception depends on its power. For Moscow, an antenna with medium gain is usually sufficient. In some cases, a more powerful option is required. This happens when a country cottage, private house or cottage is located in a lowland and surrounded by tall trees. The distance to the tower also plays an important role. Installation is desirable in the highest part of the house; installation is carried out on a small bracket or steel mast. The price of the work will vary depending on the complexity; the exact cost is calculated by the master according to the standard price list, taking into account current discounts and promotions. The connection is made to the existing cabling using an amplifier and dividers. The master can arrive the very next day after receiving the order.

How to watch DVB-T2 digital television for free?

The main task is that you need a regular decimeter antenna aimed at Moscow, and not a house antenna. This could be a regular antenna cable. If the cable does not pick up a signal, you can buy a UHF antenna - there are many different ones and the price ranges from 300 to 1000 rubles.

If your TV does not support DVB-T2, you can buy an external tuner. It connects to any TV and costs around 1000 rubles.

In order to watch both analog and digital channels, you will need a signal mixer - the video has one.
