Firmware for Nokia 5530 40.0 003 changes. Preparing the phone for firmware

Many requests and comments were left about improving the firmware. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to figure out the firmware change myself (I’m rarely at home), but today I discovered a new firmware modification for the Nokia 5530, codenamed Simple Mod v.1.0 by Wayfer. By the way, it is Wayfer who is developing a program for independently changing firmware for the 5530, the release of which is just around the corner (although it was promised earlier). Less words - look under the cat.

There were some problems with the development of the program, the program is being rewritten, so we are encountering firmware that, I hope, will suit more people.

Simple Mod is a standard firmware with improved performance with virtually no visual changes.

Changes in this version:

  • Hacking protection (Russian RomPatcher; patches: Install Server, Open 4 All, Mega Bass, Charger Notes OFF, Record Tone OFF, Reset On Power Long; in Install Server and Open 4 All startup)
  • Extended caps for Java and SIS
  • Removed OVI Contacts
  • Removed unnecessary programs from startup
  • Quick Theme Effects
  • Russian smartphone language by default
  • Help files removed

  • Removed space for FOTA
  • Screen rotation has been accelerated
  • Alarm snooze 5 minutes
  • Message settings (999 messages, on E:\)
  • Reducing photo compression
  • Russian language for standard dictionary
  • Changed memory threshold settings
  • Increased productivity
  • Disabled caching of the Camera application in RAM
  • Protection has been removed from SIS transfer via a standard file manager
  • Changed system cache settings
  • Changed web address suffixes
  • Widget requests disabled

Firmware instructions

  1. Download the firmware and install it on your computer
  2. We move the modified files that were downloaded earlier (link above) to the folder in which the firmware is installed (by default C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-504), agreeing to replace the files
  3. download the program for JAF firmware (there are also instructions and reviews).
  4. Connecting the phone in PC Suite mode
  5. After installation, run the JAF program from the desktop, ignoring the message BOX DRIVER NOT INSTALLED, it won't bother us.
  6. Go to the BB5 tab, click the Use INI checkbox, after which our window will fly out, where we select the model of our phone. Ok, uncheck CRT 308 and set it to: Manual Flash, Dead USB, Factory Set.
  7. Turn off the phone without disconnecting it. Click in the Flash program, agree with the error and briefly press the Power button on the phone to turn it on. Then the program will do everything for you. After a few minutes you will receive a new phone.

The PNHT team, as promised, has released the Nokia C6 firmware version ported to 5800\5530.
The firmware process itself is standard and there is nothing new in it, we use jaf.
The firmware really worked and I want to note that it works much faster than the native one. I can’t say anything about stability yet, time will tell.
True, after flashing the firmware, I didn’t find the usual list of messages in the messages folder; they are no longer grouped into a hidden list. The system update message also did not produce results.
But now I have a fast phone; before I had to achieve speed by installing SPB mobile Shell.

As you can see from the screenshot above, desktop widgets also work; they are installed from the ovi store, just like the N97. By the way, the ovi store also did not work, the problem was solved by re-downloading this application through a standard browser.
By default, the accelerometer and theme effects are disabled, they are turned on through the menu, the qwerty keyboard turns on automatically when you rotate the screen (the first time you had to select it manually). QuickOffice, adobe pdf le, zip integrated.
Well, the first impression was positive; installing this firmware version “revived” the phone.

firmware with Russian and English for 5530
firmware with Russian and English for 5800
I warn you right away: I choose the best firmware in my personal opinion for the 5530.

I won’t describe the firmware instructions for a long time, you can use the manual and download everything you need
for Nokia 5530 for Nokia 5800. Namely, you need instructions for flashing JAF.
Note: if you do not have folders...\Phoenix\... you need to create them. For users of 64-bit Windows, it is better to duplicate it in Programm files and Programm files(86).

This post is dedicated to owners of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic core phone - v40 C6V41. Everyone has encountered the fact that the phone is slow and glitchy. Here I'm talking about firmware that will speed it up, but the load will remain the same. It's called Symbian^3 Accelerated FIX 2012.

After the firmware everything will look something like this:

PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS!

Let's get down to business.

Preparing the phone for firmware

1) Charge the phone to maximum.
2) Format the flash drive through the “File Manager”.
3) Remove all programs and utilities from Nokia.
4) Turn off the antivirus, it will interfere.

Install the necessary software

1) Download JAF1.98.62 (http://sensornokia.ru/download/pnht/JAF_1.98.62.zip) and put it in the default folder C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\ODEON\JAF or in C:\Program Files\ODEON \JAF.
2) Download JAF 2.0 TEST (http://sensornokia.ru/download/pnht/JAF_2.0.test.zip), install it in the same folder as JAF1.98.62.
3) Download the archive (http://sensornokia.ru/download/pnht/jaf_nok4models.zip) and unpack it into the folder with JAF.
4) Download Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver (http://sensornokia.ru/download/jaf/Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver_rus.zip) and install.
5) Turn off the phone, remove the battery for 5 seconds, and insert it back.
6) Right-click on “My Computer” and open Device Manager.
7) Connect the phone to the computer via USB (leave the phone turned off).
8) Hold down the power button on the phone for a couple of seconds so that 2 new devices appear in the manager, repeat 6 times.

9) Reboot the computer, do not turn on the phone.

Firmware

1) Download the Symbian^3 firmware itself (http://bit.ly/HCglA2)
2) Unpack to C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-504
If you don't find these folders, create them.
3) Launch “Start JAF” from the desktop. If you have Windows 7, then you need to run it in compatibility mode.

4) Put something like a checkmark in the Random PKEY Thomas SN field and press the “Start” button.
5) In the window that opens, select the “BB5” tab, uncheck CRT 308, check Manual Flash, Dead USB, Factory Set:

6) Click Use INI, in the window that opens, select our smartphone: RM-504 Nokia 5530C-2, and click OK.

7) If everything is done correctly, then here is the result:

8) You can’t make any more mistakes! Drag RM-504_32.0.007.C00 onto the MCU light bulb. In the menu that appears, select MCU File, and the light will light up. Next, file RM-504_32.0.007_prd.rofs2.V20 for the PPM light, select PPM File, the PPM light is on.

9) Press the FLASH button

10) Click “Yes”, after a short wait the following lines will appear: “PRESS POWER ON NOW! Searching for phone..."

11) Press the power key for a short time (the phone should not turn on), it will write that the phone has been found and the firmware will begin. If the phone is not found, repeat everything from step 8.

12) The firmware will be completed with lines like this:
Setting test mode...
Setting FULL FACTORY...
Operation took 0 minutes 7 seconds...
Done!
Done!
We wait until the phone turns on by itself. Disconnect it from the computer. If the language is not Russian, then enable the desired one in the settings.
13) The most important point. Enjoy the firmware!
