The Android operating system does not have a fully integrated solution for blocking unwanted calls and SMS. Fortunately, there are many ways to block unwanted calls and get rid of people who are trying to sell you something or people with whom you do not want to communicate.

Some manufacturers add a blacklist feature to their smartphones. For example, some Samsung phones include this feature. To use this feature go to Settings > Calls > Call mute > Blacklist, then enter the number or select from the contact list, and you can also block all calls from unknown numbers.

If your smartphone does not have an integrated blacklist function, you can use third-party applications. Read about one of them below.

1. Interface of the “Black List” application

The application interface is very simple and clear. In the upper left corner there is a switch to disable and enable the “black list”, in the upper right corner there is an icon that opens the application settings, below there are two tabs “Black List” and “Journal”. While in the “Black List” tab, we see a plus icon that allows you to block a contact. The “Log” tab displays a list of blocked calls and messages; by clicking on the trash can, you can clear the list.

While in the black list tab, click on the plus icon, a menu for adding contacts to the black list will appear. You can add a contact manually or from your calls, contacts, or messages list.

3. Blacklist application settings

There are not many settings in the application. In the settings, you can set to block hidden numbers, block all numbers except contacts from the phone book, or block all numbers altogether. The same applies to SMS.

When you often receive calls from an unfamiliar number or you simply do not want to receive calls from a certain subscriber, you can block an incoming call not only through your mobile operator, but also on your Android device. This is easy to do by following the simple instructions in this article.

Go to the phone app on your Android device. Click the green icon labeled “Phone” in the quick access menu or the regular menu of the device.

All available tabs and control settings will open in front of you. Click on the three lines on the right in the very top corner.

In the pop-up window, select the “Call Settings” line.

You will be taken to the call management settings field, you need to find the “Call Rejection” line and click on it.

Select the part of the unwanted caller's phone number that you remember. For example, if you are sure that his number ends with the numbers “879,” then select the “Ends with” field, and write down these three digits in the number entry line. Now a user whose phone number ends with these three digits will not be able to call you, but please note that completely unrelated subscribers with the same number ending will not be able to reach you either.

Return to the call settings menu to set the reject message. This is an SMS notification that the subscriber will receive if the call is rejected. Select the “Rejection Message” field.

Choose a message from a template or create your own. To do this, click on the plus icon at the top right.

Enter your message and click on the “Save” button.

Now your option is also displayed in the templates, click on it to set this option. You can delete templates by clicking on the trash can icon at the top right of your device screen.

Blocking unwanted users is necessary when a person begins to annoy you or regularly calls at inopportune times. If these calls continue, you can contact your mobile operator and permanently block calls to this number from your phone.
