Everyone knows that if a mobile phone is stolen or lost, the SIM must be blocked immediately. This must be done quickly so that criminals cannot get their hands on your accounts. However, if you plan to disable the SIM card only for a certain time, you can use the option to temporarily disable the number. Today, any, even the smallest Russian television system (for example, Letai and Motiv), offers users a similar service. From our review you will learn how to block a SIM card of any Russian television system temporarily or completely.

How to block a SIM card if you lost your phone?

To prevent thieves from taking advantage of your assets, if you lose your cell phone, you need to immediately block your SIM card. This can be done at the nearest branch of your mobile provider. When going to the provider’s branch, do not forget to take your passport and paper contract (if you have one) with you.

Important! If completely turned off, the lost SIM card cannot be recovered.

To save yourself from unauthorized withdrawal of money from your account, you can use any of the five methods presented. The card can be blocked temporarily or permanently. Someone else's SIM card can be disabled only if the authorized person has copies of the plaintiff's documents and a notarized letter signed by the card owner.

So, you can turn off the SIM card:

  • through a call to the service number of a mobile operator;
  • in a cellular office;
  • via voice assistant;
  • by sending a system request;
  • in your Personal Account.

Attention! To temporarily suspend the operation of a SIM card, almost all of the above methods are suitable. Complete deactivation of the package can only be done at the official branch of the provider.

All Russian television systems allow you to block a SIM card by calling a toll-free customer support number. However, before calling customer service, prepare your passport in advance and remember the password word you created when registering on the network. According to the laws of Russian television systems, any operations with a subscriber account and SIM can be performed only with the consent of the direct owner:

Helpline numbers:

  • MTS–0890 (for mobile); 88002500890 (for any devices); +74957660166 (for roaming);
  • MegaFon – 0500 (for mobile phones); 88005500500 (for various devices); +79261110500 (for roaming);
  • Beeline – 0611 (for mobile phones); 88007000611 (for any directions);
  • Tele2 – 611 (single tel.); 84959797611 (for various operators);
  • Iota – 88005500007;
  • Motive – 111 (in the provider’s network); 8 800-240-0000 (for various directions);
  • Fly - 8432222222 (single tel.); +7 902 718-22-68 (Whatsapp).

Through the office

The SIM card can be turned off at the operator's service department. To do this, you must have your passport and a paper contract (if you have one). When you contact any communication salon (be it MTS, Beeline, etc.), you are guaranteed to receive quality assistance.

Blocking a SIM card through the specified service is available only from the MTS operator. Through the service you can order the “Voluntary blocking” service. After turning it on, the SIM card becomes inactive, the accrual and debiting of the subscription fee is suspended.

Enabling and disabling the option is free. In addition, for the first two weeks, there is no charge for using the service. In the future, you will need to pay 1 ruble per day for the option. The entire amount will be debited from the subscriber’s balance as soon as he turns on his SIM.

  • to activate the service, dial 1116 on your mobile phone and then follow the prompts;
  • You can remove the restriction through your personal account, office center, or by calling MTS technical support.

This blocking is done over the phone, so it will not be effective if the mobile device is stolen. Only two television systems provide this option, MTS and Megafon.

  • To turn off the MTS card, send the digital command * 111 * 157 # from your mobile phone. You can remove the restriction in the service department of the provider, in your personal account or through a call to the Call center;
  • You can disable the SIM on Megafon by sending an SMS to 0500. The SMS must contain the following text: “please turn off (reason for shutdown), (SIM card number), full name, subscriber’s passport details.” Reactivation is carried out using the services described above.

You can block Sim on the official website of the operator itself. However, this method of turning off SIM cards online (via the Internet) is only suitable for users registered on the network.

The blocking algorithm will be identical for all mobile operators:

  • Log in to your profile and press the “Block” button (located in the lower corner of the main page). If there is no such button, press the “Settings” key and then select the “Lock” key;
  • then select “Voluntary blocking” and confirm your action.

You can re-enable the SIM card using any of the above methods.

Now we have to find out what Velcom USSD requests exist. This mobile operator offers a lot of different commands that allow you to receive this or that information about the SIM card, as well as enable/disable certain functions. In general, USSD requests on Velcom are available in huge quantities. But we will consider only the most useful and popular of them. Maybe they will help you solve this or that problem more than once.

What it is

But first, let’s find out what our current needs are? Knowing this, you can understand whether you need them or not. Maybe you can do without them completely? USSD requests from Velcom, like any cellular operator, are nothing more than a means of subscriber self-service.

With their help, you can control your phone balance, check and change the tariff plan on your SIM card, perform various functions, as well as disable and activate certain services and options. The main advantage of such combinations is that they are free and can be activated at any time of the day or night. The main thing is to know what exactly you need.

Balance

Perhaps it’s worth starting with the main function - this is a USSD balance request and all the commands that will help you control the funds in your SIM card account. There are not so many of them, but there are some special ones among them.

For example, a balance request is made using the combination *100#. At the end of each dialing you need to press the "Call" button. In response, you receive a message about the status of your SIM card account, and the result is displayed directly on the screen.

Velcom USSD requests allow you to easily change the tariff payment system. To work without prepayment, you need to dial *145#. If you want to register some unconfirmed request, then *141*1# will help here. Basically, these are all useful commands for managing your account. We continue to study Velcom USSD requests further.

Rates

It's no secret that using these commands, any subscriber can change their tariff plan. Each offer has its own combination. You can find out complete information about this on the operator’s official website. After all, Velcom has many tariffs. It would take a very long time to list all the USSD commands for connecting them. So please check with your operator at this time.

Instead, we will try to learn universal USSD requests from Velcom. The tariff plan you are currently connected to can be found out using *141*2*1#. In addition, the subscriber can receive his phone number by dialing *147#. Information about the Internet tariff plan is displayed after dialing *141*2*3*1#. Everything is easy and simple. In some cases, you receive an SMS message with all the information you requested, but often the data is displayed directly on the phone display.

Additional services

Now a little about the interesting capabilities of our today's operator. Velcom also has its own USSD requests for them. “Favorite number”, for example, is added using *141*3*3#. After this, you can add this or that subscriber to the appropriate list.

Additionally, note that you can also enable some interesting and useful features using our commands today. For example, you can connect the Internet, MMS, and security to your phone with one single request. With its help, you will also receive all the information about the mobile Internet that is available on the SIM card. To do this, dial *135# on your mobile phone and send a request for processing.

Sometimes you want to talk while roaming. Velcom USSD requests allow all subscribers to quickly connect to similar services. "Roaming" (international) is activated using *141*3*2*1#, and "International calls" can be activated by dialing *141*3*1*1#. It turns out that without outside interference, at any time, everyone is able to activate the services of profitable calls on a mobile phone abroad.

Services

Don’t forget that Velcom USSD requests have one more feature. And it applies not only to this operator, but to everyone in general. These commands make it possible to enable/disable certain additional service packages and services. What can help us when communicating?

Let's say the "500 SMS" option package. To do this, you must type *119# from your phone. Please note that the request itself is free. But to connect this or that option you will have to pay according to the tariff. All available settings (Internet and MMS are included here) are received after sending *135*0#, and “Mobile Internet” is activated by the command *135*1#. As you can see, there is nothing difficult about this.

It is also worth paying attention to somewhat non-standard services. Velcom offers its clients a service. Oddly enough, it connects without problems using the USSD request *200*2#. "Melofon" is another service that subscribers often pay attention to. And it is activated through the combination *424#. In principle, these are all quite popular services that you can connect to.

Help and inquiries

The last point we will consider is sending “homeless people”, as well as receiving reference information on the SIM card. "Velcom" allows you to do all this using certain USSD commands.

So, for example, anyone can request a call back (send a “homeless person”) for free. Dial *131*friend's number# and send the command for processing. Another Velcom subscriber will receive a free message from you asking you to call back. Sometimes this feature is very useful.

The balance of free SMS, MMS, minutes and Internet traffic also has to be checked from time to time. In this situation, another self-service command will help. It looks like *100*1#. If you want to know the entire list of paid services connected to a mobile number, contact *141*2*2#.

Do not forget that the full list of USSD commands from Velcom is quite diverse. Sometimes you want to quickly scan through it and select the self-service feature you want. Anyone can do this very easily and simply. What does that require? Just submit a special request for processing. It looks like *141*9*1#. In response, you will receive an SMS message in which all available commands will be published. Unless this does not include requests to change the tariff plan (for a specific offer).

As you can see, Velcom USSD commands are varied. And with their help you can fully control the functionality of the SIM card. Don't be afraid to experiment. Remember that when you connect to a particular service, you will be charged a fee in the amount established by the tariff. All reference information is free.

SIM card

SIM card provides all functions of user identification in the network, subscriber authentication SIM card provides all functions of user identification in the network, subscriber authentication SIM card

SIM card is a subscriber identification module that provides the subscriber with access to the operator’s communication services and is a necessary element of any GSM, UMTS, etc. phone

A SIM card is a miniature plastic card with a chip on which all the necessary data related to the subscriber’s powers and the communication services provided to him is recorded.

Each SIM card has its own personal international identification number IMSI.

IMSI(International Mobile Subscriber Identification) is unique for each SIM card, contains 19 characters. When registering on the network, the mobile terminal transmits the IMSI to the switch, and the subscriber’s authenticity is determined using this identifier.

Main function of SIM card:

· identification of the subscriber in the operator’s network. It serves as the key to the provision of all services;

· subscriber authentication. It is carried out using an individual authentication key (Ki) and an authentication algorithm (A3) stored on the SIM card;

· communication with the base station..

A SIM card is issued to the subscriber upon concluding an agreement with a cellular operator. Serial number of the issued SIM card is indicated in the registration form and other documents (invoice, additional agreement). The serial number consists of 19 digits, which are indicated on the SIM card itself.

The SIM card may contain special programs - additional applications that are installed during manufacture, for example - STK - menu.

The SIM card can be used with any model of mobile terminal standard GSM, UMTS, the subscriber's telephone number remains unchanged.

If a SIM card is lost, the subscriber must notify the operator, the lost SIM card is blocked, and the subscriber is issued a new card, usually this service is paid. The subscriber number, personal account balance and all connected services remain unchanged.

The SIM card can also store additional information, for example, a list of subscriber contacts, SMS texts, fixed dial numbers.

In order to gain access to the SIM card, you must:

  1. Install a SIM card into your mobile device.
  2. Turn on your mobile device.
  3. Enter PIN1 code and confirm - click OK. If after a few seconds the operator’s designation (alphabetic or numeric) appears on the display of your mobile device, it means that the SIM card has registered in the network and is ready for use.

The following options for alphabetic and digital designation of the velcom operator are possible:

· VELCOM

· VELCOM - BY

· VELCOM – 01

  • 257 - 01 (network code of velcom operator)

Information about PIN/PUK codes

To protect against unauthorized use of the subscriber's phone, when a SIM card is issued, it is assigned 2 pairs of codes: PIN1/PUK1 and PIN2/PUK2.

PIN1(Personal Identification Number 1) - personal identification code 1, which protects the SIM card from unauthorized use, consists initially of 4 digits.

If the SIM card is not installed in the phone, or if the correct PIN1 code is not entered, the phone cannot make any calls on the cellular network, with the exception of emergency calls (number 112).

PIN1 code can be changed and any combination can be selected from 4 to 8 digits. Through the telephone menu, you can cancel the request for entering a PIN1 code when turning on.

Attention!

After 3 consecutive attempts to enter the PIN1 code incorrectly, the SIM card will partially blocked. To unlock the PIN1 code, you must enter the PUK1 code through the telephone menu or by pressing a special key combination (see the instructions for using the telephone).

PUK1(Personal Unblocking Key) - personal unlock code 1, consists of 8 digits and is used to unlock PIN1. PUK1 cannot be changed.

To unlock your Motorola/Sagem phone, you must first dial **05* before entering the PUK1 code.

Attention!

After 10 consecutive attempts to enter the PUK1 code incorrectly, the SIM card will completely blocked. In this case, the subscriber must personally contact the CPiO or official attorneys (deputies) to purchase a new SIM card (for a fee), while the contract, subscriber’s phone number, personal account balance and all connected services remain unchanged.

PIN2(Personal Identification Number 2) - personal identification code 2, contains 4 digits. Required to access some additional functions that are available in the telephone menu (for example, setting/removing fixed dialing). After 3 consecutive attempts to enter an incorrect PIN2, access to the specified functions is temporarily blocked.

To unlock PIN2, you must enter PUK2 through the telephone menu or by pressing a special key combination (see the instructions for using the telephone). After 10 consecutive attempts to enter PUK2 incorrectly, access to some additional functions of the mobile phone is blocked; in most cases, replacing the SIM card is not required if the subscriber does not need access to these functions.

When registering a client connection, as well as when providing the “SIM Card Replacement” service, an employee of the attorney (deputy) is obliged to convey to the client information about PIN/PUK codes, as well as the rules for unlocking PIN codes (see Appendix 1, memo on PIN/PUK codes).

When loss of information about PIN/PUK codes, the subscriber can restore it in one of the following ways:

§ call the velcom reference and information service and tell the operator the Access Code (see Subscriber Dictionary),

§ through the Internet subscriber service service (ISSA), provided that this service is activated,

§ upon application to the Central Administrative Center or from official attorneys (deputies).

Mobile terminal

Mobile terminal- This is a transceiver and encoder device.

Each mobile terminal has its own unique number IMEI(International Mobile Equipment Identify) - an electronic number that is assigned during the production of the device and consists of 15 digits. It allows the switch to identify the mobile device every time it contacts the base station (for example, when you turn on your phone).

IMEI can be clarified:

  • typing a key combination on your cell phone *#06# .
  • on the packaging above/below the barcode;
  • on the phone under the battery;

When selling equipment (mobile phone, modem), an employee of the attorney (deputy) is obliged to check the compliance of the IMEI number of the mobile phone with the one indicated on the box, under the battery cover and stitched into the phone itself. When checking, the IMEI must match and be the same. Next, the IMEI of the equipment is indicated in the documents drawn up during the sale (in the acceptance certificate, additional agreement, warranty card, specification).

Some telephones have a factory-installed security code that allows you to protect the phone from unauthorized use, and also allows you to reset existing subscriber-set telephone settings to the factory settings. The telephone security code is provided by the manufacturer and is indicated in the instructions for the telephone set (see Appendix 1, TA Security Codes)
