The teXet trademark belongs to the Alkotel Electronic Systems company, which has 27 years of experience as a developer and manufacturer in the Russian telecommunications market. Producing high-tech devices, Alkotel uses innovative techniques, places high demands on the quality of products and offers the best prices.

2004 is the year the teXet brand was created. Since then, corporate identity, modern technology, price attractiveness and reliability are fundamental aspects of the company's policy. CJSC Electronic Systems Alkotel is constantly expanding its product portfolio and introducing new product categories to the market. Having started with the production of telephone equipment, today the teXet brand is represented in eleven directions:

  • Tablet computers
  • Smartphones
  • Smart watch X-Watch
  • Cell phones
  • Portable audio
  • Autoelectronics
  • E-books
  • Phones for home and office
  • Home video surveillance
  • digital photoframes
  • Accessories

The multi-product basket is an advantageous feature of the company that sets Alkotel Electronic Systems apart from its competitors. Product leadership is confirmed by market statistics. At the end of the anniversary year 2014, teXet entered the TOP 5 tablet suppliers in Russia (data from the international analytical agency IDC), and also took leading positions in product categories: e-books (Russian market share 18%), MP3 players (27%), digital photo frames (51%).

Headquarters of ZAO Electronic Systems Alkotel, St. Petersburg

The main and defining feature of the company is the continuous improvement of the quality system. teXet cooperates on a contract basis only with the best factories, choosing as partners the largest manufacturers who manufacture equipment for Western Europe and the USA. At the stage of development and preparation for mass production, each new product goes through a full customization cycle (from writing special software to preparing product design and packaging). In accordance with international standards, all devices are subject to strict inspections and tests during the development stage at the Alkotel production site in St. Petersburg. After introducing a product to the market, the company does not stop improving it. Our own service department monitors customer requests on a daily basis and regularly updates software for released devices. Alkotel is one of the few Russian companies that pays increased attention to quality control and provides users with full service support.

CJSC Electronic Systems Alkotel has a developed distribution system - partnership agreements have been signed with federal networks: Euroset, M.Video, the DNS Digital Supermarket network, Eldorado, Yulmart, Tekhnosila, Svyaznoy. In addition, teXet products have official representatives in the CIS countries (Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan). In 2012, the company launched a project to create its own mono-brand network; the first teXet brand stores have already been opened in St. Petersburg, and are planned in other cities with a population of over a million.

Bringing the Best Together - Offering the Best Together is the brand's motto, which is brought to life by a close-knit team of teXet professionals. By implementing new projects and ideas every day, the company’s specialists strive to ensure that users receive maximum comfort from teXet products.

Have you heard that there is a TEXET mobile phone? That's right, there is a trademark operating in Russia, offering electronic equipment under this brand. And no, we are not talking about yet another Chinese developer offering their copy of the iPhone at an affordable price. This is a completely independent manufacturer that has already managed to realize itself in the market, which has 27 years of experience in interacting with domestic buyers. And yes, this company is of Russian origin.

And although, as we have already mentioned, products under this brand include tablet computers and e-readers (which you may have even heard of), the attention in today’s review will be focused mainly on what a mobile phone is TEXET.

Positioning

I would like to immediately note that TEXET is clearly not participating in the technology race, which is also going on between Chinese manufacturers. This can be judged by the characteristics that are indicated in smartphones. Take, for example, the TEXET TM 5007 mobile phone. On the company’s website store it is designated as New (a product that went on sale relatively recently). However, its parameters indicate that the device was clearly late in its appearance on the market. This is clearly demonstrated by a screen with a resolution of 540 by 960 pixels (despite the fact that some Chinese developers have long been supplying their devices with Full HD quality displays) or the amount of RAM of 512 MB. Such characteristics indicate that such a device will not be able to run any modern game or program. Moreover, the performance of the smartphone as a whole will noticeably suffer (the resources are simply not enough even to smoothly expand the Android menu).

The lineup

The catalog of the TEXET online store presents all the models that the company offers. At the time of writing, it included 12 devices - smartphones with different features, capabilities and, of course, different pricing policies. All names are given in two variations - with the index X (X-mini, X-maxi, X-cosmo) and with a four-digit number (for example, TEXET TM 5016 telephone).

What is characteristic is that the catalog of devices is filled exclusively with smartphones (with a 4-5-inch diagonal touch screen, 2/4 core processors running on the Android 4.2.2/4.4.2 operating system. I would even like to point out that visually many devices are similar to each other , with the exception of the “protected” one (TEXET X-mega phone). The rest of the devices really seem to belong to the same class.

Design

I would immediately like to make a note regarding the appearance of mobile devices sold under the TEXET brand. Firstly, there is nothing special about their design; something that might interest the buyer and provide him with some value. In fact, we have 11 “shovels” and 1 “protected” rubberized phone, which seem to have been designed according to the same model.

If you look closely, you can even notice some elements of the appearance of “top” devices - from Samsung, Apple and other developers. For example, the TM-4503 model is similar to the first, and the TM-5006 is similar to the second. Other device models also included some “borrowings”.

Obviously, when projecting their gadgets, TEXET specialists did not disdain outright plagiarism in order to please the buyer and increase sales due to this.

Hardware basis

When talking about TEXET smartphones, you shouldn’t expect them to be powered by powerful, cutting-edge processors that deliver serious performance. Those devices that we analyzed (X-mega, X-line) are capable of being compared with an affordable Chinese smartphone. We are talking about 4-core Spreadtrum or MediaTek processors, which are more of a budget compromise than an application for speed.

Accordingly, the TEXET phone interacts at the same level - it can cope with most games on basic or average characteristics; but, of course, it won’t handle the “bulky” graphics of colorful gameplays. Plus, we should mention the small amount of RAM - only 512 MB or 1 GB. For comparison: in normal operating mode, the Android system consumes 300-400 MB of memory. Imagine what will happen if you run two or three programs in the background? The smartphone will simply experience serious problems with response - and its owner will feel a lot of inconvenience. And all because those who make the TEXET phone obviously tried to save as much as possible on components. To some extent, they, of course, succeeded.

Camera

For many users, the ability to take photos and videos is the most important feature of any smartphone. After all, it’s so convenient: as soon as the opportunity arises to take a photo in some unusual setting, take out your mobile phone (which you always carry with you anyway) and click a couple of frames. Of course, for this you need to have a device that is capable of this.

On paper, TEXET phones (we do not take into account reviews from real users for now) are equipped with two cameras, as befits modern phones of their class. These are the front camera for selfies and the main (rear) camera. Some of the described characteristics may even seem like solid 5- (like X-line) or 8-megapixel matrices (as is the case with TEXET iX). However, as we all know very well, this is not enough to speak with confidence about the quality of the images.

In fact, color rendition, camera focusing abilities, and the accuracy of software settings play a huge role. If the developer saves on this, even an 8-megapixel camera will shoot worse than one with a high-quality 5-megapixel matrix.

Therefore, speaking about the TEXET camera, we can confidently note that significant savings have been made on it. And you shouldn’t expect colorful, realistic pictures - these are smartphones of a completely different class.

Price policy

By the way, speaking about the classes of models, it should be noted that the phones belong to TEXET, their classification in terms of cost. So, as you can already understand, we are looking at budget devices that don’t pretend to have serious functionality. Their task is not to show stability, ample opportunities, or quality of work, but to present themselves to the buyer in the most attractive (from the point of view of acquisition) light. And, if you look closely, everything is designed for this.

We have already mentioned the first factor - design. It is copied from the most popular, best-selling devices. The second is the geographic location of the manufacturer. Well, of course, if it is a Russian company, then who wouldn’t want to support it by buying their product? Third is the price. The cost of the smartphones that we described in this article is an order of magnitude lower than even the most affordable “Chinese” ones. If the latter are offered for 8-12 thousand rubles, then a TEXET phone (for example, the X-mega model) will cost only 5-6 thousand. There is also a lower price positioning - take at least the X-mini 2 smartphone with a price tag of 3400.

That is, as we see, the manufacturer consciously takes all measures to make the smartphone more accessible and tempting from the point of view of the average person. Of course, the buyer will not go into details of the technical characteristics, since, most likely, he himself does not understand them enough.

Read about the project

When you buy a product or service from someone, you give him money for development, finance him (help). If you don't buy, you don't help (don't finance). By buying Russian goods and services, you help Russian people. This is reasonable for you if you are part of the Russian people.

The company was founded in 1993 in St. Petersburg and was originally called Alkotel Electronic Systems. On June 1, 2004, the company introduced a new brand of electronics intended for the general consumer. Thus, the TM teXet brand replaced the Alkotel Electronic Systems brand. New ambitious steps by the company, which persistently promotes its products on the market, required the abandonment of the old brand.

Texet regularly introduces high-tech devices to the market, using innovative techniques. High demands on product quality at the best prices - this is the motto of the company’s employees.

Is texet a good company?

To answer this question impartially, it is enough to give the following example.

The first products that were introduced to the market under the teXet brand were wired and wireless DECT phones. They were assembled by OEMs from China. And in the same year, the official website of the teXet company was announced.

The entry into 2005 was marked by the company's decision to begin a comprehensive enrichment of its product range. Texet's expansion of production by including MP3 players in its product line was a very successful marketing step. So, today, this particular product is the most popular and sold in the Russian Federation.

A little later, the texet company included other products in production. Among them are GPS navigators, which began to be produced in 2009, and mobile phones, the production of which began in 2010.

What is teXet today?

Currently, texet's products include the production of phones, e-books, tablet computers, players, video recorders, GPS navigators, and digital photo frames. The range of phones includes both DECT phones and smartphones. It must be emphasized that DECT phones are still the company's key products. DECT phones come in a wide variety of models. The models are famous for their functionality and stylish design, capable of satisfying the most sophisticated taste. Therefore, it is not surprising that these product lines still lead the company's overall sales.

teXet is a manufacturing company whose success was predetermined

The reasonable and balanced policy of the company's management led to well-deserved success. Today the phrase: texet-manufacturer, country Russia is known to a huge number of consumers in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The brand's products are sold through the largest federal networks, such as Eldorado, Euroset, Tekhnosila, as well as online stores.

Many times the company's products have received prestigious awards and prizes.

Fundamental aspects of teXet company policy:

  • application of modern technologies;
  • flexible prices;
  • recognizable corporate style;
  • reliability;
  • encouraging new ideas.

The multi-product basket is a unique feature of the company, which provides great advantages over competitors. Product leadership can be easily confirmed by statistics of the modern market for a given product line. Thus, the teXet brand is among the top three in such product categories as: e-books, accounting for 20% of sales in the Russian Federation, video recorders - with 14%, MP3 players - with 24%, digital photo frames - with 13%. Agree, the results are impressive!

All products are subject to strict control and detection of defects at the development stage at the production site in St. Petersburg. Inspection and testing are carried out in accordance with international standards. After introducing a product to the market, teXet continues to improve it. This is one of the few Russian companies that pay constant attention to quality control and are able to provide consumers with high-quality and complete service support.

The company has a developed distribution system: Euroset, M.Video, the DNS Digital Supermarket network, Eldorado, Yulmart, Tekhnosila, Svyaznoy. teXet products are sold in the CIS countries: Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan through official representatives.
