The phone functions similar to the iPhone 6s. Phones that are similar to iPhone - review of new products

Just a week ago, the release of new iPhones from Apple took place, noisy and very long-awaited for many fans. This year, two models were presented at once - iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the main difference of which is the enlarged screen. At the same time, the price of new devices has increased slightly and thus provided a chance for other manufacturers, whose devices have a significantly lower price, and some of the characteristics are even better than those of new Apple devices.

So, both iPhones received a new 64-bit A8 processor, 8 megapixel F2.2 rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front camera. The model has a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, an NFC module has appeared, support for LTE networks has been added, and other less significant features have been added.

Of course, true fans of Apple products will rush to buy new smartphones without looking back, without thinking about alternative options from other manufacturers, of which there are a great many on the mobile market now. In addition, Chinese phones can now boast of good characteristics and workmanship of both the external and internal components of the phone. We invite you to consider the top 10 best smartphones, in our opinion, that can give even an advanced iPhone a run for their money.

Xiaomi Mi4

The release of this device was just a month ago. There are not many differences compared to the previous Mi3 model, however, its characteristics are very impressive and the phone can be an excellent purchase in terms of price/quality ratio.

The main difference between Xiaomi Mi4 and Mi3 is the updated body, which is made of very high quality using plastic, glass and metal. The manufacturer also made interchangeable back panels, presenting a whole series of different designs. The device is equipped with an IPS LCD (Sharp) screen, 5” diagonal, resolution 1920×1080 pixels, 441 ppi with automatic backlight level adjustment, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with a frequency of 2.5 GHz and has 3 GB of RAM.

The main camera is 13 MP with autofocus and flash, supports 1080p video recording, the front camera is 8 MP, wide-angle (80 degrees). Mi4 has a fairly large 3100mAh battery, an IR port and support for LTE networks.

In China, Xiaomi Mi4 costs only 1999 yuan; in Europe, a price tag of $440 is expected.

Meizu MX4

Meizu MX4 has recently been called the Chinese iPhone and it’s hard to disagree with this. The phone presented a week ago currently has 7.7 million pre-orders worldwide! The appearance of the phone is probably the closest to the image of the iPhone 6 Plus. The phone has a slightly non-standard screen size of 5.36″ with a resolution of 1920×1152 pixels, but increasing the screen did not affect the dimensions of the device, because the thickness of the frame between the display and the edge of the case is 2.6 mm.

The phone is equipped with the top eight-core Mediatek MT6595 platform: with quad-core A17 2.2 GHz and quad-core A7 1.4 GHz. PowerVR G6200 600 MHz graphics, 2 GB RAM, 16/32/64 GB internal memory, non-expandable. All this runs on a 3000mAh battery and is wrapped in a high-quality case with a frame made of aircraft-grade aluminum. Meizu MX4 also has a 20 MP camera made by Sony (IMX220 Exmor RS).

In China, the price for Meizu MX4 starts at 1,799 yuan for the younger 16 GB version, 32 GB will cost 2,000 yuan, 64 GB – 2,400 yuan. The official price of the smartphone in Russia will be determined by September 10; the younger model will initially be sold at a price of 15,000-16,000 rubles, the older ones will be more expensive.

OnePlus One

A newcomer to the smartphone market, it was nonetheless immediately labeled a flagship killer. OPO is already on sale and has thousands of fans around the world, although the design may seem very boring and not original to many. The smartphone runs on CyanogenMod 11S with Trebuchet 1.0 shell.

The body of the device is made of plastic, has edges made of aluminum, and a screen protected by Gorilla Glass. The plastic in the white OnePlus One is smooth, matte, pleasant to the touch and practical - marks and prints are invisible on it. The screen has a diagonal of 5.5″, a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a density of 401 ppi. The smartphone is built on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 platform with a quad-core processor with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, graphics subsystem (GPU) – Adreno 330 with a processor frequency of 578 MHz. The device has 3 GB of RAM and 16/64 GB of internal memory. Camera - 13 MP with autofocus, dual LED backlight, video recorded in 4k, 1080p, 5 MP front camera. All this is powered by a good 3100mAh battery.

The price tag for this device ranges from $299 to $379.

Huawei Honor 6

This phone, like the ones presented above, uses aluminum and glass to make the case, the combination of which makes the appearance of the device more stylish and expensive. Externally, Honor 6 is very similar to the Huawei Ascend P7, although the thickness of the device has increased slightly to 7.5mm. But the processor can please you with very fast performance; it has an eight-core processor with a frequency of 1.7 GHz.

Like many Chinese flagship smartphones, Honor 6 has 3 gigabytes of RAM and a 13 megapixel camera with the ability to record 1080p video (1920 x 1080 pixels). All this runs on the Android operating system version 4.4 KitKat with its own UI Emotion shell, thereby adding some individuality and ease of use to the device.

A high-quality 5″ screen with oleophobic coating, a stylish body made of natural materials, the ability to use microSD cards up to 64 GB and a 3100mAh battery make this phone a very attractive offer.

The price of $390 outside of China is very competitive.

Gionee Elife S5.1

Perhaps you are not interested in luxurious device specifications, a large battery and replaceable panels and you just want to buy a stylish phone with high quality performance, then this phone is worth a closer look. The smartphone is the thinnest in the world, only 5.1mm!

Elife S5.1 boasts a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, 1 GB of RAM and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front and back! The phone supports LTE and has a processor: 8 cores, 1700 MHz, MTK6592 and 8 MP. a camera very similar to what will be in the new iPhone 6.

And now the most interesting thing - the price. Today, the GioNee Elife S5.5 smartphone can be found in Russia from 17,000 rubles.

Lenovo Vibe Z2

If you are looking for something non-standard, a little different from current smartphones, then the Lenovo Vibe Z2 is suitable for you. The Vibe's shape is certainly very similar to its competitors - a rectangular shape with sharp edges. The case is made of polished aluminum, there are three options to choose from - white, titanium and gold.

There is a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera, a 5.5-inch display, 1280x720 pixels, super bright - 520 cd (for comparison, modern TVs have a brightness of around 400 cd), and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8916 processor with a frequency of 1.4 GHz. The device has 2 GB of RAM, and the battery has a capacity of 3000mAh (standby time – up to 17 days, talk time – up to 30 hours).

All this stuff can be purchased for about $430.

ZTE Nubia Z7

Of all the phones on our list, the Nubia Z7 is the smartphone that is currently very difficult to get, and all this is not at all due to marketing, but to the insane demand in both the Chinese and European markets.

There are 3 phone configurations in total - Nubia Z7 Mini, Z7 Max and the top-end variant - Z7. Each phone in this series boasts dual SIM support, LTE network support and a Qualcomm processor. On board there is an Android 4.4 system and 2 GB of RAM.

IUNI U3

Like the Meizu MX4 smartphone, IUNI U3 has very thin edges between the screen and the edge of the body. Of course, the body of the device itself is made in a traditional style - it is metal, slightly curved on the back cover. The phone looks very stylish and has an impressive 5.5″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels!

The smartphone has two slots for SIM cards, a 3000mAh battery, LTE and 3 GB of RAM. The main camera is 13 megapixels with a Sony sensor, with optical stabilization, the front camera is 4 megapixels. U3 runs on a quad-core processor, 2.3 GHz and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 platform. The smartphone will run on Android 4.4, the shell is proprietary IUNI OS, very similar in the main idea and the entire menu organization to MIUI.

You can buy this phone starting from September this month; the cost of IUNI U3 in China is 2,000 yuan, which is about 12,500 rubles.

Lenovo Vibe X2

A phone with classic characteristics without any frills. The design is very predictable, but the smartphone is only 7.27mm thick, has a 5″ display and a 13MP camera. This is one of the first models on the market built on an 8-core processor from MediaTek – MT6595m. The maximum frequency is 2 GHz, with 4 Cortex A17 cores and 4 Cortex A7 cores for improved power saving. The amount of RAM is 2 GB, internal memory is 32 GB.

Quite stylish Vibe X2 weighs only 120 grams and has a 2250 mAh battery. This device should be released in October at an approximate cost of 15,000 rubles ($390 for other countries, figure from the press release).

Vivo Xshot

And in conclusion, another very interesting smartphone with good characteristics, having all the gentlemanly set of a flagship device. The phone looks no worse than its rivals, thin, stylish and with very good characteristics.

This device has everything that is present in flagship smartphones. Xshot has a 5.2″ screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3 GB of RAM. The main camera is 13 megapixels with a Sony F1.8 sensor, there is support for LTE and the ability to expand memory up to 128 GB. The battery in the device is 2600 mAh.

The pre-order price of this device is about $499.

In custody …

As you can see, there is a rather large choice. Today there are a sufficient number of very competitive manufacturers, the number of which is growing every day. Judging by the characteristics of many devices, most of them are even more powerful than new smartphones from Apple, and the design and materials are no worse. We have presented only the most interesting options, the price of which is even lower than that stated for the iPhone 6 Plus. Please note that almost all smartphones presented have fairly good batteries and screens with a diagonal of at least 5 inches.

There are a lot of copies of the iPhone now, but it’s one thing when they are made by Chinese brands that no one knows about, and another thing when they are made by famous manufacturers. Of course, a list of 5 iPhone copies can easily be filled with Samsung phones (after all, good artists are known to copy and great ones to steal), but there are other brands whose iPhone-like phones sell very well.

The history of large-scale litigation between Samsung and Apple began precisely with the Galaxy S. Then the Cupertino residents accused their Korean friends of blatantly copying the iPhone. And you know, the accusations were not without reason. The design of the then Samsung flagship very much resembled an Apple phone (namely, the iPhone 3GS).

There's no denying that these two phones are very similar in appearance. The frames on the sides and the rounded corners are very noticeable. But Samsung then decided that if they copied, then they copied everything. The designers didn’t bother too much with the new interface and again took a look (just a little) at Apple’s idea. In its lawsuit, the Apple company referred to both the square icons (which are so well placed in the Galaxy S) and the grid size (4 by 4), because this is the principle on which the iPhone menu is built.

The legal saga lasted for several years (sometimes it even seemed that it would never end), companies took turns filing lawsuits against each other in different courts (then even a special term “Patent Trolling” appeared). Sales of both Apple and Samsung devices were banned for short periods. True, only in local markets (although they are also quite large): USA, Australia, Korea and others. Such “maneuvers” probably brought big losses to companies. For example, the court ordered Samsung to pay Apple $1 billion.

Now it’s very happy to see that Samsung is trying to make its own unique design, and they are doing it very well. And it doesn’t matter at all that outwardly all Korean phones and tablets are similar to each other.

Huawei (sorry), a seemingly good company, began making good phones and winning the trust of customers. But the Chinese beginning made itself felt. One fine day, the company's designers decided to make the phone similar to the iPhone 5. Although, no. Not similar. The same. This is exactly how the Huawei Ascend P6 was born.

They stole only the appearance, they decided to install their own (proprietary) user interface. Despite the fact that the design is borrowed, the phone does not look like a cheap copy of the iPhone. I’ll say even more - the Huawei case looks even more beautiful in places than the Apple smartphone.

A situation like the one with the Samsung Galaxy S is most likely not expected. Apple has no plans to sue Huawei. There may be several reasons for this: the Cupertino residents are now very “busy with innovation” (the release of a new iPhone is just around the corner, and all that), they won’t be able to get a lot of money out of the “Chinese,” or they don’t even know about the existence of a brand like Huawei.

You can look it up on our website.

Fly also employs not particularly principled guys, so no one is stopping them from borrowing small design elements from Apple. The appearance of the Fly IQ453 is generally a weak point - just a black square (may Malevich forgive me for comparing his masterpiece with this one). In order to somehow dilute the dull design, the company decided to “bring in the iPhone” a little. Here are the top and bottom ends of both phones for comparison.

And this is what the connectors look like in the Fly IQ453. There are some similarities, you will agree.

The side faces are also too similar.

In the case of the Fly IQ435 Quad, there is no such obvious similarity as the Huawei Ascend P6 or Samsung Galaxy S. But still, it would be stupid to say that the British company did not copy the iPhone.

You can check it out on our website.

Another phone that failed to escape a lawsuit from Apple. The reason is still the same - copying the design. Although in this case the Cupertino team was too picky about the then young Chinese manufacturer. Unlike all other iPhone copies, Meizu M9 has its own face. The head of the company said that Apple does not understand what they are doing, because with such success they need to ban the sale of all phones with a touch screen.

Despite everything, sales started on January 1, 2011. In China, they even managed to gather thousands of queues outside stores.

In any case, the Meizu M9 seems to me more like a copy of the iPhone concepts than the iPhone itself.

And the last brazen copy of the iPhone in our selection will be a phone from the Russian company Hightscreen – Alpha Ice. It’s not difficult to notice the similarities with the iPhone 5 (or 5s). First of all, the silver edging and the location of the camera are striking (the flash is of a different type, but this did not save the situation).

This fact should not be taken seriously, but the display here is made by Sharp, just like the iPhone. They got insolent to the edge! They can’t even find another display supplier!

It seems to me that this move by companies (to make phones similar to the iPhone) is not very correct. You can easily create a unique design and make a good profit from sales. Taking Samsung as an example would not be entirely correct (before the Galaxy S story began, the company already had a good name). The situation with OnePlus One or Oppo Find 5 shows that success can be achieved without attracting buyers by resemblance to Apple. And making copies of the iPhone is the lot of Chinese “no names”.

On September 12, Apple introduced the anniversary iPhone X with a frameless 5.8-inch screen, Face ID facial recognition system and a dual camera with optical zoom. The price starts at $1,000; for Russians, the new product will cost at least 79,990 rubles. Meanwhile, the iPhone X is not the only smartphone with this design. Lifehacker found 10 more “frameless” ones, and they are all cheaper.

1. Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+

The South Korean flagships Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are equipped with 5.8- and 6.2-inch screens, respectively. There are no side frames at all, and the edges are smoothly rounded. There may not be a dual camera with optical zoom, but in terms of security, smartphones are no less worthy than: they can identify the owner by the iris of the eye. There is also facial recognition, but the camera works using a two-dimensional algorithm, not taking into account depth, and therefore the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ can be unlocked with a photo.

The official price for S8+ is 54,990 and 59,990 rubles, respectively.

The popular 2017 Samsung Galaxy Note phablet also got an infinite screen, but with a diagonal of 6.3 inches. And its edges are not as steep as those of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, because there must be room in the case for the S Pen. The camera has become double, there is a 2x optical zoom. The security features are the same as in the G8: an iris scanner and an unreliable facial recognition system.

The official price in Russia is 69,990 rubles.

3.LG G6

Unfortunately, the flagship LG G6 was deprived of popular attention, although the phrase “got a solid screen before it became mainstream” is about it. There's a 5.7-inch Quad HD Plus FullVision display with Dolby Vision and HDR10 technologies and an 18:9 aspect ratio, but LG chose an IPS matrix, and therefore it became impossible to get rid of the side frames by curving the panel.

The LG G6's dual camera features wide-angle and standard lenses with 125° and 71° angles, respectively. Facial recognition is available, but LG warns: "The feature provides less security for your phone than other methods such as pattern, PIN, password and fingerprint."

The official price of LG G6 in Russia is 39,990 rubles.

LG equipped the flagship V30 with a 6-inch P-OLED screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9, however, like in the G6, it did not round the edges or remove the side frames. Notably, the LG V30 is smaller in size than the OnePlus 5 with a regular 5.5-inch 16:9 display.

The dual camera is created according to the same logic as the G6. One lens is wide-angle at 120°, the other is normal at 71°. Moreover, the camera is so cool that David Franco, director of photography for Game of Thrones, took part in the presentation of the smartphone.

There are no innovations in terms of security here.

The start of sales in South Korea is scheduled for September 21. The smartphone will then go to North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The price is expected to be around $700 - about 40,000 rubles.

A mysterious smartphone from the “father of Android” Andy Rubin appeared in American online stores in early August without any announcement. Attention is drawn to the 5.71-inch LTPS screen covering almost the entire front panel. The front camera breaks the integrity, but after the iPhone X with its “ears,” it would be strange to scold the designers of the Essential Phone.

The smartphone is equipped with a dual camera: one color, the other monochrome. The tandem is designed to increase the amount of light received by 200% compared to “traditional” cameras, the developers say. Nothing is said about security features other than a fingerprint scanner.

The pre-order price is $699, delivery is promised in 1–2 months.

The images of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 are breathtaking. On them it is truly frameless! However, in life everything is not like that. Yes, the 6-inch IPS screen with an 18:9 ratio seems to occupy 93% of the front panel, there is no earpiece. But there are frames, and on the sides, and, contrary to Xiaomi’s statement, they are not much smaller than those of the iPhone 7 Plus.

The camera of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is traditional “one-eyed”, but on a Sony IMX386 sensor and with optical stabilization. Xiaomi didn’t bother with security measures.

The price in the maximum configuration on the Chinese market is 3,999 yuan (about 35,000 rubles).

GSMArena.com

Xiaomi claims that the huge 6.4-inch screen covers 91.3% of the front panel, but measurements showed that no more than 84%. In general, it’s also not bad. The edges are not rounded, and therefore there are still small frames.

The camera is average, with an OmniVision sensor and no optical image stabilization. Facial recognition using neural networks, machine learning and an infrared camera? Of course not!

In the top configuration it will cost between 35-40 thousand rubles.

SZ LifeStyle/AliExpress.com

Once upon a time, it was Sharp that released the first truly frameless smartphone, and the tradition continues. The Sharp Aquos 2 is a mid-ranger with a 5.5-inch 4K screen that covers 87.5% of the front panel and has a small cutout on top for the selfie camera. The main camera is dual, and the second module is needed solely to simulate the bokeh effect. Security is entrusted to the fingerprint scanner.

Inexpensive new product from a Chinese manufacturer. The world's first 6-inch smartphone with an edge-to-edge 18:9 display and a 5,100 mAh battery. There is also a dual camera - the second module allows you to blur the background. A fingerprint scanner is responsible for security.

The pre-order price of UmiDigi S2 is only $229.99 (about 13,000 rubles), shipping starts after October 11.

The cheapest smartphone in the selection and at the same time the most dubious. The manufacturer has moved the 5.5-inch display to the top as much as possible, which creates the feeling of a frameless design - but there are still frames. The dual camera with bokeh effect is here for show: it takes disgusting pictures. The archaic Home button contains a fingerprint scanner.

Price - about 11,000 rubles.

Everyone was wondering what the price would be. Especially in Russia, where pricing does not always depend on the ruble exchange rate or technical characteristics. We choose with our hearts, not our heads. And even if this sounds like a joke about a blonde and a red car, an iPhone is often taken for the very fact that it is an iPhone.

After the presentation of the smartphone, speculation with prices intensified, especially given the fact that Russia is not among the countries where the “ten” will be sold from October 27. In our country, the iPhone X will go on sale on November 3. start at 79,990 rubles for the 64 GB version and from 91,990 rubles for the 256 GB model. However, for those who don’t want to wait that long, they are offering a “super offer” - you can become the owner of the most stuffed Apple flagship even before pre-orders start for 2 million rubles.

However, even before the start of sales and even before the presentation of the iPhone X, there were and remain worthy competitors to the Apple phone on the market. They are not inferior to it either in design or in characteristics, and in price they even surpass it - in the sense that they are several times cheaper. So, 15 iPhone X alternatives.

Samsung

The Korean giant, which is Apple's main competitor, has at least two models that can compete with the “ten”. For example, a flagship that is already being successfully sold, or one that will go on sale the other day. This is an almost frameless screen (5.8 inches for the S8 and 6.3 for the Note8), a powerful processor, an excellent camera (the S has one module, the Note8 has dual), and a price starting from 35,000 rubles. Well, we should expect the release of the Galaxy S9 soon.

Sony

In June, the Japanese presented in Moscow the flagship of the new line of the Xperia series -. A special feature of the model is a 23-megapixel Motion Eye camera with its own memory module. The cost of a smartphone is from 54,000 rubles.

And last week, the line-up was almost as good as the flagship, as well as the Xperia XA1 line - without a smart camera. At the same time, the cost of XZ1 will be 49,990 rubles, and XA1 is already on sale, while the Ultra version with a 6-inch screen is available from 20,000 thousand rubles.

HTC

Amid rumors about the sale of the company to the Internet giant Google, HTC can still boast of premium smartphones. Among these is the U11 model. It has a premium design and Gorilla Glass 5 on all sides, a 5.5-inch screen, a powerful processor and GPU, which turns the smartphone into a multimedia machine. Plus, a 12MP camera with intuitive Edge Sense controls—you don't even have to press the shutter—and BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition speakers with surround sound. The cost for a model with 64 GB on board starts from 42,000 rubles.

You can also pay attention to the U Ultra model, which has a larger screen diagonal (5.7 inches) and costs an order of magnitude cheaper than the U11 - prices start at 23,500 rubles.

Google

Since we remembered the giant, it is worth noting the smartphone under its own brand and entirely developed by Google. And let it be assembled at the HTC factory. Google Pixel and Pixel XL are last year's flagships, replacing the Nexus 5X (developed with LG) and 6P (developed with Huawei).
The smartphone boasted a 12-megapixel camera, a 4-core processor, cool AMOLED displays of 5 and 5.5 inches, respectively, and of course the latest Android OS at that time - 7.1 Nougat. We can soon expect the appearance of the second generation of Google smartphones - .

LG

Another Korean giant with the “smallest big smartphone” is the G6. It was nicknamed that way because the 5.3-inch body contains a 5.7-inch screen. How this is physically possible is a mystery, but the manufacturer boasts of “cinematic image quality.” There is a dual main camera here - 13 megapixels each, while one of them has a wide-angle lens.

In addition, you can take a closer look at the V30 - presented at the recent IFA exhibition. Powerful processor, capacious battery, 6-inch screen and 13 megapixel camera. And also the ability to shoot and edit 4K video and sound from Bang&Olufsen. Not everything is clear about the price yet - in Korea they promise around $700, but whether the device will arrive in Russia is a big question.

Moto

The long-suffering brand has presented and will soon begin selling it in Russia, at a rather modest price - from 34,990 rubles. The beauty of the gadget is in the replaceable accessories that expand its capabilities - a speaker, a gamepad, a photo module, a 360-degree camera, a projector, etc. Well, in addition, it is a thin body (5.99 mm) and weighs 145 grams, an 8-core processor, 64 GB on board, 5.5 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display and 12 megapixel camera with laser focusing up to 5 meters.

Honor

The Chinese continue to expand in all directions. Mobile electronics are no exception. The Nonor brand, which belongs to Huawei, boasts a “unique design” that is immediately reminiscent of both the iPhone and Samsung. Among other things, the smartphone has a dual camera (20 MP + 12 MP) with hybrid zoom, Huawei Histen surround sound technology, an 8-core Kirin 960 processor and a powerful battery with fast charging. You can buy this miracle from 26,990 rubles.

But Huawei also produces smartphones under its own brand of the same name, for example, P10 / P10 Plus. For 40,990 rubles you can get a 5.5" WQHD screen in a thin metal case, a dual camera of 20 and 12 megapixels, created in collaboration with the legendary company Leica (in general, the device is positioned as created for photography lovers), the same processor as Honor and a powerful battery. And also an infrared controller - what if it comes in handy? You can also pay attention to.
