The company also announced a tablet with a 10-inch Retina display and a super-powerful 9,000 mAh battery.

And that’s not all the 8-core smartphones currently available. The list for today ends with the K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1. Everyone knows that the production of smartphones in China is thriving, for which all conditions have been created here. Why is this happening? Because their products are almost as good as the world’s leading manufacturers, and their prices are noticeably lower. The next record promises to be set by the phone we named, which should go on sale before April 2015. It will be the cheapest eight-core smartphone with a Full HD display. Platform - clock frequency - 1.7 GHz, standard 2 GB of RAM, built-in storage capacity of 16 GB, two good cameras: 13-megapixel on the back wall, five megapixel on the front. In addition, the front camera should have wide-angle optics, and now, no matter how many people take part in the video meeting, everyone will be included in the frame. Also, the K Touch Nibiru Mars One H1 has a magnificent Full-HD five-inch display and has all, except LTE, wireless communication modules. What else are 8-core smartphones characterized by?

Android is the operating system that is installed on them. In our case, this is Google Android 4.2.2, called Jelly Bean and the Nibiru interface. The cost of this magnificent model is approximately 6,000 rubles.

Buyers often wonder if there is any point in buying an 8-core smartphone. How will applications and games work on it, how long will the battery charge last? This problem already occurred when moving to two and four cores. Manufacturers have long found solutions to all emerging issues. First, operating systems are optimized to run on more cores. Secondly, in order not to decrease battery life, Huawei and Samsung are developing special technologies to prevent this, for example, ARM big.LITTLE. Thirdly, the performance of phones will increase noticeably, especially when all eight cores are forced to work simultaneously. So it's up to you whether to buy or not.

Oddly enough, the number of cores in a processor itself is not the only characteristic that affects its performance. The core is different from the core. It is easy to notice that the flagships of market leading companies have processors with the usual four cores, or even two. There are several reasons for this.

So, some “eights” are actually doubled “fours”. One “four” is more powerful and connects to demanding tasks, the other is weaker and works when background mode and energy saving are needed. Another reason is that most programs require no more than two cores to run. But that's it for now.

The increase in the number of cores on chips of mobile processors is a continuation of the trend of their older brothers, desktops. Their nuclear race began a decade and a half ago, and today there are experimental machines whose processor has nearly a hundred cores. Therefore, smartphones will inevitably face the same fate; it is only a matter of time and the appearance of more hardware-demanding applications (primarily games).

Thanks to 8-core processors, the performance of even inexpensive handsets has increased significantly and is now not far behind the top models (see test results below).

This model has three varieties, which differ in the amount of built-in memory - 16, 32 and 64 gigabytes. The youngest took part in the testing. If you close your eyes to the appearance, perhaps copied from the 3rd generation iPhone, as well as the strange implementation of the functionality of the only touch key, then in general Meizu is a noteworthy manufacturer that is trying to stand out through new technological solutions. There are a lot of them in this model, ranging from lightweight metal alloys of the internal structure to improved audio playback.

Alcatel One Touch Idol X+

This plus version of Idol X is an update of last year's non-plus version, which enjoyed some success. The update has a new processor, overclocked to 2 GHz, and many improvements in the software. The overall appearance is, perhaps, only “cheaper” than the rustic plastic casing.

On the one hand, it is clearly inferior to its competitors in terms of characteristics. But on the other hand, Art 2 is an “octa-core” device, the clear strengths of which are the price, bright and contrasting screen, as well as weight - the phone is almost unnoticeable in the hand.

One of the flagships of a player new to the Russian market. In its homeland, India, this smartphone has surpassed such a venerable competitor as Samsung in terms of sales volumes, relying on trade through stallholders, peddlers and other small traders. The Knight model also tries very hard to resemble the American apple in appearance - metal edging with a golden sheen, glossy black body. The device is noticeably heavy on the hand, although not excessively.

This is the company's first model equipped with an 8-core processor. In terms of size, it stands out from its competitors and is identical, in particular, to the Nokia Lumia 1520. Due to the large screen and average resolution, the ppi (dots per inch) indicator is lame here. The advantages include the small thickness - only 7 mm, relatively light weight (I expected it to exceed 200 g) and fast operation.

All participants in the review do not have a 4G/LTE module.
