After pressing this button, a message like this will be displayed on the screen: Flashing: “66727188” and Unlocking: “37009466”. We choose the 1st option.
Then select the flashing file downloaded from the official resource and run it. The system will request a FLASH password, which will be generated by the IMEI password program.
When the system completes installation, you need to remove the modem from the PC slot and connect it again. This completes the preparatory work.

I received a modem that was in the hands of a creative experimenter. No matter how much I checked and restored its configuration, it sure as hell didn’t work in 3G mode. When connected, it showed a maximum speed of 236kbit, but in reality “no speed”.

1. Take out the SIM card.

2. Insert the modem into the USB port. We are waiting for the drivers and software of your operator to be installed, in my case it is MTS Connect Manager. If autorun is disabled for you, you need to go to MY COMPUTER, open the disk (defined as a CD/DVD drive) with the software, and install it manually.

3. Stitching.

Here you need to perform five steps in sequence.

First: Launch HUAWEI_Calculator .exe from the software package, enter IMEI, press the Calculate button. We get Unlock code and Flash code. Let's save them. They will be needed:

Second: you need to unlock the modem. Let's launch Huawei modem terminal and check the lock status:

AT^CARDLOCK?

(modem response: CARDLOCK: A,B,0, if A=2 the modem is unlocked, A=1 the modem is locked – SimLock, if A=3 there are two options: either you have used up all 10 attempts to enter the code, or you have customized firmware in the modem , B – number of remaining attempts to enter the unlock code (default 10 times))

You will most likely see the following:

Send:AT^CARDLOCK?

That is, the modem is blocked. To unlock you need to issue the command:

AT^CARDLOCK="NCK Code"– enter the unlock code (8-digit number - i.e. unlock code received earlier)

Unlock:

AT^CARDLOCK="50752897" - Quotes are required

Third: We launch Firmware E171_11.126.85.00.209_B427.exe or Firmware E367_11.810.09.20.00.B726.exe depending on your model (I have not tested E367). At one stage of the firmware, the program will ask you to enter the Flash code. Enter the previously obtained value and continue.

Fourth: Before installing the Dashboard firmware on the modem, it is recommended to install the Huawei_modem-3.0 program for Windows and test it for compatibility with the modem. This is the same program for controlling the modem, but not intended for writing to the modem’s memory.

Download the firmware (Dashboard) HUAWEI Modem 3.0(intended for Modems: HUAWEI E150, E153, E156, E160, E171, E173, E1550, E1750, E1820, E352, E353, E367, E392, E3131.

Launch huawei_modem-3.0_utps23.002.08.00.378-for-E3276.exe. This program will write universal software to the modem:

If at any stage you get this error:

This indicates that the modem is either not connected or the drivers are not installed. It may be necessary to remove the MTS software, reset the modem and let the system redefine it with a new one. A reboot may be required.

I consistently received this message when trying to install Dashboard_2.0_utps11.300.05.21.343_driver_v. 4.22.05-1. The firmware huawei_modem-3.0_utps23.002.08.00.378 was uploaded perfectly the first time.

Fifth: Insert the SIM card into the modem. Let's connect. Launch the Huawey Modem 3.0 program if it does not start automatically. The program may ask you for your Unlock code. We enter the code received at the first stage (in my case the code was not required). We use it.

What is firmware?

Almost every owner of a mobile phone/smartphone, tablet, laptop and even personal computer is familiar with the term “firmware”. In fact, it is a collection of software that controls the device, its operating system. That is, if we draw an analogy with a desktop computer, this means nothing more than reinstalling the OS on the gadget.

The reasons that may force the owner to resort to such measures vary: from the desire to use a more advanced version of the software, to the need to eliminate serious software and technical gaps. In the case of the Beeline modem, the firmware is carried out to expand the functionality in terms of supporting various operators. It's no secret that most of these devices support only one SIM card, the network of a specific operator, which significantly limits the subscriber's options.

Existing update methods

You can flash a modem in different ways, but the most commonly used are the following:

Using proprietary software from the modem manufacturer. Most often these are Chinese corporations Huawei or ZTE, which is easy to verify by visiting the corresponding product section on the operator’s official website;
Using alternative Beeline Internet at Home software.

Branded software from the manufacturer

First, you will need to visit the Huawei or ZTE website to download the current program for, for example, Huawei Modem 3.5.

Before installation, you need to make sure that the specific model is supported by this particular software. After installing and launching it, a pop-up window should appear asking for a code. It is based on the IMEI of the device, but to determine it you will have to use another program, for example, HuaweiCalculator.

Enter the IMEI number in the appropriate field and perform the calculation (the “Calc” button). The program will generate four different codes, of which the one in the NCK field is necessary. It is copied to the unlock line and the process can be considered complete.

If the modem is old and the previous program does not support it, then you can use another software - Huawei Unlock Code Calculator. In this case, you need to pay attention to the V1 CODE field, where the necessary code will be generated.

Sometimes it happens that the unlock request window does not appear. Then you will have to use the Huawei Modem Terminal program, which allows you to flash the device by entering service text commands:

AT^CARDLOCK=ʺnck codeʺ – unlock request;
AT^CARDUNLOCK=ʺnck md5 hashʺ – resetting code request attempts to 10;
AT^CARDLOCK? – checking the process status.

Alternative software from Beeline

First, you will need to remove the existing software and install “Internet at Home” in its place. It allows you to use the modem for other operators. Some of them are available for selection by default, but there is also the ability to add third-party ones by entering details. The Beeline program window is intuitive and does not require serious instructions for use.
