Step One: Password Verification

To do this, you need to go to the Wifi settings on your mobile phone, turn on the appropriate adapter and wait until the required network is displayed. If after this you still cannot authenticate, this means that there has been a failure in the network settings and you need to delete it. You need to do the following:

The password is case sensitive (lowercase and uppercase letters), so if you have capital letters or special characters, make sure that's what you enter.

Step 2: Check the network name

Another thing that seems obvious, but you can get it wrong, so make sure you are trying to connect to the correct network, network names can be similar and differ slightly and can easily be mixed up. Either way, check and make sure you are connecting to the correct network.

Step 3: Reboot your router

If such a problem occurs when connecting to public Wi-Fi, then it is unlikely that it will be possible to fix it, since we do not have access to the router settings. You can only check your password; perhaps you entered it incorrectly.

Solving the Authentication Problem

Now let's talk about the reasons why this problem may appear and the solutions.

Reboot your router

To begin with, you just need to reboot the router (unplug it and turn it back on after a few seconds). Perhaps it's just some kind of glitch, and a reboot will help.

Checking the password

Very often this problem occurs due to the fact that when connecting we specify the wrong password (or we do not respect the case). Exactly the password for the Wi-Fi network. Not to be confused with the password that is used to access the router settings.

I specifically specified the wrong password and I ended up with a slightly different problem. First comes “Connecting...”, then “Authentication...”, then “ ” and everything is repeated in a circle.

If you are sure that the password is correct, it is still worth checking. Look at the password in the router settings; I already wrote about how to do this.

It may even be that someone connected to your network and changed your password :). Whatever this happens, your router.

Changing the password, security type and encryption

Most likely, the “Authentication Error” problem appears due to the fact that your phone or tablet is not compatible with the security settings that are set on your router. I will enter the security type, encryption and the password itself.

Try setting the security settings as indicated in the article.

If this does not help, then try setting different options. For example:

WPA/WPA2 – Personal(Recommended) – this item is required.

Version: Automatic.

Encryption: Automatic.

Try entering the password yourself only numbers and strictly 8 characters.

Attention! After each change, delete the connection on your phone (tablet) and connect to the network again, enter a new password. To delete a connection, press it with your finger and hold it for a while, a menu will appear there.

Operating mode (b/g/n) and channel on which the wireless network operates
