What can you tweet about? How to run a company's Twitter. Examples of using Twitter
304 million monthly active users is a good reason to promote your company on Twitter. Low labor intensity, ease of use and instant transmission of information make this social network an excellent platform for business. But it, like other social networks, must be used wisely and with imagination.
"Secret" has selected several microblogs - Russian and foreign - whose experience should be adopted in order to win customer loyalty.
Aviasales
It would be hard to find a wittier and more hooligan Twitter account for a Russian company than Aviasales with its 13,500 followers. As one news publication taught us all, the best way to attract the attention of a subscriber is to joke. As Aviasales teaches us, we also need to remember to follow the trends. The company's Twitter reacts very sensitively to events, be it Peskov's watch or Saakashvili's appearance in Odessa, offering to buy air tickets. Clickability here is more important than aesthetics, which is better left for Instagram: for example, Aviasales promotion announcements are accompanied by funny illustrations, without particularly caring about their compliance with beauty standards. Aviasales has mastered the art of creating viral posts on Twitter perfectly.
Charmin
How to tweet if a company sells toilet paper? What posts to make and how to attract subscribers? The task is not an easy one. The Charmin brand did it. Firstly, he invented characters for himself - a party of bears, and secondly, they were not ashamed of their own destiny. There are few abstract posts on the account - they mostly joke about hygiene, generously place emojis with toilets and constantly focus on the softness and strength of the material. 67,000 subscribers isn't too bad for a toilet paper brand. Be fun, be open and look for ways to please your audience with your product - here are tips for those who also want to sell toilet paper, condoms or something like that.
The Dolphin
The Dolphin pub in England used an interesting scheme to attract subscribers to its Twitter: it started a microblog of a real dolphin and posts jokes and witticisms on its behalf, without mincing words. The dolphin sometimes begins sentences with the exclamation “Fuck!” posts a photograph of an outdoor advertisement with the face of David Guetta with a penis growing above his eyebrow. Not surprisingly, this Twitter has attracted many more followers than official account pub: 26,000 versus 3,800 followers. But when people subscribe to The Dolphin, they know that it is directly related to the pub of the same name - if only because it does not forget to constantly write about alcohol. A great move, even if you are not named after an animal - if you come up with a similar narrator, success is guaranteed.
Google Russia
There are, of course, several times fewer subscribers here than in the western branch - 1.7 million versus 12.2 million. But it’s still interesting to see how the IT company copes with promoting its services and those that seem to be already the most popular . Even if your product is leading the market, don't relax and take Google's lead. The company, along with abstract tweets, does not forget to find new twists even for its most famous products - for example, offers“33 Ways to Start an Interesting Story with Google Search.” Google also reminds that maintaining corporate identity in everything is a fundamental task, so all illustrations for tweets are drawn separately and form the company’s identity.

Do you believe in magic? Well then, I’m sorry but you’re hopelessly out of touch with modern science and technology.
After registering, you will be asked to select several people who write on various topics that you would like to read. These are the so-called tips on how to work with Twitter. After you familiarize yourself with them, you will see the main page - the message feed. This feed will display posts from your followers, that is, Twitter users you follow. Also on the home page you can get information about the number of your posts (or tweets), the personalities you follow and who are following you. Moreover, keep in mind this point: if you follow a person, it is not at all necessary that he follows you, and vice versa.

In touch
The Connected tab allows you to track what other Twitter users are doing with your account, showing replies to your tweets or tweets linking to you (with your username with an @ icon), as well as information about who has started following you. Responses are just a mixture of these two points, mentions are only the first.

I know
The “In the Know” tab allows you to keep abreast of everything that happens on the microblogging network: here you can find the most current (discussed) topics, the actions of your followers, recommendations of people who may be interesting to you, as well as the usual banal search.
Direct messages on Twitter
At first glance, it may seem unrealistic from outside eyes (all your tweets appear on your profile and in the main feed of your followers), but this is not so. If you want to chat with any user face to face, use the function: such correspondence is not available to everyone and is visible only to you and your interlocutor. To be honest, I use it very rarely, believing that one of the well-known instant messengers is more suitable for this kind of communication, but Twitter has a slightly different purpose.
Hash tags
is the category you can categorize your tweet into. For example, you write about what a delicious lunch you had today, at the end of the tweet it is advisable to write the following combination - #vkusnota. The hash tag and the words after the hash (Latin or Cyrillic) are the hash tag. What are they needed for? It's very simple: so that other Twitter users can find your posts on topics that interest them. As you've probably noticed, all hashtags turn into links: by clicking on it, you'll see tweets from all users who have added a specific hashtag to their posts.

World trends
Trends are just words or , the most used in the microblogging network at the moment. You can always see a list of them in the web version in the left sidebar.

Lists
Lists are actually extremely useful. Thanks to them, you can create new feeds of messages from people you may not even follow. Lists can be either open to everyone or accessible only to you.
Services
Whatever one may say, the web version of Twitter does not provide complete information about your account, so there are many third-party services on the Internet that, using the Twitter API, help you obtain the necessary information or perform some actions that cannot be done using standard methods, for example, unsubscribe immediately from a large number of your friends, upload a video, picture or music track.

Twitter on mobile devices
The beauty of Twitter is how easy it is to use it anywhere, anytime. Today, there are official Twi applications for all known mobile platforms (iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, iPad). This is very convenient: you can tweet whenever you want: for example, to tell your friends that you are in a cafe or at an interesting movie.
Twitter and other social networks
Another feature of Twitter is that it easily “links” with other social networks. You can or Facebook. You can do the reverse and post notes from a contact directly to your Twi feed. You can also
Please note that you cannot write entire articles on one issue or another, because the number of characters you can publish in each entry is strictly limited. If you want to write a lot of text, it is better to register on Facebook. But we think you already know. Our job is to warn.
The first thing you need to do is, of course, register. Only those who have taken the time to register on the microblog can publish various types of posts, gain readers, and in general use all the functions of the site. Now please read a couple of tips that will help you understand how to blog on Twitter most effectively and with better results.
- When registering on Twitter, provide accurate information and create a complex password for yourself. It should not be just one word or represent the day, month and year of your birth. It is better if it is a random set of numbers and letters that are in no way related to each other. Remember it and write it down in some notebook. No matter who asks you for it (even if they pretend to be the Twitter administration), do not give it to anyone.
- After registering, be sure to fill out your profile. Place a thematic avatar (this can be your most successful photo or any picture). Please keep in mind that the image must not violate the site's rules. In general, what you need to understand is that the page should be as full as possible. After all, empty profiles, as a rule, do not arouse interest among visitors.
- But, the most important thing is, of course, not a completed profile, but interesting entries in the feed. So, first, we recommend that you choose a topic. Some people devote their microblog to politics (oh, not the best option), others to music. Some are interested in personal development, while others simply share their own thoughts on this or that matter. The most important thing is interesting content, then the number of readers will grow.
- There is one more secret. On the microblog you will find many people who are not against mutual subscription. That is, you subscribe to their updates, and they subscribe to yours. We wrote about how to properly look for such people in our article about. It really works, and very well. Let's put it this way: in a couple of days you can gain 1000 readers.
- How often should you write posts on your small blog? In fact, the more often the better. Don't forget that they are short. Therefore, you can write at least a few a day. If this activity brings you pleasure, then such frequency will not be particularly annoying.
Now you know how to blog on Twitter correctly. The article was written based on considerable experience, so we recommend that you listen to all our advice. Remember that each of us must leave something in this world. And posts on Twitter, your thoughts and any advice to others are not at all a trifle, as someone might think. You don’t know whose mind, and how exactly, may be influenced by an accidentally read entry that you leave on your Twitter microblog. Hello, dear readers, dear Fikbook members and residents of other sites. I decided to write this article because I have long wanted to explain to at least someone how to use Twitter correctly. Of course, many people manage their accounts in different ways, but I will give some tips on how to become more popular, because I myself am a thousand-year-old. I will tell you in order and in as much detail as possible. 1. Yuz. Yuz comes from the word “user” - “user”. For non-Twitterers, I’ll explain in more detail. This is what comes after the "dog". I advise you to immediately decide on your username, because it is by this name that other users will mention you in their tweets. Naturally, they will be a little confused when they can't find you. Personally, I've only changed my yuz twice in my entire life and I hope I never change again. 2. Yun. Yoon is your “user name”. If you find friends on Twitter, they will call you exactly as you recorded yourself in youth. The advice will be the same as in the previous paragraph: do not change yun too often. This is annoying, to say the least. I've made this mistake more than once. My boyfriend changed almost every day because I wanted to be original. I didn’t know then that my awl in one place would get on the nerves of others. I renamed myself until the moment when, having lost all my imagination, I put “Draculoid” in the youth. Believe me, after that I again had a desire to change my name, but, thanks to my laziness, I didn’t do it and to this day I’m called that way. I guarantee that I will never change again. And one more important thing. I'm not advising you to "be" celebrity body parts. Trust me, you'd rather put your own name on it than Shannon's Ear or Cumberbatch's Butt. 3. Design. As they say: you are greeted by your clothes, but you are seen off by your mind. Design plays a very important role in your Twitter life. Personally, I pay a lot of attention to this. Previously, the design included three components: the top, the header and the background. Yup – “user pic”, “user picture”. In short - an avatar. There you can put pugs of your favorite musicians/actors/athletes, etc. The header must be combined with the jupe (otherwise you will be eaten alive). As someone who tweets from a phone, I can tell you that the background doesn't matter to me, which is why I keep it in plain old blue. After a recent update, the background became almost unnecessary, but you have to select the headers more carefully, otherwise it will stretch so that instead of a beautiful picture there will be a set of pixels. 4. Bio. This is where you can briefly describe yourself so people know who they will be dealing with. You can insert a deep phrase or tags that will make it clear which fandom you are from (Fan + Kingdom). Just don’t overuse this, because you may seem like a rather dubious person, rushing from one thing to another. 5. Place of residence. I have never written my real city, because I know that I will not go to meet anyone. That's the kind of person I am. This is why I supposedly live in Aberdeen (yeah, yeah). 6. Tweets. The word itself comes from the English “tweet” - the chirping of birds. Users, scrolling through the feed, which I will tell you about below, will see your creations, which should fit into 140 characters. Stricter, dad, stricter! Well. Twitter uses the rule: “Brevity is the sister of talent.” This is why many people write about themselves in the masculine gender (including me), because the whole letter is preserved! But you shouldn’t remove spaces or punctuation marks because of the small number of characters. It will be even worse. It's better to divide your tweet into two short ones. It will be more convenient this way. You can talk about anything in your tweets - it's up to you. But if you want a lot of fans, then from time to time talk about something interesting. Agree, it’s not very pleasant to read a person who does nothing but text or write “I ate,” “I slept,” “I’m watching a movie.” Develop your imagination, gentlemen. 7. Anniversaries. An anniversary is a round or “interesting” number of tweets. Twitter people always celebrate moments when they reach +1000 tweets and mark it this way: 10K (10 mowers /yes, that’s what they mean on Twitter for a thousand/) I dedicate to: @someone1 @someone2 And the like. Some also commented on the number of tweets I described as "interesting." These numbers are 3333, 4444 or 123456 tweets. I hope I explained it clearly. And yes. Try not to dedicate tweets to your loved one. After all, if you mention someone, then this is another plus in your piggy bank. 8. Lists and favorites. In the lists you will mark those people whom you will not forget. For example, you are holding a competition and you need to remember all the participants, or especially active ones. You create a list, name it and do everything according to the instructions. Favorites. An old friend of mine said, “If you want to know more about a person, look at their favorites.” Retweets will be forgotten and lost in your archive, and your favorites will always be in a separate place, which is very convenient. 9. Following and followers. The most important part of Twitter is followers. You will jump for joy when you see the addition because it really feels really good. I want to say an important thing: followers are not friends of VKontakte. You see, every day you tweet something. You write your thoughts, you show yourself. People passing by evaluate you. And only their decision is to read or not to read. No one will force them to “follow” you. This is their personal business. That's why I'm very proud that I have over 1000 followers. You will definitely have a moment when a wave of unfollowers arrives, and you will experience a mini-depression. Because of this, you will start reading everyone, waiting for follow-back (mutual following). Is not cool. It’s cool when people read you themselves, just because you’re interesting. When you understand this, you will begin to “cleanse” your account of strangers. Because of this, you will lose all those who followed you in return and again – depression. But this time you shouldn’t cry, you just need to work on yourself and continue to maintain your account. 10. Twi family. You will often come across concepts such as “Twitter husband/wife/child/grandmother/slave” and much more. When people communicate very closely on Twitter, they want to be something closer than pen pals. Therefore, for the sake of banter and coolness, they arrange a virtual wedding and start a virtual family. There can be any relatives in the family. The main thing is imagination. 11. Idol's answer. Twitter is unique in that all the screen and stage stars are on it. You can go to your idol’s account and read his tweets, perhaps reply to them and... go about your business, because the likelihood of a response is at zero level. But there are such lucky ones (that's me, envy) who were answered by their idols. This adds a hundred points to your awesomeness and makes you feel better because OH MY GOD HE ANSWERED ME. After this event, you can go show off and show off, because “mission completed.” 12. Tape. These are your family, your friends, your idols, your left-wing people. The feed is those people to whom you wish day and night, but they answer you only when you start whining that no one notices you. Twitter is a place of interesting events, a place where you can show yourself. The main thing is to understand how to do it. Good luck.
I'm new to Twitter. Where to start?
Let's assume that you already have a Twitter account(s) (you registered them yourself or bought them somewhere) and now you need to start promoting them and filling them with content. Below we will tell you step by step how to do this competently and safely.
Basic Concepts
- Account- Twitter page like http://twitter.com/MY_ACCOUNT. The user receives MY_ACCOUNT (aka login) upon registration. The login can only contain Latin letters, numbers and the "_" sign. Each account is unique. You can log in to your account either by specifying your username and password, or by e-mail (specified during registration) and password.
- Ban account– blocking (suspension) of a Twitter account for one reason or another. The owner of the account can log into such an account, but tweets from a blocked account are not visible to other users.
- Followers- those Twitter accounts that you follow. The number of followers is displayed in your account.
- Followers (readers)- those Twitter accounts that follow you. The number of followers is displayed in your account.
- Tweet- a message up to 140 characters in length, which the owner of the Twitter account posts on his Twitter account. After posting a tweet, it is added to the account owner’s feed and also appears in the feeds of followers of this account. The number of tweets is displayed in your account.
- Tweet ID- a unique (within the Twitter service) numerical value that allows you to distinguish one tweet from another.
- Retweet- transferring a tweet from another account to your feed. A retweet becomes visible to all followers of this account.
- Replay- public appeal on behalf of one account to another account. The replay is visible to all followers of this account.
- DM (direct message)- a private message that is visible only to the sender and recipient.
- Follow- increase the number of those you read.
- Unfollow- reduce the number of those you read.
What is Twitter for?
Twitter is typically used for three things:
- This is exactly what it was created for - for communication, traffic to the site, etc.
- For SEO activity.
- For monetization (which does not exclude the first two points of this list).
In the first case, you will need a live audience interested in what you are writing about. For example, if you have an account for an online store of goods for car enthusiasts, this means that you will need readers who are car owners. From lovers of, for example, pets, most likely you will not receive any communication, no clicks to your site, no retweets.
In the second case, everything is not so categorical. Here, the usual task is to push new pages into the search engine index using Twitter and/or raise pages higher from the TOP for low-frequency queries. The live audience is not important here, rather the number of followers is important. But here, too, you need to understand that if all your followers are bots, then such an account may simply be ignored by search engines.
How and what to fill your Twitter account with?
Before starting promotion, Twitter accounts need to be prepared - set a custom avatar, change the background, fill out the “About Me” field and then start filling it with content.
Content means posting tweets, as well as activities such as replies and retweets. For each of these actions in the program Twidium Accounter there is a project of the same name. There is also a project that allows you to quickly change your avatar, background, description, etc. in a whole group of Twitter accounts. You can get acquainted with each of the projects by reading the program help:.
How to promote a Twitter account?
Promotion of Twitter accounts means increasing the number of readers (followers). In addition to the obvious way - to talk about your wonderful Twitter account everywhere, there is a purely technical method called “mass following”. Its essence is to find and follow Twitter accounts that are similar in topic to your account. After receiving a friend request, the account owner will visit you. If you have an interesting account, he will follow it back.
Our program takes care of searching for thematic accounts and following them. Twidium Inviter. As you work on your account, the number of accounts you read will first increase. After some time, the number of people reading you will begin to grow. Then you can unfollow those you no longer want to read. IN Twidium Inviter this process is called "Unfollowing".
You can read about how to safely promote Twitter accounts in our manual on the page.
