As practice shows, the adapter (or both) is mostly missing for three reasons:

  1. The adapter is simply not in your device. As I wrote above, PCs usually do not have a built-in Wi-Fi module. And accordingly, it cannot be displayed in the device manager.   2. The driver for Wi-Fi or Ethernet adapter is not installed. This is the most popular reason. Try the “connected” option and look for your lost device in the list that opens. If it is not in the list, it means that the computer has not yet detected it. After we have found out the equipment identifier, we should copy its name (right-click - copy) and enter it into the browser search field. After downloading the necessary program, you can begin installing it.

To install/update the network adapter driver, you need to go to the “Device Manager” as described earlier. Select the required item and in the context menu, which is accessible by right-clicking, select “Update drivers...”.
