MGTS mobile communications customer reviews. Mobile communications from MGTS. Detailed description of tariffs - in attached files

Rating: 4

I haven’t written reviews before, but for some reason I wanted to. I guess I just want to use the services of an organization that will satisfy not only my needs, but also maintain the quality of service at the highest level. By the way, the latter is still lame.

I have been using the company's services for a long time. Like probably many others. I am quite satisfied with the quality of the services provided. There are many channels on TV, which, of course, I don’t watch all of them. The main thing for me is signal stability. I watch few channels, but the quality of TV triples for me. I use home internet. The speed is quite enough for me, especially the new one. They even change the router to a new one, albeit at my request.

As for Mobile communications, everything is more complicated here. Works in many places, very well, but not everywhere. I often visit friends’ dachas in the Moscow region, and the quality of communication there is generally disgusting. Catches in 2 places throughout the house. It’s the same story on the site (so that they don’t think that the aluminum roof reflects the signal). It’s not even worth talking about the Internet there. There's a minus here. Otherwise, convenient communication. All your loved ones are on MTS, so it’s beneficial to communicate with them. And the bill comes as a whole in the receipt with the phone, so you don’t worry about being left without communication.

The downside, of course, is the support/sales service and the attitude towards customers. Here's a real life story:

In January they called me and offered to switch to more favorable conditions. I won’t go into details of the conditions now, it’s not important. Nevertheless, I understood what was being offered to me and I was interested in only one question: how much more expensive? For myself, I understood the price/quality ratio of the new package. They reported that it would cost only 300 rubles more. In the first full month under the new conditions everything went fine. As promised, I overpaid 300 rubles. But then the fun begins. As it turns out, with the transition to a new package, the trial period of Amediateka Premium is automatically activated. Of course, no one warned me about this, because I would have turned it off as unnecessary.

Then in the new statement I see the connected service and contact the support service in VK. I get a dry answer in the style of “it’s all their own fault, everything on the site is there.” What we end up with is an overpayment in the bottom line that turns out to be more after the first month, if you don’t turn off the add-on. plastic bag. In my opinion, it’s worth warning about this if you call and offer something. Pain/sadness/longing. Now the money cannot be returned, as the support assured, although the amount is not large. It's a shame. Take OKKO for example. The subscription was written off, I called and said that it was an accident, they returned it. Unless of course you used it. without unnecessary questions or reproaches.

I will say this: The company itself is good. The services are satisfactory. There is little customer focus. If I didn’t see it, it was my own fault. As for recommendations, I advise you to take links to the terms and conditions and read them in full. Or find out about all the hidden commissions from operators. Would I recommend it to friends? Not sure yet. As long as there is such an attitude towards customer problems, probably not.

Unfortunately, the review does not yet contain enough facts to qualify for a positive rating (the tariff policies of companies are not assessed in the People's Rating). Please tell us about other examples of interaction with the company. What would you note about the provider’s work?

P.S. Thanks for the answer.

Mobile operators

MGTS is much better known to residents of the capital as a provider of landline telephone and home Internet services. High-speed GPON networks, digital television, smart home, security alarms - all this is quite familiar and even ordinary. But in addition to the entire range of services listed above, the range also includes mobile communications, which the operator provides to residents of Moscow and the capital region.

Story

Among all the companies present on the cellular communications market, MGTS can easily be considered the oldest. It dates back to 1882, when the first telephone network was created in Moscow. It is clear that there was no talk of any kind of mobile communications then, even in the dreams of science fiction writers, but the pedigree of the modern operator goes back precisely to those times.

In 1898, the organization was the first in Russia to open a long-distance communication line with St. Petersburg, survived the revolution, the civil war, and then the Great Patriotic War, in 1980 it provided communications for the Olympic Games, and in 2002 it opened access to broadband Internet to its subscribers.

By that time, the company was already an open joint-stock company, into which it was transformed in 1994 from a state-owned enterprise.

In 2006, MGTS subscribers were able to use the Mobile Home service, which was provided jointly with MTS OJSC. Its essence boiled down to the fact that when calling a landline number, you could set up forwarding to a cell phone if it was on a mobile network.

Perhaps this was the first event in the history of the operator that was at least indirectly related to cellular communications. At the same time, a new logo was introduced, created as part of the unification of the symbols of the companies of the Sistema Telecom group. It represents two squares familiar to MTS subscribers with an egg inscribed in one of them and the name of the company, but not in red, but in blue. Its author was the British agency Wolf Olins.

At the beginning of 2008, the company began developing digital television broadcasting, and a little later introduced a triple-play package system, which included all three types of services provided by MGTS at that time: landline telephone communications, digital television and high-speed Internet.

An important milestone was 2011, when the controlling stake in OJSC MGTS, owned by OJSC COMSTAR-UTS after the latter's takeover of OJSC MTS, became the property of the largest Russian telecommunications company.

Finally, in 2014, a virtual operator (MVNO) was created on the basis of MGTS. Since the company did not have its own cellular network, and no one was going to create one, the resources of the parent company MTS were used.

As a result, mobile voice, Internet and television services were added to the triple-play package, after which it turned into 6-play.

In 2016, additional offers were introduced for home Internet users who paid for a package with access speeds of 100 and 200 Mbit/s.

The former received the opportunity to use the operator’s mobile communications for free within the framework of the MGTS Smart mini tariff, the latter – NonStop. At the same time, a bonus program began to operate, the participants of which received bonus points when paying for the company’s services.

Today's day

To date, the range of MGTS services has expanded significantly.

In addition to landline and mobile communications, Internet and television, the company provides its subscribers with the opportunity to use smart home technologies, and, in addition, allows them to install video surveillance and security alarms in their homes. An important advantage is the provision of parental control if necessary.

A new direction “Home Operator” is rapidly developing, including a range of household services: repairs and cleaning of apartments, replacement of pipes and radiators, electrical work and assistance with computer equipment.

As for mobile communications, there are only two package tariffs available to users, for which roaming has already been canceled throughout the country. The more expensive one, called Smart NonStop Unlim, among other things, contains unlimited Internet traffic, which in general is not typical for the modern mobile Internet market.

The General Director of MGTS at the time of writing this review is Pavel Vladimirovich Kuznetsov, who replaced Andrey Ershov in this post in mid-2018. Before that, he headed the system integrator JSC Sitronics, part of AFK Sistema, and even earlier held a number of important positions in the administration of the Penza region.

The company's annual turnover has reached almost 20 billion rubles, and the number of employees is 8.5 thousand people. At the end of 2017, the subscriber base of the virtual mobile operator MGTS totaled 355 thousand subscribers.

Reviews about the company

Since the company is regional, and mobile communications is not its main specialization, the number of reviews is small.

Moreover, most of them relate specifically to the quality of the home Internet. However, there are also comments regarding cellular communications.

The author of the review not only used one of the operator’s tariffs for a long time, but subsequently connected to a more expensive one, which in itself says a lot.

It is also worth paying attention to the lack of contacts with technical support - during such a time there was simply no need for them.

Another review in which the author is satisfied with both the mobile tariff and the quality of the mobile Internet using LTE technology.

There are reviews that mention promotions carried out by the company. In this case, the user received a smartphone as a gift.

And here the advantages of MGTS’s package approach to payment for communication services are demonstrated. For the same money, the subscriber not only kept his home phone, but also received a bunch of other features he needed.

Now - about the bad. There are almost 5 times more negative reviews than positive ones. In reality, this does not mean that the company is doing very poorly.

If a person is satisfied with the quality of service, then very rarely he can write a review without any motivation, for example, in the form of bonuses.

Immediately there were massive complaints about tariff increases, and without prior notification of subscribers about this sad fact.

Blocking a SIM card for unknown reasons led to the user being left without communication during a trip abroad.

There is probably not a single operator who has not been complained about due to problematic number porting. Either the employee fills out the passport information incorrectly, or something else happens. But in general, MGTS has surprisingly few such complaints.

Two more subscribers had problems while traveling abroad. Apparently, the company is not doing well with this.

Advantages and disadvantages

If we talk about the advantages of this operator, then Among them we can confidently include:
  • Good quality of communication and mobile Internet, which is not surprising, since MGTS uses the network of the country's cellular market leader; - package payment for services, which allows for significant savings.
  • Extensive range of services: the package includes not only landline and mobile communications, but also many other necessary features.
  • Compared to, for example, the Big Four operators, the number of complaints about paid subscriptions being connected without the knowledge of subscribers is simply ridiculous.
As for the minuses, there are two of them:
  1. Raising tariffs without prior notification to the subscriber. Although, on the other hand, where should he go? MGTS is included in the Register of natural monopolies in the field of communications; there is a problem with alternative fixed networks in the capital region.
  2. All sorts of problems when using mobile communications while traveling abroad.
In the national rating according to the portal banki.ru, MGTS was in a not very honorable eighth place. Above it in full were the Big Four, Rostelecom and two MVNO operators: and Tinkoff Mobile, which recently appeared on the market.

To summarize, we can safely say that for those residents of Moscow and the Moscow region who need high-speed home Internet, the opportunity to also receive mobile communications as part of a general package of services may be quite attractive.

For everyone else, it hardly makes sense to consider this option, since large cellular providers offer more flexible tariffs, and often more profitable ones, if considered separately from the package.

Everyone writes MGTS this, MGTS that, but in fact MGTS is just a pawn in this situation. The income of operators from fixed-line communications is insignificant, mobile communications, and especially the mobile Internet, is a different matter - this is a goldmine for operators now, here they will do anything to get at least a little ahead of a competitor, and even more so when we are talking about the most profitable for operators, Moscow region. And so the telecom operator MTS decided two years ahead of schedule - by 2015 - to complete a large-scale project to connect about 4.5 million subscribers of MGTS, a subsidiary of the largest cellular operator in Russia, to GPON fiber-optic communication lines
The acceleration of the timing of the “jiponization” of Moscow is due to the fact that telecom operators are actively working to launch LTE networks in the capital this year - in addition to MTS, Megafon, VimpelCom (Beeline brand) and Scartel have already announced their readiness to demonstrate the capabilities of the “fourth generation” "(Yota brand). However, a network with developed backbone channels is capable of providing laboratory LTE speeds in real life for thousands of users. And here MTS, as an operator investing in the development of optical fiber, may have an advantage. The fact is that in order to organize high-quality LTE coverage, operators need to install many times more base stations than for 3G, and a fiber-optic cable must be connected to each station - otherwise, the data transfer speed in a 4G network (expected 100 Mbit/s) will not differ from the speed in 3G (in Moscow, de facto, about 22 Mbit/s). GPON will allow MTS to connect LTE equipment almost anywhere it is needed, and maximum coverage quality can be achieved with fewer base stations. As a result, the construction of 4G will cost several times less. MTS, using the GPON infrastructure, also plans to install LTE femtocells in premises. MTS decided to trump twice, in addition to connecting LTE base stations, to deploy a network of LTE femtocells that will help cover the local areas of subscribers. Thus, the attack on the “white spots” of LTE coverage will come from two sides at once, which will solve the problem of providing a sufficient coverage area at optimal costs. This is the main reason for such a massive, accelerated replacement of copper with “glass”, and not at all the modernization of the network, as MGTS employees like to tell our gullible citizens, the resource of copper lines would last for a long time, but business comes first.
In total, as part of the GPON project, the operator plans to lay about 15 thousand kilometers of optical fiber in Moscow and the total investment in the project will be about $2 billion.\

I found out that MGTS is a subsidiary of the MTS company and was honestly freaked out,

The Russian telecommunications operator Mobile Telesystems OJSC and the Moscow City Telephone Network, which is part of the Moscow City Telephone Network OJSC, are creating a multi-service virtual operator (MVNO) in the capital region. Representatives of the companies announced this at a press conference on Friday. The new operator will start working on Monday.

Starting from September 8, customers in Moscow will be able to take advantage of a package offer that includes mobile and Internet services along with broadband Internet access, digital TV and fixed-line telephony. According to MGTS General Director Andrey Ershov, by 2017 MGTS plans to provide such services to up to 50% of the Moscow customer base. “We have almost completed the first full-fledged convergent product in Russia,” says Ershov.

Representatives of both companies assured that in the foreseeable future, clients of other mobile operators will have access to the service of switching to MGTS while maintaining their number, which is currently in testing mode.

The decision to create a multi-service operator was caused by a drop in voice traffic from traditional mobile service providers, MGTS Marketing Director Dmitry Kulakovsky told reporters. The new integrated operator will use the network infrastructure and frequencies of MTS, while MGTS will provide its own number base and Internet, digital TV and landline telephone services, he explained.

As Andrey Ershov reported, MGTS users will have access to three comprehensive service packages - Silver, Gold and Platinum, combining mobile and fixed-line services using GPON technology - an optical network that provides multifunctional broadband Internet access. The cost of the Silver package, which includes home telephone and Internet, a digital TV package of 79 channels, as well as a mobile number with the prefix +7 (985) 905, will be 650 rubles. per month.

Gold and Platinum packages include expanding the standard options for home telephone and digital TV, increasing Internet speed and receiving SMS packages and minutes for mobile communications. At the same time, the system allows you to connect up to five mobile numbers to a single MGTS user account and receive a single invoice for all services.

Kulakovsky told Gazeta.Ru that the cost of roaming services and calls to numbers of other operators for the standard Silver package will be the same as for MTS.

The multiservice operator created by MTS and MGTS will not remain the only one for long.

“We are planning to launch converged products for the whole family, including mobile communications, home Internet and television. Unlike MTS, we provide all of the listed services from one legal entity, so we do not need an MVNO scheme,” the Beeline press service told Gazeta.Ru. The company representative did not specify when the services are planned to be launched.

“The creation of MVNO is the right direction for the development of the fixed broadband access market, which has almost reached saturation,” noted the Megafon press service. “However, the demand for this product depends to a large extent on how well the services are implemented, how convenient they are for the user, what the cost of the offer is, and so on.”

“MGTS’s offer is very interesting for customers, since this company is a monopolist in the Moscow region in fixed-line communications. MGTS is trying to reduce the outflow of fixed-line subscribers by discounting a number of services in the complex. Considering the extreme competition in the field of the Internet and digital TV, MGTS and MTS will use their existing customer base to sell a whole range of services under a single brand,” Otkrytie-Capital analyst Alexander Vengranovich told Gazeta.Ru.

In his opinion, companies are unlikely to encounter technical problems, but the growth in demand will directly depend on marketing support and ensuring the declared quality of services.

Vengranovych sees a single account as an important competitive advantage for MGTS, as well as the future possibility of switching to MGTS while maintaining the number. “This offer will be especially interesting to corporate clients, since today companies are trying to optimize costs, and preserving the number can seriously help with this,” the expert concluded.

Vengranovic also believes that Beeline will soon try to create a similar product, using its powerful presence in the field of broadband Internet access. “However, they do not have fixed-line services, which will not allow them to create a completely similar product,” the analyst believes.

The concept of an MVNO operator is currently extremely popular in Europe, Asia, as well as in the USA and Canada. The ten largest MVNOs in 2013 accounted for 1.4% of the global mobile communications market by number of subscribers, another 0.4% accounted for other MVNOs not included in the top ten.

The offerings of cellular telecom operators increasingly go beyond providing only mobile communication services. Today, you can get both cellular and home services from one company. All federal companies that offer combined packages provide services under a common brand. MTS has a slightly different approach, or rather in a separate region. So, in Moscow, on the operator’s website, we can leave a request for a home Internet connection, and as a result, the service is provided by the MGTS operator.

Today we will tell you everything about the home and mobile services of the MGTS operator, and we will try to figure out why such divisions occur, how the tariffs differ, and what the benefits are for the company and subscribers.

Which operator is more mobile?

The division into MTS and MGTS has developed historically. Moscow city telephone networks appeared at the end of the nineteenth century. Until 2009, it was a state company, and after the transformation into a joint stock company, private owners appeared in it. This is what started the process, as a result of which the new owners introduced it into the MTS group of companies. This also explains the fact that shareholders still retain the name of the company, which has a history of more than a century.

However, evolution does not stand still, and together with MTS, MGTS also received the status of a mobile operator. In fact, the operator is virtual, since mobile communication services are provided on the infrastructure of the MTS network, so there is one coverage map for two. You can become a subscriber only in Moscow and the region, but you can use your mobile phone throughout the entire MTS coverage area - make calls and use the Internet.

Positioning MGTS as a separate mobile operator allows you to increase your subscriber base through those subscribers who have a positive attitude towards a brand with a history. They have the opportunity to use tariffs that are slightly different from standard MTS offers. Among the advantages is a credit payment system. All services from the company in one bill - for mobile and home telephones, wired Internet and television.

There are also a number of advantages for MTS subscribers. Possibility to use the full range of communication services on special terms. Yes, and bonus points for home services can be awarded to MTS Bonus, and spent both on communications from MTS and MGTS.

What are the differences between tariffs and services?

At first glance, MGTS tariffs for mobile communications are not very different from those of MTS and even the names are the same. In general, these are the tariffs of the “Smart” line before the latest update in MTS, and if you carefully read the conditions, then in some ways they are even more profitable. Thus, intranet unlimited for all mobile and landline numbers of MGTS in Moscow, as well as for cellular MTS throughout the country, and the monthly fee is lower. The only noticeable difference is a smaller package of messages, which is spent on all MTS numbers across the country at separate tariffs.

There are four tariffs in the MGTS line - three for phones and one for tablets. The minimum tariff is not only cheaper than MTS’s one of the same name, but package minutes are not limited to the capital region - they can be used on all cellular and landline phones in Russia.

Other tariffs do not have this advantage of package minutes. The difference from similar ones in MTS after the spring update is the lack of transfer of unused packages, which is compensated by a lower monthly fee. MGTS also offers services that allow you to save on roaming around the country and the world. They completely coincide in cost and names with MTS.

You can check your balance, set up mobile Internet on your phone, and pay for MGTS services in the same way as on MTS - you won’t find any differences. Even short USSD commands are completely the same.

What distinguishes MGTS subscribers from clients of other operators is that checking your balance on a mobile phone is largely pointless, since there is always a minus there. This can only be avoided by paying for the entire range of services up front, but then all the advantages of the credit system in MGTS and the possibility of obtaining a single account are lost. The only limitation is that the minus should not exceed three thousand rubles.

conclusions

The division of operator services into two brands has both positive and negative sides. In the case of MGTS, the division is justified for the company in the name of preserving the historical brand. Although it is possible that the integration of the two divisions will eventually lead to complete unification.

For subscribers, the separation also has undeniable advantages, which include the ability to use tariffs that are lower in cost, but are absolutely identical in quality.
