The vast majority of users who have already appreciated the innovation speak sharply negatively about the new YouTube design. Thus, in the comments to the news, out of almost 4 thousand messages, there are hardly a couple of dozen satisfied with the new design:

One gets the complete feeling that the developers, in principle, are not interested in the opinions of users - they have some kind of their own vision, which they seek to impose on everyone else. Why not, for example, make it possible to alternatively select the same size of video icons: if you want, leave the large size as it is now, if you want it as before, switch to the view that is familiar to you.

Method 1 - the easiest

Method 3 - difficult

I’ll show you using the Google Chrome browser as an example, but similar tools are available in other browsers. So, being on the main page of YouTube, press the key combination Crtl+Shift+I. In the window that opens, select “Console”. Where the cursor blinks, paste the code:

Method 4 – optimal

From the Google Chrome app store, install the “Classic Youtube” extension.

The extension icon will appear to the right of the browser's address bar. The inscription NEW on it means that a new design is currently activated, OLD means the old one. Switching between them is done on the fly by clicking the left mouse button on the icon, which is a big advantage of this method over others. This is what I recommend for use as it is the most convenient.

When the new YouTube design was introduced, the old design could be returned to the site menu in just a couple of clicks. Some time after testing, this feature was removed and it became impossible to return the old design in a simple way. Not everyone likes the new design, and there are reasons for this. The tablet interface on a computer is not very convenient, and the new design is too monotonous. The question arises: how to return the old YouTube design when officially there is no such possibility.

On the Internet you can find a way to return the old design using a creative studio, but this method is inconvenient and does not always work. There is an easier way, which you can read about below. It works in all popular browsers and does not require the installation of any programs or extensions. All you need is a browser and the correct execution of these instructions. For each browser, 2 methods are described. One is simple, the second is more complex. Both of these methods do exactly the same thing. Which one to use is up to you.

Among other things, if your computer, to put it mildly, is not new, then the videos will probably constantly slow down, and the site itself will lag in every possible way. To call the menu with extensions, you should open the drop-down menu in the browser from the upper right corner (the procedure may differ depending on the browser at hand), and then you need to open additional tools and select the section you are looking for.
