Twitter continues to gain momentum both as an advertising platform and as a website promotion tool for webmasters. Not long ago it became possible to design your Twitter account with a new header. You can download the hat or make it yourself using Photoshop.

Previously, on Twitter you could only change the background, but now, with the opportunity to insert your original header, it opens up the opportunity to make your website or services more visible to Twitter users. A header is a kind of background on which your photo, name and account status are placed. It is better to make the header on Twitter original and memorable, capable of hooking the user.

If this is a corporate account, try to ensure that the header displays your product or service, displays the company logo and contains contact numbers. The size of the header image for a tweeter is recommended to be 1252×626 px and the file size is no more than 5 MB. To change the header image, you need to go to the Settings-Profile-Change header image section. Upload images (samples of headers are presented below) and click save.

Background

In February 2014 at twitter.com We started testing a new profile design. It was very reminiscent of the design of Facebook or even Google+. The main feature was its adaptability to different screen sizes.

In April 2015, Twitter officially unveiled the new design to the public. Now we will have to work on our profile again.

Twitter header image template

I don't know how to create, but I know how to use what others create. In this article, I invite you to get acquainted with the Twitter header image template proposed by Pauline Cabrera(Pauline Cabrera) and slightly modified by me to standard.

A special feature of the Twitter header image is the adaptability of its size and proportions to the devices used by the user. It is important for us to know what the user will and will not see.

The following was determined by trial and error: Twitter header image template.

This is also a rather conventional, but close to reality, version of the markup. You may need to customize your design or use the ready-made design I added to the template.

The proposed ZIP archive (1.4 MB) contains a PSD (Photoshop) file. The layer with markings is placed in a folder Templates. Examples in a folder Example. My version of a header image for Twitter in a folder Design. The Design folder contains several subfolders:

In this case, you will need to give access to the settings of your Twitter account. Everything else will happen automatically.

Not long ago, Twitter developers pleased us with another interesting innovation. Now you can customize the header design on your profile. An original effect is obtained by combining an avatar and a picture in the header. In today's lesson we will try to do just that. To do this, first select a beautiful picture for the avatar and at the same time for the header. After this, we’ll create a new document in Photoshop and set guidelines to designate the avatar’s area. Next, save the header image and avatar separately. And finally, we upload it all to Twitter and get our own profile design.

Step 1.
Create a new document in Photoshop measuring 1252x626 pixels.

Step 2.
In the upper left corner, create a rectangle measuring 540x60 pixels.

Step 3.
Then we create a square 175x175 pixels in size and lean it against the lower right corner of the white rectangle, as in the image below. We install guides on all sides of the square.

Step 4.
Now we take any picture that we want to install in the header. It is advisable that the image size is no less than 1252x626 pixels. At the intersection of the guides we set a part of the picture that will be the avatar on Twitter.

Step 5.
After this, save the first image in its entirety, 1252x626 pixels in size. Then we crop the image to the size of the avatar and save the second image with a size of 175x175 pixels.

Step 6.
Go to your Twitter account and select “Settings”.

Step 7
Update 11/22/12: The developers have moved the block for changing the image in the header to the “Profile” menu item. Next, in the menu on the left, select “Design” and click on the “Change header image” button. In the dialog box that opens, select the first image on your computer and upload it.

Step 8
At the next step, we will be asked to adjust the scale of the picture, if necessary. After that, click “Save”.

Step 9
Now in the menu on the left, select “Profile” and click the “Edit photo” button. Upload the second picture of your avatar.

Step 10
As a result, we get our own Twitter header design.

P.S. Guard. Do you know that sometimes, in order for visitors to see the design of your website, you need to at least know
