Learns to write on the keyboard with both hands. The criteria by which we will choose a keyboard trainer. Virtuoso - hard keyboard trainer

Hello colleagues! Are you familiar with the expressions “fyva” and “oldzh”? If not, then I’ll tell you how next learn to type quickly and at the same time look only at the monitor, without looking at the keyboard. I’ll tell you about the online services that I use myself and about the tricks that help speed up the process. Go!

Many people can admit that they type on a keyboard much more often than they write on paper with a fountain pen. Computers have become an integral part of our lives, the absence of which can complicate even everyday life and leisure, not to mention work related to information processing. The question of the possibility of fast typing comes up before people more often today than would have been expected five years ago.

While still at school, I took typing courses, this was the year 2001. We studied on typewriters and paper, so the teacher could track all our mistakes. Now you can learn how to quickly type on your own by resorting to training, without wasting money and time on travel.

But to do this, you must not only remember the location of the symbols on the keyboard, but also accept several conditions:

  • Regularity of classes. Touch typing (this method is considered the fastest and most effective) involves working with muscle memory. Muscle memory develops through many repetitions. Scientists consider the minimum period for a durable (to the point of automatism) “recording” into muscle memory to be 40 days. If you regularly practice during this period, the ability to quickly type will remain with you for life;
  • Body and arm position. This point is often omitted, in the belief that typing teachers advocate it to prevent curvature of the spine. Health is important, but there are other reasons. The main reason is rationality.

Straight posture (straight spine) is the maximum speed of interaction between the limbs (in our case, fingers) and the brain. Another reason is the connection to the work of peripheral vision, the signals of which, bypassing the analytical center of the brain, create an express bridge between the fingers and the central nervous system.

When working on the keyboard, the elbows are in a “suspended” state, guaranteeing a greater degree of freedom for the hands and fingers.

You need to remember the initial position of your fingers on the keyboard, and during further practice, observe the “zone of influence” for each finger, even if at first it seems that it is easier to press a particular key with another finger, and not with the one recommended during practice. The typing system has been developed over many decades, the rationality of the position and use of fingers has been carefully studied. As soon as your fingers learn to work “as they should,” all feelings of discomfort will disappear without a trace.

Position of fingers on the keyboard: “fyva” and “oldzh”

A frequently asked question: “why are the letters on the keyboard not arranged in alphabetical order?” If you arrange the letters alphabetically, you can find them faster, right? But it's not that simple.

The main criterion for the placement of letters on the keyboard was the frequency of use of the letter. The letter “a”, for example, is used when typing more often than the letter “b”, so “a” was placed under the area of the index finger, which we can use more confidently than the little finger (it’s not for nothing that beginners start typing with the two-finger method, using only the index fingers ).

Therefore, the most frequently used letters are collected in the center of the keyboard (the area for the index fingers), and those that are printed less frequently are collected toward the periphery.

Initial position of fingers. Touch the keys that show the Russian symbols “a” and “o”. These keys have raised markings. These are the “start” keys. They are needed so that you can find the correct position of your fingers without looking at the keyboard.

You need to learn to find the “start” keys as confidently as, with your eyes closed, you find your own tip of your nose with your finger. And this skill is developed like this: we look at the top of the monitor, and try to immediately place our index fingers on the “a” and “o” keys. Ten successful attempts in a row out of ten possible - and you can move on to the next exercise.

The fingers of the left hand at the starting position occupy the keys: “a” (index), “v” (middle), “s” (ring), “f” (little finger).

The fingers of the right hand at the starting position occupy the keys: “o” (index), “l” (middle), “d” (ring) and “z” (little finger).

Separation of keys by fingers

Each finger on the keyboard has its own “zone of influence,” which must be observed and ensure that the fingers do not violate each other’s “sovereignty.” This is achieved through persistent exercise.

The thumbs have the least amount of “sharing” between them: the left thumb “owns” the spacebar and Alt keys (on the left), and the right thumb works with the spacebar and Alt keys (on the right). More temptation to “violate sovereignty” occurs with “confident” fingers – the index and middle fingers, which are drawn to the keys of the little and ring fingers.

Practicing so that the finger does not jump to the key of another finger is carried out by typing training words and sentences that include letters from adjacent zones.

Hitting the key

A common beginner mistake: hitting the key too hard. It is possible that on mechanical typewriters the force of the blow has some significance, but on electronic devices the blow can be easily replaced by simply pressing the key. You don't need much force to close the contact under the keyboard.

Strong impacts not only lead to rapid typing fatigue, but also significantly slow down the process itself.

In order to remove the main load from the fingers, you can use the rule: pressing is carried out with the pad of the finger, and the pressing involves not so much the muscular strength of the finger as the weight of the hand. The hand resembles a centipede that steps (or jumps) its fingers from one key to another.

Touch typing rhythm

Developing rhythm is another secret for fast and error-free typing on the keyboard. But you need to move on to working with rhythm only when you have completed all the previous exercises. Fingers must accurately and confidently know their own keys (Remember “fyva” and “oldzh”).

You need to start practicing with rhythm at a slow pace. The main task in this case is to achieve error-free typing at a given (even) rhythm. Taking into account the growth of skill, the speed of the tempo when typing also increases, but the criterion of quality always remains - the evenness of the rhythm (without acceleration or deceleration) and the accuracy of the fingers hitting their own keys.

Many creative people, when the long process of comprehending speed typing is behind them, seem to let the rhythm “free”, and it begins to “guide” their imagination, clarifies analytical decisions, and sets the pace of work as a whole.

  • The main mistake in mastering fast typing is irregularity. The best condition is daily exercise until the desired mastery is achieved;
  • The pace of classes is set too fast. Fatigue accumulates day after day. It’s better to do one exercise every day than to torture yourself with a dozen exercises a day. They often quit classes just because they are tired, and the result is less than expected;
  • The pace of classes is set too slow. The exercises should be a little stressful and force you to achieve new achievements. Relaxed execution does not lead to development. The activity turns into a useless pastime.

As you understand, I didn’t learn anything from the school typing courses; I forgot everything over time because I didn’t have the proper practice. I learned to type with the ten-finger method again, this time consciously with the help of services on the Internet. Here they are:

  • Vse10 (address: vse10.ru) - with statistics and sequential lessons. I recommend it for beginners;
  • Klavogonki (address: klavogonki.ru) is a place for training, there are several different modes.

By spending 10-15 minutes a day, you will notice results within a month, and another 2 months of regular training will help you learn to type on the keyboard so quickly that you will forget your old method. Good luck in your endeavors!

How to quickly learn to type on a keyboard?

Hello, friends! In our modern world, there is probably not a single person who does not know what a computer and keyboard are. Moreover, everyone knows what a keyboard is for and how to type on it. Many people type information for work, students, schoolchildren for study, some simply correspond on social networks while sitting at the computer in their free time, and even more so, a blogger needs to be good at typing on a keyboard.

True, few people type quickly on a keyboard, but many would like to master these skills. After reading this article, the answer to the question of how to quickly learn to type on a keyboard will no longer be relevant for you, since here you will learn how to quickly learn to type on a keyboard for free and on your own.

First, let's talk about several advantages of fast typing on the keyboard.

Firstly, by learning to quickly print huge texts and articles, a person saves time, which we need in the present time. After mastering the skills of fast typing on the keyboard, you will learn to enter texts more calmly and rhythmically, which will significantly reduce psychological and physical stress. That is, you will get more pleasure from the typing process, and if this is your job as a copywriter or rewriter, then from the work in general.

Secondly, workers who have good computer skills and, especially, fast typing on a keyboard are now very valuable.

Thirdly, when you work at a computer, we often move our eyes from the screen to the keyboard, so our eyes get tired. Once you learn how to quickly type on a keyboard, your eyes will be healthier.

How to quickly learn to type on the keyboard?

First you need to sit down at the computer correctly. Look at the picture, your posture should be straight, your legs should be parallel to the floor, your eyes should look down at the monitor.

This rule is golden and should not be broken. Also, in the process of learning to touch type, it is strictly forbidden to look at the keyboard, but to make work easier, you can use a virtual keyboard.

Also, you need to remember how the keys are located on a regular keyboard. There is an exercise for this: look at the top row of keys for 10-15 seconds, remember and transfer them to paper. Thus, you need to remember the entire key row, also by transferring them to paper and repeating this several times each row.

Secondly, each finger of each hand has its own keys and you only need to press them. Next, I will tell you which finger should press which key. You need to learn correctly from the very beginning, as it will be difficult to relearn.

As promised, I’m writing how the fingers should be positioned on the keyboard. Let's start with the little finger, it is responsible for the letter "F", the ring finger for the letter "Y", the middle finger is assigned to the letter "O" and the index finger is placed on "a". Happened FYVA. Place the four fingers of the right hand over the letters OLJ(deciphered Very Easy to Achieve What You Want), the index finger is on the “O” key and the rest of the fingers in order. The space bar is pressed with the edge of the thumb of both hands, that is, when the last letter is on the left hand, the space bar is pressed with the thumb of the right hand, well, if the last letter is pressed with the right hand, then the space bar is pressed with the thumb of the left hand.

Of course, it is impossible to learn how to quickly type on a keyboard in this way, so you need to use special simulators.

I myself became interested in touch typing on the keyboard about 4 years ago. And I came across a simulator that could be used to train in demo mode. I really liked it because it is not intrusive, the design is calm and friendly. There are jokes there that will cheer you up if suddenly something doesn’t work out. After reading them, you do the exercises again with new strength and mood. The program is called SOLO. It was developed by a psychologist and journalist, teacher at Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Vladimir Vladimirovich Shakhidzhanyan and has been tested on thousands of students around the world. The course “SOLO on the keyboard 9.0” is designed for daily training over several weeks of lessons. If all requirements are met during the learning process, the author guarantees the acquisition of the skill of the ten-finger touch typing method on a computer keyboard, as well as the opportunity to increase typing speed and gain the right psychological attitude during classes

Here are two more simulators for touch typing. Try them all and choose the one that suits you best.

Stamina - the first version of this simulator was released in 2000. But as time has shown, the simulator is still relevant. Stamina is also available online, so you can try it right now. Download on this site http://stamina.ru/

VerseQ is a fairly well-known exercise machine that is suitable for everyone: from a beginner to a professional master. He will be a good teacher for beginners, he will help those who continue to improve the speed and quality of typing, and for professionals to maintain their form.

On the Internet you will also find online services that help you increase the printing speed that you have. On the website klavogonki.ru you can compete in typing speed with novice users like you. The service is very interesting, I liked it.

Based on the above, a couple of tips on how to learn to type quickly on the keyboard:

1. As mentioned above, fingers must be held exactly above the letters assigned to them.

2. Never look at the keyboard.

3. Sit correctly, straight.

4. Take your time, rush is typical for beginners. But I want to say that in the beginning, rushing will not help you; first of all, you need to type correctly and competently, and then pick up speed.

5. To work on training simulators, choose a time when you are not distracted by anyone or anything and your state of mind is relaxed and balanced.

6. And if the workout begins to irritate you, then it’s time to rest or even complete it until you’re completely rested.

8. And finally, when you have mastered touch typing skills on the keyboard one hundred percent, do not forget to improve your knowledge. Train on the machines from time to time.

9. There are ergonomic keyboards, where the panel is divided into two parts, for more comfortable typing and working on the keyboard. It is very convenient for those who have already mastered touch typing on the keyboard.

In this article I tried to cover the topic quite fully, which I think happened. And it turned out to be useful for everyone. If you liked the article, like it so that your friends, after reading it, will also learn how to quickly type on the keyboard and subscribe to new articles. There will be more interesting topics, I promise!

Mira Iskakova was with you.

Welcome to the InetSovety.ru blog. From this article you will learn how to learn how to quickly touch-type on a keyboard, who needs it and why. Every person, without exception, knows that working with a computer is carried out not only for entertainment, but also for performing various tasks. Thus, almost all office workers working in serious and large companies type text while looking at the computer screen, and not at their fingers “flying” across the keyboard.

Many people wonder how this can be? Is it possible for a person to type without fear of making a mistake in the typed text? Yes, this is quite possible, and further we will give detailed answers to the question, how can you learn to quickly type on a computer?

How to improve your typing speed?

If you think that the interaction with the keyboard in your case leaves much to be desired, then one effective tool will help you, which is called the “touch typing method”. Many beginners in the field of speed typing make the same mistake - they simply sit for hours at the computer, entering various texts, while trying not to look at their hands. Needless to say that such an activity gives absolutely no effect?

If you want to learn how to quickly operate the keyboard, then the so-called touch typing will help you with this. This is a method that even turned “hopeless” beginners into real pros in the field of speed typing.

Touch typing - what is this method?

This method of typing has been known since those times when computers were not even heard of - since the end of the 18th century. At first, no one thought that the ten-finger printing method could have its own methodology - everyone learned this as they could and wanted. However, this technique began to produce positive results only when all the keys began to “submit” to specific fingers. This approach greatly facilitated the process of learning touch typing techniques.

This method was called ten-finger for the reason that during typing, absolutely all fingers of the hands are involved, even the little fingers, which, it would seem, are of little use in this matter. Do you find it difficult to learn this typing technique? This is wrong! And pretty soon you will see that quickly typing on the keyboard with both hands, despite your fingers, is easy and simple.

Touch Typing Basics

The touch typing method on a computer keyboard operates according to certain principles that must be taken into account. If you don't follow these rules, you will only waste time and achieve nothing. Here are the main principles of this technique.

  1. Distribute the keyboard keys among your fingers, if necessary, writing down all combinations on a piece of paper. You can even mark the keys with colorful stickers, making similar colored marks on your nails (for the initial stage of learning, this is a very good idea).
  2. When typing characters, it is strictly forbidden to look at the keyboard. This is the main mistake of beginners, and it is for this reason that many “students” lose patience and do not complete the stage of learning to touch-type on a keyboard.

On a note. You must be prepared for the fact that this technique will require a lot of effort and patience from you. At first, you will make a lot of mistakes and typos that you will have to constantly correct. However, over time, you will begin to develop a habit, which will soon develop into an acquired reflex. This way, no matter what keyboard you are working with, your fingers will press the right keys themselves.

The main advantages of speed printing

Touch typing has a number of advantages, and these are what make it as popular as it is today. Here are its main advantages:

  • the ability to type up to 500 characters in 60 seconds;
  • the ability to maintain the health of the cervical vertebrae, since their constant flexion and extension while switching attention from the keyboard to the monitor can lead to the development of cervical osteochondrosis;
  • avoiding rapid eye fatigue, which occurs when constantly moving the gaze from the screen to the keys;
  • reduction in general fatigue.

As you can see, touch typing on the keyboard is not only convenient, but also very useful. However, remember: do not violate the rules described above, otherwise you will have to come to terms with the fact that this technique will remain inaccessible to you.

Basics of teaching touch typing on the keyboard

The ten-finger touch typing method can be mastered if you follow certain recommendations. In this case, the location of each finger plays an important role, so the learning process must be taken seriously and as responsibly as possible. The main aspects of this technique will be outlined below.

General rules for typing letters

The position of the hands on the keys when touch typing is the same for all languages, which greatly simplifies the task. All rows are taken into account except the auxiliary one, which is located at the highest point of the keyboard (function buttons marked F). You must be able to operate all other keys.

The main rows for high-speed typing on the keyboard are those where the letters are located, as well as the buttons:

  • Alt (on both sides of the keyboard);
  • Enter;
  • space.

These are the main rows that you should distribute between all 10 fingers on your hands. To learn how to type quickly on a keyboard using this scheme, you need to start small. That is, study the first letter combinations (4 first and 4 last letters of the 4th row), and then start typing words using them. Gradually, you will gain experience that will allow you in the future to hold your hands correctly on the keyboard, namely at a distance of a few millimeters from the keys.

How to master the auxiliary keys?

So, you have learned how to quickly deal with a set of reference (letter) keys, and now it’s time to deal with the auxiliary row. This will be a little more difficult, since learning to type without looking at the keyboard is not as easy in this case as in the previous version.

Now we are talking about all the other keys, except for the function keys, which are located at the very top of the keyboard. Now let's take turns.

  1. The Backspace and Enter keys must be pressed exclusively with the right little finger.
  2. The Shift and Ctrl buttons are located on both sides of the keyboard and are also controlled by the little fingers of both hands.
  3. Tab is pressed with the left little finger.
  4. The Alt keys are pressed with your thumbs, as is the space bar.

As you can see, the ten-finger touch typing method on a computer is not a very complicated, but somewhat labor-intensive technique. However, when you fully master it, working on the computer will be easier and more enjoyable for you.

How to remember the main keys?

To quickly type on the keyboard, it is important to remember the location of the main buttons - letters and numbers. The main load is taken by the index fingers of both hands, since it is with them that you will press 6 keys (A, O, I, M, P, P and those nearby). If you look at the keyboard, you will see that all these letters are in close proximity to each other. And those located on the sides of them also fall under the control of the index fingers.

To remember the location of the basic letters, you need to follow these simple rules:

  • You need to learn the keys gradually, starting with the thumb of the right hand, then the left;
  • Then we operate with the middle fingers, naturally, also in turn;
  • then come the ring fingers;
  • the final stage is the distribution of keys between the little fingers.

That's the whole simple science, thanks to which, after a certain period of time, you will be able to bring all your actions when working with a computer keyboard to automaticity. To speed up this process, you can use a special touch typing program. With the help of such online simulators, you can not only quickly master the rules of fast typing, but also get great pleasure from the lessons. And this already significantly increases your chances of success.

Programs for teaching touch typing

How to learn to quickly type on a keyboard using a special simulator? In fact, there is absolutely nothing complicated about this, and understanding the principle of operation of such software is quite simple. Let's look at the most popular and effective simulators for teaching speed typing.

  • Keyboard solo

This is one of the most famous simulators for training typing on the keyboard. The program can be downloaded for free and installed on your computer, but it will be a trial version, so you will have to pay to use all its features.

  • Stamina

Stamina is a simulator that is popular because it teaches speed typing gradually. You can set the text you want to print yourself and start practicing.

This touch typing simulator allows you to train not only beginners, but also increase the efficiency of people who already have certain speed typing skills.

  • Touch Typing Study

This online touch typing simulator consists of 15 lessons, which make up a complete training course. At the same time, working in the system is so interesting and exciting that you won’t even notice how time has flown by, and you have already acquired the necessary skills.

If you want to learn how to quickly type on the keyboard, do not put off this lesson “for later.” Everything is not as difficult and scary as many people think, and the knowledge and skills gained in the modern world (the world of Internet technologies!) will definitely come in handy!

It is difficult to imagine the life of a modern person without a computer. If not at work, then at home a person has to view data on the Internet and use the keyboard. It would seem that the need for touch typing can arise only among people whose work involves typing information. But that's not true. Even with two fingers you can learn to quickly type text. In this case, the person will constantly change the position of his eyes: from the monitor to the keyboard. Lack of concentration affects the quality of vision. That's why any PC user should know how to learn how to quickly type on a keyboard.

How to quickly learn to type on the keyboard

QWERTY- the most popular English keyboard layout today. Its name comes from the leftmost letters of the layout. It was invented by Christopher Sholes 150 years ago in the USA. When working on typewriters, when the letters were arranged in alphabetical order, the hammers hit each other and often broke. Sholes separated the “popular” letters and this solved the problem. But the speed of work has decreased.

When forming the Russian keyboard, a different principle was used. The most commonly used letters were placed in the middle, under the strongest fingers, and “rare” ones under the weakest. But there is still a “blunder”. The comma is located on the same button as the period. This is problematic. How to learn to type quickly on the keyboard? It is enough to adhere to simple typing rules and keyboard culture. Let's look at them in more detail.

Correct hand position

    The hands should be perpendicular to the body, and the wrists should be bent at an angle of 105 degrees. While typing, your wrists remain motionless, only your fingers move. Each hand is responsible for its own part of the keyboard. You should not “press out” the keys. Try to hit the middle of the key for a long time. This will prevent typos from appearing and wasting time correcting them.

Use all fingers whenever possible

To reduce eye strain, just follow these rules:

    When typing, your fingers should be in the third row from the bottom. Moreover, the index fingers are above the letters O and A. The developers even specially provided them with small protrusions. This allows you to navigate without looking at the keyboard. The hands don't move. The eyes look only at the monitor. Look at the arrangement of letters on the keyboard and try to remember them. Use all your fingers as you work. To learn to type even faster, you should use the methods you’ve learned not only during training, but also at work. At first, the speed will be significantly reduced. But the more practice, the faster the results will come. The less you look at the keyboard, the more confidence you will have in the quality of your work.

Remembering key combinations

When working with text, there is often a need to copy and paste material from one place to another. Or quickly move from the beginning of the text to the end. For such purposes, speed dial keys are provided. Let us immediately note that the same combinations work equally both in documents and when surfing the Internet. The table below shows the most popular combinations:

Keys Operation
Ctrl+A Select all text on a page
Ctrl + C / Insert Copy
Ctrl + X / Shift + Delete Cut
Ctrl + V / Shift + Insert Insert
Ctrl+Z Cancel (back)
Ctrl+Y Cancel (forward)
Ctrl+W Close the current window tab
Ctrl+N Create a new element (document /open in new window)
Ctrl+R Update
Ctrl+S Save
Ctrl+F Find
Ctrl + ← /Ctrl + → Navigation by words not only in text, but also in the browser
Shift + ← / Shift + →
Shift + / Shift + ↓
Highlighting letters in text
Ctrl + Shift + ←
Ctrl + Shift + →
Highlight a word
(Ctrl) Home / (Ctrl) End Move to the beginning/end of text/line
Page Up/Down Go up/down
Ctrl+Tab ↹ Switching between bookmarks/windows of the same program
Ctrl+Shift+Tab ↹ Go to previous tab
Ctrl+T Open new tab
Ctrl+Shift+T Open a tab you just closed
Ctrl + Backspace Go to next page
Backspace Return to back page

Learning these combinations will make it possible to increase the speed of your PC.

To concentrate on the process of collecting information, you should create comfortable and healthy conditions.

    Do not cross your legs one on top of the other. This leads to curvature of the spine and veins, as a consequence. To rapid fatigue, loss of concentration. Legs should be bent at an angle of 90 degrees, feet should be placed on the floor or on a stand. Either held straight or leaned back in a chair. Eyes look at the monitor at an angle of 90 degrees. The distance to the screen should be at least arm length. The work area should be well lit.

These simple rules are known to everyone since school. After many years of sitting incorrectly at a PC, it is difficult to get used to them. But without them, it will be more difficult to quickly learn to type.

Blind typing method on a computer

Touch typing is a method of entering text in which a person does not look at the keyboard. Focusing on the text increases concentration and attentiveness. All fingers are involved in the process. Today, when computer technology has become firmly established in everyday life, the complexity of the task depends on the speed of typing. When typing correctly, the number of mistakes made is reduced and the time spent on work is reduced. The principle of all simulators is based on memorizing the location of the keys. In the form of games and hints, the user gets used to typing text with all fingers. At first this process takes a very long time. But with an increase in the number of completed tasks, the speed increases. That's why it's so important to learn how to quickly type on the keyboard.

Tell me honestly: do you include in your resume the item “Am I good at a computer?” I entered it without a doubt, believing that it implied knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point.

Fortunately, one day some kind people showed up and explained that I was giving myself too generous a compliment: being a confident PC user means not only being able to navigate office programs, but also typing at a speed of 150 characters per minute.

I had to learn a new skill...

I share my experience.

Quick typing technique using the ten-finger touch method

It's easy to learn touch typing, just have some patience. The process comes down to solving similar problems. In each lesson you:

  • find out which finger should press the next key;
  • practice the correct movement until it becomes automatic, tapping out training combinations of symbols.

This is in brief. Now - the details.

Scene

You will need a desktop suitable for your height and a full-fledged desktop PC (not a laptop!). It would be good if the keyboard was ergonomic - that is, with a key field divided in two and a “hump” in the center.

While practicing, you need to sit tight:

  • back straight;
  • legs bent at the knees, standing side by side;
  • Bend your arms at the elbows - almost at a right angle.

To achieve the last condition, place the keyboard at the appropriate height. Make sure its edge matches the edge of the table.

Your guides - FYVA and OLJ

Before starting the actual training, get used to basic position. Next to the letters a (f) and o (j) there are dash marks. Thanks to keyboard manufacturers, they can be found by touch.

The index finger of one hand is placed on “A”, and the index finger of the other on “O”. It turns out that on the left under the pads there is FYVA (ASDF), and on the right - OLJ (JKL;). The thumbs are placed above the space bar.

Relax your hands - imagine that each one is resting freely on a small ball. Barely touch the keys - at first it is permissible to feel them before hitting them, later they will begin to hang at a distance of 2 to 10 mm.

Don't lose OLJ and FYVu. Based on them, you will find all the other keys.

Five mocking demands

I present rules that, in fact, cover the entire theory of typing with ten fingers.

  1. You can't look at the keyboard. When you really want to, you can’t either. Look at the monitor display.
  2. The brush makes only vertical movements.
  3. Each finger touches strictly defined keys.
  4. When one finger moves, the others do not follow.
  5. The priority is accuracy, not typing speed.

It will seem to you that your fingers are somehow completely special, that you need to slightly adjust the dull standards. It is unlikely. It's almost certainly a matter of lack of habit.

Fingers protest!

Good good. Let's say your hands really aren't very flexible. Develop them.

I. Andreeva in the manual “Basics of the blind ten-finger writing method” (Cheboksary, 2009) offers the following gymnastics:

  • Starting position - arms bent at the elbows, placed on the edge of the table, hands raised up, palms facing each other. Perform rotational movements with each finger left and right.
  • Similar i.p. On the count of one, bend your fingers at the phalanges, on the count of two, straighten your finger. Repeat for each finger.
  • I.p. does not change. Make rotational movements with your hands left and right.
  • Place your palm on the table. On the count of one, focus on your palms; on the count, return your fingers to their previous position.
  • Raise your hands up, relax, drop them down, shake your hands.

I haven’t tried it myself, but I think there is a point in such gymnastics.

Skill training programs

It is most convenient to study in a ready-made program. She will determine the sequence of exercises, and the statistics of achievements, and will not let you get bored.

I used “Solo on the Keyboard” by V. Shahidzhanyan. Everything about the training suited me. I was irritated by the abundance of game elements like the interactive character Mixanatik and numerous accompanying jokes of various calibers, but this is a personal assessment. I don’t exclude the possibility that you and Mixanatic will get along. “Solo” can be installed on your computer or played online. Trial lessons are free, then you need to buy a subscription.

The online services sense-lang.org and staminaon.com/ru/ are quite good in their own way; everything is intuitive in them. To practice typing in English, I recommend keybr.com.

There are dozens of programs, there is no fundamental difference between them. Try a few and settle on the one that makes you feel comfortable.

Is it possible to study without using the program? Yes, although it's a little more difficult: no one will highlight your mistakes in red and compare yesterday's speed indicators with today's.

Look for an example book:

  • V. Kholkin, “Ten-finger method of touch typing on a computer” (St. Petersburg, “Bip”, 2000);
  • V. Andrianov, “Ten-finger method of printing on a computer” (St. Petersburg, “Peter”, 2004).

In them you will find detailed explanations and adapted texts to type on the keyboard. The second book contains more additional tasks than the first.

Lesson mode

Practice every day, setting aside at least half an hour per lesson. It's completely normal to spend the entire 30 minutes doing one exercise.
