iPad glass replacement cost. Cost of replacing glass on an iPad Is it possible to replace glass on an iPad
Fair, not overpriced and not underestimated. There should be prices on the Service website. Necessarily! without asterisks, clear and detailed, where technically possible - as accurate and concise as possible.
If spare parts are available, up to 85% of complex repairs can be completed in 1-2 days. Modular repairs require much less time. The website shows the approximate duration of any repair.
Warranty and responsibility
A guarantee must be given for any repairs. Everything is described on the website and in the documents. The guarantee is self-confidence and respect for you. A 3-6 month warranty is good and sufficient. It is needed to check quality and hidden defects that cannot be detected immediately. You see honest and realistic terms (not 3 years), you can be sure that they will help you.
Half the success in Apple repair is the quality and reliability of spare parts, so a good service works directly with suppliers, there are always several reliable channels and your own warehouse with proven spare parts for current models, so you don’t have to waste extra time.
Free diagnostics
This is very important and has already become a rule of good manners for the service center. Diagnostics is the most difficult and important part of the repair, but you don't have to pay a penny for it, even if you don't repair the device based on its results.
Service repairs and delivery
A good service values your time, so it offers free delivery. And for the same reason, repairs are carried out only in the workshop of a service center: they can be done correctly and according to technology only in a prepared place.
Convenient schedule
If the Service works for you, and not for itself, then it is always open! absolutely. The schedule should be convenient to fit in before and after work. Good service works on weekends and holidays. We are waiting for you and working on your devices every day: 9:00 - 21:00
The reputation of professionals consists of several points
Company age and experience
Reliable and experienced service has been known for a long time.
If a company has been on the market for many years and has managed to establish itself as an expert, people turn to it, write about it, and recommend it. We know what we are talking about, since 98% of incoming devices in the service center are restored.
Other service centers trust us and refer complex cases to us.
How many masters in areas
If there are always several engineers waiting for you for each type of equipment, you can be sure:
1. there will be no queue (or it will be minimal) - your device will be taken care of right away.
2. you give your Macbook for repair to an expert in the field of Mac repairs. He knows all the secrets of these devices
Technical literacy
If you ask a question, a specialist should answer it as accurately as possible.
So that you can imagine what exactly you need.
They will try to solve the problem. In most cases, from the description you can understand what happened and how to fix the problem.
iPad 2 GSM screen and display replacement
Use this guide to replace the screen and display of your iPad 2 GSM.
- Front panel - 14 steps;
- Display - 9 steps;
- Home button - 3 steps;
- Cameras - 3 steps.
Tools:
- Hair dryer (preferably with a narrow nozzle);
- Mediators for opening;
- #00 Phillips screwdriver;
- #0 Phillips screwdriver;
- Plastic opening tools;
- A set of double-sided adhesive tape.
Instructions for replacing the iPad 2 screen - Front panel.
Step 1
If the screen is cracked, cover it with adhesive tape to prevent glass shards from flying around and causing possible injury.
This will prevent the screen from being damaged further when opening it.
Do your best to follow the manual as described. However, if the screen is cracked, it will likely crack as you work, and you may need a metal tool to remove the glass shards.
Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes and be careful not to damage the display.
Step 2
The iPad 2 glass is held in place by adhesive distributed around the perimeter of the screen. To be able to detach the screen, heat each side of the iPad with a hairdryer.
To gain access to the inside of the iPad, there is a gap approximately 5cm wide in the ring of glue along the edges of the screen. It is located under the volume control button.
Insert the tip of the plastic tool into the gap between the front glass and the plastic frame just enough to widen the gap.
This may take some effort, so make sure you warm up this part of the screen with a hairdryer. Be careful and patient when widening the gap between the screen and the gasket, moving the tool up and down.
Step 3
Make sure you place the tool in the correct place - between the plastic frame and the front glass.
Step 4
When the tip of the plastic tool is wedged between the front glass and the plastic frame, insert a pick into the gap in close proximity to the plastic tool. After this, remove the plastic tool from the slot and push the pick deeper under the screen, about 1 cm.
While continuing to heat the edge of the screen, drag the pick along it to release the glue. Be careful, this may require considerable effort. If the pick gets stuck in the glue, rub it in the crack and continue pushing.
If you can see the tip of the pick under the glass, slightly pull it out of the slot. Although you won't break anything this way, some adhesive residue may end up on the display.
When the entire edge of the screen is detached from the case, insert another pick in the middle to prevent the glue from setting again.
Step 5
The next few steps require extreme caution.
The Wi-Fi antenna is attached to the bottom right edge of the iPad's back case using screws and a cable. Due to this position of the Wi-Fi antenna, you must act carefully, otherwise you may cause irreversible damage to it.
You'll have to remove the adhesive that holds the antenna to the front without damaging the thin parts that connect the antenna to the iPad's body. Follow these steps carefully.
Step 6
Place the pick in the lower right corner of the iPad, and with an upward motion, peel the touch glass away from the body.
Warm up this area with a hairdryer.
Pull the pick out from under the glass, but not completely, but so that its tip (about 1/8) remains under the glass.
Slide the tip of the pick along the bottom edge of the iPad, releasing the adhesive above the Wi-Fi antenna.
Step 7
After you have passed the Wi-Fi antenna with the pick (in close proximity to the Home button), insert the pick under the glass.
Gently move the tip of the pick to the right, releasing the adhesive holding the Wi-Fi antenna to the glass.
The antenna is attached to the iPad body using screws and a cable. This step separates the antenna from the front panel, allowing you to remove the glass without damaging the antenna.
Step 8
Continue removing the adhesive along the bottom of the iPad while heating it with a hairdryer. Pull the pick out just enough to avoid hitting the Home button, and reinsert it right after the Home button.
Once the bottom edge of the screen is detached from the case, leave the pick pressed under the front glass near the Home button to prevent the glue from seizing again.
Step 9
Warm up the top edge of the screen with a hairdryer. Slide the pick between the screen and the plastic spacer at the top right corner of the front panel and drag it along the edge, pulling it out slightly next to the front camera.
The glue in this area is very thick and may require a fair amount of force. Be careful and patient to avoid damaging yourself or your iPad.
Step 10
Continue peeling the adhesive along the top edge and drag the tip of the pick around the top left corner.
Step 11
Warm up the left edge of the screen with a hairdryer.
Move the tip of the pick along the left edge of the iPad.
The touchscreen cable is located approximately 5cm from the bottom of the iPad. Do not push the pick below 5.5cm of the left edge.
Step 12
Using a pick that is clamped underneath the bottom of the iPad, release the adhesive along the bottom left corner.
The touchscreen cable is located approximately 2cm from the lower left corner of the iPad. Be careful not to damage it.
Step 13
Using one of the picks, lift the lower right corner of the front panel and grab it with your fingers.
If the adhesive around the perimeter of the iPad has set again, insert a pick into the area where the glass is stuck and cut through the adhesive.
Step 14
Hold the front of the iPad by the top and bottom right corners and “open” the iPad by unscrewing the glass from the body.
If the glue has set again in some area of the screen, use a mediator.
Instructions for replacing the iPad 2 screen - Display.
Step 15
Remove four 2mm Phillips screws, securing the display.
Step 16
Lift the display from the right side (closest to the volume button) and place it on the front panel as shown in the second image.
Step 17
Use a plastic tool to carefully remove the two touchscreen cable mounts.
Make sure you are removing the fasteners and not ripping the entire socket off the board.
The fasteners are highlighted in red in the second picture.
Step 18
Use the edge of a plastic tool to disconnect the touchscreen cable from the shields on the board. Carefully remove it from the glue holding it to the body.
Step 19
Remove the touchscreen cable from the two sockets on the board.
Do not try to remove the front panel right away! The touchscreen cable runs under the display. To avoid damaging it, you must first remove the display.
Step 20
Using a plastic tool, remove the display cable retainer that holds it in the socket.
Step 21
Remove the display cable from the socket on the motherboard.
Do not pull the cable up when removing it.
Step 22
Remove the display.
Step 23
Remove the front panel.
Instructions for replacing the iPad 2 screen - Home button.
Step 24
The Home button is attached to the front panel with glue. Use a hair dryer to soften it.
Insert the plastic tool under the right side of the Home button fastener and pull up to release the adhesive.
Step 25
Using the above method, remove the adhesive on the left side of the Home button fastener.
Remove the Home button fastener from the front panel.
Step 26
Insert the edge of the plastic tool under the edges of the Home button.
Move the tool along the button body, removing the adhesive.
Remove the Home button from the front panel.
Instructions for replacing the iPad 2 screen - Camera.
Step 27
The camera is attached to the front panel using glue. Warm it up with a hairdryer to soften the glue.
Use a plastic tool to push the camera bracket away from the adhesive holding it to the front panel.
Be careful not to overheat the camera itself!
The camera bracket needs to be moved about 2mm to the right or left depending on which way you push it.
Step 28
Remove the camera bracket from the front panel.
Step 29
Congratulations, you've captured the screen!
If you are replacing your screen with a new one, remember that the new screen may have a protective film on the outside or inside. It needs to be removed.
To reassemble the device, follow the steps in reverse order. Typically, if you buy a new screen for the iPad 2, it either comes with double-sided tape attached around the perimeter, or double-sided tape comes with the tools. You can also use glue, but be careful not to stain the display with it.
When assembling, do not forget that you first need to connect the touchscreen cable, and only then install and connect the display.
When connecting connectors to sockets, be careful to insert the connector exactly into the groove and do not use excessive force - you may damage the connectors.

Articles and Lifehacks
Broken glass on a tablet screen is a very common problem. Many users are interested in how to change glass on ipad, and is it worth contacting a professional specifically for this? In fact, if you have the appropriate skills and experience, replacing the display glass along with the touchscreen (which are a single structure, since they are connected) will take no more than an hour or two, or even half an hour.
Why do you need to replace the glass on your iPad?
Most often, owners of iPad tablets turn to repair shops because the touchscreen needs to be replaced. In most cases, this happens after falls, mechanical damage, and so on. Despite the fact that the glass on an Apple tablet is very durable, it is still not capable of protecting it 100%. Even if small chips or scratches appear on the surface of the touch screen, it may partially lose sensitivity, and therefore the glass will need to be replaced one way or another.
So, if the iPad does not react at all to our touches, responds to them partially, or processes requests incorrectly, you should definitely find out how to change the glass on the iPad. Is it worth doing it on your own, or is it better to turn to a specialist?
Stages of replacing glass on an iPad and the pros of the service center
Let's start with the fact that not everyone can cope with this procedure. Suffice it to say that even a master is capable of inadvertently damaging any cable. In this regard, it is recommended to contact trusted service centers with qualified and experienced specialists. The fact is that such repair bureaus often provide a guarantee for the work they perform, which means that you won’t have to worry about your iPad. Their specialists deal with replacing glass and touchscreens every day, and therefore this is a familiar procedure for them. All elements of the “Apple” tablet are so tightly fitted to each other that the master must have a fairly high qualification and also be extremely careful.
Amateur action in this matter is unacceptable, since it can lead to extremely unpleasant consequences, and as a result, the iPad owner will have to overpay for repairs.
How to replace glass on a tablet? To begin with, the technician warms up the glass of the device around the entire perimeter using a soldering hair dryer. After that, he peels it off and carefully lifts it up. Then he unscrews the bolts, carefully removes the cable and removes the screen. The next step is to carefully peel off the touchscreen and remove the glass. After this, the surface is cleaned from glue residues. The “Home” button is removed and installed on a new touchscreen. All that remains is to reassemble everything, gluing a new glass, and check the functionality of the tablet.
