Huawei honor 8 pro smartphone black. ⇡ Technical specifications

Huawei Honor 8 Pro is the flagship smartphone of this line. The device was first presented at the end of February 2017 in China, and in Russia the official announcement took place in April. This is a full-fledged phablet with a massive screen, powerful hardware and a dual camera.

Appearance and ergonomics

The Huawei Honor 8 Pro smartphone has a fashionable, streamlined design. The high-quality all-metal body has rounded edges, as well as glossy 2.5-glass glass covering the display. There are no buttons on the front, and on the back there is a fingerprint scanner, dual camera, flash and logo.

The device is comfortable to use with one hand thanks to its excellent ergonomics. The camera lens does not protrude forward, and the build quality is at the highest level. Dimensions of Honor 8 Pro: height - 157 mm, width - 77.50 mm, thickness - 6.97 mm, weight - 184 g. Colors: gold, black and blue.

Display

Honor 8 Pro has a large 5.7-inch screen with an ultra-clear resolution of 2560 by 1440 pixels (2K). This allows you not only to view the image in the smallest detail, but also virtual reality using the glasses that come with the kit. It uses an advanced LTPS matrix with rich color reproduction and a significant brightness reserve.

Hardware and performance

Thanks to the top-end Kirin 960 processor with eight cores (four Cortex-A53 + four Cortex-A73) and the Mali-G71 MP8 graphics accelerator, the new Huawei Honor 8 Pro stands out for its excellent performance. The video chip supports Vulkan API technology, which means it handles 3D graphics most confidently and efficiently.

The amount of internal memory reaches 64 GB, and RAM – 6 GB. You can insert a memory card at any time, the capacity of which does not exceed 128 GB. The most popular AnTuTu test gives about 150,000 points. It uses the Android 7.0 operating system with a unique EMUI 5.1 shell.

Communication and sound

Huawei Honor 8 Pro has two SIM card slots and an NFC module. There is also support for high-speed LTE-Advanced networks (LTE Cat.6). The interlocutor can always be heard without problems. The speaker is moderately loud and very clear.

Camera

The smartphone uses a 12 MP dual camera with a combination of color and monochrome modules. In practice, this significantly improves the quality of images due to the large amount of incoming light. And thanks to a special wide aperture mode, you can take artistic photos with background blur. This effect works not only in photographs, but also in videos. Night photography has also improved greatly. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP, allowing you to create excellent self-portraits.

conclusions

In terms of price and quality, Honor 8 Pro has few equals. The device has all the characteristics and capabilities typical of flagships, but with a low price of 30-35 thousand rubles. Moreover, the package includes not only a charger, a paper clip and a USB cable, but also a box that can turn into VR glasses.

Pros:

  • Very powerful iron.
  • Ultra-clear, large display.
  • Advanced dual camera.
  • Modern software.
  • Beautiful design.

Minuses:

  • There is no protection against water.
  • It slips a little in the hand.

Video reviews

Huawei this year decided to break all records for blurring its family. Yes, of course, Honor is not Huawei, we all actively pretend that these are unrelated companies. But it doesn’t work out very well, to be honest: even Nubia and ZTE manage to mentally separate things better. So the new two versions of Honor 8 are a little puzzling. If with its glass body, non-standard design and pronounced “I” it fit well into last year’s lineup between and, then Honor 8 Pro will directly bite off the audience from Huawei P10, and Honor 8 lite with a price of 15 thousand rubles will completely fall into the niche Honor 6X.

However, who are we to talk about the model policy of huge companies. Corporate ways are inscrutable. Let's talk better about the smartphone itself, which threatens to become one of the most interesting models of spring. Honor 8 Pro has in common with the founder of the series only the name and design of the front panel with the word Honor at the bottom. The glass body is a thing of the past, giving way to traditional metal, the Kirin 950 was replaced by the Kirin 960 (as in the P10), RAM was added and the display grew by half an inch, which also increased in resolution (now Quad HD). But the camera (or rather, cameras - there are, of course, two sensors and two lenses) remained without external changes, but it works a little differently (I’ll talk about this below). In essence, we are dealing with a slightly modified and simplified version of the Huawei P10 Plus, only 10 thousand rubles cheaper. Tempting.

Design, ergonomics and software

Huawei does not stop looking for its own path in smartphone design - even if this activity is not at all necessary: the company is doing excellently even without a distinct “I” for its gadgets. The search is being conducted in a variety of directions - if the Mate series has gained some kind of stability, then the flagships of the P line (formerly Ascend P) this year unexpectedly returned to imitating the iPhone. In Honor 8, the company found an interesting recipe with iridescent glass - and it would be logical if the Pro version was also made according to it.

But, alas, this did not happen, Honor 8 Pro is a device made of high quality, from good materials (the front panel is covered with 2.5D glass, the back panel along with the sides is metal), but it definitely lacks personality. Especially in the black version we got - the blue and gold ones look noticeably more interesting.

But they are not free from the typical problem of all gadgets with matte metal on the back panel - it gets dirty, and even if fingerprints are not too obvious, they are not easy to wipe off. But on the front glass, the oleophobic coating is quite effective - and it’s worth noting this in a separate line, because the same P10 and P10 Plus have problems with it. The metal back, however, also has an advantage over the glass of the regular Honor 8 - the gadget does not slip out of your hand.

In terms of dimensions, the Honor 8 Pro is quite adequate to its competitors - only the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 stand out from the general background, on which the display occupies almost the entire front panel. The Huawei device is more classical - there are almost no side frames, there are no controls under the screen (only the Honor logo), but it is difficult to work with this 5.7-inch gadget with one hand.

I’ll especially note the thickness of the device - only 7 mm, this is one of the thinnest smartphones in its class.

As promised, the V9 smartphone, well-known in China, has reached European stores under the name Honor 8 Pro, becoming one of the best tablet phones of the beginning of the year. Available for order are black, blue and gold models with 6 GB of RAM, the price is 549 euros. Along with the smartphone, you can choose from a 128 GB microSD memory card or a 10,000 mAh Huawei external battery, and there are other nice little things like a selfie stand.

It's a pretty reasonable price, especially when you factor in the gifts and the VR device. For fans of modern technologies, Huawei Honor 8 Pro offers a lot of interesting things. One of the big advantages of the device is the 4000 mAh battery, which fits into a thin 7 mm case. At the same time, it fully charges in less than two hours, at least the developers say so. What else is interesting here? Read our review below.

Design

The developers even in press materials talked about an impressive 4000 mAh battery in a thin body, but in reality it is even more impressive. The body is made of light metal alloy, all color options are matte. This review is about a blue smartphone. The screen size is 5.7 inches, the device weighs 184 g. It is lighter and more compact compared to the 5.5-inch screen size, which also has a dual camera at the back.

Honor 8 Pro is still a fairly massive smartphone, especially when compared with modern ones, where the screen occupies most of the body and the frames at the top and bottom are minimal. For this reason, Huawei Honor 8 Pro is not very comfortable to hold, especially with one hand, especially not with the largest hand. Luckily, the smartphone has software tricks that make the interface smaller for easier finger access, with a fingerprint scanner on the back just under your index finger. The same scanner works as a touchpad, through it you can control the notification panel so that you do not need to use two hands to do this.

Along the edges of the case there is a volume control and a power button on the right; they are quite thin, but at the same time they are easy to press without looking and they have a good tactile response. There is a connector for charging and data transfer at the bottom, and at the top there is an infrared sensor, rare these days, for controlling consumer electronics and TVs.

Screen

The smartphone is equipped with a Quad HD LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, so it is a clear flagship. For such a screen, a large battery is a necessity, since at such a resolution the operating time is always less than that of smartphones with 1080p screens with batteries of similar capacity. The developers have made it possible to reduce the screen resolution to 1080p or even 720p, but the backlight still has three million pixels, so the savings are negligible.

The pixel density exceeds 500 ppi, but otherwise it's a typical IPS LCD panel with good viewing angles, high maximum brightness (563 nits) and minimal glare, allowing images to be seen in sunlight. The weak point of such panels is color rendering, since the colors are closer to the cold part of the spectrum, green is oversaturated. You can try to correct the situation in the screen settings, but it is unlikely that many users will do this.

Interface and functionality

Honor 8 runs on Huawei EMUI 5.1 shell on top of the operating system. This is the same fast and functional interface that is used in the recently released smartphone, which came to the device after updating to Android Nougat. Notifications and communication toggles are now located in one place in the notification panel, and new convenient gestures have been added, like swiping from left to right to split the screen into two parts for different applications.

Speaking of gestures, the developers could add a downward swipe to expand the notification panel or a double tap to wake and lock the screen. In reality, this uses the lock button and the touchpad functionality on the fingerprint scanner, although a choice would have been nice.

The Huawei Honor 8 Pro promises a smooth virtual reality experience and even comes with a cardboard browser and a pre-installed Jaunt VR app with plenty of video content. Customers will also be able to immerse themselves in the world of Galaxy on Fire 3, the first 3D game on the Vulcan GUI. It is available for free.

Processor and memory

The smartphone runs on a modern Huawei Kirin 960 processor with a Mali-G71 graphics chip. This is an 8-core processor that is also used in the Huawei Mate 9, its Cortex-A73 cores operate at 2.4 GHz and bring a high level of performance.

The amount of LPDDR4 RAM is as much as 6 GB, the minimum value of built-in flash memory is 64 GB, there is support for microSD memory cards. As you can see, these are high flagship level characteristics. There are no freezes or slowdowns when operating the smartphone, applications load quickly, the device is capable of storing up to ten applications in memory simultaneously without noticeable slowdown.

The EMUI 5.1 shell has received several new optimizations, such as active memory defragmentation, memory compression, a faster kernel to free up memory so that the device does not become slower over time. The intelligent control system remembers user habits. For example, if you open certain applications at certain times of the day, the system will load them into memory in advance, allowing them to launch faster. If you don't have such consistent habits, if you open apps like Facebook or Twitter frequently over a period of about a week, the system will remember these actions and the programs will load faster because they will be given higher priority.

Connection

The smartphone has two SIM card slots, one of which is hybrid and can be used to install a microSD memory card. LTE band support isn't as extensive as Qualcomm's modem in the latest Snapdragon processors, but all European mobile operators work. You can also control your home TV and other devices using this smartphone. For a wired connection there is a modern USB-C connector at the bottom of the case.

Cameras

Huawei Honor 8 Pro has a dual rear camera, one monochrome sensor, the second RGB, 12 MP lenses. This allows you to take photos in black and white or combine them with color images to take better photos automatically. Thanks to the dual camera, it offers a wide aperture mode for photos and videos, and you can create more pronounced background blur in photos. The degree of this blur can be adjusted after the photograph is taken. On the front there is a camera with a resolution of 8 megapixels.

The camera app contains many photography modes, which are even more numerous here than in Huawei Mate and Honor 8, the device quickly takes and saves photos. Double-pressing the volume down while locked launches the Camera app and allows you to take a photo in one to two seconds.

It was noted that it takes some time to achieve focus, especially when shooting moving subjects and when the lighting is not the best. If you want, you can tap the screen to manually focus, but smartphones usually handle this task on their own.

Auto mode produces images with cold, featureless colors, especially outdoors. True, the photos were taken on a cloudy day, but even in the sun the colors lack saturation, unlike most other cameras. You can change the camera settings if you wish, but most users will use it as is. Otherwise, the images are quite sharp and without unnecessary digital noise, the level of detail is high.

Indoors, in low light, colors look better and are more vibrant here. Dynamic range is above average, with bright objects coming out overexposed, which is common with most smartphone cameras in low light.

Unlike Honor 8, the Pro model supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second, which is thanks to the faster processor. There's software image stabilization that works well at 1080p resolution, but it's off by default. There is no stabilization at 4K resolution, so the video turns out jerky. As in photographs, video colors are not very bright, and detail at 1080p resolution is only slightly above average.

Multimedia

EMUI 5.1 introduces the Highlights feature, which was developed jointly with GoPro. It independently categorizes photos and can automatically generate video stories that are easy to customize and available in the gallery. The audio capabilities of the smartphone are at an average level, this applies to both the speaker and headphones. Watching videos on a big screen is quite convenient, the video player is able to cope with all modern codecs, and there are video editing tools.

The battery capacity is 4000 mAh, the same battery is used in the Huawei Mate 9. At the same time, the screen resolution here is higher, which does not prevent the developers from promising two full days of battery life or one and a half with intensive use of the device. What exactly is called saturated use is not specified.

Testing with the screen off showed 8 hours 39 minutes of operation. This is not a particularly outstanding result, but it is the best result for smartphones with a QHD screen resolution.

For comparison, Huawei Mate 9 worked for more than 12 hours in tests, Honor 8 worked for 8 hours with a 3000 mAh battery. As you can see, you have to pay for additional benefits in the form of virtual reality.

For such a large battery, being able to fully charge it in 1 hour and 46 minutes is a remarkable achievement. This is a record fast charging time for devices with 4000 mAh batteries. This result was achieved using the included charger. During charging, the smartphone did not even heat up.

Conclusion

Honor 8 Pro is an improved version of the Huawei Honor 8. It has a larger screen size, a faster processor, more RAM, more battery capacity, and a very thin and elegant metal body. In general, the smartphone does not differ too much, offering a pleasant, functional interface at a lower price compared to competing models.

The smartphone is an attractive purchase in the price category above $500. The bright high-resolution screen is capable of handling virtual reality devices, the battery is sufficient to ensure its operation, and fast recharging can also be highlighted. The dual camera copes well with most tasks, and it is now possible to record video at 4K resolution.

The smartphone is quite large and holding it with one hand will be uncomfortable, so you need to prepare for this in advance. Videos and photos come out rather dull in automatic mode, but there are enough settings to liven them up. As a result, Honor's next offer is very solid, once again cementing its reputation as a manufacturer of devices with a good price-quality ratio.

Pros of Honor 8 Pro

  1. Better battery life for smartphones with Quad HD screens;
  2. Fast charging;
  3. Functional interface with wide gesture support;
  4. Large amount of RAM and intelligent management of it;
  5. Vulkan GUI;
  6. H.265 encoding in 4K format allows you to reduce the size of videos.

Cons of Honor 8 Pro

  1. Slow camera focus and shaky 4K video;
  2. Dull colors in photos and videos;
  3. Inconvenient to use with one hand;
  4. Cool screen colors.

Where to buy Honor 8 Pro and price

You can buy Honor 8 Pro at the best price. The price of Huawei Honor 8 Pro with 6GB RAM / 64GB ROM is $499.99!

Last July, Chinese manufacturer Huawei announced a rather interesting device. Namely, the Huawei Honor 8 phone, which was distinguished by both powerful hardware and beautiful design. In March, the manufacturer will present an equally interesting modification of this model - Huawei Honor 8 Pro. What has been improved in this model and how is it different?

Design

The first and, perhaps, main change is an increase in the display diagonal and its resolution. The basic Honor 8 had a 5.2"" full-screen display, and the pro version had a 5.7"" screen with 1440x2560 pixels. But increasing diagonals and resolutions in pro-smartphones is not new. Much more surprising is the change in design direction. The fact is that the original Honor 8 aroused interest primarily because of its appearance. Here, 2.5D glass was used not only on the front side, but also on the back. Without exaggeration, the base Honor model was one of the most stylish: metal side edges and glass on both sides did their job. But it’s not just about the glossy shine; under the glass there was a nice pattern in the form of straight lines. Looking at Huawei Honor 8 Pro, all these feelings do not arise. This is because the smartphone cannot be compared with its fashionable predecessor. Here we do not see a sandwich of 2.5-d glass, the body is all-metal, and there are two wiring lines for antennas on the back. Well, in the pro version the main emphasis is not on design, but on technical parameters, so there is no point in further comparing the appearance of the devices.

Technical innovations

The previous smartphone used a Kirin 950 processor with four 2.3 and four 1.8 GHz cores. The pro version received a more powerful and improved Kirin 960, where 2.4 gigahertz was used instead of 2.3. Naturally, the improvements are not limited to a tenth of a gigahertz of performance: the graphics component has also changed. The amount of RAM has also increased: from 4 to 6 GB. Naturally, the device will work with the new version of Android 7.0. Other interesting features include a dual-module camera and the amount of user memory. The memory here is 64/128GB depending on the version purchased. What is characteristic: expansion by micro-sizes is supported. Typically, such amounts of memory exclude this possibility in some flagships, but, as you can see, the situation is changing. Finally, it’s worth saying: the smartphone is not associated with the basic Huawei Honor 8. And in China it will be known under another name “Honor V9”. But the technical component is really attractive.

The global market for mobile phones and smartphones is constantly updated with new developments offered by well-known companies. There is practically no place for newcomers in this industry, however, Huawei, which appeared on the market not so long ago, is actively trying to take its place in the sun. To increase its market share, the company is constantly improving the design of its products, developing original cases for gadgets and improving the performance of smartphones.

The Honor brand is another way for Huawei to gain more space in the mobile device market, and it has proven to be quite effective. Just look at the new Honor 8 Pro smartphone, which we will now review. Those who have already taken a closer look at the device have not for nothing called it a real iPhone, only with a larger screen and a range of capabilities. This comparison is due to a number of changes that affected the new Honor model. This includes increasing the size and resolution of the screen, installing a top-end processor, using the latest version of Android, and much more. But first things first.

Let's take a closer look at this original Huawei Honor device. We provide an overview of its technical characteristics in the table.

Huawei Honor 8 Pro mobile device review

Processor type Kirin 960 is a quad-core processor. In terms of performance, this processor was compared with Exynos 8 Octa (8890). Samsung turned out to be almost identical in speed, and in some moments even inferior to Huawei Honor 8 Pro

If you compare the technical characteristics of the processor of the Samsung galaxy s8 exynos phone and the processor of the Huawei Honor 8 Pro, you can see that they are almost identical, and the question arises: why are many people willing to overpay for the Samsung name, receiving the same device parameters that the Huawei developer offers, but much cheaper?

It is also worth noting that the Huawei device perfectly supports memory cards of various sizes, so the memory capacity can be increased significantly. Honor 8 Pro, compared to other Huawei smartphones, can simply be called a revolutionary breakthrough in the improvement of smartphones. Thanks to a modern processor, the device works quickly. There are no problems with a lack of memory: the card has backup capabilities. Honor 8 Pro has a modern GPS and A-GPS navigator, connects perfectly to a wireless network, and BeiDou is also installed.

Equipment

Modern devices have approximately the same configuration. Both apple iPhone x, Huawei Honor 8 Pro, and other models are packaged in an original box with the manufacturer’s logo. When purchasing Honor 8, the kit will include a device for charging the phone, as well as a C-type USB cable. This model is adapted for fast charging, so in the box the buyer will find a special 18-watt adapter, which has much in common with the Super charger P10 power adapter.

The small compartment of the box, which is usually used for SIM cards or various documents, contains 2 special lenses. This is a feature of this smartphone, so the buyer cannot immediately figure out why they are needed. At the very bottom of the package you can find special VR glasses made of cardboard. Assembling this set is not that difficult, but if you have any questions, you can always refer to the instructions that came with the device.

The standard equipment of Huawei Honor 8 Pro includes:

  • Huawei Honor 8 Pro device;
  • A special tool that removes the SIM card;
  • Instructions for use of the device;
  • Warranty coupon;
  • Charger for Honor 8 Pro 5V/2A:1.

Design

Despite the fact that Chinese Huawei phones have released more than one model, it is still too early to talk about any special, exclusive design of smartphones. One could even say that the models were veiled copies of Samsung or iPhone, but Huawei experts explained this by the practicality and convenience of competitors’ designs, as well as the lack of a similar budget to create an alternative, radically new style for their phones.

Nevertheless, the Chinese manufacturer is actively looking for individual appearance characteristics for its gadgets, although it cannot be said that Huawei has problems with the number of sales. For example, Huawei Honor 8 has a very interesting iridescent glass, but for some reason this design element did not transfer to Honor 8 Pro. Honor 8 Pro is again compared to the iPhone: the presence of a metal body, rounded edges and other familiar details are reminiscent of the latest iPhone models.

Although Huawei devices have even more unconventional designs, just look at the unusual blue color of the device. It attracts attention and looks very original. You have a choice in the color of your smartphone, because Huawei Honor 8 Pro is also available in black and gold. If we talk about the ergonomics of the device, then here it is in many ways superior to the so popular iPhone. Honor 8 Pro has 2.5D glass on the outside, and metal was used to create the back and side panels.

However, the new Huawei model has its drawbacks, one of which is the typical problem of all smartphones with a matte back panel - it gets dirty very quickly. The gadget is constantly in the user's hands, and fingerprints gradually cover the entire panel. Yes, they may not stand out much, but getting rid of marks on a matte finish is not so easy. As for the oleophobic glass coating, it in Honor 8 Pro is superior in quality to that used for the P10 and P10+.

The design of the body edges was created based on a compromise solution. They cannot be called round, because neat metal fractures are noticeable on the side parts, but at the same time, there are no sharp corners here either. All the buttons are located on the right side of the phone, while only the SIM card slot is located on the left side. On the top panel of the gadget there is a microphone with a noise reduction system. There was also a place for an infrared transmitter. The fingerprint sensor is round in shape. It can be found on the back of the phone.

Display

The display of this model is different from the Honor 8 screen: its resolution is much better. If the 8 has 1080 pixels, then the 8 PRO has 1440×2560. Clearer, brighter images are a good thing, of course, but you should also consider the fact that the higher the screen resolution, the more battery is consumed, so the battery on this phone will run out a little faster than on its predecessor.

As for the brightness indicators, here the manufacturers have outdone themselves; the 560 Nits mark is truly impressive. The Huawei Honor 8 Pro handles blacks very well, and this gives very good contrast in images, as well as excellent visibility in the sun. If we talk about color rendering, its performance is also on par, so the Honor 8 smartphone is a worthy competitor to devices from well-known brands.

Compared to iPhone 7 Plus, Samsung and other smartphones, Huawei Honor 8 Pro has a higher maximum brightness, and in order to make the screen tones less cool, you just need to set the parameters manually. We present the main indicators of the Honor 8 Pro display in the table.

Sound

Despite the fact that the Honor 8 Pro mobile device has a lot in common with the Huawei Mate 9, it still does not have two speakers. The characteristics of Honor 8 Pro indicate that the device has only one speaker, which the manufacturers placed at the bottom of the smartphone. It cannot be said that this greatly affects the sound quality: the sound is clear, loud, you can listen to music, but on Huawei Mate 9 the sound transmission is still better than here. However, it is worth noting that a number of modern phones have much lower sound quality and lower volume.

You can listen to music on Honor 8 Pro using your own player, which has a convenient, simple and quite attractive interface. There are no additional manual settings; the virtual DTS system is either turned off completely or turned on the same way. The phone has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The Honor 8 Pro phone has a voice recorder that is characterized by excellent sensitivity and creates a recording of very good quality. The gadget does not have an FM radio, but now there are many applications that can replace the built-in program.

Cameras

Using the Honor 8 Pro, photos are taken on par with digital cameras. This is due to the fact that Huawei has long been paying great attention to improving not only the main camera. The mechanism itself for creating a camera in the 8 Pro model is the same as in the simple Eight and Huawei P9. The phone has two camera sensors measuring 1/2.9 inches. One sensor concentrates on black and white, and the second on color, and therefore has increased sensitivity. But the lenses of the 12 MP camera are the same, having an aperture of F/2.4.

Almost all Chinese smartphones combine data from both sensors using special algorithms when using the camera. This affects the quality of photographs: the clarity and contrast of the image increases. Therefore, in general, the result is better than when using a universal twelve-pixel photosensor. In addition, in 8 PRO, manufacturers added the ability to use a monochrome mode, which was absent in the previous eight.

There is no autofocus in Huawei Honor 8 Pro, but the dual camera perfectly simulates deep sharpness and has a good color gamut. This allows you to create the effect of blurring the background and emphasizing the main subject or, conversely, focusing on those details that are located away from the camera. A big plus is that the focus point can be selected after the photo has been taken. This allows you to create the impression that the image was created by a real professional.

Memory and memory card

The RAM of the Huawei Honor 8 Pro device is six gigabytes, while the internal memory is 64 gigabytes. This suggests that the phone can be used to store a huge amount of information. If this space is not enough, you can use a memory card. It is very easy to install and quickly synchronizes with the gadget. The memory card can reach 256 gigabytes. Honor 8 Pro reads information from the built-in memory at the same speed as the latest smartphone models from well-known manufacturers.

Connection

The Honor 8 Pro model has two SIM card slots, as well as a special NFC module. Manufacturers also made sure that the device supports high-speed networks such as LTE-Advanced. Various tests have shown that the device functions perfectly during a conversation, there are no problems with audibility. The speaker volume is moderate and is distinguished by the purity of sound transmission.

Battery life and performance

Honor 8 Pro is designed to make the smartphone as comfortable as possible for the user. With the help of a special software shell, EMUI 5.1, manufacturers were able to improve the performance of the device, namely, minimize the likelihood of a decrease in its performance until the phone is overloaded with data. After all, performance itself is often related to how much free space there is on the smartphone, and the software is constantly busy monitoring user actions.

Gradually, the smartphone remembers which applications its owner uses and approximately at what time. This will help him automatically load them into RAM at the right time, predicting the actions of a person who, in turn, will be able to launch the program in a few seconds. By the way, Huawei Honor 8 Pro works great with usb otg, so you can easily print documents from it, transfer files to any media, or scan an image.

Thanks to a powerful 4000 mAh battery, the smartphone can operate autonomously for 48 hours.

operating system

The smartphone runs on the Android 7.0 operating system using the improved EMUI 5.1 software shell, which improves the system almost to the level of Android Oreo. Features of this operating system:

  • There are two desktop options: one contains applications, the other contains a menu button;
  • You can choose the type of notification, for example, only numbers or only signs, or refuse them altogether;
  • Now you can work on the phone without taking off your gloves;
  • To save an application to the cache, just click on the lock icon.

Bottom line

Having studied in detail the features of the Huawei Honor 8 Pro device in comparison with models of a similar type from other manufacturers, we can say that the modern Chinese device is practically in no way inferior to its competitors, but its price is much more reasonable. The main characteristics of the Honor 8 PRO indicate that this smartphone has excellent performance, is well made and is equipped with all the necessary functions.

Recently, consumers have been paying great attention to the quality of photos taken with a smartphone. The dual camera module is one of the advantages of this phone, so in comparison with phones from other brands, the Huawei Honor 8 Pro camera is in no way inferior to them.
