Reset message no toner for Brother 1512 MFP. Resetting the counter to zero on various Brother printer models. Solving the problem with hardware

Printers are devices that allow you to print out the necessary documents at any time; they are convenient to use both in the office and at home. However, over time, the cartridges become empty and need to be replenished with a new supply of ink. However, for the machine to continue to function normally, you must reset the toner counter.

Resetting Brother DCP-7057R Toner

After replacing the toner, you need to take a couple of minutes to set up the machine. To do this, you need to turn on the device and wait for it to fully boot, and then open the lid. We see the lever that holds the cartridge inside, remove it and take out the toner. Carefully separate the photodrum and return it back.

For further actions you will need a small screwdriver. Use it to press the front cover opening sensor and wait a couple of seconds, then press the special flag. After the printer gears start working, remove the screwdriver from the checkbox and press it again after 2 seconds. In total, the procedure should be repeated twice. The third time you need to click on the flag and hold it until the printer stops buzzing. Then you should take out the photoconductor and connect it to the cartridge and return it to its place. The toner reset was successfully reproduced.

How to reset Brother DCP-7057R printer

Sometimes, during operation or after replacing a cartridge, minor problems occur, for example, the printer does not print or does not pick up paper. To do this, you need to reset the drum - this can be done programmatically.

If the Brother DCP-7057R printer does not print, then you should turn on the device and wait until it quiets down, then you need to open the front cover. On the front panel, you must press the “Stop” or “Cancel” button, and then “Start”. We look at the screen and press the “Up” arrow, and then the “Down” button and press it so many times until “00” is displayed on the screen. Having seen the treasured two zeros, click on “OK” and close the front cover.

The reset algorithm is very simple. First, you need to pull out the cartridge and disconnect the photoconductor from it and insert it back into the printer. Next, by putting your hand through the paper feed compartment, we find a black button (located on the cartridge in the lower left corner) and press it until the device starts making a sound. Then release it for a few seconds and press and hold again until the device buzzes. When performing this algorithm, no message should appear on the screen, otherwise the button will need to be pressed until the reminders disappear. Upon completion, the printer must be returned to its original form (install all parts and prepare for use).

Resetting the drum counter must be displayed on the screen using the buttons. To do this, go to the menu and select “Custom Settings” and the “Reset Drum” function and press OK.

How to reset the counter of the Brother DCP-1512R printer

You can reset the printer counter in the same way as the photo drum, through the “Custom Settings” menu item. To check the correctness of the actions, it is recommended to print the list of settings. The sheet will show the toner level as 100%.

However, after resetting the counter, problems occur, for example, “Error, insert the cartridge back” appears on the LCD screen. In this case, you need to open the printer cover again, remove the photoconductor and cartridge, check their connection and insert it back. For those who do not know how to open the top cover and remove the cartridge, the device’s operating instructions contain a detailed description.

After actively using the printer, cartridges must be refilled. However, some models, after refilling with paint and installing in place, do not see that the problem has been resolved. To avoid problems, the “Reset Toner Counter” function has been created.

Let's look at how to reset the counters of Brother HL-1110R, HL-1112R, DCP-1510R, DCP-1512R, MFC-1810R, MFC-1815R printers. These models use one cartridge - TN-1075, therefore, resetting the toner and photodrum counters is the same.

I don’t yet know how to do this through the device menu. You can reset the Brother DCP-1512R toner counter manually, in the truest sense of the word. The process is simpler than in the Brother DCP-7057R model. There is no need to disconnect anything or poke anything with a screwdriver.

  1. Turn on the device.
  2. We take out the cartridge and divide it into two parts (a unit with a toner and a unit with a photodrum).

We insert the unit with the photodrum into the device.

Pull out the paper from the feed tray.

We put our hand through the paper feed tray and press the sensor or lever (located on the left).

  1. Hold and close the top cover.
  2. As soon as we hear the engine noise, release the sensor and after 1 second press it again.

Hold until the device warms up and quiets down.

The counter has been reset.

  1. Open the lid, take out the unit with the photodrum, assemble the cartridge, insert it into the device and print.

You may not be able to reset the counter on your Brother DCP-1512R printer right away. Try repeating the process, pausing before releasing the sensor for approximately 1 second after turning on the device's engine.

This article provides instructions on how to reset the toner counter for Brother TN-2080 / TN-2085 / TN-2090 / TN-2275 cartridges and Brother DCP-7055 / / / / , MFC-7360 / multifunction devices (MFPs).

Brother printers and MFPs have a built-in page counter that blocks the printer from operating after the “expected end” of toner in the cartridge. This is a safety mechanism designed by the printer manufacturer to make refilling cartridges more difficult. To continue printing, if set, you must reset the toner counter. The counter is reset by scrolling the “flag” on the left “cheek” of the cartridge before installing it in the printer.

The “flag” method of resetting the toner counter, unfortunately, does not always work the first time when installing a new or refilled cartridge. Then you have to remove the cartridge from the printer and repeat the procedure of scrolling the “flag” until the counter is reset.

Resetting the toner counter by raising the flag

The following instructions are only valid for laser cartridges Brother TN-2080 / TN-2085 / TN-2090 / TN-2275.

1. This is what the “flag” looks like (see image below), which we need to cock in order to reset the toner counter in the printer. To do this, you need to unscrew 2-3 screws (depending on the model) and remove the side “cheek” covering the reset mechanism.

2. Remove the two gears covering the center gear. Rotate the center gear to the position shown in the figure below, so that the straight edge of the center part is vertical to the left.

3. Reinstall the two gears. The right gear should be in the “petal” (protruding edge) position downwards as shown in the figure.

4. Install the side panel. Finally, after assembling the cartridge, make sure that the protruding petal of the “flag” is facing down and the marker arrows are facing each other.

This procedure sometimes has to be repeated more than once, even with a new cartridge.
