Error code 975 on Google Play

The good news is that error 975 occurs very rarely, but the bad news is that there is no solution yet. If you encounter this problem, then contact Google technical support.

Google Play Error Code 963 on Google Play

This error is encountered mainly by owners of HTC One M8 and M9 when they try to install something from the Google Play app store or simply update the application.

First solution
Try clearing the cache of the Google Play Store application, as well as the built-in download manager. Look for these programs in the Application Manager, where all installed applications are located.

Second solution
If this error is still present, then now try to remove Google Play Store updates and then clear its data.

Third solution
Disconnect the microSD memory card. To do this, open the settings, go to the “Memory” section, and then click the “Disable” button. Now launch Play Store and try updating/installing the app again. If it works, then you can activate microSD back.

Fourth solution
An update error may occur due to the application being located on the memory card. Try transferring it back to your phone's memory, and then update it through the market. If the process is successful, then you can transfer the application back.

Error code 944 on Google Play

This issue occurs during application updates. Users encounter it when the application store does not work, that is, the problem is in the company’s servers.

Solution
Go to the Play Store a little later. This is a temporary problem, so you just need to wait a little.

Error code 940 on Google Play

The application cannot be loaded.

Solution
Sometimes all you need to do is restart your phone, but if nothing has changed, follow these instructions:

  • Open “Settings”, “Application Manager” and find Google Play Store in the list. Clear this app's cache.
  • Here, find the “Download Manager” application and clear its data.
  • Do the same with Google Services Framework, Chrome and Hangouts.

Error code 924 on Google Play

Usually occurs during the installation of applications with additional data that take up more free space in the phone memory. The application loads, but an error message appears on the screen, causing the process to abort.

Solution
Uninstall installed Google Play Store app updates. After that, try downloading the desired application again.

Error code 906 in Google Play (for 906 and 963 the solution is the same)

This error mainly occurs on smartphones such as HTC One M8 and M9 during installation of applications or updating them.

Solution
If you have problems installing or updating apps, you need to clear your cache and Play Store data. If this does not help, then you need to remove its updates. If this does not clear this error, then try disconnecting the memory card and only then you need to repeat the installation/update process.

Error code 905 on Google Play

Difficulty downloading applications or installing updates correctly.

Solution
Open settings and go to the section with all the applications installed on your phone. Find Google Play Store there and uninstall updates, then wait a few seconds. Then give time for the Market to install these updates back and then the problem should disappear.

Error code 505 on Google Play

Two or more apps with duplicate permissions.

Solution
You need to find out which application has the same permissions as the one you want to install and then you need to remove it. To do this, you must find the APK file of the application you are going to install and then try to repair it using the Lucky Patcher tool. It will display an alert with the name of the program that is having problems. It, as you might have guessed, needs to be removed.

Error code 501 on Google Play

If you can't open the Google Play Store or install, then it's almost certain that you have a 501 error.

Solution
To solve this problem, you need to clear the data of these applications: Google Play Services and Play Store. You also need to delete your Google account and then restart your phone. Now you can add your account again, but wait 5 minutes until everything synchronizes (just don’t touch your smartphone). After this, the 501 error should not bother you.

Clear Market data: Open Settings, go to Applications, and then go to the All Applications menu. Find Google's app store in the list and clear data and remove updates.

Second solution
Disable the memory card through the memory settings and then try updating the application with which the error occurs. If it doesn't help or you don't use microSD, then check out the third solution.

Third solution
Unfortunately, this method requires superuser rights. With their help, you can remove a system application that does not want to be updated. Install the Root Explorer application from the application store, and then go to the system section of the phone (System/App). Here, find the application and delete the folder with it.

Error code 110 on Google Play

The application cannot be installed.

Solution
Just clear the Play Store cache. If the problem persists, then try installing the application through the web version of the application store.

The Android operating system is the most common in the field of mobile devices, but this does not prevent it from having many errors and bugs that greatly spoil the experience of the average user. Fortunately, many of them are easy to fix.

Oddly enough, despite the variety of reasons that cause errors, many of them have the same correction methods, which are often absolutely identical. To avoid repetition, the first half of the article will describe the causes of errors and how to treat them, and the second half will describe step-by-step instructions.

Table: meanings of Play Market errors and methods of treatment

Code number Description of the error Treatment methods
400 and 403 This problem occurs when you try to buy a paid application when the Play Market cannot correctly use your account information. Most often, the error appears when two or more paying Google accounts are active on the device, and their priorities conflict. “Deleting an account from the system and logging in again.” Deleting one of your existing accounts will also help.
404 The 404 code is generally accepted to indicate an error when connecting to a server, but the Play Market application itself has not used it for a long time, since it has been replaced by more accurate reports. That is, the 404 error is divided into a large number of other errors, each of which has its own code.
If you happen to encounter just such a code, there are one of two things: either you entered the Play Market through a browser and came across a non-existent page, or you are using a very old version of the Play Market, and the problem is a connection error.
Taking into account the fact that the first option cannot be cured, and the second can only occur if you have already managed to access the Play Market, it is most likely that the problem lies in the incorrect time zone setting.
“Setting the date and time.”
406 Play Market could not find the application file offered for download. The fact that a link to an unfound file was posted in the Play Market and marked as valid for your device already indicates that this is an error on the side of the application moderation. However, not everything is simple here either. Sometimes this is still a bug of services, which can be cured by cleaning them, but, most often, it is associated with determining the region, in which the Play Market thinks that you have the right to download this application and launches a deliberately false download procedure.
  1. "Using a VPN."
409, 410, 412 and 420 These errors are responsible for disruption of service applications. Almost half of the errors that occur, regardless of their code, are caused by problems in services, resulting in code that does not correspond to reality. But specifically these values notify about disruption of services and nothing more. "Cleaning service applications." In the case of code 412, you may need
413 Occurs when using a proxy server and represents the security system's lack of trust in your connection. Just disable the proxy server. If you don’t use it, the problem is a Google service data registration error. "Cleaning service applications."
481 One of the problems associated with associating your Google account with the Play Market. This code is slightly different from similar ones, since the problem may lie in the account itself, which, for unknown reasons, has been declared invalid and its further use is impossible. “Deleting an account from the system and logging in again.” If it doesn’t help, you’ll have to forget about this account and use another one.
This is one of the few problems that cannot be solved using a System Reset.
489 The problem is related to the recognition of your account, and more specifically, this is an error in the interaction of Google services and the active account. This case is not as bad as the previous one: the problem lies not in the account itself, but in the way it is registered in the services, and a simple log-out should save the situation. “Deleting an account from the system and logging in again.”
490 This error occurs if the Play Market deems your Internet connection unsuitable for downloading the application. There can be many reasons for this and they are all quite vague, but the most popular are: a service bug, when the code does not correspond to reality, and traffic restrictions, which can even apply to Wi-Fi.
  1. "Cleaning service applications."
  2. “Removing traffic restrictions.”
491 An error occurred while accessing the downloadable application. The conflict involves a security system that prevents the application from accessing its own sources, calling them hostile.
  1. "Permission to install applications from external sources."
  2. "Cleaning service applications."
  3. “Removing Play Market and GFS updates.”
492 This error is due to problems interacting with the dalvik cache. The report is quite definite and accurate, but despite this, the problem may be a simple failure of services.
  1. "Cleaning service applications."
  2. "Removing dalvik cache."
495 Indicates that the downloaded file cannot be accessed. An error occurred when moderating the application on the Play Market, as a result of which the integrity of the file was compromised or it was simply missing. However, in the case of this code, this is quite rare, and most likely you are encountering an incorrect load buffer overflow report.
  1. "Cleaning service applications."
  2. “Removing Play Market and GFS updates.”
497 Occurs when an earlier version of the application is already located in the place where the application should be installed/updated and the Play Market cannot remove it for the purpose of further replacement. This is due to the erroneous assignment of higher priority to some application files, as a result of which deleting them requires appropriate rights that the Play Market itself does not possess. "Forced removal of the application."
498 The definition of the error is absolutely clear and implies a device cache overflow. Simply clearing the memory will not help, since the device cache is a special section of memory and is not related to the regular cache. "Clear device cache."

Troubleshooting

The first two methods are universal. If you encounter any unknown error, try these first. As a last resort, you can always use System Reset, which eliminates almost all errors that occur in the Play Market.

If any error occurs, regardless of its code, first try to reboot the device. This is the most harmless way to solve the problem, which often helps.

Cleaning service applications

Most problems with the Play Market arise as a result of errors in service applications. Moreover, there may not be an error, but the store will think that there is one. Fortunately, this bug is very easy to fix. Also, this method can eliminate almost half of the problems in the Play Market.

  1. Go to Android Settings and tap the Apps tab under Device.
  2. By swiping twice to the right, go to the list of all applications.

  3. Find Play Market here and click on it.

  4. Click “Stop”, “Clear cache” and “Erase data” one by one.

  5. Repeat these steps with “Download Manager”, then restart your device and try downloading something from the Play Market.

  6. If it doesn't help, move on. Repeat with "Google Accounts".

  7. Same as Google Play Services.

  8. Same as “Google Service Framework”, then reboot the device again.

Uninstalling Play Market and GFS updates

Sometimes in a series of Play Market updates there is a “dead-end” version that cannot download anything and update accordingly. This kind of error occurs quite often, especially on Chinese smartphones, the support of which is not very concerned. If it occurs, you need to overwrite the “bad” version by removing all Play Market updates:

If the Play Market worked as it should, but this effect lasted no more than five minutes, repeat steps one through five, and after rebooting the device, do the following very quickly:

If it doesn't help, don't be upset, this happens rarely, but it was worth a try. To solve the problem, you will need to download the latest version yourself. This can also be done if the earlier version to which you rolled back does not suit you.

If the method described in this paragraph did not help you even for a few minutes, there is no point in doing the following.

If you have not previously installed anything downloaded from the Internet, you may need to allow installation from external sources. How to get it is described at the end of the article.

Video: how to remove Play Market updates

Using a VPN

A VPN connection is a virtual private network connection that allows you to create a new Internet connection over an existing one. In simple terms, this is the inclusion of an additional link in the connection system between the device and the Internet, so that the resource you are accessing will think that it is not you who are connecting to it, but your VPN.

  1. First, you need to go to the Play Market and enter “VPN” in the search bar. Select the first app you like.

  2. Install the application. They are all identical. Let's look at their use using the Turbo VPN application as an example. If, due to an error, you cannot even install this application, you will have to download it from external sources (how to allow such downloading is described at the end of the article).

  3. Open the application and click on the largest carrot-shaped button.

  4. Confirm the creation of the connection.

  5. Notice the flag icon in the upper right corner. It symbolizes the country through which the connection is made. According to this country, the region and, accordingly, the default language of the Play Market will be determined. As a rule, the server through which the connection is made the fastest is selected, but if this does not suit you, click on the checkbox and select the country yourself.

  6. To disable VPN, click on the cross icon.

Removing traffic restrictions

When using the mobile Internet, there are often cases when users forget to remove the restriction from the mobile traffic limit, as a result of which the Internet connection is partially lost.

It is also possible to set traffic restrictions in relation to some Wi-Fi points, which many people do not know about. Sometimes this restriction is automatically set when using a Wi-Fi connection that is not distributed from the router, but from another device.

Setting the date and time

If the date and time are set incorrectly, the Internet should not work on its own, but the Play Market application is somewhat special. It has its own idea of punctuality.

Pay attention to the time zone setting. It must be displayed first. Even if the time is set correctly, but the time zone is incorrect, this may lead to an error - the same Play Market feature mentioned above.

Removing an account from the system and logging in again

This method is also quite popular and eliminates most of the problems associated with the interaction between your Google account and the Play Market application.

  1. Go to Android Settings and open the Accounts tab under Personal Information.

  2. Select Google accounts.

  3. Select the account you want to sign out of.

  4. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner.

  5. Click "Delete Account".

  6. Return to the Accounts tab and click Add Account.

  7. Select "Google" and sign in to your account. You will need to authenticate (enter a password).

Clear device cache

A device's cache and its shared memory are somewhat different things. Regular memory clearing will not solve the problem. However, cache overflow is treated quite simply, despite the fact that it is done through the Recovery menu, which for some reason everyone is afraid of.

Video: how to clear the device cache

Removing Dalvik cache

As in the previous instructions, we will need to go to the Recovery menu and press a couple of buttons.

To follow this instruction you will need Root rights. How to get them is described at the end of the article.

Forced removal of an application

There are often cases when deleting an application using standard methods is impossible as a result of various bugs in the system or the application itself. In such cases, you have to remove the program manually using superuser rights.

To follow these instructions, you will need Root rights and Root Explorer. How to get them is described at the end of the article.

Let's look at forcefully deleting an application using the Total Commander explorer as an example:

System reset

The latest, but most effective way. Deletes everything located in the internal memory of your device.

Intermediate stages

Here we will describe the intermediate steps required to complete some of the above instructions, with the exception of “Permission to install applications from external sources”, which will directly be needed to solve error code 491.

Permission to install applications from external sources

If your security system does not allow you to install an application downloaded from the Internet, you must allow installation of applications from external sources:

Obtaining Root rights

Root rights or superuser rights provide the user with special powers:

  • deleting system files;
  • activation of hidden Android functions and more.

Before you decide to get Root rights, consider:

  • obtaining Root rights will void the device warranty;
  • the risk of system damage when obtaining Root rights and after always remains;
  • Receiving updates from the manufacturer over the air (warranty operating system updates) will be discontinued.

If you have not previously installed applications from external sources, you will need to make changes to your security settings. How to do this was described just above.

  1. Download the latest version of Framaroot from the Internet. This application has analogues in the Play Market, but they are not as reliable.
  2. Install Framaroot. If the installer blocks the process, click on "Additional information" and "Install anyway (not safe)."
  3. Launch Framaroot and select “Install SuperSU”, then click on one of the methods for obtaining Root rights. Reboot your device.
  4. Try alternative apps if your device is not supported by this one. But this will increase the risk of “dropping” your system. It would be best to find out the individual method for your device. Most likely, this method will be more complicated, but certainly proven.
  5. Type the name of your device + root into Google and open the first link.
  6. Follow the instructions.

Installing Root Explorer

Root Explorer is an explorer capable of operating with Root rights and having access to the root directory of the device.

The most common Root explorers are Total Commander and Root Explorer.

The easiest way to download Explorer is to install it from the Play Market. But if the error that has arisen does not allow this, the method is no longer necessary.

You can download Explorer from anywhere using your browser and Google search, but it is better to use only trusted sources, as there is a risk of getting a virus.

Unfortunately, it is impossible even for technical support from Google itself to eliminate the reasons why the above problems arise. But fixing the errors themselves, albeit temporarily, is very simple and within the capabilities of inexperienced users.

Almost all Android users have at least once encountered the fact that when they try to download an application or simply launch the Play Market, an error appears under some number. In this article, we will look at solutions to almost all errors that you can find in the Play Market.

Error without number. If when an error pops up, its serial number is not written, then this is almost certainly a problem with Google Play Services. There are four ways to solve it, depending on the cause of the error.
The first thing you need to do is go to the “Application Manager”, find “Google Play Services” there and erase the application cache, going down a little.

If the cache clearing error does not go away, then uninstall the application and install it again. If this also does not help, then find the Google Services Framework application in the Manager and clear the cache.

If all else fails, then most likely your date and time are simply wrong, so the services cannot synchronize. Set the current date and time - everything should work.

Error 24 when installing the application on Android. This error occurs during re-installation. Installed files overlap with already installed ones, and an error occurs. To solve it, you will have to install an additional application to obtain root rights. It's called Root Explorer and is distributed free of charge through the Play Market. In the application, you need to go to the Data section and delete the old files that you are going to replace.

Error 101. This is one of the easiest problems to solve. Appears when there is insufficient memory to install the application. All you need to do is erase unnecessary files from the device’s memory so that there is enough space for the new application.

Error 194. This error occurred on older versions of the Play Market. But about a year ago a version was released where this error was fixed, so you just need to update the Play Market to at least version 5.9.12 or higher.

Error 403 access denied how to fix. An error appears when purchasing goods on the Play Market if you log into it from several accounts at once. To fix it, you need to log in from your main account, delete the purchased application and install it again. Error 403 play market in Crimea occurs for everyone due to Google sanctions of February 1. How to fix? Use a VPN or anonymizer when accessing the play market.

Error 413. Occurs when an application uses proxies that block application updates. You can remove this error by clearing the Google services cache.

Error 481. Occurs as a result of an account failure. To solve this problem, you need to go to accounts(s) as shown in the screenshots and delete your account. Then reboot the device and create a new one.

Error 491 when downloading from the market. This problem appears when the application cannot be installed or updated. The solution is simple. You need to clear the cache and Google Play Services data, reboot your device and re-create your account.

Error 492 in the play market it says that there is a problem with Dalvik (a virtual device for reading the Java language). To fix the problem, try deleting the Google Play and Play Market cache. If the error does not disappear, there is no way out, you will have to reset to factory settings.

Error 495 in the Play Market occurs as a result of failures in Play Market and Service Framework applications. To resolve the error, you should reset the cache of these applications and, if this does not help, delete your account.

Error 498 appears when your cache is full, so downloading from the Play Market is interrupted. To fix the error, delete the cache of unnecessary files that take up a lot of space. Hint: social networks (VK, Facebook) usually take up the most space with saved music.

Error 504 in play market. This is a copy of error 495 - the same problem and the same solution.

Error 911 indicates various problems with Wi-Fi network authentication. The first thing you need to do is erase the cache and clear the Play Market data. Then try connecting to another available Wi-Fi and continue the installation via mobile networks.

Error 919 simple means that the device has run out of memory. You just need to erase unnecessary music, videos, photos, applications and continue normal work.

Error 920 in the play market occurs due to problems with the Wi-Fi connection. To solve it, you just need to reconnect. If this does not help, then delete your Google account and restart your device. Also try clearing cache and Google services data.

Error 921 It pops up in the play market due to application installation being blocked. To remove the error, clear the Play Market and Google Service Framework cache. Then turn off and on the device.

Error 926. This is another server error similar to the previous one. Clear the cache of service applications and restart the phone.

Error 927 appears in the Play Market because you are trying to download or update the application while the Play Market itself is updating. Just wait until the update finishes.

Error 941 (942). Two identical errors that occur when there is a problem with the Play Market. To fix this, clear your cache, erase your Play Market data, and re-create your account to be safe.

Epilogue.
If you find any other error in the Play Market that is not reflected in this list, then simply clear the cache and data from Google services; create a new account. As practice shows, this method works in 80% of all errors.

Since 2008, an online application store called Play Market has been available for Android users. It is really convenient: many applications are free, paid ones usually do not cost much, and applications downloaded from there can be updated automatically. Moreover, all Android devices support this store, so you can download applications from it on both phones and tablets. But sometimes when downloading or launching the Play Store, error codes 491, 492, 495, 497 and others may appear, preventing adequate downloading or updating of programs. It’s especially annoying if these errors appear when you have limited time and are downloading a very necessary application. In fact, there is no need to worry in such a situation: most possible problems can be easily resolved on your own.

How to identify Play Market errors on Android

If an error is detected in the Play Market, the operating system will let you know about it immediately. The notification comes in the form of a window where the error code is indicated.

This is what the error message looks like

The number code shown in parentheses identifies the problem. Knowing what a particular error code means, you can identify the source of the problem and, if possible, eliminate it.

Error 406

Often this problem is accompanied by the message “the application cannot be installed.” It can be fixed in the following way: clearing the Play Market cache and deleting its updates.

  • After clearing the cache, disable the current account
  • After disabling synchronization, you should restart your device, synchronize your account again and try downloading the application again.
Through the “Applications” tab in Settings, we erase data and delete the Play Market cache by clicking the buttons of the same name
  • Error 409

Often appears when the application download is almost complete. We solve the problem by clearing the Play Market cache, disabling the account and rebooting the device. After re-enabling it and synchronizing the account you are using, Play Market should work.

    Error 481

This type of error is related directly to the account from which the activity occurs. The reasons may be different, but what interests us is a quick and easy solution to the problem itself. This is done as follows:

  • In the settings in the “Accounts” menu, select your account.
  • Click and select “Delete”.
  • Reboot your smartphone and go to “Accounts”.
  • Re-add your account there.
  • Error 489

This problem is different from the others in that it is usually not caused by the device or the amount of memory. It can appear in two cases: if there are problems with the Internet and if the account recognition is inaccurate:

  • in the first case, it is enough to change the type of Internet connection. If you used Wi-Fi before, try switching to mobile Internet and vice versa. You can try switching to another connection point;
  • If switching Wi-Fi to mobile Internet does not help, you can try switching to another connection point via Settings => Network => APN

  • In order to solve the Google account recognition error, just delete it and add it again. After that, we clear the Play Market data, add the account again and try to download the application again. These actions are enough to “cure” the error.
  • Error 490

If your smartphone reports error 490, there is most likely a problem with the device's network connection. In addition, a possible reason could be the incompatibility of the downloaded application with the device or the failure of the services responsible for downloading it. The main options for resolving this problem are as follows: firstly, you can switch from Wi-Fi to mobile Internet or vice versa. If the device produces this error again, clear the cache of the Play Market and Google Play services. It still gives an error, even after the actions taken - we delete the account, reboot the device and add the account again.

If after all the steps taken the error is still not resolved, it makes sense to check recently installed applications.

If, after downloading one of them, error 490 begins to appear systematically, you should delete the application.

If the error appeared recently, it is likely related to one of the recently downloaded applications. We remove it to troubleshoot

    Error 491

  • The essence of this failure is that the application is not downloaded or updated. You can fix it by deleting the account from which the download is made and clearing the Play Market application data.
  • The account is deleted through the device settings.
  • After deleting the account, the device must be rebooted.
  • After the reboot, log into your account again, open “Applications” in the settings and select “Google Play Services”. Our task is to delete all application data.
  • In the “Manage Place” tab, delete all application data.
  • After that, go to the Play Market again. Error 491 should no longer occur.

Click the “Delete all data” button

    Error 492
The reason for this problem, like many related to the Play Market, lies in the overcrowding of the cache. This is done through “Settings” => “Applications”. After clearing the Play Market cache and Google services, the problem should disappear. However, there is a possibility that even after clearing the cache, the device will display the same error. In this case, you need to dig deeper. To clean it, we go into recovery mode (for most smartphones this is done by turning it off and then simultaneously pressing the volume up button, the power button and the Home button). The menu that appears on the screen is the recovery mode of the device. To clear the cache, you need to select Wipe cache partition and confirm your choice. In this mode, the transition between menu items is carried out using the “Volume up” - “Volume down” buttons, and confirmation of the choice is done with the power key.

    Error 495

This error can be seen when downloading programs or when updating them. This type of problem must be dealt with radically. To correct this error, you need to delete Play Market data through the application settings and delete the account from which the download or update is taking place.

We reboot the device, log into your account again and download the application again - in this case it should be saved without problems.

Error 497 This usually occurs when there are problems updating applications already installed on the device. The simplest solution, typical for most Play Market errors, is clearing the Play Market memory and Google services

  • . If it doesn’t help, you can try disabling the memory card in the settings and updating the application again. As a rule, this is enough to correct the error. You can disable the memory card through Settings.
  • To disable the memory card in Settings, select the “Memory” tab

  • In the “Memory” tab, scroll down.

  • Select to disable the memory card.
Confirm your choice. Location of memory card data.
  • Confirm the shutdown

    Error 498

This error occurs while downloading an application from the Play Market. This can happen either because the device has insufficient memory or because the cache is full. Accordingly, the problem can be “treated” either by deleting unnecessary files and programs from the device’s internal memory (in the first case), or by clearing the cache. This is done in the application settings. It is worth clearing the cache for browsers, Play Market and games that have Internet access.

The cache is cleared by clicking the “Clear cache” button

General solutions to most Play Market errors

  • Most of the possible problems associated with the Play Market can be fixed in several similar ways. This:
  • clearing the Play Market cache and Google services;
  • deleting a valid Google account and adding it again after rebooting the device;
  • switching from Wi-Fi to mobile Internet or vice versa;
  • disconnecting the memory card;
  • clearing Dalvik cache through recovery mode.
  • At the same time, for different versions of Android the scheme of actions remains the same.
