Tablets made in Russia. Russian smartphones

A fairly large amount of computer equipment sold is currently supplied from foreign countries. But Russia could not stay away. In this regard, for quite a long time, the development of a tablet has been carried out, which will be produced directly by our country. A little earlier, one of the companies released a certain device onto the market, which at that time could not become quite popular.

Currently, the user is presented with several new tablets that are produced directly by the Russian manufacturer. It is also worth noting that quite often, Russian manufacturers are directly behind the foreign names of such devices. Not long ago, users of computer tablets were presented with several new projects that could deserve the attention of users.

Russian companies that produce tablet computers

More recently, a company like teXet was able to provide its new device. The new tablet has a name X-pad STYLE 7.1 3G. The device has a rather original case in its manufacture, the manufacturer used aluminum. This device can rightfully be called a phablet. This is due to the fact that using a tablet, the user can not only make but also receive calls. Thanks to the built-in vibration motor, you can also feel them. The new device operates directly in third generation networks. Built-in processor, which is directly responsible for the quality of graphics on the screen. The device screen itself measures seven inches.

The cameras that are built into the new tablet do not have a high enough resolution. It reaches two megapixels. The tablet will be able to perform its work with video viewing for only five hours. At the moment, the cost of the new product is five and a half thousand rubles. But the manufacturer continues its work on a more advanced version of the tablet computer.

This spring, the Russian company Explay was also able to present several of its new tablets to users. This device is called Scream 3G. The device is also considered a phablet. It allows you to make and receive all calls. Users can also send a variety of messages from the tablet. The new product is improved in all technical parameters. When making the case, the manufacturer used metal and plastic. The screen of the device measures eight inches. The screen installed on a computer tablet has a fairly good resolution. The cost of the new item is no more than seven thousand rubles.

New items that have been spotted on the Russian market

The new products of the Bb-mobile company, which is quite well known in Russia, could not go unnoticed. She launched a new series of phablets called Techno. The series currently includes only two devices. New tablets are great for making calls and sending various messages. These phablets support Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS. In devices, the user can produce two SIM cards. They have a dual-core processor installed. The screen sizes are eight inches. New tablets with such technical characteristics cost no more than four thousand rubles. There is also a tablet model that has a more powerful processor. It has a slightly larger screen size than previous models. The cost of such a tablet is seven and a half thousand rubles.

Summarizing

If you look at the abundance of Russian goods on the tablet market, then we can safely say that the domestic manufacturer is set up for fairly tough competition with global technology manufacturers. The main advantage that Russian brands have is their low cost. But at this time, the price and quality of tablets are incompatible. A fairly large number of Russian manufacturers are currently making developments in order to maximally improve the quality of manufactured computer tablets. Over time, Russian brands will be able to take their place among global manufacturers.

Among the new tablet products presented this year, there are several devices from iRU. Its models have a built-in quad-core processor. The built-in memory is sixteen gigabytes in size. The user is given the opportunity to expand it. Tablets have significantly improved technical characteristics. The screen of the new products provided has a size of eight inches.

The majority of Russian mobile technology users are sure: domestic smartphones are a myth, they do not exist. In part, such users are right - in the sense that mobile gadgets are not assembled in Russia. The lion's share of all smartphones is assembled in China - and these are not only devices from “no-name” companies with unpronounceable names, but also devices from Apple, Sony, and Samsung. What can you do if China has the cheapest labor?

Another thing is that there are Russian smartphone manufacturing companies. There are quite a few of them, and the devices they develop are quite good. We will tell you about leading Russian brands and popular models from domestic manufacturers in this article.

The Yota company, founded back in 2007, has gained nationwide fame only in recent years. First of all, the company is positioned as a cellular communications provider and manufacturer of high-tech 4G equipment. However, Yota also has a department that develops its own mobile gadgets - this is YotaPhone, opened in 2011.

Yota has chosen a different strategy for distributing its smartphones than other domestic providers like MTS and Megafon. While representatives of the “Big Three” offer very modest gadgets with SIM-Lock for “nothing,” Yota does not seek to bind customers to its own SIM card and is actively introducing innovations.

YotaPhone 2

Smartphone YotaFon 2 was presented at the MWC exhibition in Barcelona, then appeared at the traditional international CES event in Las Vegas. The gadget was awarded at both exhibitions. The smartphone was worth noting at least for its uniqueness - for 2017 it is the only gadget in the world, having two screens.

The presence of two screens is not just a useless “bell”: the innovation has practical significance.

The second screen, located on the rear edge of the device, is made using technology E-Ink– this technology is most often used to create e-books.

The user can view the time, check the weather forecast or received SMS messages without “lighting up” the main screen - this helps save device power. YotaPhone 2 does not look like a “whipping boy” in terms of general parameters: the smartphone is equipped with a 5-inch “main” FullHD display, an 8 megapixel camera and 2 GB of RAM.

Where to buy Russian Yota Devices smartphones?

Finding a cellular smartphone from Yota Devices on sale is not an easy task: not every cellular network distributes these gadgets. At the beginning of 2017, sales of YotaPhone were carried out by Megafon and M.Video stores, as well as online electronics stores. Yulmart" And " Online TREYD.RU" In addition, YotaPhone, of course, is sold in Yota brand stores.

Highscreen

Highscreen is a trademark owned by Vobis Computer. This brand produces not only smartphones, but also other devices - for example, DVRs.

The best characteristics of Highscreen devices are given by the rating published in 2013 by the magazine PC Magazine. According to this rating, Highscreen gadgets, in terms of price-functionality ratio, share second place with Apple itself!

Vobis Computer focuses specifically on the functional component, and not on the external effect - therefore, the owners of Highscreen gadgets are users who value hardware more than original design solutions. Vobis developers, unfortunately, pay almost no attention to design - before, Highscreen smartphones were simply copies of little-known Chinese devices. In recent years, Vobis has stopped “rebranding the Chinese,” but Highscreen smartphones with their own design remain just as nondescript.

Highscreen Ice Max

Highscreen Ice Max– one of the youngest representatives of the Power line, whose smartphones are distinguished by long-lasting battery life and powerful batteries . Ice Max was introduced in December 2016. After its appearance, talk about smartphones losing their identity and slowly turning into tablets began with renewed vigor. Main distinctive feature Ice Max– 5.3-inch diagonal screen.

An impressively sized screen is not all it can boast of Ice Max. In addition, the gadget from Highscreen is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 4000 mA (from which, by the way, you can charge other devices) and a module LTE-Advanced, guaranteeing the highest mobile Internet speed to date (300 Mbit/sec).

Due to the fact that the device screen is made using technology InCell, The thickness of the gadget is only 8.2 mm, and this is the key to the very attractive appearance of the smartphone - a quality that, as already mentioned, is not typical for Highscreen devices.

Where to buy a Russian-made Highscreen smartphone?

It’s very easy to find Highscreen smartphones in showroom windows - this manufacturer’s partners include almost all the more or less well-known domestic retail chains and online stores. The only exception is Euroset, however, in the Euroset review we already wrote that the company’s assortment leaves much to be desired. In MTS, Megafon, Svyaznoy, as well as in Citylink and Yulmart, Highscreen gadgets are presented.

Texet

Among domestic manufacturers, Texet is a long-lived company; The year this company was founded is 2004. Seeing Texet smartphones on showroom windows, visitors are often quite surprised - they are familiar with this manufacturer from completely different devices.

Texet produces a variety of devices under its brand: e-books, clock radios, navigators, video recorders, and, most importantly, the so-called granny phones - the simplest mobile devices without an OS, but with huge buttons.

Texet smartphones “are missing stars from the sky”: the company’s share in the Russian mobile gadgets market does not even reach 1%. The devices themselves are rather inconspicuous copies of Chinese devices and, as a rule, have the only advantage over competitors - price. Texet is doing much better with sales of secure mobile phones - for avid hunters and fishermen.

Texet X-Driver Quad

Texet also has newer models in its catalog, but it deserves special attention X-Driver Quad. This is one of the most inexpensive rugged smartphones present on the domestic market. Its cost is about 6 thousand rubles - compared to manufacturers’ devices Caterpillar And Land Rover, costing 20-30 thousand rubles, X-Driver Quad has a very affordable price tag.

X-Driver Quad will certainly delight any representative of the stronger sex. The back cover of the device is especially impressive. Textured and containing metal plates, it is attached to the body of the gadget with steel screws - you can only disassemble a smartphone without a screwdriver if you have very strong nails. The rubberized protective inserts on the side edges of the device are also pleasing - they will save the device in the event of a fall from a great height. Another important advantage X-Driver Quad - a battery with an impressive capacity of 3100 Ma, thanks to which the gadget is rightfully classified as a “long-liver”.

Where to buy Russian Texet smartphones?

Texet smartphones are sold in the company’s company store located in St. Petersburg, as well as in the retail chains Euroset, MTS, Svyaznoy, Eldorado, M.Video and even Auchan. In Megafon stores you can only find tablets from this manufacturer. Texet gadgets are also present in the catalogs of online stores - for example, Yulmart.

4Good

4Good is the youngest domestic smartphone manufacturer; the company entered the mobile device market only in 2015. The name of the company plays on the American expression “For good” - translated into Russian as “forever” - and very well reflects the philosophy of the company. The company does not strive to surprise customers with technical delights and innovations - it produces durable smartphones, which also have a very tempting price. That's what they say at least in the company itself.

4Good S555m

Model S555m received a lot of flattering reviews from mobile market experts. Having a more than reasonable price (about 7,500 rubles), it boasts a fairly wide range of characteristics. Main advantage S555mdisplay: With an impressive diagonal of 5.5 inches, the screen has a resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels, making the smartphone convenient to use for watching movies.

Another advantage of the 4Good S555m is its polycarbonate body, which is scratch and fingerprint resistant. The case also differs in color: lovers of exotic things will certainly like the yellow-colored 4Good smartphone. More conservative users should pay attention to the black model.

Where can you buy new products from 4Good?

The manufacturer 4Good has been successfully cooperating with Beeline for a long time. Thanks to a joint promotion with a cellular provider (the essence of which was that the S450m smartphone was sold cheaper together with a Beeline SIM card), the young company 4Good managed to gain a foothold in the mobile device market. In addition to Beeline, 4Good smartphones are sold in MTS networks, as well as in the Yulmart online store.

Is Ermak a special smartphone?

In the summer of 2016, the Open Mobile Platform (OMP) company announced the first smartphone with a domestic operating system Sailfish OS– the gadget was called “Ermak WMD”. Journalists vied with each other to write about this device, because for the Russian mobile market the appearance of a completely “own” smartphone is an extraordinary event.

It would seem that patriots should be happy - they will no longer have to carry a device assembled by hardworking Chinese in their pocket. But There is nowhere to buy Ermak– leading retailers M.Video and Svyaznoy have already stated that such a device is unlikely to arouse interest among the general public, and have refused to sell the Russian smartphone. The reason for this is the cost of the gadget - according to the manufacturer, a price tag of 2 thousand dollars should be put on it, which in Russian rubles is 130 thousand rubles.

Why is Ermak so good if its price is so “astronomical”?

Features of the national “gadget industry”

Externally, “Ermak”, to put it mildly, is not impressive - it looks like a guest from the past, the beginning of the “tenths”, when strict HTC models Desire, Sensation and Mozart “ruled the show”. The functionality of the device, by the way, also makes you remember those years: 1 GB of RAM, a front camera with a resolution of 2 megapixels, an old Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8960 processor - all this looks ridiculous, especially when compared with the leading smartphones of the modern mobile market, which are three times cheaper.

However, “Ermak WMD” is not designed for ordinary consumers - according to the manufacturer’s plan, users of this gadget should become civil servants.

The smartphone supports data transfer via closed communication channels, is capable of working with radio frequency tags and barcodes, is equipped with a scanner for reading fingerprints, the machine-readable zone of passports and excise stamps, and can easily withstand temperatures of +60°. Such options might be useful for James Bond, but are they needed by the average consumer?

Where to buy Ermak?

"Ermak" is not sold either in retail chains or in online electronics stores– it is not yet available to ordinary users, and this somehow contradicts the words of the General Director of WMD Pavel Eiges, who promised a mass product. More attention is currently being paid to the possible inclusion of Ermak in the register of goods of original Russian origin. What will this give to the WMD company? Millions of orders from government agencies, which, according to the resolution of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, do not have the right to use foreign-made equipment for state needs. If addition to the register can be achieved, WMD will have no competitors.

Therefore, the mass market does not need Ermak, just as the mass market does not need the smartphone itself. With such a price, the gadget will definitely not be popular. Fans of domestic products should wait for the imminent release of Ermak 50 on Android - according to rumors, this smartphone will be both cheaper and more accessible.

Conclusion

Russian companies are quite widely represented in the domestic mobile device market. But buyers, alas, do not suspect this - smartphones from companies Texet, Highscreen And Explay many of them are mistakenly considered Chinese hack work. These gadgets are indeed assembled in China, but according to instructions created by Russian minds. It is thanks to Chinese production that mobile gadgets are available to any domestic consumer. How many people would be willing to pay hundreds of thousands of rubles for a smartphone marked “Made In Russia”?

At the same time, IPSOS analysts point to a trend in Russia of replacing stationary devices with portable ones in the near future: the majority of respondents are going to purchase a tablet or laptop within a year (73% each, respectively).

2016

Declining consumer segment over 3 years

On March 17, 2017, the analytical company IDC published the results of a study of the Russian tablet computer market. Consumer spending on these electronics has been falling for three years in a row.

The study also says that prices for compact tablets (with 7-inch screens) will continue to decline, and phablets will continue to displace these devices from the market. Analysts consider another trend to be the growth in the number of large-sized models (display diagonal from 10 to 12 inches) with keyboard covers.

year 2014

J'son & Partners Consulting data

J’son & Partners Consulting estimated the size of the Russian tablet PC market at the end of 2014 at 9.3 million devices. The market grew by 37% compared to the same indicators in 2013.

The growth rate of the Russian tablet PC market in physical terms (+37%) was significantly ahead of the world average (+4%) at the end of 2014.

The share of the Russian tablet PC market in total global sales was 4% at the end of 2014. It is worth noting that Russia’s share in global sales of tablet PCs is 2 times higher than that of the Russian smartphone market.

Russian tablet market in 2014, 2015

The average cost of a tablet PC in Russian retail was 8.6 thousand rubles. based on the results of 2014. Compared to the same indicator in 2013, the cost decreased by 25%, compared to 2012 - by 45%. The company's analysts see the main reason for the decline in the cost of Tablet PCs as the growing share of Russian and Chinese manufacturers, as well as the share of subsidized sales of Tablet PCs under the brands of telecom operators.

The Russian tablet PC market is dominated by two operating systems - Android and iOS. The vast majority of tablet PCs sold in 2014 run on the Android platform. The share of the operating system from Google grew by 6% over the year, and at the end of 2014 amounted to 89% of sales in physical terms.

Trends and forecast of the Russian tablet PC market

Analysts have identified the main trends in the Russian tablet PC market in 2014:

  • growth in the share of tablet PCs supporting 3G and 4G;
  • over the year, the share of tablet PCs with support for third- and fourth-generation networks increased by 20 percentage points. and at the end of the 4th quarter of 2014 amounted to 84% of sales in physical terms;
  • a decrease in the average retail price of a tablet PC, an increase in the supply of devices in the “budget” segment;
  • growth in the share of operator tablet PCs;
  • in 2014, branded tablet PCs from MegaFon and VimpelCom operators regularly became the best-selling tablets for the month;
  • improving the coverage and quality of operator 3G and 4G networks, low cost of mobile Internet in Russia;
  • growing popularity of mobile applications and services.

According to the forecast of J'son & Partners Consulting, the total sales volume of tablet PCs in Russia by 2019 will reach 14.5 million devices and will increase by 56% compared to the results of 2014.

IDC Data

At the end of 2014, there was a reduction in the Russian tablet market by 5% - to 8.16 million units. In monetary terms, the decrease was 30.9% and reached $1.92 billion. The tablet market in its development dynamics repeats the history of the PC market. Saturation in the tablet market is happening faster than in the smartphone segment, and the update period for tablets is being extended.

Despite the overall decline in the tablet PC market, some of its categories may show positive dynamics in 2015, according to IDC. The supply of devices with a diagonal of 8 inches or more, with support for voice communications and fourth-generation networks, will increase.

In January 2014, Svyaznoy and Euroset published their assessments of the Russian tablet PC market over the past year. According to Svyaznoy, in 2013, about 7.2 million tablets were sold for an amount of 81.4 billion rubles, which means an increase in sales by 125% in physical terms, and by 65% in monetary terms. Euroset, in turn, provides data on 6.7 million tablet PCs sold and an increase of 107% in unit terms.

Tablets remain the fastest growing category of personal electronics in Russia and for the second year in a row are demonstrating triple-digit growth rates in units, notes Svyaznoy. The company explains a slight slowdown in growth rates in the country in unit terms by the gradual saturation of the market in Moscow and large cities. If we consider federal districts and small localities separately, here the growth rates show higher indicators.

The average bill for tablets for the year decreased by 27% to 11.38 thousand rubles, according to data from Svyaznoy. The average cost of a tablet PC steadily decreased throughout the year: for example, at the end of the 1st half of the year it amounted to 12.527 thousand rubles, in the 3rd quarter it decreased to 11.5 thousand rubles, and at the end of the 4th quarter - to 10.32 thousand rubles . In December 2013, the cost of tablets crossed the threshold of 10 thousand rubles. – the average bill for a tablet computer was 9.7 thousand rubles. According to Euroset, the price reduction for tablet PCs in 2013 was 25%, to 11.6 thousand rubles.

Among the main factors that influenced the average cost in Svyaznoy, they note, first of all, the expansion of the market and the growth of sales in the price segment up to 15 thousand rubles. In 2013, high-quality tablets costing less than 2.5 thousand rubles went on sale, the company says. The increase in the availability of tablets on such a scale was largely made possible thanks to the form factor: more and more manufacturers on the market provide a choice of devices with a screen diagonal of less than 8.9 inches. Such devices accounted for more than 2/3 of total unit sales in 2013.

While foreign tablet manufacturers are thinking about how they can outdo Apple with its iPad, the domestic company 3Q, previously known as an assembler of various IT devices such as external hard drives, optical drives, PC cases and network equipment, has decided to start producing newfangled gadgets right in Russia . Well, about production - this, of course, is said loudly. In fact, the tablets will be assembled from ready-made components that will be purchased from suppliers on the spot.

3Q wants to conquer the Russian market (and it dreams of capturing 15% of it and becoming third) by offering a wide range of models and a large number of configurations designed to satisfy the needs of various categories of users.

So far the company has developed three models: 10-inch TS1003T, TS1004T and 9.7-inch TS9703T. The display resolution of the first two models is

1024x600 pixels, and the last one - 1024x768 pixels. In addition, the TS9703T screen has an aspect ratio of 4:3, which is already unusual today, and is made on an IPS-type matrix. While TS1003T and TS1004T use a TN matrix.

TS1003T is the youngest in the line, and it does not have a built-in camera and, in addition, it does not support 3G cellular networks.

TS1004T and TS9703T carry 1.3 megapixel cameras on board and can optionally be equipped with a 3G/GPS module. True, you have to pay for everything, and HD video from these two models can only be displayed on a TV screen or projector using special docking stations.

TS1004T

Perhaps the most important thing that all three of these devices have in common is that they are powered by a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 (1GHz) processor, which provides high performance and low power consumption. It is stated that the average continuous operation time of the presented tablets is about 8 hours.

As mentioned above, the 3Q company is going to release various modifications of its tablets. They will differ in the amount of installed RAM

(from 512MB to 1GB), and the capacity of solid-state drives SSD (and from 8GB to 32GB).

TS1003T will go on sale on April 12 at a price of 14,999 rubles, TS1004T in May from 15,999 rubles, and TS9703T in June at 16,999 rubles.

Also in April, it is planned to bring to market a model running the MeeGo OS, and in June a budget 7-inch device on an as-yet unnamed operating system.

Existing tablets run Android 2.2 OS, which will be replaced by version 2.3 in May (the devices have the ability to automatically flash the OS and update other software).

Since the Android OS was originally developed for use in smartphones and is not very convenient in the tablet version, 3Q installed an additional TAP UI graphical interface on its devices. It provides quick access to the most important applications: the Internet, contacts, news, videos, photos, events on social networks, as well as the task manager, calendar and media player. For fans of “pure” Android, it is possible to switch to the standard interface.

In addition, tablets come preloaded with a basic set of applications by default, including office suite, games, access to social networks, news sites, stores, etc. The user can download additional programs from the Appslib store, which already contains more than 35,000 applications verified for use on 3Q tablets.
