Overclocking

Overclocking is not very productive, since there is no extra food. The parameters must be selected carefully. If you overclock it too much, you can only make things worse for the GPU.

Having overclocked the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2G OC, we were able to obtain the following data:

No overclocking (factory OC) 1493-1582/1750 MHz
With manual overclocking 1759-1911/1900 MHz

Comparison of GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti

GTX 1050 Ti 3Gb

A strange video card, in most respects it is closer to the 1050 Ti. The catch lies in the bus size - 96 bits instead of the usual 128. In games and benchmarks, the three-gigabyte version performs slightly better than the regular GTX 1050. The price for such a video card is the same as for the regular 1050 with two gigabytes of memory.

Conclusion

The speed of the video card is not particularly surprising. They are quite suitable for mid-level assemblies for 25-35 thousand rubles. If you play projects such as Dota 2, World of Warcraft, CS: GO, Diablo III, StarCraft II there will definitely be no problems. But you can also play the new Witcher. If you do not plan to change the card in the next 3-4 years, it is better to choose something better.

NVIDIA today introduced entry-level video cards based on 14-nanometer GP107 chips with Pascal architecture. The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and GeForce GTX 1050 models will be of interest to gaming enthusiasts who are willing to spend $100–200 on a video card. Let's see what, according to the Californians, basic game graphics should be at the end of 2016. The first to review was an interesting model from the new ASUS EXPEDITION line – ASUS EX-GTX1050TI-4G.

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and GeForce GTX 1050

Having partially satisfied the demand of the most demanding gamers, NVIDIA is ready to expand its new Pascal-based solutions into the most mainstream segment. Entry-class video cards are extremely popular. This admission ticket in to the world big games, therefore, for developers of discrete graphics, it is extremely important to control what may not be the most profitable in terms of profit, but a strategically important section of the graphics front.

Some potential buyers will upgrade their ancient video card, hoping to get a progressive, economical and more productive solution at a reasonable price. Someone has just decided to buy a discrete adapter, up to this point relying exclusively on integrated graphics. Someone could barely pick out family budget amount for an entry-level device, and some, due to personal convictions, are simply not ready to spend more than $200 on a video card. In all these and numerous similar cases, it is important for manufacturers to “leverage”, get into a position and make an offer that cannot be refused. Ultimately, the manufacturer solves several problems at once. Firstly, he makes money. Yes, relatively small, but this is a mass market, and therefore the volumes are not comparable with the supply of expensive models. Secondly, this is an excellent opportunity to increase its own market share, which is important for any company, especially in conditions of intense competition between the two main players. Thirdly, this is the most reliable way to gain adherents of your products who, having received a positive experience, will probably next time prefer a product from the same manufacturer and perhaps it will be a device of a higher class. That’s why entry-level video cards are important and none of the developers hide this.

NVIDIA officially announced new entry-level video cards back on October 18, because specifications GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and GeForce GTX 1050 are already familiar to us. Both models use the new 14nm GP107 chip. This is a very compact chip with a chip area of only 132 mm², which contains about 3.3 billion transistors. The new technological process allows us to significantly increase the density of elements. For comparison, the GM107 chip used for the GeForce GTX 750 Ti has even slightly larger dimensions - 148 mm², but includes only 1.87 billion transistors. The long-awaited transition from 28 nm to 14 nm is very appropriate here.

In the case of GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, GPU includes 768 compute units, 48 texture units and 32 rasterizers. The GTX 1050 uses a slightly simplified version of the GP107 - 640 compute units, 40 texture units and 32 rasterization units. In both cases, all processors are available graphics technologies, used for older Pascal-based models. The only exception here is the ability to work in SLI mode, which is not available for basic NVIDIA discrete graphics.

Both new video cards use GDDR5 memory running at an effective 7000 MHz. The memory bus is 128 bits, and the total bandwidth in this configuration is 112.1 GB/s. NVIDIA emphasizes that its developers were able to further improve the compression when transmitting color scheme data, which makes it possible to use the available memory bandwidth approximately 20% more efficiently than what was available for Maxwell.

For both GP107 video cards, a thermal package of 75 W is declared. These adapters do not require additional power to operate. The required power can be provided by the PCI Express x16 slot on the motherboard.

The recommended price for GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB is $109. The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti model, equipped with 4 GB of memory, will be offered from $139. The prices are very “tasty”, but it is worth considering that this price is relevant for the American market, and is also indicated without taxes.

We will only see reference adapters with NVIDIA designs on presentation slides. But there is no need to regret it. The company's partners have already prepared a huge number of their own options for every taste and budget. Today we will take a closer look at one of the original versions of the GeForce GTX 1050.

ASUS EX-GTX1050TI-4G

ASUS presented four modifications of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. At the same time, perhaps the most interesting version came to us for review.

This is a representative of the new line – EXPEDITION, the devices of which are positioned by the manufacturer as reliable solutions for intensive loads 24/7. The merciless operating conditions of the hardware are more typical for all kinds of gaming cafes and clubs that are popular in the Asian region, but those who like to play often and at home can adhere to this regime.

ASUS EX-GTX1050TI-4G has a recommended frequency formula. The base GPU frequency is set at 1290 MHz with an average boost speed of up to 1392 MHz. The video card has 4GB of GDDR5 memory running at an effective 7008 MHz.

Contents of delivery

The video card is offered in a compact box. Only the essentials are supplied. An adapter in an antistatic bag, a disk with drivers and software, a quick guide and a coupon with a reminder of bonuses in World of Warships (cruiser Diana and 15 days of premium access).

Design and Layout

The external design of ASUS EX-GTX1050TI-4G is simple, but not trivial. The adapter body closely resembles a block of almost regular shape.

The cooling system does not have a very complex configuration. The cooler is based on a fairly massive aluminum block with a non-trivial profile. Heat pipes are not provided for in the design.

The radiator block is blown by a pair of 80 mm axial fans with large blades. At the same time, ball bearings are used for the fans, potentially increasing their lifespan.

In the case of the GeForce GTX 1050/1050 Ti, the reference model is a rather relative concept. All manufacturers will offer their own versions of printed circuit boards and cooling systems. In this case, the length of the PCB is 212 mm and it determines the overall dimensions of the video card.

The adapter has a dual-slot design. The ASUS EX-GTX1050TI-4G does not require additional power to operate, so the corresponding connector is not provided at all. The manufacturer recommends using a power supply with a power of 300 W or more for a system with a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

The layout of the interface panel corresponds to the recommended one. Three digital video outputs are provided on the mounting plate: DVI-D (DL), HDMI and DisplayPort.

In progress

In rest mode, the video card operates in passive mode. It would seem that an adapter with a relatively simple radiator unit configuration is unlikely to cope with cooling the chip, but the results are shown in the corresponding screenshot.

At rest, the GPU frequency drops to 139 MHz at 0.675 V. Therefore, even a modest heatsink unit is enough to keep the temperature of a tiny, economical chip within 30-35 degrees.

After a high gaming load (based on the completion of all tests), the processor temperature at its peak rose to 68 degrees. The fans start to rotate at about 60, and in order to maintain the maximum level, the speed was increased to only 900 rpm. At the same time, the video card operates almost silently.

Note that during load, the GPU Boost mechanism in normal mode increased the clock frequency of the chip to 1695 MHz.

Overclocking

Since the video card is not equipped with a connector for additional power, the Power Limit parameter is limited to 100%, and there is no way to regulate the supply voltage, we did not expect any special results in overclocking. Nevertheless, it was still interesting to experiment. And our curiosity was rewarded.

Without additional preparations, the base GPU frequency was increased to 1541 MHz (+19.4%), while the memory, instead of the standard 7008 MHz, worked quite stably at 7868 MHz (+12.3%).

Even after significant overclocking, the temperature of the chip remained within the same limits, as well as the fan speed. The additional afterburner noticeably shifted the operating frequencies of the GPU. At its peak, the frequency exceeded 1900 MHz, although the average values were lower - 1750–1850 MHz. But the very fact that the GP107 operates at such frequencies is impressive. And this is on an adapter without additional power, increasing voltages and expanding energy limits.

Of course, for serious overclocking, adapter models that can additionally supply 75 W via a 12-volt line are still better suited. Although, first, let's make sure that increasing the GPU frequency improves the performance of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

Performance

To evaluate the performance of the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, we used current models from the opposing camp - Radeon RX 460 4 GB and Radeon RX 470 4 GB. In addition, the diagrams show the results of the well-deserved GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2 GB, which has long remained the starting point for entry-level gaming systems, as well as the GeForce GTX 960 4 GB, a representative of the Maxwell generation, which not so long ago looked appropriate in mid-class gaming PCs. To stay in line with NVIDIA's new solutions, we also added the GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB performance.

The first measurements show that the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB is significantly more productive than the Radeon RX 460, equipped with the same amount of memory. The difference is on average 25-40%. One could say that this is a one-sided game, but here again it is worth recalling that these are not direct competitors at all. A more expensive model from one company turns out to be more productive than a device with a lower price tag from another developer. The situation is quite logical.

The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti very easily and naturally unhooked the GeForce GTX 960, leaving no chance for the representative of the previous generation. The advantage of a new product often falls within the range of 10–15%.

Against this background, the almost twofold advantage over the GeForce GTX 750 Ti looks predictable.

It's hard for GP107 video cards to compete with the Radeon RX 470. The 20-35% advantage cannot be compensated even with overclocking. But, if we are talking about the influence of independent tuning, we note that increasing the frequencies of the chip and memory provided the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with an increase in the number of frames/sec by approximately 10%. Not much, but not bad considering that it didn’t take much effort.

GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB is a completely different class of device, so a 70–80% difference in performance is not surprising.

As a result, the graphical hierarchy of current models is presented in this way. The starting point is the Radeon RX 460. Considering the results of the GTX 1050 Ti, we can assume that the GeForce GTX 1050 will also be more productive than the base AMD version. The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is located a little higher. Then follows the Radeon RX 470. It is curious that just a few days before the start of sales of new NVIDIA solutions, AMD adjusted the price of the Radeon RX 460/470, somewhat leveling the situation. For those who want even more, you'll have to invest in a Radeon RX 480 4/8 GB or GeForce GTX 1060 3/6 GB.

Price

While enjoying the pleasant American price tag, you shouldn’t count on similar retail prices for GP107 video cards in Ukraine. According to preliminary data, the recommended starting price of the reviewed GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB in our market will be about 6,000 UAH. (~$230).

Site evaluation

Pros: Performance in its class; 4 GB memory; very quiet cooling system; overclocking capability; excellent energy efficiency (performance per watt)

Minuses: High starting price

Conclusion: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB offers very good capabilities in its class, which makes it recommended for entry-level gaming systems. The video card is noticeably more productive than the Radeon RX 460 while having a similar level of power consumption. However, the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is initially positioned as a faster solution. To compete with the base AMD model, the less expensive GeForce GTX 1050 will be used. In any case, the appearance of these models will be an excellent catalyst for the long-awaited changes in the base discrete graphics segment. Vivid first impressions of the device on the GP107 are somewhat blurred by the high starting prices. With a retail price of more than $200, such models are likely to attract reserved interest. Still, the price factor here is extremely important, therefore, let’s hope that the initial boom will soon give way to a period of saturation, followed by a decrease in the cost of video cards. As for the ASUS EX-GTX1050TI-4G itself, it’s difficult to make any claims other than the high starting price. The cooling system, which is deceptively simple at first glance, does an excellent job of its main task. At rest, the video card operates in passive mode, and at maximum load the noise emitted is barely noticeable. If desired, even without additional power, the video card can be accelerated by increasing the frequencies of the GPU and memory.

On October 25, two models of NVIDIA video accelerators with Pascal architecture for budget gaming PCs went on sale. If at the time of Maxwell NVIDIA began introducing a new architecture from the lower price segment (and AMD in Polaris started from the middle), then the Pascal family unfolds in the classic sequence - from the flagship product to the most affordable.

NVIDIA's previous announcements this year provided a complete picture of what the Pascal architecture is all about. For now, NVIDIA is enjoying the lack of competition at the top end of the price range, as AMD has yet to release an equal competitor based on the next-gen process for the GeForce GTX 1070/1080. And the NVIDIA TITAN X video card allows you to imagine what the new flagship product will look like when NVIDIA deems it necessary to expand the family of gaming accelerators towards even greater performance.

The average category in terms of price and performance in the Pascal family is formed by the GeForce GTX 1060 and GTX 1060 3 GB (we consider the latter separately, since it differs not only in the amount of RAM, but also in the configuration of the graphics core). Here AMD managed to present an alternative choice in the form of Radeon RX 470 and RX 480 accelerators on the Polaris 10 chip, which have an adequate performance-to-price ratio.

Well, the latest GeForce GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti are video cards for entry-level gaming PCs and HTPCs (Home Theater PCs). At first glance, they look like a modest addition to the Pascal line, not deserving of the attention that their older predecessors received. However, you should not neglect new products just because they have no value in the eyes of hardcore gamers. The GTX 1050/1050 Ti is an important phenomenon of its kind from both a practical and theoretical point of view.

Low-end video cards based on Pascal fill the niche that remained vacant in the GeForce 900 line, and from a technical point of view, they are the heirs of the GeForce GTX 750/750 Ti (GPU GM107) rather than the GeForce GTX 950. Although these video cards formally belong to the same class, NVIDIA did not release a graphics processor to replace the GM107 in the 900 line, based on the second generation Maxwell architecture (GM2xx chips). As a result, the GTX 950 based on the partially blocked GM206 chip does not match the energy efficiency of the GTX 750 Ti, which prevented the creation of equally compact video cards that lack an additional power connector. Thus, the GTX 1050/1050 Ti, unlike other 10-series models from an architectural point of view represents a step of not one, but one and a half generations. If we add to the increased performance per watt provided by the next-generation technical process, new Pascal multimedia capabilities (HEVC hardware codec, HDMI 2.0b and DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 video interfaces), then the new products begin to look very promising.

There is a second aspect that makes the GTX 1050/1050 Ti an intriguing research subject. In the long-awaited transition of GPUs from 28 nm to 14/16 nm, we saw chip designers who in years past had consistently ordered production from TSMC's fab took different paths. NVIDIA continued to use TSMC for Pascal processors using 16 nm FinFET technology, while AMD switched to GlobalFoundries, which licensed 14 nm FinFET technology from Samsung.

Now the end has come to the long-term exclusive cooperation between NVIDIA and TSMC, because the documentation for the GTX 1050/1050 Ti indicates that the GP107 chip is made according to the 14 nm FinFET standard. As you know, the last time NVIDIA resorted to the services of another manufacturer was in 2003 - to produce NV3x chips from the GeForce FX family of cards. The company does not officially disclose the name of its contractor, but according to third-party sources, it was Samsung. By the way, don’t be confused by the word TAIWAN in the GPU marking (as well as the complete coincidence of the format in which the production period and stepping of the chip are encoded). Yes, Samsung's 14nm FinFET fab is located in Texas, USA, but when NVIDIA produced the NV3x series GPUs at IBM's American fab, the chips were labeled as Korean. Apparently, NVIDIA simply assembles GPUs into cases or does something else with them in Taiwan.

Be that as it may, in terms of “energy” characteristics, the GP107 may differ from its older brothers released by TSMC. In addition, the GTX 1050/1050 Ti test results will bring us closer to answering the question of why the latest AMD GPUs performed so poorly in terms of frequency potential and performance per watt. To what extent is the difference in these parameters between Pascal and Polaris due to architectural features, and to what extent due to manufacturing factors? However, if we make allowance for the fact that the two companies could implement the 14 nm FinFET process in different ways, then checking the GP107 in action can only remove suspicion from the technology as such, and not from the GlobalFoundries factory in New York State, USA, which is engaged in release of the corresponding chips, or Advanced Micro Devices engineers.

⇡#NVIDIA GP107

GP107 fully embodies the principles laid down in the Pascal architecture in relation to gaming-class GPUs (unlike GP100, which has its own characteristics). It differs from older chips - GP106, GP104, GP102 - only in the number of computational units and the size of caches for various purposes.

The GP107 logic circuit includes two GPCs (Graphics Processing Cluster), each of which consists of a Raster Engine block that performs the initial stages of rendering (determination of polygon edges, projection and clipping of invisible pixels) and three SMs (Stream Multiprocessor). Each of the latter, in turn, contains the PolyMorph Engine geometry engine, 128 32-bit CUDA cores, 4 64-bit CUDA cores, 8 texture units and an L1 cache section. Like other gaming GPUs in the Pascal family, GP107 differs from Maxwell in its increased L1 capacity (from 24 to 48 KB).

Thus, in terms of shader and texture throughput per megahertz frequency, the full-featured GP107 has taken a step forward relative to the GM107 and corresponds to the “chopped” GM206 in the GeForce GTX 950. The back-end of the processor is represented by an L2 cache, a ROP array and four 32-bit controllers memory, there are also obvious changes.

Due to the fact that the Pascal architecture has progressive color compression, and the controllers allow working with memory at a significantly higher frequency than in the GM107 (7000 instead of 5400 Mbit/s per pin), the developers needed to double the number of ROPs compared to the GM107. At the same time, it became possible to save transistor budget on second-level cache memory (1 MB versus 2 MB in GM107).

Block diagram of NVIDIA GP107

Nevertheless, the processor turned out to be quite large for its category: the number of transistors in the GP107 is 3.3 billion. Of course, part of this volume was spent on the implementation of numerous new functions presented in the Pascal architecture, therefore, in terms of the number of transistors, the GP107 not only “swelled” significantly relative to GM107 (1.87 billion), but also ahead of GM206 (2.94 billion). Here is a short list of innovations in the Pascal architecture:

  • improved color compression with ratios up to 8:1;
  • the Simultaneous Multi-Projection function of the PolyMorph Engine geometric engine, which allows you to create up to 16 projections of scene geometry in one pass (for VR and systems with multiple displays in the NVIDIA Surround configuration);
  • the ability to interrupt (preemption) during the execution of a draw call (during rendering) and the command flow (during calculations), which, together with the dynamic distribution of GPU computing resources, provides full support for asynchronous computing (Async Compute) - an additional source of performance in games running the DirectX 12 API reduced latency in VR;
  • hardware decoding and encoding of video in H.264, H.265 (HEVC) and VP9 formats;
  • display controller compatible with DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 and HDMI 2.b interfaces. High dynamic range (HDR) support;
  • SLI bus with increased bandwidth (the corresponding blocks are most likely excluded from the GP107 due to the lack of SLI support).

⇡#GeForce GTX 1050/1050 Ti: technical specifications, prices

Based on the GP107 processor, NVIDIA has released two video cards, of which the GTX 1050 Ti is equipped with a fully functional core and 4 GB of RAM. The GTX 1050 has one of the six SMs disabled, and the standard video memory is 2 GB.

The first thing that catches your eye when you look at the specifications of the video cards is the conservative clock speeds compared to those of the GTX 1060 and older models. Until NVIDIA released detailed documentation for the GTX 1050/1050 Ti, it caused some confusion in the press. It's not hard to jump to the premature conclusion that Samsung's shift to 14nm FinFET production line infected NVIDIA GPUs with the same disease that plagued Polaris. However, the developer claims that the limiting factor was the thermal package, set at 75 W, so that NVIDIA partners could release video cards that do not require additional power. In the empirical part of the review we will see what frequencies the GP107 can actually reach.

It is also interesting that the GTX 1050 has increased GPU frequencies compared to the “titanium” version. According to NVIDIA, the younger of the two new products has three times the gaming performance of the GeForce GTX 650, and is slightly more than 50% faster than the GeForce GTX 750 Ti.

Official prices for the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti are set at $109 and $139, respectively (US market, excluding sales tax). Russian - 8,490 rub. and 10,490 rub. respectively.

However, the market niche that the new products are aimed at has already been captured by the competitor’s competing products. AMD countered the release of the GeForce GTX 1050/1050 Ti by reducing prices for modifications of the Radeon RX 460 with 2 and 4 GB of RAM - from $109/139 to $89/99. A new Russian price has been announced for the junior version of the video card - 7,530 rubles.

NVIDIA has not prepared a reference version of the GeForce GTX 1050/1050 Ti, unlike the GeForce GTX 750/750 Ti. Instead, manufacturers will begin selling video cards of their own design from the first day of sales. For testing, we were provided with samples of the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2G OC and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4G OC - fairly simple implementations of the new models with slightly increased GPU clock speeds: 1,404 / 1,518 MHz and 1341 / 1455 MHz for the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti respectively. In testing, video card clock speedsMSIwere brought to reference values.

So far, only the older model has been found in retail at prices of $140–150 (newegg.com) and 15,200 rubles. (market.yandex.ru).

⇡#MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2G OC and GTX 1050 Ti 4G OC: design

In appearance, the two MSI video cards are exactly the same. The compact board is equipped with a cooling system of the simplest design: a monolithic milled radiator and a single large impeller.

In this case, it makes no sense to describe in more detail the appearance of the device and the design of the cooling system - the photographs speak for themselves.

The only thing that distinguishes the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti from the GTX 1050 in this series of video cards is RAM chips with twice the capacity. In other respects, the devices are identical, including a four-phase power system: three phases for the GPU and one for the RAM chips.

The memory chips are manufactured by Samsung and are designed for an effective frequency of 7 GHz.

Considering the rise in the cost of video cards, provoked by the massive mining of cryptocurrencies, many players are increasingly paying attention to budget solutions. The Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti, which appeared on the market in 2016, is a good choice for gamers who are not too demanding on picture quality, since they will most often have to play at medium or high settings.

The characteristics of the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti are as follows:

  • The GPU has 768 NVIDIA CUDA cores, with a base frequency of 1290 MHz. Technological process – 14 nm.
  • Equipped with 4GB GDDR5 memory type, 128bit bus width.
  • The maximum supported resolution is 7680×4320.
  • Supports 3D APIs such as DirectX 12 and OpenGL 4.5.
  • Energy consumption is about 75 watts, maximum temperature is 97 C.

Such characteristics provided the GTX 1050 Ti 4Gb with sufficient performance at the time of release, but for new products in the gaming industry such parameters may no longer be enough.

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti review

The review of the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti video card should start with power consumption and operating temperature. When compared with previous generations, what stands out is how many watts the GTX 1050 Ti graphics card consumes. There is a trend towards a significant reduction in power consumption - the 1050 Ti needs 75 watts.

The operating temperature of the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti video card will depend primarily on the current load; most often it will heat up to about 70 C with a maximum permissible value of 97 C. It should also be mentioned that the minimum power of a suitable power supply is 300 watts.

How to overclock an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti video card for mining

Due to their design features, the products of this company are less effective for mining cryptocurrencies than the products of their direct competitors - AMD, which means that overclocking the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Ti video card for mining is still possible, although one card will not bring much income.

Overclocking the GTX 1050 Ti can be done in any suitable program; many prefer MSI Afterburner. For mining on the GTX 1050 Ti of all currencies, except perhaps Zcash, the memory frequency is of primary importance. It’s worth adding 50 MHz each, checking stability in programs like FurMark.

For 1050 Ti, the Zcash mining table will look like this:

Thus, we can conclude that mining using such devices is not the most promising activity. Farms created on the basis of several video cards are significantly inferior to devices that were originally created for mining.

Gaming performance (testing)

The maximum setting of the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti video card for games demonstrates good frame rates in many of them. At maximum settings, the Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4Gb gaming test demonstrates approximately the following minimum frame rate results:

  • Fallout 4 – 27;
  • Assassins Creed Syndicate – 34;
  • Total War: Warhammer – 32;
  • Overwatch – 63;
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – 42.

The test results of the 1050 Ti in games suggest that at slightly more modest settings you can get optimal FPS performance, albeit at the expense of picture quality.

Video card compatibility and installation

Which processor is suitable for GTX 1050 Ti? The manufacturer's official website indicates that a 300-watt power supply will be sufficient for normal operation, provided that Intel's Core i7 family processors with a clock frequency of about 3.2 GHz are used (another one will do, but the processor for the GTX 1050 Ti video card is listed on the official website this one, which means it will be the optimal choice).

Before installing the Geforce GTX 1050 Ti video card, you should make sure that the power supply can handle the load.

When answering the question of what kind of power supply is needed for the GTX 1050 Ti, you should take into account the possibility of increased power consumption during overclocking, so 300 watts, which is enough for normal mode, may not be enough under increased load.

Today, the question does not arise about what kind of motherboard is needed for the GTX 1050 Ti; problems of hardware incompatibility are practically a rare phenomenon, and, therefore, any motherboard for the GTX 1050 Ti is suitable.

Installing a GTX 1050 Ti video card is also not difficult, except in cases where the card simply does not fit into the dimensions of the system unit case.
