External hemorrhoids bleed - causes and what to do? How to install an application on a tablet? Application installation methods

As you know, Apple prohibits the installation of third-party applications, but Google allows it, so many people who have become the owner of a smartphone based on the Android OS have many questions about downloading new programs and games to it, accessing the Internet using Wi-Fi and 3G. If you are one of them and you need to download some application to your smartphone, then we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the rules for installing them.

First you need to know that all programs and toys for phones and tablets based on the Android operating system have the .apk extension. A file with the apk extension is an installation archive; you can view its contents with any archiver. There are several options program downloads and games on Android are:

1. Via the Internet service Google Play (Android Market). This method is the easiest way to download programs and games to your phone. The Google Play Internet service is available on every phone; on this service you can find more than half a million safe applications and games, since it hosts only those programs that have been checked for viruses and other harmful codes. Find it on your mobile phone and click on the “Install” button.

The advantages of this method are simplicity, security, convenience and easy tracking of updates. Disadvantages - a large amount of waste during loading. Therefore, it is better to use Wi-Fi, 3G or unlimited data transfer for this purpose.

Children under 13 years of age are prohibited from using the Google Play service (Android Market), and teenagers under 18 years of age must obtain permission from a parent. Otherwise, Google may, without notice suspend access to this service.

To access Google Play (Android Market), find the “Market” application in the “Applications” menu of your phone, set up Internet access, 3G or , launch the application, after which you will be taken to the main page. Next, click the search button and enter the name of the application you want to install. You just need to find it in the descriptions of the search results and click on the “Install” button. If you don’t know the name of the application, you will have to search by category, using filters for convenience. For example, show only the most popular, only free ones, and so on. After clicking the “Install” button, the system itself will download the desired program or game and install it on your mobile phone.

2. From an arc file previously downloaded to a smartphone. To install programs and games from preloaded arc file We perform the following operations sequentially:
- In the smartphone menu, select “Settings” and click on it;

- Next we find the “Security” button, if it is not there, then - “Applications” or “Application settings”;

- Go to the application and check the “V” box next to the “Unknown sources” item;

- Download the desired program or game with the .ark extension from the website to your phone or computer. If you downloaded the arc file to your computer, then you will need to connect your mobile device to the computer using a USB cable and transfer the installation file. In this case, it is better to transfer it directly to a memory card rather than to a computer, since the size of some games and applications is large and takes up a lot of space on the hard drive.

- open the downloaded file with a file manager and run it. To do this, click on the icon in the file manager and click on the “Install” button. Then all that remains is to wait for the installation to complete, as evidenced by the appearance of the application icon on the desktop of your phone.

3. Using the InstallAPK program. Most smartphone and tablet users prefer download programs and games first on a computer, and then they are transferred to a mobile device using the InstallAPK computer program, which can be downloaded and install to your computer for free. After this, all that remains is to connect your mobile phone to your computer using USB cable, double-click on the arc file you need to install on your computer, and then the installation will happen automatically. This is the easiest and cheapest way to install games and applications. We recommend using it for those who do not have extra money to buy applications and games.

4. If you need install app only once or if you do not have special software or a file manager on your phone, you can install the arc file via mobile phone browser. To do this, copy the file needed for installation to a memory card (download directly to the disk, and not to a folder on it). Remember the name of the file, launch your browser and type one of these links into it:
a) content://com.android.htmlfileprovider/sdcard/File name.apk
b) file:///sdcard/filename.apk.

There is an official Google Play Market for downloading applications on Android. In addition, any game or program can be installed by downloading it to a smartphone from its .apk file and cache. The main problem is that applications installed this way will not be updated. We solve this issue and discuss the rest in detail in this manual.

Android– an open operating system, so you can download games and programs both from the official Google Play store and from other sources. Each application is installed using an executable file with the extension . apk, and large games require loading additional data, which is called a cache.

Activate "Unknown sources"

Unlike iOS, on Android, due to the openness of the file system, to allow the installation of APKs from unknown sources, you just need to follow a number of simple steps. Depending on the firmware and Android version, these steps may vary slightly.

Go to " Settings» → « Safety" and activate the toggle switch opposite the item " unknown sources».

In the new version of the OS, the developers have strengthened the security of the system. Starting with Android 8.0, permission to install APKs must be granted to each source separately. Path to " Settings" also changed a lot:

1. Open " Apps and notifications».

2. Expand " Advanced settings».

3. Click " Special access».

5. Select the sources you want to grant permission to. For example, the Chrome browser and file manager ES Explorer .

6. Switch the toggle switch.

Find the downloaded .apk file and click on it.

If multiple actions are available, select " Package installer».

Then click " Install" and wait for the process to complete.

Finally click " Ready».

Download a ZIP or RAR archive with a cache for the game. Inside there is a folder containing a file with the OBB extension. After downloading the cache to your device, install the APK following our instructions, but do not launch the game.

The downloaded cache must be unzipped and placed in the directory " Android/obb" in internal memory (" sdcard/Android/obb"if microSD is used to install applications). Use a file manager, preferably ES Explorer. Long press to highlight the archive, click " More" and select " Unpack to».

Check " Choose a path", click on the folder name, go to " Android/obb" and press " OK».

Most file managers can only unpack archives into the current directory, so first move the cache archive to " Android/obb", and then unzip.

The cache of some games from well-known developers needs to be downloaded into separate folders (usually this is written on the website where you download the cache):

  • Electronic Arts – « Android/data», « sdcard/Android/data»
  • Gameloft – « gameloft/games», « sdcard/gameloft/games»
  • Glu – « glu», « sdcard/glu»

Updated applications from Google Play load the cache into " Android/data».

Sometimes the cache is available as an .obb file without a folder. Then you need to create it, name it correctly and transfer the .obb file inside.

The game ID (folder name) can be found in two ways:

1. Open Google Play Market in your browser. For example, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.game.nfs14_row &hl=ru. Game ID com.ea.game.nfs14_row - text including " com" and up to the symbol " & ", if there is one.

2. In the title .obb The file ID is already enclosed. Copy the text including " com" before " .obb».

To create a folder through ES Explorer, go to the directory " Android/obb", click on the 3 dots in the right corner, select " Create» → « Folder", enter a name and click " OK».

Then transfer. obb-file to the created folder. To do this, select the file with a long press, click " More", select " Move to", go to the directory and confirm " OK».

How to update Android apps installed from unofficial sources

Paid programs and games installed from .apk files will not be updated through the Play Store. There are 2 ways to solve the problem: check the latest version every time and download it yourself, or use special applications. For example, App&Game 4PDA notifies the user about the appearance of new versions of games and programs on a well-known forum. F-Droid, APKUpdater, APKPure App scan popular repositories for updates and know how to download them. The last three can only update free applications.

Sometimes, when using a smartphone, it is not possible to create a high-speed Internet connection, but you need to download some game or something else. Therefore, it is worth knowing how to install a program from a computer on Android.

It happens that this is much easier to do through a PC. Moreover, some add-ons in the official Google Play store for some reason do not want to be installed and downloading them from your computer, and then transferring them to the device will be much easier. This can be done in a few simple steps.

On some Android devices, you cannot simply transfer software from your computer and install them. Before doing this, you need to allow the device to install from unidentified sources:

  1. Open the settings.
  2. Find the “Applications” item.
  3. We find and check the box, which will be called something like this: “Unknown sources” - on different versions of Android it will look different, but the meaning remains the same.

Download to PC

Files that are application installers for the Android OS have the extension apk. This is the installer you need to download if you want to use any software downloaded from your computer.

You can find them both in the web version of Google Play (the official application store for Android) and on the websites of various programs that offer the Android version of their product. If you are interested in a specific game or utility, then the best solution is to visit the developer’s website and download the latest version there: Google Play sometimes has problems downloading some add-ons.

We transfer the installer

Now you need to transfer the file with the apk extension to your device. This can be done in several ways: using Wi-Fi, USB, Bluetooth, or uploading it via an SD card.

Let's choose the two most common ones: transfer the installer via USB and via an SD card. This is much simpler, but many people use just these methods.

Via USB

To do this, you just need to connect your Android device to your PC via a USB cable. Then we allow file sharing. After this, you can view all the data from the Android system from your computer, as well as add your own.

Now we simply transfer the file with the apk extension to one of the folders in the system directory. It is better to choose a folder that you can then easily find, for example, “Downloads”.

Memory card

It's also easy to transfer the installer via an SD card. To do this, we simply connect it to the laptop via a card reader or a special adapter.

If you have previously used an SD card as data storage in an Android tablet or smartphone, then you will see an already created Android folder directory. Then we simply transfer the installer in the same way as described above.

If you just purchased an SD card or used it somewhere else, then we simply drop the apk file from the computer to a location convenient for us. Then we connect the card to Android. After that, all that remains is to install.

By the way, you won’t be able to install add-ons to your device on a memory card this way. As a result, it will still be located in the gadget’s memory. If you want to transfer part of the software to external memory, you need to go to “Settings”, in the “Applications” item, find all the programs that can be located on the card. This can be done by opening the tab related to the removable drive. There you can transfer what you need to a removable drive.

If you have already acquired such a miracle of modern electronics as a tablet PC or, in popular parlance, a tablet, then you have probably noticed that, by default, it has some programs installed that you will need for work. But this, as they say, is the necessary minimum. And how many interesting games and applications are just waiting for you to install them and start using them!

But have you never worked with the Android operating system before and don’t know what programs to install on your tablet? Well, it doesn't matter. Now we will fill this gap. It is most convenient to find and install applications for your tablet using the Android Market client, which should be included in the list of programs pre-installed on it. There is only one condition here. Whether via modem, Wi-Fi, or high-speed cable connection, your tablet must be able to access the Internet.

First of all, register with Google, create a mailbox there, and you will have your own account. Then you will be able to use all Google services under your own “nickname” (nickname, nickname).

Why do you need to register with Google? Yes, because this company today owns the rights to the Android OS, and one of its services, the Android Market, is an application store for tablet PCs with this operating system. But here - not only paid programs. Quite a lot of interesting free (Free) and trial (light) versions can also be installed on your tablet from the Android Market.

So, if you have access to the Internet, then you will probably understand how to download programs to your tablet right now. After all, this is a matter of a few minutes.
